This is what concerns you? Not UAC/20 UAC/10? + a single UAC/5 combo supported by two SRM4s at close range?

I wish I didn't such shit with KGCs in MWO, but I just do.

Low slung weapons and being W I D E sucks in a shooter. Takes luck and coordination to make it work. Or put PPC's in the top mounts.

I can deal with low slung hitboxes, Annihilator is one of my best mechs. But KGCs are just damage magnets, especially if the enemy gets the high ground. And obviously ANHs mostly have better mounts.

It's clearly armed with 2 UAC20's, 2MLAS, and 2 SRM4, possibly with Artemis. That was an old non goose meta build.

MW3 takes place during Operation Bird Dog, Operation Bulldog, and Task Force Serpent's attack on Huntress, Inner Sphere forces having the odd Clan mech salvaged from Smoke Jaguar in their lances was common over the course of them.

How the frick did they get snuck on when they had a fricking RAVEN in the team? Was the mechpilot just not paying attention to the oversized sensor and electronic warfare suite bolted onto the mech?

    >Mechwarrior solidifies Battlemechs as being slow, bulky, tanks on legs
    >Meanwhile in the actual lore:

    >By focusing on these easily translatable signals, the neurohelmet can help communicate a pilot's intentions to the DI computer; for example, whether a pilot wishes to avoid the enemy 'Mech it's running towards or throw itself forward to charge into it. As they became more advanced, neurohelmets could translate a pilot's intentions in other ways too, such as how delicately to pick up an item with their hand actuators.[1]

    >Thanks to the combination of physical controls and neurohelmet, talented MechWarriors can perform great feats in their 'Mechs, whether sidestepping an incoming missile or performing a handstand in controlled circumstances

Sadly barring dedicated cutscenes it's likely impossible to demonstrate the nimbleness and dexterity that they have in the books and lore.
Took this this long just to put in fricking melee in.

All they need to do is abandon the asinine "simulator" aspect when it comes to the action gameplay. Leave that shit for the mechbay or managing a merc company.

i prefer the slow, weighty, tanky feel. nimble mechs like the EVAs in NGE are cool but there's something about that style that just feels different. the plodding, bipedal tanks bristling with missiles and lasers in MW have always felt more like vehicles of war to me rather than stuff like NGE or gundam that lean more into the "suit" angle

        Anonymous

NGE for all its allegory-ness is one of the few "mecha" shows which actually justifies the concept of giant bipedal mecha.

having their range limited by their power supply was a cool touch, but i seem to recall that idea falls by the way side pretty quickly and their power cables end up being as long as they need them to be at any given moment

            Anonymous

I mean, they're necessary because (massive NGE spoilers lmao) they're zombie cyborg space aliens and you need zombie cyborg space aliens to fight regular space aliens. They're also piloted by kids because they host "souls" (more like consciousness) of their mothers and only the parental bond helps pilots to connect with the machine. Also the episode where they hook the entirety of Japanese power grid to a big fricking laser gun was cool and shown you CAN penetrate AT-fieldo by conventional physical means, it's just massively impractical at the point humanity currently at.

i liked how that was handled in the rebuild. felt anti-climactic when he finally fires the enormous japan cannon and fricking misses. pasting the wienersucker in one shot felt much more satisfying

they're not really worth it past the first one, but that scene in particular stands out as actually being a nice change to what the series originally did

Well, that's good for the games, but in da lore they are really much closer to Gundam and Eva and other Jap mechas than people know, it would be nice to see them that way one day

i picture a MW melee fight to be essentially pacific rim jagers punching the frick out of each other. damn i love that movie

Never played SA, didn't have a Dreamcast and had grown out of Sonic by then. I've just always loved the Cata as a mech though.

First I've heard of it. Looks kind of boring, but it's cool that someone out there at least wants to make games in this setting.
