Darksider's artstyle is atrocious
it ain't CalArts, bro
She's not a human anon
you are atrocious
>they hated jesus because he told them the truth
God of war, warcraft and darksiders have shit art direction because they were inspired by warhammer AKA the franchise with some of the most retarded and ulgy desings in all of fiction
Her design is so garbage in game, holy fuck.
Why couldn't these fuckers stick to the original? Too inappropriate for leftist devs?
And her attack animations are so ass. I like that she’s a personality less bitch
The fucked up her personality as well. In the book, she was the most calm and level headed of the Four aside from Death. The name Fury came from her love of battle.
I'm almost sure that's not her original design.
If I'm not mistaken people used to post things straight from the book and it looked completely different.
Can't find any of that around though.
It's a mod.

It was concept art from over 10 years ago. Her comic outfit is somewhat more modest, but still exposes her tights and breasts. Honestly, I liked it a lot more, not because it was skimpy, but because both the coloring was good and it gave her a battle mage vibe. Her new design is kinda bland with that grey and black armor, and is a stark contrast to the more colorful designs of War, Death, and Strife that usually mix multiple different colors like red, yellow, purple, black, white etc.
In my opinion, pic related would be a good middle ground. Keep some of the armored parts from her new design, but have her wear her purple mage robe from the comics.
>first game is more like zelda: simple, serviceable combat with an emphasis on exploration and puzzles using items and abilities
>second game is more action oriented with a big influence from actual action games like DMC, with a bit of ass creed style climbing exploration thrown in. considered to be the best in the series.
>third game falls for the "souls like" style crap with a huge emphasis on combat but that combat is incredibly simple, rigid, and unsatisfying to play with and an emphasis on "le prepare to le die xD!"
i don't even have an issue with fury as a character, the game was just fucking shit.
The first two games were pretty much Zelda + DMC/GOW + Prince of Persia. People tend to forget that DS1 also had climbing and wall running, but it was unrefined and clunky compared to the second game. Honestly, all Gunfire needed to do is take the combat, level design, and boss fights from 2, as well as the smaller more focused over-world of 1, and they would have had the prefect Darksiders game.
I would say DS3 was even more like Bayonetta gameplay wise in the sense that the devs seemed to want you to do these epic counter attacks after successfully dodging. But it had absolutely no depth at all compared to Bayonetta. So the game just ended up being this fucking boring slog of dodge/counter/dodge/counter/dodge/counter/dodge/counter. It wore out its welcome very quickly.
>considered to be the best in the series
But it's the truth
Its a low bar
But that is still the truth.
He's right. The general consensus is 2 > 1 Genesis > 3. Same with the protagonist of each game. You can seethe about the loot or open world, but in terms of gameplay and level design, it's the best the series has to offer. It also has Jesper Kyd as the composer, which automatically places is above the others.
Hasn't he been a composer for the 1st game as well?
No. Cris Velasco and Mike Reagan were the composers fo the first game. Velasco also did that OST for the third. Jesper Kyd only worked on Darksiders 2.
I remember trying DS3 and it felt like a fake game you'd see someone playing on a tv show or movie
it was just so blame
even the isometric DS game was more interesting to me than this shit, I actually finished that game but with this one I got bored in an hour and never went back
>first game is more like zelda
Maybe the dungeons but it always seemed like a gow clone to me with how you are supposed to find scattered pieces to upgrade your bars, the combat and most of all press button to execute enemy
No place for a horse was the best game
I liked darksiders 3 combat
I didn't play it at launch though and as far as I understand they added a different combat option after a while so maybe I played that version
Strife game when?
bro, your darksiders genesis?
Can any fans of Darksiders explain to me something? Is Darksiders Genesis the same guys who made the originals? What about Darksiders 3? Didn't they have a completely different team too?
No and no.
Joe Mad, who is the creator of the series was the director of Genesis and Airship Syndicate is partially comprised of former Vigil staff. Gunfire, who made DS3 were also initially founded by Vigil staff, most notably David Adams, who was the founder of Vigil.
Vigil games made 1 and 2, then thq died and the studio split into airship syndicate and gunfire games.
Airship made genesis which plays like a top down action RPG.
Gunfire made 3.
did they ever actually make a sequel to the first game or is everything a prequel? The first game had such a cool ending then they went on to blue ball for a decade.
I think the aim was to have each horseman have their own game, before finally having a 4 player co-op title where you destroy the council and probably samael with all the horsemen.
Not sure if Genesis counts as Strifes game or if that'll start where 3 ended.
Sucks, war and death are boring, I would have liked to see what a real mainline game with the other 2 would have looked like.
Only thing I didn't like about war was that his block was on the same button as dash. He's supposed to be the strongman that overpowers enemies but the block/parry felt so off that I never really used it.
Death however had great combat flow and i'd say was the best of the lot.
Fury has the feeling that her game was shifted into being a souls-like too far into the game and something seemed strange as a result. I can't remember exactly what but I think the upgrades or power of weapons made them jump between underpowered and overpowered. The weapons themselves were nice to use though.
I think they count Genesis as Strife's game considering how the leaks claim the next game is the big four player co-op continuation to 1's ending.
Same time they released Genesis, they released pic related where you're shooting guns from 3rd person perspective in a landscape very similar to Darksiders games. So maybe Remnant started as "Strife Game" and at some point in production was changed into its own title instead.
I'm pretty sure they reused a lot of assets between this and Darksiders 3 because I've seen those desolated streets before. Plus the hooded hobo outfits the generic humans wear in Darksiders 3.
Remnant is a damn good game, but yes most of the assets are from Chronos, which were later repurposed for both Darksiders 3 and Remnant.
First game protag War is one of the most boring main characters in the history of video games, always saying the most generic edgy hero stuff possible and nothing else. Then every other Horseman actually has some personailty so they turn out to be more fun characters. Death is cynical and sarcastic, Fury always resorts to violence as the first option and acts like a mix of Vegeta and Xena. And Strife is the wisecracking Michelangelo of the group, only thing missing are skateboard and pizza.
War is generic Liam O'Brian character. Funnily enough he works a lot better once Strife's introduced in Genesis and plays off him really well.
Genesis also has the better playing War, the whole secondary weapon deal is super fun.
I find War more interesting compared to Fury. He's gruff and edgy, but he's an anti-hero done right. On top of that, I like how he's man of few words and lets his action speak louder. One moment I've always liked in the first game was when War kicked a sword to the demon raider in the gladiator arena. Without words it showed that War, above all else, values honor, thus he also values a fair fight, unlike Death or Strife, who are more pragmatic are often will use deception or traps in order to win. Moments like this were sorely missing in Darksiders 3 and do a degree in Genesis.
>mfw the frame drops beating this on the original PS4 on apocalyptic
I should be given a medal. When I saw they were making a Switch port later on I was baffled. Does it run in 480p on it?
