    so they cope with shit like frame interpolation and upscaling
    while all that had to be done is more job by developers to use machine learning and implement better lighting that would not be as taxing on a chip as rtx shit is

      40 series can legitimately handle rt its like a 10 fps drop is cyberpunk, there was a time anisotropic filtering cut your fps in half till ayyyti released their 9000 series cards, even games without goytracing run like shit and look no better than they did in 2017, the difference 2017 games running at 60+ at 4k on a 1080 ti while modern games run at 40 fps 4k on a 4090

      So what? 1989? 1988? All those 16bit consoles were all beating the graphics drum in comparison to the nes. I'm sure someone even older than I am could talk about the various 8bit consoles/pcs marketing themselves that way too. Certainly arcade game development was already pushing muh graphics by the 80s.

      Proof in right, dlss was a mistake good intentions sure, but the result has been disastrous, the normification of pc gaming as well, devs having to prioritize lower end consoles legitimately helped push graphics

    Shader compilation will still crash framerate to single digits regardless.

    Getting from 70 to 100 fps isn't really a level of optimisation relevant to PC devs nowadays, it's the fricking inconsistency which is the problem.

    There's no evidence of that. Games are harder to run because of more computationally-heavy effects, and they have each gen since the dawn of development. DLSS looks better than all other AA save SSAA and gives a perf boost to boot. The rest is just AMDrone cope.
