None of the shit he mentioned matters or affects the quality of videogames Nintendo makes whatsoever. It's all just a cope because Ganker is too afraid to admit the real issue. It's that they still make their videogames mainly for casuals/non-gamers despite the WiiU failing.

If you look at all their recent non-sports shovelware releases they've all improved pretty dramatically.
Mario Party Superstars was way better than Super Mario Party
Kirby and the Forgotten land was way better than Star Allies
Splatoon 3 was way better than Splatoon 2
Metroid Dread was way better than Samus Returns

I have no reason to think TotK wont follow the same trend.

I have to disagree with most of this.

      >Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Splatoon were too cinematic and worse than previous installments (mandatory tutorials and quick time events, really?)
      >Dread was okay, but filled with problems
      >Mario Party Superstars was just Nintendo rehashing their old games

I don't have much faith for it.

There's no QTEs in Splatoon and the tutorial has been mandatory in all three games.

The QTEs were referring to Kirby. As for splatoon, that just makes it worse because the game doesn't allow you to figure things out naturally. It's terrible game design.

      >Nintendo shits out a couple golden eggs per generation, but otherwise creates mediocrities like everyone else
They don't create any mediocrities, they just fund them. None of their shitty games are actually made by them, while most of their great games are. The main things they make
      -3D Mario
      -3D Zelda
      -Animal Crossing
      -Splatoon
      -Pikmin
      -Mario Kart
      -Ring Fit Advnenture

      >I really hope they are hiding HUGE fricking things for this game because if not, this might be a trainwreck and might put Zelda on ice for a while.
It's obvious what they're hiding, underground. We saw them go underground in the first trailer, we see caves added to the landscape in others. The game is gonna be climbing up the sky islands and exploring underground caves. If there's like 50+ islands and 50+ cave systems to explore then there would be a ton of content, but we'll see how much is there when the game comes out.

Yeah this game might actually flop. The only reason BOTW was received well was due to literal shilling. If you recall it released at the height of Nintendo Doom posting and how if they failed one more time they could potentially bow out of the games Industry. Nintendo won't have pity reviews to rely on anymore everyone will be reviewing the game fairly and accurately

Link crossdressing isn't a big issue. It could be considered a funny joke. what isn't a joke is that they literally strip your freedom away, so you HAVE to do that sidequest exactly the way they want you to do it. You can't bumrush the village and fight the warriors, and you can't even sneak in either. Technology and game mechanics present in OOT's version of Gerudo fortress are somehow incompatible with BOTW.

BOTW isn't perfect and there's plenty of stuff in it that can be improved upon, but I still don't understand how people can call it shit and actually believe what they're saying. It really is a remarkable achievement in game design and there's a reason it's been used as a benchmark for basically every open world game since. Whenever people complain about shit like weapon degradation or korok seeds I assume they're either shitposting or haven't actually thought critically about how the game works and what it's trying to do.

The game is practically a tech demo, but it completely and utterly BTFOs pretty much every other open world game on the market. I’m interested to see what else Ninty pull out of their asses on this next one.

I don't think it's shit I think it's a huge disappointment. Starts very solid on the plateau and squanders all that potential in its world from there because it can't carry the weight of its frickhuge open world. The only thing it has over other open worlds is traversal and physics, it flounders in every other respect and even the traversal can only work because there's nothing in botw's world that matters if you glide right over. People just give nintendo massive passes for everything and are quick to claim masterpiece without a shred of scrutiny.

This means Toon Link is 17, just like "Adult" Link.

Doubt. Aonuma just rapes the lore with every game because he could care less about it, unlike Koizumi.

The Master Sword didn't have the power to put Toon Link in Seven-year Stasis when he found it, and once it was recharged Link had already proved he could handle himself so Fi didn't bother.

Didn't they confirm somewhere toon link was 12?

        Anonymous

Toon Link is 12, he wasn't forced to age up because that only applied to the prophecy for the Hero of Time

Every time they "confirm" something they contradict themselves. Young Link has been anything from 5 to 12 years old.

          Anonymous

Young Link has only fluctuated between 9 and 10, his age is 5 internally but that doesn't apply to anything story-wise. WW Link being 12 is more of a reference to Zelda 1 Link than anything regarding OoT

I do believe Botw2 will be insanely good. It's been in development about as long or longer than the first botw, except now the groundwork has already been laid so they've been able to do all sorts of stuff they couldn't originally do. Plus, Nintendo hits home runs when it comes to flagship games. They've been pouring all their effort into this game for years. It should be pretty great

    Ehhhh.
I feel like they're gonna fumble TotK.
It really just looks like BotW with Skyloft DLC. All we've seen is Link morph threw a block and jump of land like he did in Skyward Sword.

