>this needs to end
When will people realise that this isnt the "normie pandering" they think it is, but rather a natural implementation due to breakable/interactable objects not standing out anymore in modern games like they used to?
In original RE4 you can spot a breakable crate from miles away. In modern graphics, they'd blend into the environment seemlessly.
Same with plants. People complain about plants glowing in modern games, but 90% of them would just blend into the environment, unlike those old games were you could instantly spot anything to pick up, because their meshes would stand out like sore thumbs.
I know you gamers have a huge victim complex and think anyone is out to ruin your games, but you're just barking up the wrong tree. >inb4 but thats a good thing, let people figure out things
Cool but that wasnt the case in the old games you praise so much either, because as said, those objects were standing out in them as well. just differently.
They're mistakengly identifying a byproduct of the issue as the issue itself, but if the way to fix said byproduct is fixing the issue, there's absolutely nothing wrong with complaining about it.
Was playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider recently. The plants and shit you can harvest are completely undetectable until you approach them or press Q. But at this point I'm just spamming Q constantly. Just make them glow again, I'm not rummaging through hundreds of bushes to pick some health items.
Not bait he's right. In the original the boxes fricking glowed so you knew what to break. You're just turning into the 'outrage' part o the internet. Soon you'll be thinking if you will ever be a woman too. The answer is no, you will never be a woman.
It's not pandering but it sure is an inelegant solution to this problem. Shape language is a thing and it would be a way better fit than duck tape on a window ina rural Spanish village. Have the crate texture a different hue and the shape just a bit broken, with crooked angles and visible gaps and you would achieve the same result in a more natural and credible way.
Sure but regardless of what makes it stick out like a sore thumb, doesn't change the fact you can see it easily.
The people against this think they're big boy gamers that can figure it out. They're also the same ones that would run crying that the game is too hard because they're not got enough herbs and ammo, because they walk past every fricking box. My problem with this whole argument is I KNOW how shit the average person is at games. Yet they're all acting like experts on game design and flow.
>give 100% unique models to breakable containers, e.g. green crates for ammo drops >make breakable windows/doors/whatever look cracked/damaged
there, done, no need for this yellow paint shit
Nah >original game >model stands out >description button prompt when you get close >game literally tells you you can break it
Zoomers are just mental invalids.
they don't stand out anymore because they literally lost the skills to make games >make ten million different tiny models of random objects >shove them all over the place and make it seem like nothing on tables or desks are important >get confused when players will walk past all this garbage and not take a single glance at them because it's all 'noise'
they need to remember they make GAMES and not MOVIES, everything else is just an excuse for their laziness
And they never will. We’ve reached the graphics plateau where they can’t make games actually look better so they just cram more junk and more particles on the screen at all times. We will never have clean and readable graphical presentation from AAA games ever again
This. It's unreal how many people can't make basic correlation anymore and just assume devs do things as a personal insult to players. Any game with good graphics need a visual indicator for intractable items. Not saying REmake4's solution specifically is great, but the idea behind it is completely sound.
Not only does the game let you pick up virtually everything, but it still gives you a prompt by merely looking at shit.

One of those is simply a side effect of 3D rendered objects on a prerendered background beeing taken advantage of. The other is using a lighting trick to get the same result.
You can use similar and more subtle tricks now for the same effect and not resort to slapping yellow paint on everything.

None of the older REs have outright fixed ammo and they all have barrels/boxes. Idk what you're smoking.
Isn't that literally a mod?
Enemy randomizer and RE4 HD, except it solely depends on the current environment. In the other guy's screenshot the crate stands out more due to the level's lightning, while here https://youtu.be/WAf9R8_cLPo?t=295 it blends in more. Crates and boxes are slightly darker in the HD mod, but it doesn't change the fact based on the lighting of the current room the vanilla boxes are harder to spot at times. The reality is that if you want to have non-breakable objects you can always just use other props or outright have metal/etc variants of them. No one's going to try to break a metal barrel with their knife or shoot it open with their gun. There's no reason to slather everything with paint, including walkways and completely straight-forward shit like the windmill "ladder" in RE8. I have no issues spotting regular barrels in RE8, since they rarely contain items, e.g. the barrel's split open and has an item underneath/inside of it, or just spotting indestructable barrels in general. The game simply conditions you to ignore them and then idiots will try to argue that modern graphics simply aren't fit for non-highlighted barrels.

I've played through RE1 twice. Are all the boxes fixed too? Because in later titles it's a mix between fixed loot and slight RNG. RE4 has RNG based on several factors, so do 5 and 6, and 8 is semi-random, with some spawns being fixed and some not. Not that it matters.
They do not. They have "stomp/etc" key prompts right next to the breakable objects, breakable objects are not highlighted across the entire map. If you don't want to have interaction prompts at all, turn off the HUD, there, fixed.

It's a psone game, they stand out because of hardware and technical limitations, the background is prerendered for a reason. Also the image isn't from the psone game but the pc port because playstation had no anti aliasing, else they would stand out even more.
But those barrels are clearly different than the table next to it
Yes, why didn't they color every single barrel differenct in a gamecube game?
False, it's solely because of lazy developers not making breakable objects. Remember Resi7 or 8? You have cups, plates, glass, doors and other misc objects that could have been easily broken with a gun or knife, but they weren't bothered making those objects destructible, so to not confuse the user that 1 out of 400 objects can be broken they just lazily put a shitty yellow tape or paint all over it.
You know... instead of actually making everything breakable and actual important objects like crates having clearly better graphical/art style fidelity over random background props? It's that simple, but they don't do this because overwhelming majority of modern assets are just store bought shit or something handled to external studios without any guidance or clear purpose of each asset.
It is normie pandering though, because they couldn't tell where breakable things are and would walk past them whereas someone with a brain might explore more and try to break boxes and shit they see
Wo Long did the same shit with certain climbable walls to show you the path and it bugged me there as well. It's not a huge deal though.
The fact that people actually think people would just outright never see loot crates and walk past them really exposes how stupid Ganker is with this shit.
Have you ever seen or read what play testers have done to cause changes in games? It would probably boggle your mind with how you're acting
I can GUARANTEE you that they play tested this without yellow shit and everywhere and found out most people were just missing shit left and right. I'm not a doomer but I think you have too much faith in the average player.
>recruit random 50 year olds from the street (likely homeless too) to play-test your new 200 million dollar game >they're all shit at it
Gee I fricking wonder why. Almost as if you shouldn't let a toddler test drive a car or let someone who's never shot a gun in their life before test out a new gun/stock/etc to see how it performs. The same shit happened to HL2, Ep1 IIRC, where some moronic moron ran in circles for half an hour, causing the devs to rethink their choice in letting the player loop back into the level, aka an ever so slightly maze-like structure.
Not that I disagree with you, but it's a bit more than that. They don't get only moronic/braindead people to play test.
Anon even if some people are really that dumb they're the minority a gross minority, the game won't be built around those people. The point of the yellow paint isn't so people can see them at all. It's to simple streamline the process of finding all the loot in an area. Do you think people want to waste their time looking for boxes? No, it's not fun, at least not in RE4 with it's action focus. Why do you think that it's only the loot crates, windows and shit like that that get this treatment and not say the treasures or the puzzles that we know from leaks are still in the game? Literally think about this shit for 1 second and you'll realize how stupid it is to think they did this in case people missed it.
I'm not defending play testers being stupid, but I am saying this was play tested and I've personally watched "average gamers" completely miss shit. Games generally are made to appeal to most people which is why they're focus tested/play tested and I can guarantee that's what led to this decision
And it can be both for people missing it AND streamlining it. I don't disagree with the streamlining point though.
My point being overall, it's for normies. The average person. Which is what I was replying to initially.

My thought process is this. Is it something I care about them dumbing down? No, so this isn't an issue beyond the how in which they implemented it(seriously the yellow paint shit is so ugly they could have gotten a bit more creative with it holy frick). If they dumbed down the puzzles and treasures I'd be upset. I think there are things that devs need to let players experience and figure out on their own and there are things where it doesn't really matter either way. You can look at it as lazy pandering to the lowest common denominator or you can look at it as a QOL feature. Up to you. I've seen way more egregious examples of moron proofing in games for me to think this is worth getting upset over.

To illustrate how moronic the modern gamer is, let me list you a few examples.
1. Twitch streamer who ran in a circle for a solid 8-10 minutes while on/off reading chat/etc, in the area after lifting the tractor in RE8. Checked the map several times, looked down the corridor, leading to the actual objective several times, and it took them nearly 10 minutes to figure it out that you can in fact go down the pathway, that wasn't blocked by anything mind you.
2. A guy, streamer again, who was stuck after killing Lady D and had to look up online how to pass the door with the yellow lock on it. After killing Lady D and getting up from your fall you'll have no weapons actively equipped, for some reason. Pressing your hotkeys for your weapons will pull them up again and you can attack once more. This guy was so stupid, he didn't bother trying his weapon shortcuts, instead he messed about for 3-4 mins around the area, before looking up a guide.
3. Some foreign streamer, once again, being stuck in the small room with the lit chandelier and the 2 unlit torches. No amount of barebones logic or even the hint on the wall helped them, instead they brain-lessly slashed at the chandelier after a few minutes, before trying to move it by ramming Ethan into it. When all they had to do was shoot it once and realize that bullets do an excellent job of pushing it and that this is literally babby's first puzzle.
The average modern gaymerTM is brain-dead, that's just a fact. There's at least a dozen more examples of someone simply playing badly, not being outright brain-dead, but just making really weird decisions regarding combat.

