Yeah. It's been solid. Also glad that I upgraded when I did... about a month ago, I was stumbling around in the dark in the middle of the night getting ready for work and ended up accidentally knocking my 40' TV right off the table. Knocked my PS5 right off the stand, thankfully didn't fall on the floor though. Both the TV and the console still work perfectly fine, but if i hadn't upgraded when I did and still had my old PS4 in that spot, it probably would've been unusable. Thank god for this thing being a bulky mfer.
I think it’s cool that my LG tv remote works to browse the menus. I mainly use it to play blurays. Xbox series x has the better games, better graphics and controller
The console is an absolute BEAST TO USE! The Dualsense controller feels so good in my hands that even replaying older games feels like a new experience with it. By far my favorite console of all time. I've been playing Destiny 2, Elden Ring (duh) and just started The Last of Us Part 1.
Yeah. For context, I have a ~4 y/o gaming laptop for grand strategy/4X games, a 1080Ti desktop for emulation, modded games and pirated shit, a couple of Switches (including one hacked) for gaming with the wife and kid, and some older hacked consoles (PS3, Wii U, N64).
Besides the N64, on which I play Smash Remix with the friends and family, I probably use my PSQuintuple the most. For me, it's the most comfortable controller since the Duke, it's a nice easy plug-n-play experience, and I have a big library from the PS4 era. It's worth noting that I got the PS5 with some controllers and peripherals for free, so everything good is automatically a net positive.
PS5 wasn't an ordinary launch. It came out mid-Pandemic with hardcore stock shortages and chip supply issues. They are only just now started to get the stock supply up to scratch. They aren't going to release a new model any time soon, especially with the original model being pretty much perfect.
XSX and PS5 are literally the best bargain in gaming ever.
First gen of consoles that can do more than 1080p and 30fps consistently.
4k support, 120fps support, RT support (low settings yes but still), SSD that increase comfort 1000x with lightning fast loading times.
Obviously those consoles can't do 4k 60fps, ultra settings, RT, all a the same time. But it still impressive how good the performances are for the price.
Unironically can't wait for the gen to ACTUALLY start, I want to see what big studios like Naughty Dog, Santa Monica, Insomniac and such will produce by using every inch of computing power the PS5 has.
Especially considering what they were able to accomplish with literal 2010 hardware on last gen (TLOU 2, Tsushima, Spider-Man, God of War)

Yeah, it's been fun. The dualsense gimmicks are pretty cool and Nioh at 120hz was fun. I use s Deck for everything else but the PS5 is my main system for new releases.
I like the fact that I have one and didn't overpay for it, but it has fricking nothing in terms of games. The only PS5 exclusive games I've played are Returnal and the Yuffie DLC for FF7R (my PC is too garbage to run FF7R in a playable state)
