I guess you believe FF turnbased games happen also exactly like that by waiting for the enemy to strike and wait 1 hour in your menu.

You are a moron if you don't understand this simple thing.

Okay, let's play a game, I take a revolver, point it at you're face and press the trigger, are you literally telling me you would have enough time in the two seconds it take to pull the trigger to do a 360 backflip and hit the gun to throw it away?

            Anonymous

So you are moronic and don't understand whatever you see in turnbased games isn't 100% happening like that. They are not standing infront of each other. It's just for simplicity. They are actually moving around depending on agility or skills and perks whatever the game may be.

So you're saying turn based games have moronic rules for the sake of being utterly autistic?

It's simple - big guns like this actually lose effectiveness in CQC situations IRL. Especially when you're in a CQC situation with a fricking alien significally above the level of a mortal human being.

get off your chair, get a crumpled piece of paper, and try to throw it into your wastebasket from 4 feet away

try 10 times and tabulate the results

now imagine you are in a life threatening situation, your wastebasket is moving and possibly trying to mind control you, and raised your brother as a zombie

It's kind of anti-grind because you're always on a time limit, both in the individual missions and the ongoing strategic goals. You can delay deadlines to prepare more to a certain extent, but as far as I know there is a hard fail state through time management even discounting the fact that taking longer to get things done will only result in the enemy being more advanced when you're forced to do it.

Being this close is bad for shooting shit if you have a long gun. Good game should account for which weapons are good for pointblank ranges like shotgun and pistols. Ideally being this close should let the player use a form of CQC. Bayonets, Knifes, a hostage grab, hand to hand.

The defense is that Xcom players simply enjoy missing every shot. Even that 65% is a lie, by Xcom math you have about a 20% chance of hitting that shot.

because although the game has paused time, in real time the movement, chaos of the moment, moving enemy would mean in that particular moment you may of missed.

Can't blame them. The first couple hours of Xcom 2 is the worst.
      >being marked is basically guaranteed death
      >if one unit drops it's a nearly guaranteed squad wipe because of le wacky reinforcements
      >random missions can be nearly impossible because of being stuck with rookies and objectives that basically require them not to be rookies

RNG is a terrible mechanic that almost never works in any turn based game. The only exception is Pokemon where you're allowed to choose between 100% accurate moves and high-risk high-reward inaccurate moves.
