I don't understand why people buy games day 1 anymore.
It's just not worth it. You are paying to be a beta tester. You're PAYING THEM to be QA. It's silly. Just don't do it, let the normalgays do it for you.
99% of games, you lose nothing by just waiting a while. Hell, you might even realize you're not hyped anymore (happened to me numerous times).

Maybe for you (and me), a purchase is an informed decision based on the desire for a good product or the need to make a good investment since our money pool is scarse.
For anyone who can spend $70 on a game like it's a dinner downtown and even more on a high-end PC, it's a small trade-off.
They can always refund, wait for updates, regret the purchase and move on.

Even if I have the money wouldn't want my first time playing the game to be a subpar experience, combine that with the fact that by waiting I get the game for cheaper, with more content and with fixes and it's a no-brainer to me. I guess if you were really waiting for the game and you don't have a backlog it's hard to resist the FOMO, but even I was waiting for the game and now I'm just gonna wait a year or two.

That's cute but lets see a little about DD2 storyline

Once you reach Battahl, your about 2/3rds through the story and as soon as you reach the "gimme 15 wyrmlife crystals" your about 3ish quests away from reaching endgame where the entire world gets God Hand'ed and turns into hell.

At that point you have the option to evacuate every major city/town in the game by doing some extremely basic quests or you can just run straight to the glowing red dots on the map and end the game once you've cleared all of them or if you just ignore them for a few ingame days it seems like the game just says "Be a little b***h then, I'll just delete this part of the map as punishment!" and then it spawns one final red dot on the map that ends the game the moment you activate it. IDK if the final red dot also has a timelimit before it just nukes the entire map but my guess is that it doesn't have a timelimit and just allows you to run around the map that is now completely filled with strong monsters and drakes. Pretty much every quest that is even tangentially related to the main story also gets deleted from the game the moment you reach endgame, IDK if there are any engame specific quests though since I didn't find any but I doubt it since the game reaaaally wants to rush you to the end at that point.

Your pawn turns into a not-dragon and becomes more selfaware, it then goes bonkers and snatches you up so that it can take you up to the bossfight. The ending boss (it's hard to even call it that) is literally just a loredump on what the "Dragons Dogma" is and why it was created, that is narrated by The Observer while you climb around on giga not-Grigori's back mid-flight. The fight ends when you've been crawling around for a while doing frickall, you are then thrown off the giga dragon, pawn breaks open giga-dragons chest and then you plunge the mcguffin sword into its heart, "breaking" the cycle and killing the dragon permanently. You are then shown a short epilouge of what every character you meet in the story is doing after you broke the "cycle" and deleted yourself and your pawn from existance, it ends by showing the old geezer in the fishing village sailing towards the sunset before the game fades to black and rolls credits.

I thought so too but NG+ changes FRICKALL about anything in the game outside of just being a bog standard "play new game with old character" thing. The only thing that it actually changes is that you can now buy the 2nd best gear for almost every vocation at most gear vendors, it gives you the option to KYS with the mcguffin sword at any time and it gives the dragonforger geezer the abillity to sell the best gear for each vocation and:
      >Put a 24h ingame time buff on the player that gives them increased EXP gain, rank gain, Stamina regen and some other buff I can't even remember
      >"Upgrade" a single vocation skill so that it costs half stamina to use but you can only have a single "Upgraded" abillity at a time
      >"Upgrade" a single vocation so that you gain double stats on lvlup while playing as it, same rule as above
      >"Downgrade" any gear so that you can put new upgrades on it at different vendors

And yes is confirmed now that there is no hydra, evil eye, wieneratrice, wyrn or wyvern

It's pretty bad on PS5 as well but denuvo definitely does not help the PC version when everyone is CPU bound and denuvo has a measurable impact of 7% in CPU bound situations.

      Anonymous

not only that but capcom's enigma DRM and also the game being brokenly CPU bound where it can't even use multicores efficiently causes this mess.

Isn't the video saying the opposite or did I speedwatch ? That there's like 4-6 cores are at 100% in the city and it's just the npcs destroying the CPUs making it CPU-bound.

It was pretty obvious from when it looked like MHRise and ran like that that the problem originated from the CPU, meaning they can't really fix it unless they redo huge parts of the game's structure. You'll get a small boost when they remove denuvo in 6 months and that's it.

They brute forced a seamless open-world game on an engine that has not been designed for that. There are also two layers of DRM hammering an already hopelessly CPU bound game.

            >an engine that has not been designed for that
Am I not the only one thinks that? Sure, I'm no expert on video game engines. But ever since RE7 and RE2 releases, I always had that impression that RE Engine was specifically tuned for creating real life-like visuals, but in enclosed levels. Then MH Rise came out, using RE Engine, and it looked like ass. And it wasn't just Switch's fault.

Capcom did announce back in october 2023 that they're working on a big overhaul to the RE engine called REX engine that I'd imagine will make open worlds more feasible on the engine but I'm guessing that will debut for Monster Hunter wilds.

Don't worry, DD2: Dark Arisen will use REX.
No, you will not be able to upgrade to it from base edition. You'll have to purchase it again. No, there will be no discounts for vanilla DD2 owners. That will be $70+tip.