Very much so. Not like it was a creeping change, over literal decades, but frick me, 8th gen/the mid 2010s did a number on video games. I remember people being up in arms about day 1 patches that were basically the entire game, to be downloaded again. Or even 5~GB patches. Everyone hated that shit and how you had to get a day 1 patch to even launch your disk game. Now you often have to wait several weeks, if not months, or even a full year, to have a playable and acceptable game, like with DL2, 2077, every CoD since WW2 and so on.
Anon even if some people are really that dumb they're the minority a gross minority, the game won't be built around those people. The point of the yellow paint isn't so people can see them at all. >le I need to grab 100% of the items
What's the in-game map for? Which, for some reason, people still look at 24/7, to make sure not a single bullet has been missed. Imagine playing a game like you have the literal dev next to you, giving you tips every single turn.
It's bad enough watching first impressions streams where they even missed some yellow paint boxes just walking past and not even looking at that side of the area.
Sorry, gotta put all that extra CPU power towards rendering every pore and hair folicle on the character's face instead. Actual gameplay improvements are too hard.
I personally like the "Witcher/Batman sense" solution where such objects are highlighted when you activate a mode dedicated to highlighting objects and/or objectives.
Makes sense that the character would for example spot important plants better than the player himself would.
The solution is very simple: Devs need to be better at level design.
If you need to place item somewhere make the area around it well lit (in a way that feels organic) or don't put tons of assets around it that would mask it.
Just make the entire environment breakable and you fixed the problem. Everything that would make sense IRL, it should make sense in game too if you're one of those moronic devs trying to go for "realism". >See that crate/barrel? >Yeah, you can blow it up if you throw a grenade at it. Or open it if you walk close enough to it or whatever else.
Sorry bro, the PlayStation cannot handle big, constant real time physics simulation like breaking down the entire environment around you without dipping down to 24 fps
>In original RE4 you can spot a breakable crate from miles away. >In modern graphics, they'd blend into the environment seemlessly.
Just make them a little different then, there's no need to paint everything with yellow crosses. That looks so bad, holy shit.
Why not just... have the environment be interactable all the time? Why is everything fricking static now. In half life 2 you could destroy every crate because they were fricking crates.
This whole yellow paint thing is so fricking stupid it made me think what's the real reason this was included because 10 years ago modern games that were already casualized to hell didn't have it.
Is it because it helps the colorblind? I know pandering to disabled people is all the rage in the industry these days.

its just a different version of a thing you already know
because its aimed at literal morons
this is no conspiracy theory
this has nothing to do with graphics
you have devs using motherfricking DSP footage to help streamlining their levels
In original RE4, the breakable objects had dynamic lighting, which made them glow, as opposed to set dressing objects that always looked the same way. Instead of glowing like they used to, they now have some kind of mark to denote them as breakable, it's not any different from what it was, objects and the environment are getting the same lighting now so it'd be hard to tell breakable from unbreakable and if they purposefully broke the lightning on breakable objects to make them glow again, you'd hate it more. God of War reboot was praised for it making the important object marking part of the plot and that's where the yellow painting peaked, now it always looks lazy
nah the moron paint exists for morons like yourself. never had issues finding breakable objects, and the GC version doesn't have lighting issues like the other versions. I should know because I am literally playing it on my deck right now. the color palette they use for it is distinct, and easy to spot it's all whitened oak. same could have been done for REmake4, and I will be utilizing a plethora of mods to unfrick the moron shit they have implemented to accommodate morons like yourself. >muh fidelities
literal moron cope to side-step the fact you're a moron, and can't walk over to something with a big fricking marker over it. >"o-o-oh my god is that a marker over a crate...where is my paint h-h-how am i supposed to know it can be broken..."
that's why they gave you the moron paint, so your dumb Black person brain doesn't get confused.
It's still a false equivalence you moron because the environments in the remake are way more detailed. No fricking shit the boxes in the original are easy to spot when they're literally the only thing in an empty room. I swear to god it's at the point where I'm really struggling to tell when people are just shitposting or when they're genuinely this stupid. Doomposters are the dumbest people on the fricking planet.
nah even without the moron spray paint to notify your dumb Black person brain that the box is indeed breakable anyone with a functioning non nigged brain sees a barrel/crate/vase and goes "wow there is probably something in there better go knife it". you are the only one struggling that needs the yellow moron paint unable to use common sense like anyone not on welfare Black personbux.
Nice cope but nah. I can spot shit easy enough, I can find every single bit of loot. The problem is it's less easy than the original, Capcom doesn't want people to waste their time looking for fricking crates because there's no benefit to the game in having people do that. Treasures are still hidden so this handholding argument is complete cope. It's a time and effort saving QOL feature for she some shit that doesn't need to have any effort. If you think it's the game being dumbed down it's because you're a crybaby homosexual with a persecution complex. Deal with your insecurities first pussy.

GET HIM SISTURRRR ugh how can that dumb chud think that the yellow spray paint looks bad let alone isn't an efficient way to get the attention of our fellow gaymers. It helps me allocate my time so I can dilate, and not miss taking my zoloft, lexipro, and lithium. Us transSISTURRRS love the yellow spray paint 🙂
>In original RE4
Bro i said 10 years. RE6 and literally all games in the PS3/PS4 era didn't have this shit. Fricking Elden Ring released last year had breakable objects without piss markers.
Its purely meant as a handholding device. Games now are meant to be played without challenging the player or letting them think, if they get stuck for a moment in playtesting its called bad design and needs to be fixed.
What's challenging about walking into every barrel and box until I find the one where I can press X to break shows up? Don't you think you're being a bit pedantic dying on this hill
A tester get stuck for three days trying to figure out how to stop zombies from entering through the windows. They're even taping mice and keyboards in the office since testers couldn't figure out how to interact with the game
It's because devs are lazy and can't into level/game design. Look at the shitheap that's RE8. There's normal barrels without paint, but guess what, you can't break them. If it wasn't for the point one of two things would happen. Either they'd have to populate all boxes with items or have some just be empty based on RNG (like RE4) or to fill the space with other objects, which is more taxing on both the performance and the devs' work.
I genuinely hate RE8's yellow color-coding. It's way too much, but people are brain-dead and will continue to buy Catcum's shitty-ass games till it's a literal movie, because any form of gameplay is apparently too much for the modern gaymerTM.
>good level design = using lights and basic flow to guide the player and their actions >bad level design = splattering everything in Simpsons cum and having literal GPS in half of modern day games
RE8 has a couple of natural guides, like the first relief fitting in the factory, which is illuminated by a single neon light and stands out from the rest of the room, despite being slightly hidden out of the main path you'd take through the room. It also has the shrine with the second medal you need, which is lit up, except you cannot open the gate till you use the screwdriver on it and pick it up. For every good implementation of level design/hints, there's like 10 bad ones. I've played through RE8 around 35-40 times, and am not a speedrunner. I hate it and I have mental issues.
>I hate it and I have mental issues.
To be fair I like to play RE8, and larp like I am scared until I see what they've done to Rose, and then I go full doomslayer, and it's based.
God, I wish that's how Ethan's arc went in the actual story. That would've been 10 times better. Instead we have an actual lobotomite with 0 foresight or even hindsight.
It would have worked too since after Dimitrescu it's clear the bosses start fearing Ethan, and Ethan being rage fueled would also be something actual dads, or any moderately testosterone fueled man could resonate with. >We will never get Ethan shooting off Dante tier lines as he brutally murder fricks monsters with a shotgun
Very sad the timeline we live in. You would think being an un-killable mold monster would give him fatter nads.

Yeah, the writing was never RE's strong suit, not the direct writing anyway, but frick me, the recent games are just awful when it comes to basic b***h logic, RE8 is the peak of moronic, nonsense writing.
Anon if people didn't call out moronic shit for what it is we'd have a series of DmC games, and no DMCV.
So it's lose/lose, either you get shit games or you get to lose brain cells trying to argue with actual troglodytes. Amazing set of choices.
Anonymous
>So it's lose/lose
It be like that in this spicy world of tards anon sometimes you gotta wrangle them
Because it is? That's what smart hint designing looks like. You have a light source near the thing, if it's something that has no or very little details to the actual thing you're interacting with, like the relief fitting on the wall. A relief fitting doesn't stand out anywhere near as much as a barrel or wooden crate. One's an actual object you can see from a mile away, the other's a shallow fitting you'd have to actually bash your head against to see sth is supposed to go into it.
>Is it because it helps the colorblind? I know pandering to disabled people is all the rage in the industry these days.
this is such a bizarre thing to say
if it weren't for the gosling attached to this post i would've thought it was just someone being flagrantly stupid for comedic effect but this is probably genuine
>colorblind people cannot see basic shapes or shades of color or use their brain to determine that a barrel in a video game can likely be broken to obtain resources
The reason it would be vague is because the entire industry is obsessed with making "realistic graphics" which they somehow conflated with making every environment busy as hell. ignoring the fact the boxes glow, In the original game shit like this isn't necessary because the environments are much less cluttered, to the point where the ONLY objects in some buildings are breakable boxes or barrels.
Reject modernity, return to PS2 graphics.
Funny thing is RE4 also had non-breakable boxes/barrels and RE8 meanwhile has some objects that aren't marked e.g. the ladder leading into the factory. I was legit stuck in the small room for about an hour, because how tf would I know to climb the ladder when it's not splattered with yellow paint? Capcom needs to integrate GPS or sth.
>I was legit stuck in the small room for about an hour
You're actually moronic, and not helping defend against people calling it moron paint which it is since you clearly need the moron paint.
But people like "immersive sims", they want realistic busy cluttered environments. Whether thats a good thing or not, its what the market wants.
Ironically, shit like the yellow tape breaks the immersion. I don't understand why they don't just have the yellow tape as an accessibility feature.
I mean I'm not being funny but yellow tape or not I wouldn't know you could jump out of a window before I tried it for the first time anyway. Like what the frick does yellow tape tell me? I can break it? Enemies can break it? I can knock down the ladders? And on the boxes: They contain loot? They contain healing items? They're destructible? They contain key items I'm searching for?
The colour being so garish and standing out from the environment is an eyesore and makes a "Realistic looking" game look less realistic, and doesnt even fill its intended purpose because you just end up walking around pressing Interact on everything anyway to see what it does.
This 100% in a game that is going for a more photo-realistic look of an already existing game it shouldn't have jarring shit that doesn't fit in the environment it's in. It's not even the moron indicator that's the problem it's the implementation of something that doesn't fit the environment. They could have gotten creative like shimmering metal rims on crates, and barrels, while having vases shimmer like they do in the OG. It's straight up lazy, and should really only be a feature for easy-mode since clearly they're pandering to the most brain-dead minority in gaming.
i bet this game is fun. it's been a very long time since i've plaed the old one. it must be fancy with the graphics stuff, and i have the PC to run it too. i just have to wait a month. this will be a blast

