does it matter what scart cable I get for this guy? I foolishly threw away my old ps2 AV cables a few years ago thinking I could use component on both ps1 and ps2.

>scart
emulate at that point
why would I emulate when I already have everything I need to play ps1 games sans a working cable?
So you don't need CD's
I have blank cds
Idk what you mean
Yeah and it takes time and space to use, store, and swap them
scart is as good as component don't be retarded
Allow me an addendum:
>component
emulate at that point
why? if you have a decent condition crt you should definitely use a high quality cable format like scart or component to play on original (but modded) hardware
What's the point of using a CRT if you're not using composite? If you want sharp pixels, flatscreens trounce CRT's.
Time and place anon
I play mostly in composite from 3rd to 5th gen and RGB Scart in 6th and arcade
Why would you shitpost instead of just shutting your mouth, he can play however he want and I gave him a cable recommendation
>What's the point of using a CRT if you're not using composite?
to have a high quality retro experience? back then we played through scart or component on crts
>high quality retro experience
Yeah that's playing these games on a flatscreen
Component/RGB/fart on a CRT is like ordering a vegan burger with cheese
bait
>flatscreen
emulate at that point
yeah you could well do that
The use case for old hardware is 240p composite
>emulating on a crt is retarded
What if you don't have a NES but have a Wii?
>The use case for old hardware is 240p composite
I was playing 480p/576i though SCART 20+ years ago maybe you're just retarded
Europeans had scart you poorfag
>emulate at that point
>emulate at that point
>emulate at that point
i think you can stfu at this point
A higher quality cable will have better shielding and provide cleaner output, I would not purchase a cheap one
yes, just make sure you don't get the cheap nasty ones
is there a particular brand you would recommend?
RGC or insurrection are good
Seconding Insurrection Industries cables. I use them for SCART on all my consoles and they work great.

Better value for money. My SNES CSYNC -cable is very good quality for its price.

Isn't SCART a bit much? I'm more for S-Video
it's euro hours and the site is filled with PALfags lately
at least I hope that's why they want SCART. such a thing is simply unamerican
Why would having the highest quality signal possible be a bad thing retard
>Why would having the highest quality signal possible be a bad thing retard
Composite is best for PS1. Scart renders PS1 games too clean, and fucks up the dithering used on mot PS1 games, thereby rendering CRT pointless.
The dithering on PS1 is actually hardware induced and is really only there if you play on original hardware
scart colors + jaggies = sovl
washed up composhit + poorfag "AA" = yikes
>cable warring like a console war
I wish you counts would just shut up, let people like what they like
>let people like what they like
>What's the point of using a CRT if you're not using composite?
Well I’m using a flatscreen and a retrotink so whatever gay
if you want to play retro gaymes (up to the 6th gen) you can either
>emulate on your pc with a modern screen
>play on original hardware on a crt (whatever cable you like best idgaf)
emulating on a crt or using retro hardware on a flat panel is equally retarded
>idgaf
>proceeds to give a fuck
idgaf about the composite vs component argument, they both have their pros and cons
igaf about retards who don't realize that they should buy a decent (based on their pockets and the available space in their home) crt before they literally become unobtainable
I bought a cheap RGB Scart cable off eBay years ago and it works perfectly. You should try that before paying for a more expensive option.
>cheap
>original ps cable
Isn’t this jp21?
Aren’t their pins completely different and not compatible with euro scart
>SCPH-1050 (JP-21)
>SCPH-1052 (SCART)
nta
yeah the japanese writing usually gives it away
Zoomers think that Scart cables are a new invention specifically made for PVMs.
my dad literally whipped me with one back in 2000 to teach me never to use composhit
