My daughter is 13 and when I asked her if she wanted to get a copy of SS when it came out she told me "pokemon is for boomers". I haven't asked her about SV yet.
Zoomer here. 19 years old. I don't think its super popular
When I was a kid, there was one other guy at school who played pokemon, although he didn't care about it as much as me. All throughout both primary and high school I was "the kid who liked pokemon", nobody else cared about it really.
There was a brief spike in it being popular at my school when SWSH came out, but most of the people who bought that dropped it and moved on - looking at the switch accounts of the people I still have as friends one of them bought BDSP and none have bought PLA or SV
Now that I'm in uni theres more people who are into pokemon, but still not that much
>TL;DR: Its not that popular with zoomers
I disagree. When I was in middle and high school, pretty much all of my friends, or anyone with a DS even, was playing pokemon XY, Black, Plat etc. It seemed fairly liked and pretty popular, and those same friends are still playing the games.
But like
>do zoomers x
some do, some don't. zoomers aren't a single person.
said, zoomers aren't one person. Some will like the games, others won't.
Kids consider the Pokemon franchise a laughingstock
If any of them do play it it's for a week after their mom bought it for Christmas
Every Pokemon player is someone in their late 20's to early 30's
I'm 36 and play since the beginning, probably will always play, 50% of my friends play too, all in their 30s-40s, my wife plays too, I was 10 years old when I started playing, it's basically tradition now, we even play competitive offline tournaments 4 times a year.
Gamefreak doesn't think they're selling to gen z, they think they're selling to gen alpha. That's why the games are so awful. They think "it only needs to be good enough for very young children who can barely tell if something is good or bad".
The reality is they're selling to millennials, the younger gen X crowd, and a few older zoomers desperately trying to have something in common with their family

Majority of the players for modern pokemon games are unironically adults but of course they still won't give the player an option not to play as a kid
Because adults aren't buying the merch as much.
I do all though most of my Zoomer friends say the games are shit. They are correct
Is this an unironic question? Because if so you're moronic.

highschool in ~2010 is not a zoomer
Zoomers are from 1998 to now, so I have no idea how or why you're trying to redefine the ending point for Gen Z.
>to now
wrong
>steamrolls over gen alphas
That'll learn 'em!

Well guess it’s dying with its fan base unless they get their shit together
