No, but now I think I get what you were getting at.

First, I would use my similar physiological features to pretend I am the same as them, despite my coming from a vastly different culture and religion.
Then I would slowly integrate into their society while keeping close bonds with my real community.
I would make sure my community uses their resources and connections to help only other members of our community, while condemning my enemies whenever they practice the same nepotism.
Eventually, members of my community will occupy the highest levels of government, industry and finance.
I will then use my community's influence to convince our enemies to open their borders to people from culturally incompatible nations, while I fanatically stress the importance of keeping my own community pure.
I will use our financial leverage to pressure enemy corporations to spread our ideas through media and academia.
We will convince our enemies that they are evil and should feel guilty for the actions of their distant ancestors, in order to convince them to further open their borders to millions of people.
Eventually, our enemies' culture and social cohesion will degrade to the point of critical vulnerability and instability, and my community which has remained pure and cohesive will rule.

The intel motherboard I have no idea how I bent the pins. The board was on the floor and I must have put something over it by mistake, I have no clue.
The AMD chip is easy to guess: I removed the cooler. It was a 3700X with the default cooler for 2 years. It was stuck like glue and when I managed to remove it, the CPU came together with it. One of the rows was completely bent. Easy fix, but boy did I sweat...

Mongols absolutely destroyed germanized Hungary with their knights and the Teutonic knights who fought together with them. Nothing stopped the mongols, the only reason they went back is because the Khan died of old age and all the generals wanted to return to the Khan elections and after that the horde never returned to it's full force again due to inner turmoil

They also destroyed the entire golden age middle east who were ahead of Europe at the time. In fact they are the main reason why such a contrast developed between the middle east and europe despite the region being on a very similar development level even long after the muslim conquests

It can't be overstated how ridiculously strong the mongol horde was at it's peak. It was the strongest force in history before repeating firearms.

The mongols didn't even come close to conquer Europe though, they were literally stuck raiding Poland, Hungary and Bulgaria for over 100 years before the eventual retreat, and the only reason that happened was because there was no united european alliance against them. Poland for example was alone fighting the mongols for all that time, but safetly hid in their castles that the mongols couldn't breach, if even a small alliance would have formed against the mongols they would have been pushed out with ease. Read up on how the Hungarians eventually defeated the mongols and you'll realise how useless they would have been against the larger european countries.

In short, Hungary bought and adopted the western style armor and heavy horses, they built walls around important towns that produced food which made raiding for resources impossible, the mongols failed to capture strong castles that the hungarians built 60 of during the war which made it so the mongols had a sword against their back as the advanced further inland (which made supply trains extremely hard to manage), the terrain made the massive horse based mongol army fight starvation during the late fall, winter and early spring times, the larger and larger european forests the mongols had to fight in the further in they went made it so the heavy knights had an advantage, etc etc. If the mongols struggled fighting Hungary for decades, then what do you think would have happened if they went to war against the holy roman empire that not only had thousands of those castles, but a much larger army, overall population, economy and equipment? They would have been crushed

Just superior Roman strategy and leadership to outmaneuver the phalanx with the manipular formation.

      Anonymous

The Roman legion's tactical advantage is overrated. The reason that the phalanx lost to the Romans was (aside from the occasional rough ground making it difficult to deploy) the fact that Philip and Alex had intended the phalanx to work like an anvil to the heavy cav's hammer. But the Diadochi never managed to maintain and utilize an effective heavy cavalry force like that of the Companions. With the result being the phalanx being easily circumvented and compromised in its purpose.

Hell, the Diadochi even disbanded the elite Silver Shields veterans of phalanx soldiers. They had it coming. Only Pyrrhus was truly a student of Alexander in this regard.

        >countercharged by auxiliary cavalry
Even if the charge was successful and the maniple routed, they'd run right into several maniples behind them.
That's why the Romans didn't just beat the phalanx under certain conditions (without cavalry, on broken ground). The Romans beat the phalanx everywhere they encountered it and in every form.