>this needs to end
Even if the RE4 doomposting and shilling is moronic I'm glad people can make funny OC.
Godspeed glorious bastards
no but putting assets in a game that doesn't fit the environment is triggering for anyone that isn't functioning off just two brain-cells at any given moment.
>no but putting assets in a game that doesn't fit the environment
Always love this "muh immersion" cope. It's such a weak argument I'm not even sure you believe it. Just admit that you're just looking for shit to nitpick because you're a contrarian and frick off with the pathetic excuses.
>n-n-no this thing you mean YOU CLEARLY DON'T MEAN
lmfao is this your new cope? I absolutely do mean it which is why I emphasized I am going to be using mods to un-Black personify the moron pandering they are doing for you, and people like you. The game will be infinitely more pleasant to the eye, and it will not be an issue, because unlike you my brain isn't absolutely 100% homierdly like yours.
There are better ways to highlight things without having yellow shit all over the place while also being immersive like placing natural looking light sources near items or don't place important things in places that have a lot of junk.
>also being immersive like placing natural looking light sources near items
Kek dude, really? Did you even think about this at all?
Just make the entire environment breakable and you fixed the problem. Everything that would make sense IRL, it should make sense in game too if you're one of those moronic devs trying to go for "realism". >See that crate/barrel? >Yeah, you can blow it up if you throw a grenade at it. Or open it if you walk close enough to it or whatever else.
I thought more than you did because having natural source of light (that fits the setting) is objectively superior way to draw players attention than to place yellow tapes in places that clash with the aesthetic and as a result look unnatural.

>(that fits the setting)
And if no lights "fit the setting"?
>muh immersion is ruined I cant pretend anymore!!
neet spotted. how about getting a life instead? literally nobody cares about some tape in video games chud lmao
>neet spotted. how about getting a life instead? literally nobody cares about some tape in video games chud lmao
you forgot to add the "btw i'm trans :)" to your the chud part of your comment. try not to rope when you run out of whatever ssris they're feeding you. you're clearly on them to have a brain rotted enough to need a big yellow spray painted indicator of what you can, and can't investigate.
I'm not there is overwhelming support coming from people who are partisan apologist before they're bi-partisan, and providing constructive criticism. I don't even think the game is bad, and will be playing it when there are enough mods to tailor the game to my wants, and expectations, but to keep insisting it's good art direction is simply not true, and for a game that has been in development FOR YEARS it's straight up lazy. It could be excused for 7, and 8 because they're new games in the series and there wasn't an already established art direction even though it looks moronic and clashes with the environment in 8. REmake2 could get away with it, because cops use yellow tape, and spray paint for crime scenes all the time so it actually works in the favor of REmake2. I didn't play REmake3, because it's a 3 hours long cashgrab, and for REmake4 a lot of these decisions like choosing to cut out Chief Mendez' transformation is LAZY, and that's exactly how I would describe REmake3 as a whole.
The fact that this shit has been in the past 4 RE games and never caused this much outrage is all that you need to know about how genuine said outrage really is.
of all the issues the remake has, THIS is the one you all focus down?
I'm fricking disappointed. No, I don't like yellow tape either, but at least there can be game design explanations for that.
I wish you pieces of shit would get this upset over gameplay design decisions they have made that make the game worse, such as their focus on randomness to keep the player on their toes >stab zombie head >might cause a kick stagger, might do nothing lol good luck not committing to actions because you can't confidently gauge how enemies will react >TMP just had huge random spread instead of just being more shakey to aim
These are the real fricking problems the game is going to have, you frickfaces
I could've sworn I've even had instances where I headshot a zombie and it didn't become kickable (not talking about turned ones)
It's not a good thing if it never makes you want to shank a zombie because you don't know if it's actually going to work.
Has nothing to do with speed running you moron fricktard.
>Oh no I cant game the zombies they're unpredictable and dangerous
Oh shit, its almost like thats whats meant to happen rather than reduce every single enemy to a walking hitbox with an invisible hp bar
I never got this.
They show another screen like this with the glass being cracked by a super bomb. I figured it out as a 10 eyar old.
Same with those cylinders from Sonic 3. It LOCKS YOU IN PLACE, IN A GAME WHERE HOLDING LEFT OR RIGHT WAS DOMINANT. So, what do you do when you jump on an bobject and can't move left or right? You try jumping, because if you've played Hydrocity zone you know that's all you could do on those cylinders. but oh wait, after I jump on it, it bounces down like suspension. Continuing to jump doesn't work so let's try pressing up and down! AH! Eureka! Again, as a little kid I figured this out. I got Sonic 3 for xmas day one year and completed in a couple hours.
Honest to god, gamers are fricking morons that try one thing, see it doesn't work the whole game and then cry on twitter about how dumb it is. When they, in fact, are dumb morons that want everything to be easy and handed to them. But they do need that, they just don't want to be reminded they're moronic.
it's like how people keep telling me that the post you jump up to from the ground was never anywhere else
sure that one singular post wasn't but there were places you could jump exactly the same
>Drop player into hole filled with barrels >Insert a "This shit is breakable, press X to destroy" flavor text >Player goes through cavern breaking boxes, barrels, windows, etc >Player exits cavern with newfound knowledge that these things elsewhere can be broken too
There, no more yellow paint. If the player can't figure it out from a literal tutorial then frick 'em.
To be fair there's nothing that suggests you could or should break stuff after the cavern. Some people would (understandably) be confused and might drop the game.
Yes. Otherwise I'd be trying to smash everything and complaining that my body just goes through like a ghost. Only if you make everything interactable is where it becomes unnecessary
Tbh these threads have made me realise that discussing game design on these boards is literally a wasted effort. Most of you people are moronic zombie drones.
You know what old games had that increasingly gets lost the more detailed graphics become? Readability of the environment. It is simply a FACT that environments are way more dense with noise nowadays than they used to be. What is interactable and what isn't is becoming harder and harder to detect unless it's obvious shit like chests or levers. You people using the argument "b-but original resident evil 4 didn't need it either!" are so fricking moronic it's honestly staggering. I hope you're just baiting. I don't think yellow paint is the most elegant solution, but you're literally lying to yourself if you say that modern game environments are as readable as old games used to be. And most of you will just argument by saying "oh it's only for moronic people".
It's literally a problem games have been facing all over the place in recent years.
None of you morons cried when items in dark souls were made to stand out by making them glowy soul things.
tl;dr I just could tell you're defending being dumb and think others are dumb like you. Hit up a section 8 neighborhood I am sure they will be in overwhelming agreement with you.
I always love the irony of people shitting on this stuff calling other people NPC consoomers for being fine with it while being the most brainless bandwaggoning sheep of them all. You can bet your ass 99% of people complaining about this shit are only doing it because it's the new cool thing to do.
The issue here isn't the yellow paint so much as it is the rest of the environmental design necessitating the yellow paint. The environments are cluttered with tons of debris on the outsides and furniture and little objects on the interiors, all with similar colors and lighting and shit, that everything visually bleeds into each other and nothing stands out, and therefore the player is not immediately directed towards anything that may be interactable. The RE2/3 remakes had the same problem and used similar solutions. If they had designed it all with that in mind from the start you wouldn't need to use such band-aid solutions as the yellow paint, you'd be able to more naturally set the interactable crates and barrels apart similarly to how the original did it by giving them completely different lighting to the rest of the environment to highlight them. It wouldn't look as "realistic" but you're already throwing that out with the yellow paint anyway. Not to mention you already make all the treasure and loot light up unrealistically and have button prompts appear over all of it, too.
Not enough people played village, and I actually complained about it in the one anon's thread talking about the game today. The third person mode is fun, and there should have been an option to switch between the two without it being DLC. I mentioned that it clashed with the art design in the game, but not at all with REmake2, or 7 since police use yellow tape, and yellow spray paint for crime scenes, and there is almost a sort of piss filter in RE7 so it just works with the artstyle.
show me where the turn-off button is in the options menu of REmake4 and I'll eat my hat on livestream.

