Why isn't it a full-fledged franchise with a Switch sequel? It's in the top 50 of best-selling games OF ALL TIME. How can something like that just be a flash in the pan?

NDS was fricking HUGE and it was something every normie got. Even girls who barely or never played games got one, and guess which kind of games they bought?

Because it was fricking fun homosexual.

I don’t know why Nintendo hasn’t capitalized on it though

a lot of people. it was a good pet sim, it made fun use of the DS's new gimmicks (the dogs reacting to you taking the system out of Sleep Mode will always be a neat touch), and it was generally just really cute and relaxing.

it would've probably been an easy seller on mobile, but they missed their window with that.

there were a shit ton of kids who liked dogs and DSs at the time, who knew. Having a handheld gaming device that let you interact with creatures via touchscreen and microphone was cutting edge at the time. This is why the DS as a platform was so successful.

It was actually Nintendogs that made the DS sell like crazy, originally.
