these are all the games i have enough time in to form a solid opinion on. bias and personal preference comes into play of course but i tried to base it mainly around if i think the game is good and not whether i personally enjoy it. fuck dead cells though
discuss my roguelite tierlist

>subset games
they are the opposite of suda51, instead of style over substance, they're all substance, but no style. which honestly, games need some if you want to really highlight or make gameplay or "feel" be memorable and good. I can't in good conscience give intro the breach an S tier.
gungeon is also better than NT but I'd lower both one tier.
RoR2 suffers from little content, so that' an understandable placement. It's fun with friends, especially with the more than 4 players mod. Id put it on bottom B by one node at least for that little extra.
Darkdest Dungeon too high. shit is RNG mashochism, one of the few games i tell people to just play on the easier difficulty because the game doesn't respect yourtime.
Isaac lower than NT is wrong. NT also suffers from little content and attention.
Slay the Spire deserves to be in A.
> ftl and into the breach
personally i feel like ftl is a really good game. the gameplay of realtime pausing and management is done very well, even if you could consider it simple. the only problem i have with it is the final boss, which is kind of an antithesis to the rest of the game. the multiverse mod also makes the game even more incredible (though mods don't count ofc). as for into the breach, i personally just think it's an incredibly well done tactics game. if you play on hard, there are so many turns where you have to spend so much time thinking about it in order to mitigate everything the enemies are doing. i really really like that gameplay type of unravelling a problem, and finally coming to a perfect turn, or even near perfect turn, is so satisfying. it's also why slice and dice is that high in a tier.
>darkest dungeon
this game has a really satisfying class and party system. i think the rng is defnitely bs but once you get later on a lot of it can be mitigated, and doesn't become much of a big deal. a system like crits is always gonna add some bullshit rng to the game, but i think in dd it's fine. it creates those tense "well fuck" moments and gets you stressed and panicky, like your party ingame. though i realize it's not for everyone. and yea, i do agree about radiant mode. honestly, i think the game should've had radiant as its main mode and the others the harder modes. the late game grind is too obnoxious
1/?
>isaac and nt
it's hard to compare these two since they play so different. i don't necessarily think one is better than the other, but i gotta order them somehow. i just think isaac got completely ruined by afterbirth and ab+. repentance revived some of my enjoyment but that might just be my nostalgia in playing antibirth when it first released. i just really really dislike how much random bullshit got added into isaac and think it makes the game a lot worse. and i agree, nt is just kind of barebones, and really only slightly picks up in content when you loop. i like nt enough to where i can put it in a because the runs are short and the gameplay is satisfying enough
>sts
i just don't like deckbuilders and don't think they're that fun or well designed (lol). sts on harder ascensions is just kind of annoying to play rather than enjoyable
Enter the gungeon literally cant be S
T. Someone who 100% it.
>Gungeon above Nuclear Throne
moron.
nuclear throne to s
dead cells to s
gungeon to b
into the breach to a
isaac to b
darkest dungeon to c
risk of rain 2 to b
monolith to a
these are my adjustments
>anything
>above Noita
Care to explain yourself anon?
Not him but
Doing anything but going down is fucking tedious as shit and boring since you need the perks to eliminate as many gameplay mechanics as possible instead of being properly balanced around them
Do I need to talk about the slow ass movement speed and downtime?
Or the overreliance on a black hole + tp bolt + greek letter wand?
i didn't like how 60% of noita's content is locked behind secrets you gotta spend a fuckton of time into prepping for and going through. it's just bad game design imo. and while the whole simulated stuff is cool it's not enough to keep me invested in the game. wand making isn't as interesting as people make it out to be. it's a fun game but not for me
i haven't played rogue legacy
Where's Rogue Legacy?
Isaac is S tier for certain
you may not like it but no other game did synergies as good as isaac did
Good list but Dead Cells is way too high up
>roguelite
ItB is a combat puzzle, can't judge it objectively. If you like it - you like it.
FTL is great, would place it right about there. Same with Isaac.
Don't feel like Darkest Dungeon really qualify for whatever
>roguelite
is supposed to mean, but it's a good game.
Hades is great, I would place it higher.
StS is a card game, I don't see it as much of a
>roguelite
but it deserves to be higher.
RoR1 is cute and might be fun in a team but I didn't feel like doing more than beating it a couple of times.
WoL pretends to be more than it really is.
Noita is Noita and not a
>roguelite
really.
In the same ballpark as ItB, really. If you like it - you like it.
RoR2 has very nice core gameplay, I would put it much higher.
Dead Cells is very tight and, technically speaking, deep and varied but is also very samey and pointless.
Among these games, I'd rank them something like that:
>BoI, Noita, FTL
>Hades, DD, StS
>RoR2
>RoR1, Dead Cells
>WoL
I would also add Nova Drift as another barely a
>roguelite
and put it at the top as well.
>here comes the guy who wants to shuffle words and definitions around all day
nobody cares man
Cant trust anyone who thinks RoR2 was good
It was fun but holy fuck if it was balanced like shit and it still feels incomplete after they stopped updating it
Shit feels like it never left early access
RoR2 is mindless fun and it offers a lot of depth to get better at.
I don't feel that it's
>balanced like shit
after spending some 250 hours in it.
>Acrid
Now try playing rex and getting only the garbage items that break when your hp falls below half
You literally cant use 3/4 of your moveset or lose your already worthless shit
Don't pick them up or scrap them?
It's not about Rex, I scrap Watches and Elixirs on everyone unless I have a build that enables Watches.
The game is not too RNG-heavy nowadays, really.
Even less so, if you allow yourself a tour to the Command Artifact challenge.
>Find item
>Cant even pick it up and keep fighting to scrap it later because my skills break it
>I have to wait to kill everything to be able to reroll this dogshit item that shouldnt even exist
Not to get into the whole
>The scrapping mechanic is a crutch and shouldnt even exist
And the fact they literally havent even updated the game to what they promised years ago
Remember the free update that was supposed to come with the paid dlc?
Or all the alt skills?
Literally a skill issue.
Also, I couldn't care less about the things you are so desperately looking to complain about.
I don't give a shit about
>promises
I play the game and the game's pretty good.
The next thing you'll say is that you disagree with the devs' political opinions or something.
Acrid players are this braindead i guess
Enjoy playing the easy mode i guess
Enjoy your seethe
Damn they actually patched nova drift
Draft is fun.
>Hades that high
Barely a fucking roguelite
Shit literally has no content variety aside of boons
op here. now that i think about it some more i'm not sure why i said i tried to base this list on whether i think the game is good or not. there's only like two games on that list that would place differently if that was true otherwise, the majority are just "i had fun and think the game is good (my own opinion)" and the placements reflect the levels of enjoyment and objective strengths. i'm retarded sorry guys
not objective strengths, the strengths i perceive the game to have*
I wouldn't really put into the Breach that high at all. FTL's higher, and Darkest Dungeon is frankly C-Tier. Noita's also absolutely S-Tier.
Overall not the worst list I've seen.
into the breach is garbage why do people like, its simple, has no replayability
>Literally get to mix and match teams
>No replayability
>No complaints about hades tho, which literally has no variety aside of spreadsheet editing
Lol
