R.A.D. or Robot Alchemic Drive. It's a PS2 game where you play as a normal sized person remote controlling a giant fuck off robot so there's some positioning involved with your little man before you punch shit with the giant robot. Also gives you full control of the arms using the analog sticks, it's a pretty cool game. Great vs mode too.

has anyone played this? i wonder if it's better or worse than RAD. looks more soulful and colorful, but not sure about gameplay

you probably also have to know the manga/anime to get most out of it

Doubt anyone here could get through the language barrier unless it plays the exact same

Is the one you posted better than RAD or is the gameplay even clunkier? Looks more colorful tbh

Remote Control Dandy, Gigantic Drive/RAD, and Tetsujin are one series on all levels except legal because of Human Entertainment going out of business and Tetsujin being licensed.

Is Chou Soujuu Mecha MG on the DS the same series or just a copycat?

It's Sandlot so it's properly related.

The games are "clunky" on purpose, the robots move as slowly as they should if they were realistic. And yes i'm talking about realism in a game about giant robots but you get what i mean.

Is this just from earlier in the RAD series? I know after RAD they made a versus fighter

SF has a Vs. mode that's presented like a fighting game instead of split screen but it's primarily just a shit sequel made by a different developer.

Actually seems a lot better than RAD from the little I played. Comfier locations and vibes because based on an already comfy anime. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but unlike RAD the camera also automatically follows your robot and all the robots have a ragdoll

The robots just don't feel quite as large as in RAD

It's a great game and the slow pace is exactly what makes it cool. Makes it feel larger than life, gives it a sense of scale. If you want a game where robots zoom around the battlefield, play pretty much any other robot game

You could play it the way I did. I mapped two controllers in my emulator and my friend controlled the legs while I did the arms.
