I didnt even pay fullprice when they were 49.99. Even though they were complete games. To get the almost complete edition you have to spend over 100 now. Microtransactions not included ofcourse.
Many AA and all AAA game studios are forced to have microtransactions and other shit like loot crates and battle passes since the average consumer will always want to pay less up front and more over time. Also because of increased costs to develop, they cannot make profits from first time sales alone anymore even with digital games.
People should support Indie and most AA games more and a AAA game crash could happen since more graphics = more money = more development time = more workers = same risk to get profit or not but with increased money put into product and more risk to not make as much profit.
it was just a easy way to waste that money on vidya >dont own any >want to play whatever exclusives of each console
i learned my leson with ps3 and 360 to never buy a console if it doesnt have at least 20 games worth playing
No I pirate everything I play and buy on sale what I can't pirate.
With the sheer amount of games out nowadays I have no urge to play the latest and greatest.
My backlog has a fuckton of 6th gen games in it still.
When was the last time you purchased a full-priced game and it was worth the money? Since the '80s games have been overpriced. Now it's worse, since developers can opt to release an unfinished game and maybe fix it down the line. The only solution is to pirate. Not because you can't afford to buy these games, but because it's the only way to give your middle finger to this industry. Voting with your wallet doesn't work; you've gotta play the games for free.
No, the last game I paid full price (Fallout 4 at $60) was such a fucking disappointment that I will never buy a game unless it less than $30 or heavily discounted. Even if the "perfect" game comes out right now I will wait 2 years for it to be patched/fixed and get it on a +50% sale.
no
games dont deserve even $15 anymore
No because I dont kneel to garden gnomes
Meds
You will never be a real woman.
but you will
Based

Cringe
Your ancestors are proud of you, son.
Games should be even less because there is less quality control now than before.

Anything that's not Nintendo goes on sale within a year
Does anyone here have knowledge about business in the game industry ?
Yes. It’s all ran by garden gnomes
xD nice try, but a right answer would be nicer
I'm the CFO of videogames, sup?

Why haven't wages raised to even half the rate of inflation over recent years?
If people were paid what they should be the country would collapse
I’ve spent about $1,000 on video games in the past year. None of those were $70. They were either cheap indie games on sale or older games.
The only games worth $70 released this year were remakes/remasters… but I’d rather just play the originals
>I've spent about $1,000 on video games in the past year
Fucking how?
>buy 2 consoles
there now you are almost at 1.000 wasted on vidya
Why would you do that though? What could you possibly need both for?
it was just a easy way to waste that money on vidya

He said video games, not movies
ok
>but switch
>buy all zeldas/mario whatever else
i guess that would be close to 800
Why would he need to play anything for the rest of his life but the 11/10 GOTYAY though?
goty dont meant shit anymore
I spent 1k on steam games not consoles
Steam sales
No

publishers can charge whatever they want for new games at launch
i will still only buy them on sale later on
I want to fug that corgi
No game worth $70 has released
TOTK is the closest but reuses too much content to deserve that price
And all the devs got a 17% raise to fight inflation + the usual 3% yearly raise to explain that rising price of video games right?
no. I wouldn't pay 60 bucks for one either.
No, the max amount that I ever paid was $10

Now insert income
I prefer to calculate inflation by hand.
That's what you fucking deserve for getting an education.
Man was not meant to build tools.
taking first year course in college doesnt equate you to being an "economist" you dont get hired for being an "economist"
The world is in this shitty state because of economists so I think it's fair to say they understand even less than brain dead lab rats
Nah bro the world is in this shitty state because humans are animal and have needs to fulfill while resources and labor are limited.
Why do normies just accept inflation as some natural occurrence? Don't they understand what is causing it?
If the talking heads on tv don't tell them, they won't know or care.
What's causing it, anon?
I have absolutely no formal education in economics. Please educate me.
that thing thats only legal if the goverment does it, i guess
Printing money?
4chan cries about garden gnomes and inflation but talking about raising wages is heckin socialism!
The only games I buy new are Nintendo games and I buy them pretty rarely anyway so $70 isn't really a big deal for me.

Then what am I paying for?