To me BotW was a 7/10.
Hate that they keep doing the quasi-cel shaded artstyle. The game had no textures, just good lighting and such.
The gerudo were the only good "designs" and thats just my wiener talking.
The story was good, but not great. The story certainly was no OoT, MM, or TP.
Frick crafting. Frick breakable/non-permanent weapons. Give me the hookshot, bow, bombs, and boomerang and I'll be happy.
Most of the suits were either use once and never again, or just never fricking use.
In fact I'd say the main improvement was the ability to climb.

TotK doesn't seem to be bringing anything new to the table except muh Ganondorf, muh Skyloft, muh Link with 1 arm.
I bet all the unanswered questions from BotW will continue to be unanswered. I don't think much at all is gonna change to the land map.

I'm not optimistic. It just SCREAMS Skyward Sword, and I hated SS. Thats what pissed me off about BotW and now this. Zelda teams to be mistakenly under the impression that people loved Skyward Sword and wanted more of it. So now we're going back to Skyloft for more SS call backs, that nobody likes or cares about.
Hell, a big reason I was excited for BotW or a new Zelda in general in 2017 was to get the SS taste out of my mouth.
Not only that more Skyward Sword shit story. I fricking HATED that BotW adapted so much of SS story into it.
Hylia, the Dragons, and blah blah blah.
If Hylia was forgotten because she's an old legend, it'd make since she's not in any other Zelda. But instead not only is Hylia remembered well and is made basically the Jesus/Mother Mary of the Hyrule religion, both SS and BotW seems to entirely forget the core of the religion; Din, Nayru, and Farore.

      Anonymous

      >I fricking HATED that BotW adapted so much of SS story into it.
They have the same director, SS is going to be referenced in everything going forward. They want it to have the same importance in the setting as Ocarina

        Anonymous

It never fricking will. SS was a bad game with a shit story. The only purpose SS should serve at all is an explanation as to why its always Gannondorf, Zelda, and Link. And frankly Zelda II was good enough for the Zelda question.

The abandonment of Din, Nayru, and Farore is bad to the plot and a bad idea. I would much rather see the 3 goddesses explored more than this Jesus Hylia shit. I would love the idea of Din as the goddess of power and her tolerance of Gannondorf to be explored.
Just like I thought in SS, the asian like dragons have no place in the heavily medieval Europe like Zelda.
The technology of the past didn't work in SS with the robot desert and robot pirates, and it doesn't work in BotW with cyber bows, swords, axes, drones, and Wii U/Ipad. Trains and Cameras made more sense than that level of technology.

        >Hidemaro Fujibayashi
Oh fricking wow, Frick this guy. With the astonishing exception of the Oracle series, this homosexual is to blame for Zelda being crappy for the last 20 years (except for TP which he DID NOT direct)
Get rid of this fricking twink and put Aonuma back in the director's chair. OoT, MM, WW, TP. Explains it all.

          Anonymous

Aonuma sucks ass too, WW and TP dragged the whole damn series down. He works when he's not in the driver's seat and when there's someone to balance him out, that's why the N64 games turned out as well as they did.

            Anonymous

TP is one of the best Zelda games and I will not pretend its not.
It is a great fricking sequel to OoT.
You Could argue that it's a modernize OoT clone that realize heavily on call backs to OoT, but it is still fricking great.
The Clawshots are a great replacement for the hookshot/longshot.
The ironboots are great and them being magnetic is a fun new idea that was implemented well.
The horseback riding was way better than OoT's.
TP's designs were great. A great 2006 modernization of OoT and MM designs and artstyle.
The story was great. Not only OoT 100-300 years in the future, but 3.5 fricking realistic love interests, Illia, Midna, Zelda, and the circus fan girls.
Zelda behaves like an actual monarch.
Took the sword combat of WW and vastly improved it.
A motherfricking sword fight with Ganondorf
Yes, some shit weapons like the dominion rod and spinner.
But frick those babbies who say "muh grimdark". It's not.
Yes it is not bright rainbows and clouds like its predecessors WW and MC. The colors in the game are realistic.
MM story is definitely darker. TP was the sequel meant for the boys who were now teenagers who played OoT and MM.
I am convinced anyone who though muh grimdark and hated TP is a post 1994 babby who's first impression of Zelda was WW, MC and FS, and think Toon Link is real Link.
