Capitalism is not a sentient force. It's not responsible for anything, people are. Everything being bad is because people are bad. Hating capitalism is pointless. You have to fix the people if you want anything to get better.

Capitalism is not the "main force" behind everything bad, this is the Marxist view that defines capitalism as a thing that must be fought.
When you find a problem and blame it on "capitalism", as the vast majority of morons will do because they weren't born to think, it's the same thing as having a problem in your garden and pointing the finger at "ecology". "These pests are destroying my plants, damn ecology! When are we going to replace ecology with something that works?"

In short: most critics of capitalism don't understand what capitalism is, they just have a simplified view based on pseudo-scientific definitions of a quasi-religious ideology (Marxism).

I haven't bought a single game from Blizzard since I made the mistake of buying Diablo 3, and will continue to not finance Blizzard because of their unimaginably shit decisions, and will continue to criticize their shitty games and continue to name their executive board, their dogshit staff inserts, and their pathetic attempts at deflection when and where relevant. There is no gain to be had crying about "Capitalism" with Blizzard's games because I can choose to finance other games instead, and offer others to play their various competitors instead.

Every "system" of political-economy is designed by and for elites, and usually involves breaking the backs of the masses to further their pleasure. Possibly at the expense of long term real prosperity. And the elites propagandize their "system" as the only righteous way.

Except for recently, somewhere past the 1700s. After that point the social elite just became the best of people and were rewarded justly so with a higher more palatial quality of life relative to their greatness.

At this point I'm ready to be thrown into a rural village and become a farmer or something.

You know the system has failed when 70% of the people in the usa are living pay check to paycheck. Most people are in slavery (wage cages) The reason why s*** hasn't hit the fan completely yet it's because we have many modern day comforts weed porn games boxes delivered to us with a tap of a finger ect and so many things we take for granted.
Americans are slaving over debt paper that's been debt since we went off the gold standards in the 70s And over all something that can be printed out of thin air.
It's beyond a circus clown show at this point.

Your options are gonna be throw a shit ton of your debt paper into digital bitcoin and hope you get rich by the time it explodes in the 2030s Or grind till your 80 years old ( Because I can promise most of you will absolutely not retire since social security will be used up by the mid 2030s and pensions) or you can live in a pod with universal basic income which is what 90% of the zoomers are going to choose because screw it I'm never gonna get a nice car in real life so I might as well just get it in grand theft auto 7 with ultra realistic VR graphics.

just throw me in tribalism at this point and give me a cute village wife I had a good life of video games and some hedonism which I don't regret but mine as well live out the second half of my life with some kind of meaning cause I'm definitely not going to slave away in a absolute kinked scam.

As I mentioned in another post, you critics blame the "ecology" for the pests in your garden, instead of trying to understand which mechanisms within the "ecology" explain what you are seeing.
To continue with the ecology analogy, in one environment there may be diversity and in another there may be only a few dominant species. The explanation that it is a "natural consequence of ecology" will only appeal to the totally lay or the compromised who are not seeking true knowledge. The honest person will try to identify the ecological mechanisms that explain what he is looking at, make tests, conjectures, deductions, inductions, etc. and only then, when he has a good view of the true cause of the phenomenon, start drawing conclusions.
I don't see critics of capitalism (and, to be honest, not even defenders) making any kind of more complex analysis of the economic system in a more global way, and the possible causes of the deviations that occur. In fact, the few who do criticize specific things, such as the Federal Reserve Bank, are dismissed by both the right and the left as lunatic conspiracy theorists.

Capitalism is good because it rewards people based on their merit, and doesn't rely on the judgement of flawed individuals to enforce their personal idea of morality.
It is also good because it is a self correcting system which produces maximal efficiency through mutually beneficial transactions.
Unlike other systems, it does not rely on the abolituon of greed. Greed is inherent in people and cannot be removed. Capitalism harness greed for productivity. Other systems have to just hope that greed will magically disappear once implemented, which is ridiculous.
TL;DR: Capitalism is a Nash equilibrium which naturally produces decent distribution of scarce resources, and relies on minimal rule enforcement. It's not perfect but we don't live in a perfect world

NTA but it really doesn't reward you on merit overall. Not that any alternative is better, but a bunch of people are rich today just because their ancestors made it big.

The anon that replied to you was not me, I wrote the post you replied to.
Obviously many incompetent meritless people do very well in capitalism, through crime, nepotism, corruption, etc. This doesn't change the fact that for the vast majority of people, their earnings are proportional to the amount of value they generate. It is in the best interest of corporations (not despite but in fact directly because of their greed) to reward their employees based on their merit. An undercompensated but highly competent worker can find better pay elsewhere.
Compare this to the salaries of government beaurocrats, the vast majority of whom do absolutely nothing of value but are still paid fairly well.

I remember reading that a person can only know/trust up to 200 people, so a socialist structure can work in small communities but doesn't scale.

Capitalism or any '-ism' is not inherently bad. Just what we do with it. Capitalism unchecked can definately be thing. There are a lot of instances where making a bad choice, makes money in capitalism, so, that happens.
Capitalism with, good solid ruling and learning from the past (so yeah, with maybe some other influences - isms, like socialism ) is the way to go for now I think. Not only that, we are highly, highly inept to change system on whim even if we wanted to. We can't go back, half the world population would starve just 'changing systems'
We are on this train now motherfrickers, let's see where it takes is.
Part of me thinks we'll be OK. Part of me thinks it will be like one of those mouse plagues you see on documentaries - suddenly the food is gone, and they start eating each other until millions of mice disappear practically overnight.
But we cannot get off this train.
    That's for sure.

I would not say that capitalism is inherently bad, but how exactly are you going to solve the tendency of the rate of profits to fall, or the accumulation and hoarding of wealth? Let alone the generally at times soulless nature of capitalism.

        >solve the tendency of the rate of profits to fall
It doesn't need to, this is the system correcting itself, if your company can't provide value to anyone they will lose money
        >the accumulation and hoarding of wealth
How is this a problem? One person having more doesn't mean I have less, value is not raw production.

        >Capitalism is good
        pfft hahahaha
        >based on their merit
HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA MERIT HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAH
AHH HE THINKS HIS PARENTS TRUST FUNDS IS MERIT HAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH

        >HE THINKS HIS PARENTS TRUST FUNDS IS MERIT
It's merit from his parents, who decided to save it and pass down to their children.

Some people are just better at generating value than others, and you can generate value by being a charismatic bum or knowing the right place and right time to put your money.