No one's made a mod like this for Village though. Doubt it's that easy, you'll have to go through tons of textures and some might not even have clean versions, so you'll have to make completely new ones.
Yup what this anon is saying. I am sure if the game was popular enough, and people were willing to put the time into it we'd have it as a mod, but unfortunately the game isn't THAT popular. It's more likely someone will be willing to sacrifice their time with something as popular as RE4.
>nobody is arguing that
I mean reading this thread, "it's pandering to morons" seems to be the more common argument rather than pure aesthetical complaints.
nah my argument personally is it looks like shit, and I wouldn't have any issues with them moron proofing the game if they at least made it look aesthetically pleasing which is why I am going to mod my game to not have the moron paint.
yeah bro. I'd rather spend 15 minutes in every room slashing at every box and crate in the scenery than to put up with this shit. you fricking mentally ill incels.

Not my fault you need pandering to accommodate your dumb Black person brain anon.
keep being fueled on ssris and dilators until you realize life isn't panning out how you thought it would your suicide will be inevitable they all are.
Love these projecting trannies pretending that going around and looting fricking boxes is such an important gameplay process that the game entirely cruxes on to work. This isn't RE1, RE4 is linear as shit, exploration was never an important part of this game. Why should I care if they streamline it to be just as easy as in the original?
you clearly are or you wouldn't be so upset by someone saying they just aren't going to buy the game, or will choose to mod it out while pointing out it's moronic art direction.

Haven't played nu resident evil so.... Is pressing X on random things and getting a description/commentary still a thing on this soulless ip? Reading that shit on the og games and on resident evil 4 was so much fun (to me at least)
Nope, specific things can be interacted with and you get a bit of info depending on what it is, but the game uses more environmental story telling now.
Which is fine, the description/commentary was because the games graphics required them at the time to give a more accurate representation of what was going on. >OG RE >Press X on desk >"Its a large, stately, wooden desk, looks like it belonged to the chief of police. His name is on a plaque bar that's fallen underneath the desk. The drawers are empty except for one that's locked"
>NuRE >Literally just show that shit and give the option to interact with the locked drawer
Fricking really homie, REALLY? I still remember my very first playthrough of the og RE4, pressed the knife button and wondered if i could break shit with it, tried it and that was about it... I didn't need some fricking yellow paint or tape to act on instinct ffs. I'm guessing that shit is for the brain rotted zoom zooms who grew up on Elsa gate content
It's better than hitting literally everything that looks breakable just in case there is a collectable in there IF it does break open. My OCD will not let me skip breaking things if there's a small chance there could be something inside. Having a clear marker on things you can break that can have a collectable is far superior than breaking literally everything around you and spending 30 minutes to get through a 10 minute segment.
no anon that would be too cool, and we can't have something that fricking b***hin like complete destructible environments. you will get the yellow spray paint, and you will like it.

RE8 already has RNG with some boxes, while others are set in stone. I don't see the issue with my approach, that's how RE4 did it.
there's nothing wrong with your approach morons will just defend nu-make because they love the moron pandering, and will make up any excuse to defend their moron paint.

There's unironically no way you can defend that garbage without sounding like a coping consoomer moron or a shill. It's fricking stupid, it doesn't look good at all but it will have nu RE apologists defending it.
>defend
The fact that people like you actually get in arms over an object highlight so much that they feel the need to "attack" it, is 100x worse than people shrugging about it
when 'homosexual' or 'Black person' is used you don't really expect them to be a homosexual or a Black person, it's just an insult (well, most of the time)
and that's the problem with the morons using 'troony' as an insult, they're so fricking deranged and obsessed they actually believe that everyone around them is a troony
Yellow paint is a perfect solution to a problem that doesn't exist. Way to go Capcom. I pre-ordered your slop. You can keep your shills away from me now.
I think what's crazy about this discourse is didn't we JUST have the God of War Ragnarok discussion about the overly helpful NPCs? Why are people flip flopping now. It feels like which ever e-celeb gets the first say dictates the correct opinion everyone must take.
God I hate what they've done to GoW. It should have gone the way of DMCV, and it went into a piss-poor rendition of a pseudo telltales game with horrible gameplay. I wish the creators of nu-GoW got the tameme tamale treatment, but the majority of nu-GoW fans aren't based like DMC chads, so they just let it happen. I will never forget how DMC chads bullied the ever-loving shit out of a hubris filled man-child c**t like Tameme Tamale.
Anon if you can't tell the difference between a game helping you with puzzles a thing you WANT to spend your time solving and a game helping you find loot something you DON'T want to spend your time doing then you might be clinically moronic. If RE4R marked the treasures with yellow paint and made them super easy to find I'd have a problem but who the frick cares about speeding up the looting process?
Here's an actual door that leads you to progress the story. Is there anything yellow or is there anyone that says "I don't know about you, but maybe you should check those doors?" 10 seconds from seeing them?
A long hallway that narrows your vision towards an ominously accessorized door. Without insight into the Los Illuminados symbol, the paint marks look like a giant X.
Many players will try the door first, see the key prompt, and turn towards the right since the right side is illuminated.
There is then a pile of junk between Leon and another door off to the side.
There's one box that is notably brighter than the rest of the trash, almost... yellow. The shadow from the buckets almost cause it to be shaped like a triangle or arrow pointing to the right.
There's yellow candlelight that casts a shadow which conveniently darkens everything except the door, making it stand out.
There's even a shovel pointing at the door.
These are all examples of good potential environmental indicators to direct the player without any game-ified contrivances
Can't wait for the coping e-celebs and their 50 minute essays on why new thing is actually better despite obvious flaws. Unlike previous remakes this one would be the most polarizing, the og game has been ported to so many consoles it has at least 3 generations of people who have some nostalgic feelings about the original, even non RE fans have tried RE4 because of how popular it is
Makes more sense than glowing barrels.
Also more realistic and immersive. >someone hid ammo in a crate in an abandoned house >marks it with paint so those in the know, know what crates to look for
Perfect I know that I can interact with him with my knife, or gun now. Thank you kind stranger I think I would have gotten lost in trying to figure out what to do in this section otherwise 🙂
Can't wait for the "no paint, no recoil+ laser sight, dog mod, Salazar with hat, no fedora Mendez, ai generated dialogue to add the removed lines from the original (balistics, landing on your butt, extra time), Hunnigan on Leon's communicator, lantern on vest" mods to fix Capcom's mess
also you forgot to included *fixed ashley. the current model for ashley looks like some shovel faced dog fricking starbucks enthusiast vs og ashley who looked like your typical big boob college campus girl from early 2000s

How come no one's talking about the foggy castle interior? I noticed it on the trailer, my guess is Capcom made it foggy on purpose so they could get away with not making the castle interior as beautifuly detailed as the original which was an absolute work of art
All these problems have been noticed in mere 30 minutes of gameplay and a couple of trailers/screenshots. I'm legit worried about what else awaits in a 14 hours + game
The complete and utter destruction of your child-hood, and everything based about it. They already removed the female corpse pinned to that one wall with a pitchfork from that one screenshot where Leon talks about them le not discriminating against sex. I imagine they will remove enemies that were present in the castle.
>Glowing crates in the original
Easy to ignore as it's obviously non-diegetic, being there either purely for the player's sake or due to technical limitations/bugs. >Painted crap in the remake
Less obvious that it's meant to be non-diegetic (if it even is at all), which can lead to questions like why some dickheads in the middle of Nowhere, Spain are painting only some of their crates, barrels, and windows with random splotches of yellow.
This is the main crux of the problem that the dumbasses defending the paint don't realize.
Of course, this problem is only a symptom of the REAL problem, which is that there's just too much shit in a given area to be able to properly make out what's just background stuff and what's there to be interacted with, so they HAD to do this so you could actually tell what's what instead of having to go around knifing every random thing.
It would be better if they just had a glow, or a shimmer or an outline or something like that.
When the "highlighting" is done in a diegetic manner it means that someone had to have ran around and painted every intractable object yellow before Leon got there.
When when it is highlighted non-diegetically with an outline or something its easy to see the outline as not being part of the world.
>give crates, and barrels metallic rim >don't glow but rim slightly shimmer when moving pass
there we just fixed the issue morons can still spot the items, it's not offensive, tasteful, and doesn't clash with the art direction.
>REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE YELLOW PAINT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
All i see is how INCREDIBLY pretentious gaymers have become.
What will happen if there is no yellow paint? Will it be more "immersive" for you? will the game become harder? Do you feel more hardcore?
Sit down and shut up, manchildren. You're just playing a fricking video game.
How come no one's talking about the foggy castle interior? I noticed it on the trailer, my guess is Capcom made it foggy on purpose so they could get away with not making the castle interior as beautifuly detailed as the original which was an absolute work of art
Not everyone was exposed to the leak, so not enough people calling out the moronic shit that was implemented into the new iteration of the game. There will be a lot of it though once it releases, because there will of course be demand for mods to fix it all.
Weird how all those gaming commentary channels have been suspiciously silence about it. The saddest thing is the castle was one of the things people were looking forward the most and crapcom pulled a classic nu crapcom move on us once again. I hate nu Capcom with a passion, bunch of half assed greedy soulless fricks
I genuinely miss old YouTube. Guys like James back in the day, or even Ian, who gave not a single shit about anything, but later became a cuck and stopped making actually good videos.
Every modern game is foggy as frick, and it's fricking horrible. Why are fricking every interior foggy as frick in every game what the frick. They seriously think that fog = graphical advancement
Did you play the demo? The herbs literally do go into your suitcase and take up slots. Then you craft them through the crafting menu and the new vile of herb mixture takes up its own slot
This discussion is so fricking stupid it hurts, 99% of normies won't even care
Most of them will just break whatever crate they see to get ammo, why overthink this shit now?
How come no one's talking about the foggy castle interior? I noticed it on the trailer, my guess is Capcom made it foggy on purpose so they could get away with not making the castle interior as beautifuly detailed as the original which was an absolute work of art

