Hear me out my fellow niqqa's, dillema has struck. I'm feeling the itch to play ER again but don't want to be burned out again before DLC releases so i decided on a dks3 run (i never finished the last part because i lost my save not knowing it didnt have cloud function in steam). So my actual question, i usually run a some strength hybrid or quality build but i feel like doing something different, any advice on fun builds? Is dex/int viable for pvp and pve? Pure dex? I looked into pyromancer aswell but just casting spells at bosses looks a bit boring, i usually gravitate towards greatswords.

You have to do a STR build in DS3 with a fat fuck's armor. It's basically the illusion of choice.
For a melee build, Quality is BY FAR the best thing to play on DS3. It has the most DPS, shields are great, and there’s barely any bonus from two-handing. Also faith is absolute trash because they overnerfed it coming from DS2. I never tried magic or pyro though. Typically people farm a Lothric straight sword early on or put a few points on faith to use the sunlight straight sword you get lategame
I agree with this anon, go quality if you are taking a break from er, since you can’t really do it there very well.
Pyro was also stupidly easy, since that build gets you access to fire and dark, and basically any enemy resistant to one is weak to the other
Dude just say you're a fucking newgay and ask for a build, stop pretending you've played a souls game other than elden ring and know shit
Easy there fella's, i like ER and dks3 was my first souls game but losing my save just completly demoralised me to start over again back when it released so it just has been collecting dust. But i dont feel like running the same build again.
level strength
hit people with dragonslayer greataxe
simple as
Fuck off if you're not gonna help
Falseflagging discord trannies
Go have a nice day instead newmoron you killed from as a studio and forced them into making lowest common denominator appealing slop like ER. Eat a shotgun barrel you cunt
>noooo it's too fast for me nooooo
I hate DeS boomers so much it's unreal
>it's too fast
Actually, that makes it easier. The constant fast-paced combat makes combos a lot easier to learn. It's all about rhythm.
That's why Elden Ring is so hard if you play it with a rollspam build, the pace is varied and throws you off-rhythm on purpose.
I did a pyro run, and it was quite fun. Pyromancies have a lot of variety of spells and you can infuse any non-unique weapon to scale with INT/FTH
Eventually you can even get the Demon Scar. Easily the funnest of my 3 DS3 playthoughs
Well? What are you waiting for? Go play the game. Either STR + INT / STR + FTH always.
Thanks for the replies Frans
Me being indecisive is whats keeping me waiting, might just go quality again and respec into pure str or dex later, seems like the best option if i can't make up my mind.
Comfiest way to play is always STR focused and then leveling up other stuff in order to see everything the game has to offer. Have fun.
Play Pyromancer
nearly perfect dab but you forgot to stalk dung pie him before weapon art
Dark souls is garbage play something else you gay
like what
Here's a breakdown of my DS3 runs. Maybe it will help you
>STR/FTH
Main weapon was Vordt's Hammer or Dragonslayer Greataxe. STR weapons are reasonably fast and strong and very fun
Faith is absolute shit. By the end of the run I had a fully upgraded charm + 40+ FTH and lightning spears still hit like a wet noodle
>DEX/INT
Used a Darkwraith Sword for most of the playthough. Used regular magic but switched to humanity-based magic (Murkmen Staff) once I unlocked Ringed City. Magic is very good, if a bit boring. Made some bosses like Nameless King a total cakewalk. Dex Weapons don't have that burst damage potential of STR ones but the extra mobility and speed was good
>INT/FTH
Pyromancer build, used an infused Carthus Sword for most of the playthough before unlocking the Demon Scar. Pyromancy asks a lot of you, but the spells are varied and fun and you'll melt anything that is not Old Demon King or Demon Prince. For those wacking them with your weapon of choice works well. My favorite run out of them
Quality advice, thx.
I’ve heard Faith can be decent but it requires around 60 faith, plus three dedicated ring slots (2 that boost miracle, plus the one that boosts lightning). I’ve never personally tried it
I ended my first and second run roughly with the same level and same stat allocation, just shuffled around. At 45 INT I was melting Nameless King with humanity magic. At 45 i couldn't even one shot random mobs with Lightning Spear
>Unbelievable hell of a development cycle, cut content out the ass, entire storyline, map design and boss placement was scrambled up and mixed together halfway through development.
>Still manages to be one of the greatest action RPGs of all time.
How does Miyazaki keep doing it? Is he a Freemason?
DS3 is nowhere near the GOAT arpg but that’s just how souls games are. You have to remember that most ARPGs are literal attack spam beat em ups, pseudo turn based games or just floaty and janky.
Souls games don’t really have much competition in the genre. DS3 is the worst souls IMo but it’s still a pretty good game.
>DS3 is the worst souls IMo but it’s still a pretty good game.
