Does anyone else do this?

I go to bed directly after work @ 5pm so I can wake up at midnight and play video games all night without sleeping then go to work @ 8am. I work a call center wfh so there’s no commute but it’s a harsh schedule, none the less. What’s wrong with me?

I did this in high school to great success. I'd get home at like 3pm and go straight to bed. Wake up at Midnight and play games for like five hours until it was time to get ready and head out for school. No idea why but all the adults at the time straight up SEETHED at the idea; telling me I needed to stop but couldn't explain why. The bitterness just made me double down on it.

Sounds comfy, I find that I'm usually operating better during the last 8 hours of my day so I think a schedule like this would benefit me

At first Lack of sleep creates alertness but after awhile you just get use to it and it’s more of a slog. Around 2pm I start to doubt what I’m doing because I become dead tired and can barely perform. It doesn’t help my diet is 95% carbs which make it impossible to sleep at times

I like to wake up about 10 minutes before work, but I work from home and play games my whole shift. I usually don't game on my weekends.

I tried to do the same before but just felt tired when I woke up anyway. Maybe it takes a week to adjust or something. Anyway tiredness from work absolutely destroys video game performance, you play like ass and when you notice it, you don't feel like playing because you know it's gonna be shit

If you prefer being fresh for gaming and tired for work rather than fresh for work and tired when you go home to game it makes good sense.