It's illuminated by a bunch of torch fire and all the smoke from the firepits, so of course the interiors would look smokey, but some stupid gays thing it's forced "distance fog" or some shit.
Honestly I there will be a plethora of autists trying to fix the following >castle fog >ashley >salazar >inventory UI >moron paint indicators >weapon models >cum rain
Dude, the entire board is getting spammed with these shitty threads. If "I don't like the way they highlighted interactable objects" is your only issue with the game, it must be pretty good uh? Don't buy it and wait for a mod if this bothers you so much.
You people are complaining about the most moronic shit. "T-the map looks different" or "T-the UI is too minimalistic" or "H-he doesn't say ballistics, the game is too serious now" or "You can attach charms to your suitcase, the game is too childish now."
Who. Cares. Is the game fun? How are the guns, how are the enemies? Did they add new enemies or areas? Are there additional modes? Is Separate Ways still there?
I've been reading these fricking threads for two days and all everyone talks about is the fricking yellow tape.
red barrels is needed in a combat scenario for the player to have a quick aquisition of what opportunities they have
yellow tape is useless in its scavenging scenario, there is no rush to know what can be looted or not + it kills reasearching for stuff + it's ugly
Remember when reddit wanted the island removed because IT'S SO HAAAARD? that's why yellow paint exists so literal downies stop crying about the difficulty
Replace Resident Evil Indicators.
Q:How would you replace the resident evil 4 remake yellow indicators with something more natural?
A:The yellow indicators in Resident Evil 4 Remake are designed to highlight interactive objects or points of interest in the environment, such as items that can be picked up or doors that can be opened. If you want to replace these indicators with something more natural, here are some possible options:
Use environmental cues: Instead of relying on artificial indicators, use the environment itself to guide the player's attention. For example, you could place items in locations where they naturally belong, such as a key on a hook near a locked door. You could also use lighting, sound effects, or other visual cues to draw attention to important objects.
Make objects stand out: You can make interactive objects more noticeable without using bright yellow indicators. One way to do this is by making them visually distinct from the rest of the environment. For example, you could make important objects larger, brighter, or more detailed than other objects in the same area.
Add contextual clues: Provide players with contextual clues that suggest what actions they can take in a given area. For example, if there's a door that can be opened, you could add scratches around the door handle or a keyhole that suggests a key is needed. This way, players will know what actions are available to them without relying on artificial indicators.
Use a more subtle color: If you still want to use indicators, consider using a more subtle color that blends in with the environment. For example, you could use a light blue or green indicator that doesn't stand out as much as yellow.
Overall, there are many ways to replace the yellow indicators in Resident Evil 4 Remake with more natural alternatives. The key is to design the game in a way that guides the player's attention without relying on artificial cues.
Chimping out over yellow boxes when it's literally a game that you fricking played 20 years ago lmao. Even IF they perfect it, it's a fricking 20 year old game lmao.
You morons wouldn't have any idea what progress looks like in the sphere of videogames if it hit you in the face, and most likely you have the same opinion as moronic homosexual journe-girlsts who don't play anything but consume goyslop like Blizzard games and whatnot.
>replay the og in celebration of the remake, normal mode >out of ammo at various points
Frick i'm getting too old for this vidya shit, never happened to me berfoe on previous gameplays. How you doin so for on your replay?
i do the greatest part about people calling it "casual" is the fact
1.re4 is already a very casual game
2.the remake willl 100% be harder
not that it matters, cause most people (like you gays) will play it about once on normal.
There was treasure hidden everywhere. While it was very linear you still need to look around and examine what's to do,
now it's just a a yellow line telling everything.
Treasures are still in the remake and still hidden. Maybe YOU should stick to movies cause you clearly don't play video games. Fricking dumb Black person.
>hurr the treasure is still hidden there is only a giant yellow arrow pointing to it and a yellow cross marking it's exact location >it would literally unfindable if there weren't also a mark on the map!
Fricking idiot.

Man you guys are clowns, have fun with your moron proof game, fricking imbeciles.
I don't think you're understanding me, you sperg. The yellow tape and paint is dumb, but the ultimate issue lies with modern games needing to plaster every centimeter of the screen with pointless stuff in order to be autistically" life like.
>HEEEAAAALP THERE IS A POT ON THE FLOOR HELP I FORGOT WHAT A DOOR IS
that's now what this game is about. also i just remembered treasures exist, so look for those i guess. (if you are being genuine play re7, TONS of really cool hidden stuff taking advantage of the FPS view)
That's a faulty argument because as you know the dumbest special needs kids get playtesting jobs and directly result in these yellow markings being added.
The problem stems from the fact that modern games are unnecessarily cluttered with useless stuff in the name of "realism". Not even film or television stage design does this. The end result is that there is too much shit that fights for your attention that you miss what you should be seeing. Compare the level design of remake to the original and you will see what I mean
I don't think you're understanding me, you sperg. The yellow tape and paint is dumb, but the ultimate issue lies with modern games needing to plaster every centimeter of the screen with pointless stuff in order to be autistically" life like.
>this needs to end
This right there.
It's not pandering, it's a natural consequence of bad / streamlined art direction.
They're mistakengly identifying a byproduct of the issue as the issue itself, but if the way to fix said byproduct is fixing the issue, there's absolutely nothing wrong with complaining about it.
fpbp.
Was playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider recently. The plants and shit you can harvest are completely undetectable until you approach them or press Q. But at this point I'm just spamming Q constantly. Just make them glow again, I'm not rummaging through hundreds of bushes to pick some health items.
frick you even if this is bait
Not bait he's right. In the original the boxes fricking glowed so you knew what to break. You're just turning into the 'outrage' part o the internet. Soon you'll be thinking if you will ever be a woman too. The answer is no, you will never be a woman.
Imagine seething this hard over a capcom cash grab. ngmi
tl;dr it's bad art direction
Yet they're all acting like experts on game design and flow.
>give 100% unique models to breakable containers, e.g. green crates for ammo drops
>make breakable windows/doors/whatever look cracked/damaged
there, done, no need for this yellow paint shit
also, frick you
It's a PS4 game
so what
fpbp
this. it's such a neat way to highlight an object, but the morons argue a fricking glowing crate sticking out like a sore thumb is somehow better.
>OH MY GOD LOOK AT THIS HEEEEEECKIN NEATARINO SPRAYPAINTAROOOOOO LOOK GUYS OH MY GOD ISN'T THAT CRAZY

