Dickass thief games

I've played thief 1, 2, & 3, tdp, dishonored 1 & 2, styx 1 & 2.
What're some good sneaky games?
Also, why aren't there any games like dark and darker, but properly Co op, so you can dungeon delve with your bros? They do all the fighting and lame wizard nerd shit, while you stealth about disarming traps and nicking shit?
God I wish there was a game that captured the vibe of old school d&d without being married to replicating the actual tabletop rules. Would have thought blobbers would have evolved into real-time dungeon crawling simulators by now!

    Splinter Cell seems obvious.
Also Ghost of a Tale is neat. And you should try Dark Mod.

    Barony.

    Hitman series obviously.

also, are top-down rts games ok?
Shadow tactics and Desperados 3 are essentially stealth games, you can ghost them or do non-lethal runs. They play like Commandos

One of the splinter cell games had co-op stealth missions where you could boost your partner up to a higher ledge plus other cool stuff.
I vaguely remember trying to do it on shitty internet back in the day as a teenager.

problem is I cant run the game now on modern hardware shit is not compatible. plus the control scheme was wonky as frick

It's due to the shitty anti-piracy crap. Just pirate it and it should work.

Gonna be honest with you chief I'm in the same boat. I want to play a thief game but not the Thief games
Thief Simulator 2 is too short and barebones as it is
I just want to steal shit. Like, I like how Shadows of Doubt nails the whole "drown yourself paperwork" aspect of the detective, I want to do the same thing but corporate espionage, with a bit of Splinter Cell shit when I'm hitting a corporate place, then have it shift seamlessly into the San Andreas home invasion missions when I'm hitting a random house in a ghetto, to maybe a bit of Payday when the place is a bit fancier - I still their laptop, I gotta break into it and reset it etc.
While I'm rambling about a game that probably doesn't exist I noticed there isn't really a game set in a high tech futuristic setting ie. Deus Ex-level tech or Cyberpunk 2077-level of technology. Imagine having to break into each individual's copy of the internet just to see if they have something worth stealing before actually breaking into their physical space

Level design is what made thief so good, it's one of the reasons why stealth in skyrim is shit because there's only one way through everywhere

Stealth just doesn't really lend itself to co-op. Have you checked ut Aragami?

yeah my mate and i played it, and had a bit of fun. It was a little too repetitive though.
Styx 2 was co op, but it did make it too easy. I wonder if the best way would be to just have the sneaky thiefy stuff as one aspect of a co op game with multiple classes. It sorta works in something like baldurs gate or divinity OS, where they have those mechanics, but it's not the main focus.
That said, friendly competition between two sneakmasters in some neato thief map would be breasts. You both have to make it out else you both fail, but you could have one guy get nicked so as to serve as a distraction, then have to break him out of jail or summat.

There was this online stealth game called "Of Guards and Thieves". Team of thieves and a team of guards, thieves were supposed to steal specifically one of the many stealable items and reach the exit. Thieves had night vision so they could see in the shadows and guards had flashlights. Was really cool but no one plays it anymore

I played that for a little bit a few years ago. Was pretty fun, shame to hear it's dead now.

never got the hype for this. the stealth felt rigid and my dislike for the artstyle probably didn't help either.
