How does it feel to know your generation has not made any noteworthy games that you resort to re-releasing and remaking old games?

What? "Milennial-zoomers" aren't the ones publishing the remakes.
no excuse. you are just as guilty for buying them as the old guys in suits are guilty for publishing them
I don't buy them
millennials didn't create capitalism though

gtfo with that indie pixel trash made for pc gamers because they havent had games in 20 years
>poor mimicry of what older generations did decades ago
Sad!
I don't know, and I don't care. I don't play said re-releases and remakes.
>millennials
so that's like what, early 90s to 2000 or something? most of those people would have been entering the games industry in like 2010, by which time the industry was already on a decline overall and most of the actually interesting shit was indie
>zoomers
they literally aren't even in the fricking industry yet because they're still in school
Millenials are 80s-mid 90s.
>most of those people would have been entering the games industry in like 2010, by which time the industry was already on a decline overall and most of the actually interesting shit was indie
Hey wait a minute, doesn't that mean that millennials actually are the cause of vidya getting even significantly shittier, especially everything after 2012. So OP was half right?
the decline began well before millennials got involved but they continued it
Not really zoomers fault. Whole market is pozzed by now. Back then it was mostly white dudes in their basement making games. Now its multibillion dollar companies who just don't give a frick about their fans. Also israelites with their troony politics.
Do you think Web 3.0 and the push for decentralization of everything could help fix video games?
>Back then it was mostly white dudes in their basement making games. Now its multibillion dollar companies who just don't give a frick about their fans.
Every time i think about this, i'm wondering why talented and passionate game devs aren't teaming up to create indie companies to make good games. It would probably be easier nowadays than in the 90s for example.
They do but they can only make so much. Usually they only have one game going and that's it. They can't keep up with Ubisoft or EA who have multiple teams working on multiple games.
>Get a few of your friends together
>Spend all the money, resources, time and energy to develop game which takes around 2 years to make
>Make one of the most fun games of the past few years
>Nobody buys the game because it's not a well known franchise, not quirky enough to be a meme game for streamers to react and/or laugh at, it's likely too much of a video game for influencers to take seriously in current video game industry landscape, graphics aren't realistic enough, etc
>Game flops
That's not true. You had a lot of niche titles that made it. Darkest dungeon or rimworld for example.
Great games that make it and are new IPs from indie devs are very much the exception not the rule. Cuphead, Hollow Knight, and Shovel Knight are also examples of indie games that "broke out" if you will which, again, part of the few exceptions.
Yes but they still exist.
>The semantics game again
I hate this place and have no idea why I keep coming back.
You were implying they all failed.
I was being general despite using the word "nobody" but I guess I should have said "usually" so you could better understand.
This is ridiculous and there's really no point in me trying to reason and get into a useless argument. Especially this early in the morning.
I believe that if more talented, passionate devs formed small teams where they aren't ruled over by suits instead of joining the large corporations, we'd get more well known indie games.
They do, but all of the 80s kids stopped playing video games and all that's left are casual millennials and zoomers who only play goyslop. The market has changed and so too must the games.
Taking risks for art when financial independence is getting harder and harder to reach, joe brandon is inflating the dollar to nothing and half of your clientele will find a reason to call you a racist? No thanks I'll just use my skills to make banking software for megacorp.
This. Capitalism ruins everything it touches.
Name 2 good games made outside a capitalist context.
don't care, didn't ask, troony
Wtf is this cope image I've never seen a zoomer wearing a mask
How many more years until Ganker moves on to complaining about alfies instead of zoomers?
It’s called late-culture chud. When a culture reaches a very late form and decays, it begins cultural cannibalism, that is devouring all its old great things that are considered the best.
>milennial-zoomers
what the frick is that
97 zoomer here, that's fine. I just like playing retro PS3 games
But the PS3 has no gaemz!
I'm playing TLOU right now it's horrible, it's just a cutscene simulator interspersed with 15 minute stealth sections
00-zoomer here
Shut the frick up, b***h
