        Nah, anons grievances are real.
That part of the game with the couple is genuinely terrible filler garbage and easily the worst part of the game. I cannot fault anyone for dropping the game after that point.
I have no idea why that part is mandatory and why they put so much effort into that shit.

MULE and gaymen camps are easily spotted and avoided. The worst one is probably at the craggy shithole around the Collector, but once he's on the network you'll have player jump ramps and bridges everywhere.
Even when the camps start getting MG emplacements, they're not that bad.

lou isnt sam, the BB from the cliff flashbacks is sam, lou is a regular bridge baby totally disonnected from the wider backstory of the game; cliff thinks bb is his because bb is attached to sam, he's misunderstood who he is calling into the beach

I just started playing it (only got my new pc last week), completely blind. So far I am having fun, this game evokes the same feelings I had when I played Vangers and Ex Machina as a kid, even though cutscenes are too long and lore dumps were written seemingly for morons. Or by morons. Or both.
I just made it past the lake and visited all 3 prepper bunkers, I have a couple of questions though:
Can I permanently get rid of bts in an area? I haven't killed any, besides the squid boss at the port, do they go away if I nade all of them or will they respawn when I go to sleep?
Are mules gonna be more of a threat later? So far they aren't really a threat, I don't even have my guns equipped, I just waltz into their camps, punch everyone and take their shit. Is this normal?
Also will the homosexuals from the network ever stop calling me, holy shit I just wanna deliver shit in peace
    I play offline btw.

A core theme of the game is connecting the cities with the justification being that we are stronger together than alone.
The online elements feed into that theme and have a direct impact on gameplay.

Mules get better equipment as the story progresses and will be a much bigger threat as a result.

No, I myself was very skeptical of it and yet I honestly think it's one of Kojima's best games, beating out most of the MGS franchise. If anything, I wish it had some sort of NG+ that carries over some of your unlocks/progress especially if I want to experience the story again while retaining my progress.

I would argue that game actually become much slower when you reach lake not city

        >and on top of that few hundreds pointless deliveries to make
        >drive on same roads over and over and over again

as someone who only watched the story - its not.
its also the ultimate prove that mgs 4 and 5 were not a product of konami sitting in kojimas neck, controlling his every move, but a lack of somebody who does just that.
he needs a minder to keep his autism in check or else he becomes his alter ego - kojimbo.
the self-referential, washed-up hack, who gets celebrated because he was good at some point, but critics dont play games, so they just assume the new games are good aswell.
and so they celebrate him some more and the cycle continues.
wouldnt recommend. you did not miss out.

It makes me sad to see so many adults lose their sense of wonder at such young age. Game is great and they are only able to see flaws everywhere where there isn't any. I haven't had sex in seven years yet it didn't make me this grumpy. The majority of people are just weaker I guess and have weaker wills.

Anyone who hates Death Stranding hates videogames because Death Stranding embodies everything that is good about videogames. It's one of the best games from the last gen. To me Kojima and Death Stranding embody what videogame development should be all about. Trying new things to bring an interactive story with interesting gameplay, throwing conventions out of the window by letting your creativity run loose and in this regard, Kojima delivered. That panel with Kojima, Mikami and Suda from 2007 aged so well. Both Kojima and Mikami spoke on how they longed for creative liberty as Suda had - to make "games that don't necessarily sell". And look now, Kojima creates Death Stranding, one of the most bold and ambitious games in our recent generation.

Metal Gear, which I liked less, had it's core stealth mechanic pretty tightly wired. Death Stranding had the beginnings of a great hiking/route building simulator, but felt half done because they put so much attention on dead filler, like the stealth/fighting. The hardest part was the lore. I ended up just skipping all cut scenes in the last third. It's a level of pretentious and stupid that not even the worst film Hollywood has shat out can compare to. I find it hilarious that Refn was in the game.

no it's an amazing experience. Most of the earnest criticisms about this game I agree with. The exposition dumps, stupid dialogue, celebrity shoe-ins, etc. It is all retrted kohjimbo autism, but removing all that and you have a very relaxing game. Cut it to ~20-40 hours and you have a 8.5+ game. Still love it because it really is a magical experience with moments like when you first embark on those difficult missions. Every step counts and you feel the weight of the world on your shoulder, but you keep going. Slowly but surely you are closer to your destination and that sigh of relief feels so good.
