Depends on what you can do on the second run. If it's just damage sponge enemies that's no good but changing up item locations and certain encounters could make things fun.
Yeah I like it when there's things you can't do first run that a second run enables.

>I'm going to do things again, but differently depending on how I feel this playthrough
what game?
what is this?
is it good or bad?
Boku no Jackie Chan
Every Tales of game has a new game + menu that allows you to spend a certain in-game currency to change the settings of a new game + run.
This can be used to adjust the game difficulty to your liking, alter EXP payouts, carry things over between games, etc. It's a pretty good NG+ system but it varies from game to game.
Pic was Tales of Symphonia.
does new game + changes anything in the game tho?
Do you think in flavour of the month 4chaneddit buzzwords or do you do the translations yourself before you type out your posts?
It's intentional buzzword dilution by lefty pol
It's one of those features that I rarely ever use, but would be unhappy if it weren't in the game. It seems like a very easy feature to implement so it should always be in.
It's only an easy feature if it's implemented in the most lazy way possible.
It can be fun to play again with stats maxed out if the game is enjoyable enough.
Who’s trying to censor you, you did t even swear or say any rude words. Just buzzwords. Get an independent thought
>janny now deletes posts if enough mad leftypol resetera tourists get uppity about it
lmao, dilate
newgame+ is goyslop mechanic
5 buzzwords
Explain your reasoning. What constitutes a so called “goyslop” mechanic and how does that relate to new game plus?
it's a way to artificially expand the value of the game without adding in additional content
like how fucking goyslop food chains use fake meat and artificial sweeteners
How so? It comes at a cost that is so insignificant to development time or budget that not having it in is just lazy. If you seriously think the value of a base game is rushed or impacted by the 2 hours it takes (if that) to add new game plus then you’ve got no idea what you’re talking about.
2 buzzwords this time, you’re getting there
you're arguing a strawman
I didnt even mention development time, budget or base game value
I just said it's a nonsensical goyslop mechanic with zero worth behind it and that you're an NPC if you love it, or if its nonexistence is somehow a deal breaker for you
autistic shitters be like:
>WTF NO NEW GAME +? WTF I CAN'T RUN THROUGH SAME SHIT ALL OVER AGAIN BUT WITH INFLATED NUMBERS??? DROPPED!
>you’re arguing a strawman
>>WTF NO NEW GAME +? WTF I CAN'T RUN THROUGH SAME SHIT ALL OVER AGAIN BUT WITH INFLATED NUMBERS??? DROPPED!

I always have my fingers crossed for a newgame+ mode, no matter the game. It adds an addition 2 points to whatever rating out of ten I’ve given the game in my head.
>NOOO YOU CAN'T JUST ADD MORE CONTENT TO A GAME IN ORDER IMCREASE ITS REPLAY VALUE I SHOULD PAY $70 FOR A 10 HOUR GAME
millenials were a mistake
not really. Most games it's the equivalent of playing on easy mode. There's not t hat many that add a proper hard difficulty for NG+.
This. That's why I always start a new game when I reply shit
Chrono Trigger helped get the other endings. I tried getting into NG+ Symphonia and P5 but those games are too long and not much changes.
No. Either it has nothing new and just makes subsequent playthroughs easier, or it arbitrarily locks content behind a second playthrough when that shit should be in the base game.
I don’t like new game + because I want to experience the game with its proper balancing when I replay it. NG+ doesn’t feel like I’m actually playing the game. I like how in SMT4 you can reset your stats but keep certain things, such as the endings you’ve seen being displayed on your file.
I like the idea of ng+, but I can't think of any cases where it's interesting
changing certain mechanics, item and enemy placement, maybe messing with level layouts or even some story beats
there's a lot of potential beyond slightly tougher enemies you can steamroll through with all your powers
I guess diablo 2 technically has a built in ng+
I would say the game doesn't really start until elemental damage kills you in one hit and there are mobs with immunities
I wish more games did that
Would you count games with multiple routes you're supposed to play through as having NG+?
Something like 999 or Black Souls?
I got the steam release of chrono trigger and I can't believe how slow it feels without the speed up from an emulator
Getting filtered by that? Wow
I already finished the game on the OG snes but playing JRPGs as a 31 years old zoomer... just feels slow
Not particularly no
When I finish a game it usually means I'm finished with it, only exceptions are relatively short games with multiple difficulties, like MGR or something
I enjoy going back and starting a new game for MGR whenever I feel like playing it. I've tried it's version of new game plus which is just selecting whatever chapter you want but shit is too easy with maxed weapons.