This is actually a good argument

GOOD MORNING SIRS PLS DO THE NEEDFUL AND BUY NEW RESIDENT EVIL GAEM
Nah
>original game
>model stands out
>description button prompt when you get close
>game literally tells you you can break it
Zoomers are just mental invalids.
you must be right
Yeah this is 100% spot on. The actual real complaint here is that they made it so ugly.
they don't stand out anymore because they literally lost the skills to make games
>make ten million different tiny models of random objects
>shove them all over the place and make it seem like nothing on tables or desks are important
>get confused when players will walk past all this garbage and not take a single glance at them because it's all 'noise'
they need to remember they make GAMES and not MOVIES, everything else is just an excuse for their laziness
Not saying REmake4's solution specifically is great, but the idea behind it is completely sound.
nah you're just too moronic to go up to things that look like they should be investigated because your mother did drugs while you were in the womb
Name a single game without visual queues for interactable items.
Morrowind.
Not only does the game let you pick up virtually everything, but it still gives you a prompt by merely looking at shit.
Descriptions are not prompts to get your attention try again you straw grasping homosexual. A description of an item name is not yellow paint to get the attention of the player to walk over and pick said item up.
RE1? RE4? RE5? RE6? Most games made prior to 2014?
>RE1?
You can clearly see what objects are 3D.
>RE4?
now you're just making shit up
>3D
Has nothing to do with anything.
>RE4
Show me where there's paint in RE4.
>Has nothing to do with anything.
It does. 3D models clearly stand out from pre-rendered backgrounds.
>Show me where there's paint in RE4.
They don't use paint, but they clearly stand out as they have no lighting applied on them as opposed to literally everything else, from environment to characters. Literally mat_fullbright 1.
>it does
It doesn't.
>le lighting
Cope harder.
>unironically using the bear traps as evidence when they're as equally non visible in the remake
Doomposters really need to stop exposing the fact that they haven't played the demo.
>ignores the 2 barrels, because they're not coated in yellow paint/aren't a glowing supernova like in the first example pic
>purposely ignoring that guys point showing that the barrels aren't glowing in that pic, and what you're referencing is a lighting bug from ported versions of the game
Wow troonBlack folk really need to stop self-exposing themselves as fricking morons
But those barrels are clearly different than the table next to it
And the sand bags are different too and so is the foliage. Almost as if not everything's the exact same color, crazy huh?
The sandbags aren't but the foliage is
But you're not gonna look for ammo in trees
Isn't that literally a mod?
That's HD project, and GC version doesn't glow either. It's an issue with ported versions of the game if you're referring to the glowing barrel issue, because it's a lighting bug from being ported.
Cope. Seethe. But best believe, you ain't fooling me.
?t=295
Solely depends on the lighting. ALso as seen here
Wanna know how you can tell that's not the GC version homosexual? The GC version has big moronic bars on the top, and bottom of the screen no matter what. That's a cherrypicked image of a ported version of the game.
Damn bro, so what's gonna be your excuse now?
?t=295
Cope more, Black person. It depends on the room's lighting, whether or not the boxes blend in. On any platform.
I'm not the one kvetching over direct screenshots from the game after making bullshit claims.
Damn, convenient how the villagers decided to make every interactable box out of completely seperate glowing white wood compared to literally everything else. Almost as absurd as wrapping it in yellow tape.
>conveniently ignores that lighting can both hide and highlight boxes, in both the OG and HD.
You've yet to provide any proof other than literally attempting to pass texure mods off as the real thing.
?t=295
>conveniently ignores the link that I've posted twice before, in two separate posts
>ignores the fact someone else posted an image to "disprove" my argument, but further proving it
Wow really convenient to keep using the word "glowing" without actually knowing what it means ESL moron. It's almost like you want people to think your moronic paint shit is anywhere close to being practical like wood being a different shade than environmental assets.
If something is radiating light unlike everything else around it, it is glowing. You need to get over it.
good thing it's not radiating light, and is clearly whitened fricking oak and is an established varnish that exists in real life you dumb Black person. nothing about it is "glowing" it's a varnish finish being used as a dedicated texture color to indicate that it's interactable. you already know this though, and will continue to act like a fricking moron not even using actual instances of the lighting bug you're trying to use to convey your moronic argument.
Those boxes in RE4 do not emit any sort of light, they're simply lighter than the rest of the environment, in some cases. In others, inside brightly lit rooms, they blend in with their surrounding, while in other cases barrels can blend in too.
that's not glowing you ESL moron that's whitened oak being used as a shade/dedicated color and isn't what the rest of the people talking about the actual lighting bug present in the ported versions of the game is.
to add on to what I said THIS IS THE BUG look at the image see how everything is moronicly bright this is the wii version
Have you ever heard about different color?
>Black person attempting to deflect by posting an HD retexture mod as the real deal
You homosexuals aren't going to gaslight this one away so easily.
it's not present in the GC version, or the HD project(obviously). it's present in ported versions of the game as a lighting bug, and also you have your brightness set to max, so no shit things look like ass on the left, but even you're proving your own point wrong since the fricking barrels in both pics aren't le glowing like you keep claiming. Not even that anon you're replying to I am literally playing the game on my Steam Deck right now, and the only thing that glows are dropped items, or items revealed after breakings crates, or barrels. Keep acting obtuse for the sake of shaping your narrative in your favor.
Still better than yellow paint you disingenuous frick. Also you're still comparing interactive objects with environmental shit, kys
Looks the same, thanks for confirming my argument instead of posting an example where it does stand out in the OG.
>he doesn't kill Charlies for their precious ammo
The image clearly shows they were not highlighted, if you can't figure out they stand out because it would be wasted effort to perfectionade every single interactable you're missing brain functions.
>pre-rendered backgrounds
You have no idea what you're talking about
Hes talking about 3d objects in RE1, YOU have no idea what youre talking about
Oh shit you're right
You mean the games where the items are literally glistening supernatural light as a visual indicator that it exists?
Uh, you may have brain-damage and are remembering wrong or you've never played any of those games. Glowing objects were almost exclusive to Ubishit games prior to the early/mid 2010s and none of the RE games I've mentioned have glowing boxes. Stop being a Black person and try to actually use your brain for once.
Zooooooooommmmmm
You do realise people are talking about interactable environment objects, right?
See
One of those is simply a side effect of 3D rendered objects on a prerendered background beeing taken advantage of. The other is using a lighting trick to get the same result.
You can use similar and more subtle tricks now for the same effect and not resort to slapping yellow paint on everything.
Are you referring to the same games that literally don't have barrels and instead have fixed ammo/item placements that glow like God is trying to tell you something?
None of the older REs have outright fixed ammo and they all have barrels/boxes. Idk what you're smoking.
>None of the older REs have outright fixed ammo and they all have barrels/boxes. Idk what you're smoking.
To think you have the audacity to claim anyone arguing against you didn't play the older games is astoundingly ironic.
All of those games have visual cues
They do not. They have "stomp/etc" key prompts right next to the breakable objects, breakable objects are not highlighted across the entire map. If you don't want to have interaction prompts at all, turn off the HUD, there, fixed.
>talking about breakable objects
>moronic Black person shows picture of item drops
See #1, moronic Black person.
anon these welfare section 8 chimps are going to keep arguing with you even though those glowing item drops only come from killing zombies or breaking open boxes/containers with no indication that they contain anything.
You'd think after almost two decades on the internet I'd have learned this by now, except I keep falling back into it, despite knowing it's pointless.
Anon if people didn't call out moronic shit for what it is we'd have a series of DmC games, and no DMCV.
DmC is the only reason DMCV existed in the first place
Nope it's because the HD collection came out, and had better sale numbers than DmC. It was capcom testing the waters to see if people were still interested in the original series, and if they should continue it after the release of DMC4, after all the drama that ensued with DmC.
>Those don't count because...they just don't, ok!
It's a psone game, they stand out because of hardware and technical limitations, the background is prerendered for a reason. Also the image isn't from the psone game but the pc port because playstation had no anti aliasing, else they would stand out even more.
Yes, why didn't they color every single barrel differenct in a gamecube game?
skill issue
It should be on easy or something but not hard mode
>hard mode
Or fricking normal mode. Hell, it shouldn't exist to beging with
False, it's solely because of lazy developers not making breakable objects.
It's that simple, but they don't do this because overwhelming majority of modern assets are just store bought shit or something handled to external studios without any guidance or clear purpose of each asset.
>breakable/interactable objects not standing out anymore
>not normie pandering
WOW YOU ARE SO SMART ANON
I'm not a doomer but I think you have too much faith in the average player.
>recruit random 50 year olds from the street (likely homeless too) to play-test your new 200 million dollar game
>they're all shit at it
Gee I fricking wonder why.
Oh sorry anon, I think we're on the same page there. I think it's ugly but ultimately not a big deal or worth getting upset over.
Re4make is the just current next big thing for Ganker to doom meme post since wo long came out and they already forgot about it.
There's at least a dozen more examples of someone simply playing badly, not being outright brain-dead, but just making really weird decisions regarding combat.
letting normalgays play vidya was a mistake.
Now you often have to wait several weeks, if not months, or even a full year, to have a playable and acceptable game, like with DL2, 2077, every CoD since WW2 and so on.
not like it wasn't*
Anon even if some people are really that dumb they're the minority a gross minority, the game won't be built around those people. The point of the yellow paint isn't so people can see them at all. It's to simple streamline the process of finding all the loot in an area. Do you think people want to waste their time looking for boxes? No, it's not fun, at least not in RE4 with it's action focus. Why do you think that it's only the loot crates, windows and shit like that that get this treatment and not say the treasures or the puzzles that we know from leaks are still in the game? Literally think about this shit for 1 second and you'll realize how stupid it is to think they did this in case people missed it.
>le I need to grab 100% of the items
What's the in-game map for? Which, for some reason, people still look at 24/7, to make sure not a single bullet has been missed. Imagine playing a game like you have the literal dev next to you, giving you tips every single turn.
It's bad enough watching first impressions streams where they even missed some yellow paint boxes just walking past and not even looking at that side of the area.
>more than half the replies thinks this objectively wrong person is right
holy frick Ganker
What you're witnessing is something called "coping"
Go back to grooming kids, Nintentoddler.
>What you're witnessing is something called "coping"
Sure am, it's these posts right here.
modern game should allow total interaction, not big markers on the only shit you programmed to work because you are incompetent.
