>did you REALLY beat the game if you used rewind or savestates?
No, you didn't beat it as intended, so you didn't really beat it... however, that doesn't really matter as much as one might think it does, as long as you're having fun it doesn't matter if your completion has an asterisk to it.
does it matter? it's not like you're streaming or trying to prove yourself to anyone. if you really want to save state and beat an old game no one really gives a shit. and you see the ending. the question really should be do you feel like you've beaten the game if you've used save states. in that case, no.
I only use save states as a means to quit the game if I need to stop playing and there's no save point immediately accessible. Sometimes I use fast forward to skip unskippable cutscenes if I died and have to watch it again. Also, I'll rarely use FF if I'm grinding.
no
No.
No.
quads
It's a feature provided by Nintend𐐬, so yes

Rewind, no. Savestates, depends on if you're scumming a single moment or just using it to save backtracking time.
how about you ask yourself if you had fun

I have fun in my own way, and the word of a Gankerermin have the same value as nothing.

it's a concession for not having reliable hardware like in the 90s. so, i guess yes.