          Anonymous

          >into Roman heavy shields and pilums
Nothing sturdier that the Macedonians didn't encounter in their conflicts against the Greek City-States' heavy infantry for example and the Sacred Band.
          >get nailed by skirmisher slingers on their approach
The same way they got nailed by Persian archers and skirmishers?
          >countercharged by auxiliary cavalry
The same way they got charged by Iranian heavy infantry (which was miles heavier and more dangerous than the Romans' equites since it also comprised mounted skirmishers)

Dude, the Macedonian army under Philip and Alex survived all kinds of shit. From heavy infantry, to skirmisher tactics of all kinds, to heavy cavalry, to scythed chariots, to elephants. They built essentially land to invade an island and fought their under these conditions to a win.
You think a properly lead (not even Alexander-tier) and fully-utilized Macedonian army can't beat a Roman one? This is Roman Republic era that we're talking about.

Macedonians (and Greeks in general) fell due to internal division and conflict between themselves, as well as misusing the phalanx. The phalanx was never at fault by itself here. Proof is that it survived well into the Pike and Shot era in the fricking 16th century.

This is categorically false considering if you actually read into the individual battles you'll see a trend of the Phalanx smoking the Roman frontline in every battle.

But the nature of the cohorts allowed the romans to maneuver while the phalanx could not, drawing them into bad terrain or basically false retreating and re engaging when the phalanx breaks or has a gap.

The phalanx was defeated by versatility and superior compartmentalization(cohorts could act and react quicker) not raw tactics
          >Get nailed by skirmishers
The phalanx is literally designed to block and dilute arrow fire with how the sarrissa are formed in formation.

            Anonymous

In all those examples I was addressing the supposed heavy cavalry that was to basically make the difference between victory and defeat for this phalanx-based army. Which the more I think about it, its funny
            >outfit and train heavy infantry to be unbreakable and move as a cohesive unit
            >then just use them as a diversion for the real force: the heavily trained heavy cavalry
No wonder the greeks abandoned that shit, not even Rome could afford that.
This whole argument is like saying a hundred thousand plate armored individuals would win against the Legion. Like yeah, but nobody could afford that shit.

Anon.. do you even know where the expression "pyrrhic" victory comes from and do you know the meaning of this term? Sure they lost the battle, but that was mainly because that was the first time the romans were pitted against a hellenistic state, it was early on before their military reforms and yet the phalanx costed Pyrrhus just as many casualties. Not to mention they ended up losing the war either way kek'd

all tactics are overrated compared to the logistics of it all. Rome could levy frick huge numbers of motivated troops whereas the greeks had to rely on colonies, reluctant locals, and mercenaries. any victory against Rome would've been pyrrhic. Same shit happened to Hannibal.

          Anonymous

Logistics are honestly the ultimate weapon and will never, in any capacity, have less value than any actual tactical maneuver. Having functional supply lines, order within military structure, access to replacement weaponry and armor, knowledge of the region, knowledge of the enemy, etc., all of these things are winning battles before they have been fought. No nation on this earth has ever been dominant without them, and most "unstoppable" empires have collapsed the second logistics began to fall apart.

They're not suited for maneuver warfare because they're static emplacements. They're fine as part of field fortifications or deployed against enemy fortifications (to shoot over them) but it's a bad idea to use them where they can be easily overrun. Massed field artillery wasn't a thing in those days.

While pinned have cavalry flank and hit in the rear all the while my own hoplites/legion looks on in horror as the Libyans die and the phalanx freaks out from being hit in the rear. A cluster frick will then ensue of hoplites trying to retreat and cavalry cutting them down. There are other/better methods of removing a phalanx, I just like watching Libyans die.

Mobility and range is king in warfare, always has, always will be. Man dominated the planet when he picked up a rock, and deployed hit and run tactics against mega fauna. To this day, against any opponent, this remains the best strategy in organized conflict. Phalanx was on borrowed time the second it got utilized, same applies today to armor/tanks, which didn't survive a century before becoming obsolete.

No, they were fine and would have dominated if the other side was doing the usual. But they used that new tactic to surprise the cavalry and defeat their charge. You can see at the beginning of the webm, the infantry is positioned on the other side of a hill out of sight, and use retreating troops to lure the cavalry in.