Sorry, gotta put all that extra CPU power towards rendering every pore and hair folicle on the character's face instead. Actual gameplay improvements are too hard.
>interactables
>GPU power
This entire argument falls flat when every crate has a floating button prompt to break it when you get close to it
Disable your HUD, there, fixed it. No more distractions.
who are you quoting
I personally like the "Witcher/Batman sense" solution where such objects are highlighted when you activate a mode dedicated to highlighting objects and/or objectives.
Makes sense that the character would for example spot important plants better than the player himself would.
The solution is very simple: Devs need to be better at level design.
If you need to place item somewhere make the area around it well lit (in a way that feels organic) or don't put tons of assets around it that would mask it.
How is this a solution if when the color wouldn't be there they would still effortlessly recognizable.
The solution is even simpler, just don't smear yellow shit on them.
Then they need to stop being fricking lazy and have better visual design instead of bright yellow "IM W GAMEPLAY OBJECT" bullshit
Based. Triggering all the terminally online lovers with facts and logic
Welcome to Ganker where neets who have never left the house come to complain about things no one cares about
This would be fine, until you see the leaked gameplay footage of them using yellow paint lines to guide the player down corridors as well.
Sorry bro, the PlayStation cannot handle big, constant real time physics simulation like breaking down the entire environment around you without dipping down to 24 fps
>those objects were standing out in them as well. just differently.
Technical limitations. Now they can blend seamlessly and should stay that way
literally the only good response to that moron's copium induced nonsense post
>I know you gamers
So you don't consider yourself as one of us. Just another loud, moronic tourist.
>a good argument in Ganker
No way.
>In original RE4 you can spot a breakable crate from miles away.
>In modern graphics, they'd blend into the environment seemlessly.
Just make them a little different then, there's no need to paint everything with yellow crosses. That looks so bad, holy shit.
I agree, which is why we should turn the graphical fidelity dial down at least 3 notches.
I know pandering to disabled people is all the rage in the industry these days.
>because 10 years ago modern games that were already casualized to hell didn't have it.
see
its just a different version of a thing you already know
because its aimed at literal morons
this is no conspiracy theory
this has nothing to do with graphics
you have devs using motherfricking DSP footage to help streamlining their levels
So you're saying you are a moron and need someone to hold your hand to get to the box in time so you can dilate without your neofrankensteingina closing up?
If I'm in the middle of combat I don't want to waste my time looking around. I want to see that shit from a mile away and rush to it to get some pick ups. You're a crybaby homosexual and with all this projection you're doing, probably a troony too. You're mentally unwell, either take your meds, dilate or have a nice day.
If you can't immediately spot a crate/barrel/vase in a game where it is common to hide shit in that or are a returning player that is already familiarized with the series you have most likely damaged your brain beyond repair if you can't put it together that there is most likely something hidden within it, and that you should go over, and break it. Clearly all the estrogen, and ssris have turned you into a moron if you can't efficiently spot what does, and does not look interactable. Why not just have "LOOT" in big bold letters so your moron brain immediately knows to walk on over? It's clearly the direction your dumb Black person brain wants things to go.
What part of in combat did you not understand you fricking moron? When I'm fighting off enemies I'm not paying close attention to the environment. I see something that sticks out from the corner of my eye. You are an actual fricking moron to talk this much like being able to spot crates is impressive. You're like a child bragging about being able to put shapes in holes.
what part of you're a fricking moron, and capcom is pandering to your dumb Black person brain to get your welfarebux did you not understand.
also
tl;dr:not reading your blog Black person
>y-you're dumb
>a-also I didn't read your post you made it too long despite it being shorter than the post I made that you replied to
kek, you're fricking done. Concession accepted. Next time don't speak up when you have no clue what you're talking about.
tl;dr just saw you're still being quite homierdly with that Black person brain of yours 🙂
Well, well, well, looks like he couldn't handle it anymore and this Black person finally revealed his full moronation by frogposting kek
>frogposting
where do you think you are moron? go back to resetera.
>I'm such a smart gamer, my IQ is so god damn high I can see boxes even without yellow paint
Peak Dunning Kruger post right here. Imagine talking this shit like it was impressive.
NTA but anon, the breakables in elden ring aren’t tied to progression or vital recources
Its really redundant too because there's already a button prompt telling you to press X when near one of these to break it open.
Then every game in existence is stupid to you, because every game that exists has something equivalent.
>good level design = using lights and basic flow to guide the player and their actions
>bad level design = splattering everything in Simpsons cum and having literal GPS in half of modern day games
In reality he's just got a moldy brain, literally. Which somehow was never picked up on by Umbrella, it's like they gave him some Aspirin after the whole ordeal and called it a day.
Yeah you would think that being in an area with fungal spores would prompt someone to see if he was infected since it's easy to breathe in. Crapcum is dumb or at least the people running RE right now. Can't say anything bad about the new DMC game it was pure kino.
Yeah, the writing was never RE's strong suit, not the direct writing anyway, but frick me, the recent games are just awful when it comes to basic b***h logic, RE8 is the peak of moronic, nonsense writing.
So it's lose/lose, either you get shit games or you get to lose brain cells trying to argue with actual troglodytes. Amazing set of choices.
>So it's lose/lose
It be like that in this spicy world of tards anon sometimes you gotta wrangle them
>Thing illuminated by neon light gud
Thanks for literally proving my point.
But anon, 10 years ago mirrors edge was a thing
can't play games with that shit
just turn it off or make it an option
shits moronic
>i want the game to be vague much as possible on it's mechanics so we know frick all what to do in game
i hate these homosexuals
I love the magical fairy that goes into my games leaving paint and tape everywhere!
i bet this game is fun. it's been a very long time since i've plaed the old one. it must be fancy with the graphics stuff, and i have the PC to run it too. i just have to wait a month. this will be a blast
Never forget.
you need to transcend and realize games arent made for you they are made for 80 iq tax farm bots.
>one guy
>moronic
>hey, let’s make our game cater to moronic guys
>hugely successful
Really makes you think.
I bet fat californian woman are part of the dev team
good morning sirs
remeker 4 good do the needful and prebuy
>he doesn't know that the whole point of that shitty meme was to bait (you)
imagine being newer than 2022
good morning sir
did you know that this was spammed for awhile on Ganker? then your homosexual asses got ahold of it as you always do. did you know that it originated on reddit? did you know you're a homosexual?
not that anon but you're wrong it originated from Ganker from all the indians coordinating to shill animal shitcoins and their posts being in broken english and easy to spot. i should know because I have been on Ganker for years, and it has been a thing for a long time. newbie
that was easy. not only did i get a newbie, i got a Gankerntich too
keep going newbie it got popularized because of the article talking about whatsapp, and how they would crash the servers from saying "good morning" to other indians, and people outside of india, but keep acting like you know what you're talking about 🙂
come spit butter parmesan into my butthole and shout lies in my face. Ganker made your moronic cirlclejerk happen
https://www.indiatimes.com/technology/apps/whatsapp-freezes-because-indians-send-over-100-crore-good-morning-messages-it-just-can-t-handle-338246.html
it's true anon sorry to call you out in a such a mean way, but you were being moronic, and it was posted on Ganker first. you saw it on Ganker because the meme is funny, and because it's funny it somehow circulated over on that board.
you are the dumbest memehomosexual i've seen all day. i wanted to say i feel bad for you, but i really don't. where do you get off making these ignorant claims? your links are old and your claims are predated
>moron newbie caught being moron newbie
>y-y-you're link is outdated it's not true STAPH EEEEEET reEEEE
lmfao you got caught newbie own up to it the meme originates from indians crashing whatsapp from saying good morning, and it started on Ganker because people parrot what they say back in a much more broken variation of english.
the 'meme' originates from the jokes made about them, you're right. Ganker didn't start the 'meme'
literally never said that I said Ganker didn't start it, and it was started on Ganker because people hate the influx of indians who invaded the board, and them crashing whatsapp was a running joke used to insult them but keep obfuscating it to try and distract from the fact you're a newhomosexual.
>literally
that's all you really had to say. never once had an original thought in your life. you would know not to say it, but you don't
you dumb illiterate zoomie frick holy shit. that is the proper use of "literally" given the context of the statement. I know your generation uses it in every other word, but that is what that word is meant for given the context. I "literally" did not say Ganker created the meme, because they didn't. Go post feet or something in your off-topic thread moron.
i unironically and quit literally tbqhwy did not read your post xD
all you had to say was 'zoomie'
you type like them, you act like them. you're a normalgay with no idea what to do
>all you had to say was zoomie
because you are, not an argument or you wouldn't get offended and would say "AXETECHUALLEEE I AM xx AGE AHEM" go back to playing fortnite moron.
i'm tired of seeing the same words. all of these words were never shit out practically didn't exist until homosexuals like you showed up in 2015
stop posting homosexual words
>I am tired of seeing words
then get off the computer you dumb Black person it requires you to look at them I know reading hurts your Black person brain, but it's a basic skill required to engage yourself in places where discussion occurs.
it hurts. you homosexuals killed the internet
cry Black person I have been here since 2005 while you were still in your mothers womb.
>has to state how long he's been here
>can't stop saying Black person
feels good to win again. better luck next time, homosexual
>can't stop saying Black person
where do you think you are newhomosexual?
oh i'm on Ganker. i forgot this is newbie central. that's why you posted another Ganker meme attempting to fit in. but i know you came from discord.
sneed meme being from Ganker is not the argument, and that meme absolutely comes from Ganker. the "good morning sirs" comes from Ganker not an argument.
bullshit. take it back to your sneed discord cirlcejerk. you morons force every new 'meme'
This is the nastiest, scariest looking spider I have ever witnessed. He looks like a porcupine fricked his day up and now he has infections with quills poking out.
Im also getting Predator vibes from his eyes/face. Frick this thing and frick you for posting it.
what are you talking about that is clearly a delicious sausage pizza from chi chis pizzeria it even says it in the file name.
good morning sir!
POO IN THE LOO
>it originated on reddit
Pretty sure it originated in india.
>finally I can trick him
chris you dumbass, leon's just gonna shove a knife in her groin
and that isn't a euphemism
It is infinitely more based for Leon to chase prime Ada pussy (and Hunnigan on the side) than to doink this nerd
Nice try Chris there's a woman who's way more yellow than that in this game.
Superb
GAHAHAHAA
holy shit
Have a (You) you fricker
perfect
finally the first one that is actually funny
amusing, have a (you)
well done, have a (imaginary) thumbs up
Not yellow enough.
The frick is even supposed to be the joke? That Chris wants you to bang his sister?
Yes
>he hasn't seen the video
kek, saved.
And you just topped it.
