does it matter what scart cable I get for this guy?

does it matter what scart cable I get for this guy? I foolishly threw away my old PS2 AV cables a few years ago thinking I could use component on both ps1 and ps2.

why would I emulate when I already have everything I need to play ps1 games sans a working cable?

why? if you have a decent condition crt you should definitely use a high quality cable format like scart or component to play on original (but modded) hardware

What's the point of using a CRT if you're not using composite? If you want sharp pixels, flatscreens trounce CRT's.

I play mostly in composite from 3rd to 5th gen and RGB Scart in 6th and arcade
Why would you shitpost instead of just shutting your mouth, he can play however he want and I gave him a cable recommendation

to have a high quality retro experience? back then we played through scart or component on crts

yeah you could well do that
The use case for old hardware is 240p composite

if you want to play retro gaymes (up to the 6th gen) you can either
                >emulate on your pc with a modern screen
                >play on original hardware on a crt (whatever cable you like best idgaf)
emulating on a crt or using retro hardware on a flat panel is equally moronic

Composite is best for PS1. Scart renders PS1 games too clean, and fricks up the dithering used on mot PS1 games, thereby rendering CRT pointless.

      Anonymous

The dithering on PS1 is actually hardware induced and is really only there if you play on original hardware
