When your entire argument revolves around sales estimations based on reviews, don't you think pointing out 50% of Forspoken's reviews being activated outside of Steam is perhaps a bit self-destructive towards your own case?
You're basically saying half of the game's sales were claimed at a reduced price, lowering the estimated revenue these sites are reporting on.
Estimations are multiplications of user reviews, that is the only metric they can base it on. Forspoken is getting review bombed so those numbers are inflated.
The only legitimate Steam store data is that it currently ranks #118 in top sellers, and that it hasn't even met FFVIIR's peak concurrent users in its release weak.

I have and it's a 5/10 max.
I got 25 hours in the game and just got to the final fight/chapter, granted I play slower than other people and I was doing side stuff and exploring. I've heard the game can be beaten in 8 hours, so that anon is probably right. If you went straight through the main story and did no side content or exploration then I could see the story only taking like 10 hours to finish.
They put a lot of bloat/collectables in the game to give the players something to do, classic Ubisoft looking map with shit all over the map. I imagine if you did all the side stuff and collectables then it would extend the playtime significantly.

People have been speculating Square intentionally pulled this on Sony, tying paying for some kind of exclusivity and marketing for Forespoken, which has it for longer but its also on PC immediately, to FFXVI, which is much shorter but fully exclusive during it. Some kind of package deal.
I'm on the final chapter/fight, and I enjoyed it but it wasn't worth $70 and it is very poorly optimized. The combat is fun, and I enjoy the parkour magic system, but frankly everything else is awful. The characters unlikable as frick, I hate literally every character, and most of them are just background characters with no personality. The ones that are more important are still unlikable. Frey is a horrible protagonist. The world is pretty empty, I mean there is like 1091029012 little side things you can do but it's all bloat, it's there to keep you busy and make you stronger, but I didn't die once in the game and I played on normal mode. I was actually overpowered/leveled in some fights, it was crazy how quickly I melted bosses HP, once you learn to make combos the bosses HP just disappears, it's not hard to become overpowered in the game, so in a way there is really no reason to 100% do everything since the game presents no challenge at all, I guess maybe on hard mode it might require you to grind out your stats more, I'm not sure.
I'd be curious to see what they do in sales/profits on it, but I can't imagine it'll be good. I'd like to say that maybe they'll release that the game was a massive failure/frick up and learn from that, but I doubt they will. I also hope they realize not to charge $70 for things that clearly aren't worth $70, hell it wasn't even worth $60. In a way I have buyer regret, though I will end up finishing the game and I'll most likely get around 30 hours out of it, obviously I didn't get $70 out of it, if I had played it for about 50-60 hours then maybe I would feel like I got most of my moneys worth...maybe. All in all it's a mediocre game like most critics/people said, it's easily no more than a 5/10, though I could MAYBE push it to a 6/10, but no higher.

I got 25 hours in the game and just got to the final fight/chapter, granted I play slower than other people and I was doing side stuff and exploring. I've heard the game can be beaten in 8 hours, so that anon is probably right. If you went straight through the main story and did no side content or exploration then I could see the story only taking like 10 hours to finish.
They put a lot of bloat/collectables in the game to give the players something to do, classic Ubisoft looking map with shit all over the map. I imagine if you did all the side stuff and collectables then it would extend the playtime significantly.

People have been speculating Square intentionally pulled this on Sony, tying paying for some kind of exclusivity and marketing for Forespoken, which has it for longer but its also on PC immediately, to FFXVI, which is much shorter but fully exclusive during it. Some kind of package deal.
I'm waiting for it to drop in price. It looks like a great $20-30 game.

I'm on the final chapter/fight, and I enjoyed it but it wasn't worth $70 and it is very poorly optimized. The combat is fun, and I enjoy the parkour magic system, but frankly everything else is awful. The characters unlikable as frick, I hate literally every character, and most of them are just background characters with no personality. The ones that are more important are still unlikable. Frey is a horrible protagonist. The world is pretty empty, I mean there is like 1091029012 little side things you can do but it's all bloat, it's there to keep you busy and make you stronger, but I didn't die once in the game and I played on normal mode. I was actually overpowered/leveled in some fights, it was crazy how quickly I melted bosses HP, once you learn to make combos the bosses HP just disappears, it's not hard to become overpowered in the game, so in a way there is really no reason to 100% do everything since the game presents no challenge at all, I guess maybe on hard mode it might require you to grind out your stats more, I'm not sure.
I'd be curious to see what they do in sales/profits on it, but I can't imagine it'll be good. I'd like to say that maybe they'll release that the game was a massive failure/frick up and learn from that, but I doubt they will. I also hope they realize not to charge $70 for things that clearly aren't worth $70, hell it wasn't even worth $60. In a way I have buyer regret, though I will end up finishing the game and I'll most likely get around 30 hours out of it, obviously I didn't get $70 out of it, if I had played it for about 50-60 hours then maybe I would feel like I got most of my moneys worth...maybe. All in all it's a mediocre game like most critics/people said, it's easily no more than a 5/10, though I could MAYBE push it to a 6/10, but no higher.

Forspoken is a heavily promoted big project from Square Enix, one of the biggest videogame developers in the world that spent years on the making. It's on the same tier as Elden Ring, maybe it's an even bigger release given how From Software is vastly less smaller and famous than Square Enix.
DMC5 passed the finishing line years ago champ. Forspoken has only ran 1 mile and managed to break both of its legs.

Pretty much. Barry is a massive Tabata fanboy, and the guy had some ties to Forspoken before he got the boot. It's also the same team, but pretty sure Luminous is done after the middling reception of FF15 and the negative reception of Forspoken.