I fucking hate Dark Souls 3, but what I hate even more are Souls-likes. The only one I can play is Mortal Shell, and even that is full of problems. Everything else is...missing the point of Souls series, entirely.
They are a joke. ‘Soulslike’ devs need to find their own style and move on
>cut content out the ass, entire storyline, map design and boss placement was scrambled up and mixed together halfway through development
every single game has a dev cycle that looks like this, it's just more apparent with souls games because of all the shit that gets datamined
Also don't forget reshade because DS3 is ugly as sin
Holy shit, that looks even worse, than closed spaces in DS2, how do you actually play like that?
>that looks even worse
Nah. I play it not looking like a gray sack of shit.
which one is supposed to be modded?
left one looks better
and it is a good looking game, it has amazing atmosphere, and i absolutely love Grand Archives
>left one looks better
It looks ugly.
right is literal eye rape, left looks fine
I like color in my game. Deal with it.
Right is so oversaturated I can't believe this isn't a joke. Look at the glowing red parts on the weapon, there's so much detail being lost. Too many pixels at maximum intensity, they bleed together and look like a blob of shit.
>there's so much detail being lost
The embers are brightened on the weapon. That's not a loss of detail. Also you wouldn't even see those "details" without the shadow mod. I should uninstall it and the HD textures to show you vanilla DS3 in all its "glory"
>no loss of detail from oversaturation
You're fucking delusional
You're retarded because those aren't even the exact same frame. You know the cinders are moving on the weapon, right?
is this game safe to play on pc? i remember people could inject code into your pc or something and fromsoft took the online down cuz of it
I would suggest you to play Souls games offline if you're planning on playing it on PC. There are way too many cheaters and hackers on PC.
i have a ps5, are people still playing it there?
i kind of want to enjoy the online content too if possible
Anon, I played Scholar in January (on PS4) and invaded people here and there. If Scholar is active, then DS3 is probably active as well.
thanks anon, you've been helpful
No, seriously... I am really not into DS3 PvP, but I spend time on DS2 a lot. The last time I played DS3 on PS4 was two years ago. I would left my summon sign in front of Nameless King and be called every 15-20 seconds with longest wait of 1 minute. I am really not the best person to answer you this, but if I'm going to make an assumption based on DS2 online acivity in the last 12 months, I would say yes - you will find players in DS3 with no problems.
regardless, you helped me out with your answer fren
np, have fun.
I didn't. :/
I did. 🙂
Funniest thing i had the exact opposite experience that the one you got and in addition DaS2 hackers are by far the worst ones with those shitty ass pots of acid.
DS3 PVP is the GOAT though
Is this a worm from the Demon's Ruins in the Painting of Ariandel?
CA mod is 2hardcore 4me
There's a greatwolf down there. Save me Yoel
im doing hybrid build right now, sword + shield + pyromancy and some miracles
shit's fun as fuck
beaten Soul of Cinder today and im currently playing DLC for the first time and im having a blast
i too wanted to start another playthrough of ER, but i don't want to before expansion comes out
but after playing ER dark souls 3 bosses are not as difficult, i basically went through enterity of the game without any problems and only got stuck on Nameless King
Dog souls 3 has no color palette. They darkened it so you can't see the vomitous green and pink roof tiles.
There's a bro behind this invisible wall
Grab the long sword and learn to roll. Congrats, you beat Dark Souls 3.
Dark or Quality are the two best for PvP. You can pretty much make any stat build work if you are good enough but for a new player, I would suggest Quality or Strength and run a beefy shield. Ideally, Black Knight shield if you can get it to drop from the black knight near Crucifixion Woods/Farron Swamp area. Greatswords will work fine on either one.
Quality is the most rounded setup for DS3 for PvE and PvP. Lots of weapon choices and damage and able to hold a solid medium shield like a black knight shield or Lothric knight shield or even Have's Greatshield if you struggle with rolling and have no sacrifice in damage.
Go for 39 Vigor 40 Str 40 Dex and ideally 35 Endurance and however much Vitality you need for your armor and weapons without fat-rolling (over 70% equip load just like ER).
The best place to cap your build for the most endgame PvP activity is Level 125-137
You want to have Ring of Favour +2, Prisoner's Chain, Life Ring +3, and Havel RIng +3 as your main rings. Never take off RoF+3 or Prisoner's Chain and swap Life Ring or Havel's ring to your liking for things like Chloranthy Ring +3, Hornet's Ring, Cat's ring, Llyold's Sword/Shield ring, etc.
Play Champion's Ashes
Aldrich is kicking my ass even on easy mode. Good mod.
Does easy mod tone down the enemy placement in levels?
I think it just does damage scaling. Even easy mode is still pretty hard, especially with the harder hitting enemies.
>Souls fans when confronted by any color other than gray or dark gray
This isn't the own you think it is.