Even if the RE4 doomposting and shilling is moronic I'm glad people can make funny OC.
Godspeed glorious bastards
Kek
i get the barrels and creats byt the fricking windows
"Yellow tape" is the newest schizo trigger? Awesome
no but putting assets in a game that doesn't fit the environment is triggering for anyone that isn't functioning off just two brain-cells at any given moment.
>no but putting assets in a game that doesn't fit the environment
This guy gets it.
Look, you're not wrong about it being a dumb, casual mechanic, but why are you so hostile and angry about it?
I didn't play REmake3, because it's a 3 hours long cashgrab, and for REmake4 a lot of these decisions like choosing to cut out Chief Mendez' transformation is LAZY, and that's exactly how I would describe REmake3 as a whole.
>third person game
>immersion
K
E
K
i mean you are pointing them out so yes
>I'd rather just hump and punch everything that looks vaguely smashable like in doom!
EUGH
EUGH
EUGH
The fact that this shit has been in the past 4 RE games and never caused this much outrage is all that you need to know about how genuine said outrage really is.
RE2 and 3 remakes also took place in a city where this yellow stuff looked more natural.
of all the issues the remake has, THIS is the one you all focus down?
I'm fricking disappointed. No, I don't like yellow tape either, but at least there can be game design explanations for that.
I wish you pieces of shit would get this upset over gameplay design decisions they have made that make the game worse, such as their focus on randomness to keep the player on their toes
>stab zombie head
>might cause a kick stagger, might do nothing lol good luck not committing to actions because you can't confidently gauge how enemies will react
>TMP just had huge random spread instead of just being more shakey to aim
These are the real fricking problems the game is going to have, you frickfaces
I could've sworn I've even had instances where I headshot a zombie and it didn't become kickable (not talking about turned ones)
>stop complaining about this non issue and complain about my non issue instead
No, I'm not a speedrun troony so randomness is a good thing.
It's not a good thing if it never makes you want to shank a zombie because you don't know if it's actually going to work.
Has nothing to do with speed running you moron fricktard.
Skill issue
>Oh no I cant game the zombies they're unpredictable and dangerous
Oh shit, its almost like thats whats meant to happen rather than reduce every single enemy to a walking hitbox with an invisible hp bar
If there were no paint you would be complaining anyway
Oh frick off, everyone had to google this one part in SM, the game was just obtuse as hell, being the very first metroidvania ever made.
Excellent bait. I'll wait for more responses to this post
it's like how people keep telling me that the post you jump up to from the ground was never anywhere else
sure that one singular post wasn't but there were places you could jump exactly the same
i meant to say assassin's creed 1 in there somewhere
>Things that don't happen and didn't happen proves that I'm right with something different
Real schizo moment
I knew scoutflies in world were a sign of terrible things to come.
>Drop player into hole filled with barrels
>Insert a "This shit is breakable, press X to destroy" flavor text
>Player goes through cavern breaking boxes, barrels, windows, etc
>Player exits cavern with newfound knowledge that these things elsewhere can be broken too
There, no more yellow paint. If the player can't figure it out from a literal tutorial then frick 'em.
NOOOooOOOO how am I SUPposed TO Dilate ON tTIme If I AM WASTING IT LOOKing FOR ITEMsss AAaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
To be fair there's nothing that suggests you could or should break stuff after the cavern. Some people would (understandably) be confused and might drop the game.
>Does it work?
>Twitter screencap thread
Didn't Village already do this? What's the big deal? You morons will complain about literally anything.
And you know what, Mirror's Edge already did this with red paint back in 2008, so it's not even a zoomer thing.
Not enough people played village, and I actually complained about it in the one anon's thread talking about the game today. The third person mode is fun, and there should have been an option to switch between the two without it being DLC. I mentioned that it clashed with the art design in the game, but not at all with REmake2, or 7 since police use yellow tape, and yellow spray paint for crime scenes, and there is almost a sort of piss filter in RE7 so it just works with the artstyle.
yes Village did it but in a way smaller quantity and more subtle
Resident evil 4 remake isn't being subtle at all
>it's okay when retro games do it
To be fair though, Mirror's Edge had an option to turn that shit off entirely. It was an overlay texture, not baked into the assets like in RE4R here.
>can be turned off
so you're saying I can turn off the moron proof indicators like mirror's edge?
Yeah, just mod it
So you can't turn it off like mirror's edge so it's hard-baked and requires mods? So I guess that analogy doesn't work then moron.
>NOOO the turn off button for the moron proof paint textures isn't moron proof
Just play with the yellow shit then lmao
show me where the turn-off button is in the options menu of REmake4 and I'll eat my hat on livestream.
Read my previous post
So there isn't a turn off button I need to download a trainer, direct it to my game executable, incorporate my mod through the trainer, and then launch through said trainer to have my mods work? Yeah that's not a turn off button you moron that's work to un-frick your moron accommodations.
Yes, if that's too hard for you just play with goo goo ga ga yellow slimes you fricking infant
so you admit your moron analogy doesn't work I accept your concession moron-kun
and you admit you're too moronic to download a texture mod
I accept as well
No one's made a mod like this for Village though.
Runner vision isn't part of the environment.
why do you fricks act like re4 wasn't already the most casual dogshit moron proof game of all time?
nobody is arguing that the argument is the spray paint looks moronic and clashes with the environment.
>nobody is arguing that
I mean reading this thread, "it's pandering to morons" seems to be the more common argument rather than pure aesthetical complaints.
nah my argument personally is it looks like shit, and I wouldn't have any issues with them moron proofing the game if they at least made it look aesthetically pleasing which is why I am going to mod my game to not have the moron paint.
yeah bro. I'd rather spend 15 minutes in every room slashing at every box and crate in the scenery than to put up with this shit. you fricking mentally ill incels.
Skill issue.
>SSRI brain rotted troon can't immediately spot what looks breakable, or what naturally invokes a response to go an investigate
>afraid he'll miss his dilating session
Not my fault you need pandering to accommodate your dumb Black person brain anon.
hopefully all these games pandering to me will send you into an early grave from all this seething, incel
more likely you'll self-rope given the 42% statistic while I mod out your moron accommodations.
>mentally broken to the point he daydreams about trannies all day
keep being mentally ill for my entertainment, incel
keep being fueled on ssris and dilators until you realize life isn't panning out how you thought it would your suicide will be inevitable they all are.
Love these projecting trannies pretending that going around and looting fricking boxes is such an important gameplay process that the game entirely cruxes on to work. This isn't RE1, RE4 is linear as shit, exploration was never an important part of this game. Why should I care if they streamline it to be just as easy as in the original?
>taking off the yellow moron paint is actually more accessible to the morons AHEM
wow this is HARD contrarian projection if I've ever seen it.
they shouldve just made them floating spinning objects.
They should have just made them giant yellow dilators since all the moronic troons would flock to go pick it up without question.
you're mentally ill
says the man with a 5 o'clock shadow who wears dresses
why would I wear a dress? I'm not mentally ill like you
you clearly are or you wouldn't be so upset by someone saying they just aren't going to buy the game, or will choose to mod it out while pointing out it's moronic art direction.
what the frick are you talking about
you must be mentally handicapped or just baiting
keep projecting
you talking like this is a clear indication you're moronic, AND mentally ill
normal people don't format a statement like this go back to school moron
(You)
banter used to be good here
>banter used to be good here
Please excuse him, if he can't talk about trannies at least every 5 minutes he gets very upset and his handlers suffer the results
>nooo my videogame has videogamey elements
Autism at work
>BLINKBLINKBLINKBLINKBLINKBLINKBLINKBLINKBLINKBLINKBLINKBLINK
this is OK
Haven't played nu resident evil so.... Is pressing X on random things and getting a description/commentary still a thing on this soulless ip? Reading that shit on the og games and on resident evil 4 was so much fun (to me at least)
Nope, specific things can be interacted with and you get a bit of info depending on what it is, but the game uses more environmental story telling now.
Which is fine, the description/commentary was because the games graphics required them at the time to give a more accurate representation of what was going on.
>OG RE
>Press X on desk
>"Its a large, stately, wooden desk, looks like it belonged to the chief of police. His name is on a plaque bar that's fallen underneath the desk. The drawers are empty except for one that's locked"
>NuRE
>Literally just show that shit and give the option to interact with the locked drawer
This was in the original frickin game.
lol no it wasn't anon stop being a silly goose
you don't get it, do you?
you just don't fricking get it, you have to be a troony
Whitened oak being used as a dedicated color scheme for interactable objects is not your yellow ssri brain rot troon paint.
Because OG surroundings looked like garbage which is not the case in the remake.
>not the case in the remake.
lol, lmao. LMFAO even
Nice meme reply, blind moron.
Caring about it that much is autistic. It's it a bit silly? Sure. Nothing more nothing less.
Absolutely it's 100% pandering to people too brain-rotted to think on their own.
So just make everything breakable
no anon that would be too cool, and we can't have something that fricking b***hin like complete destructible environments. you will get the yellow spray paint, and you will like it.
That is a moronic solution. It only adds more time to the problem.
Wait what's the problem?
How does that help in any way?..
Then you don't have to use ugly yellow paint
Instead now you have to increase development time by 8 months. Wow what a tradeoff
Bro it's 2023
Do you think engines can't handle breakable boxes and barrels? Or what would take 8 months
>NOOOOO I CAN'T WAIT A FEW MORE MONTHS TO CONSOOM!
You waited almost 20 years for a remake you dumbass chimpanzee, it wouldn't kill you to wait until christmas
>replace unbreakable prop barrels/etc with metal-reinforced counterparts and other props
>add slight RNG to some boxes so they can be empty
>???
>profit
RE8 already has RNG with some boxes, while others are set in stone. I don't see the issue with my approach, that's how RE4 did it.
there's nothing wrong with your approach morons will just defend nu-make because they love the moron pandering, and will make up any excuse to defend their moron paint.
You morons really do complain about the most moronic shit
You troons really do defend the most offensive shit as an obligation to be as contrarian as possible
>mind immediately goes straight to trannies
I'd say get some new material, but you're definitely too stupid for that so feel free to respond with dilate or whatever
There's unironically no way you can defend that garbage without sounding like a coping consoomer moron or a shill. It's fricking stupid, it doesn't look good at all but it will have nu RE apologists defending it.
I actually love REmake2, and prefer it over the OG, but you're 100% right only an absolute fricking moron would defend this as good art direction.
>defend
The fact that people like you actually get in arms over an object highlight so much that they feel the need to "attack" it, is 100x worse than people shrugging about it
Alright homosexualron, tell us why that yellow paint should exist
>you're a troony
>no you're a troony
>no you're a troony
When is this fricking word getting added to the filters already?
if they had the balls to do it, it'd change the entire site. it might fix a lot
nah you trannies just don't want people to keep calling you trannies like how you didn't want to be called soi consuming homosexuals.
let me smell your shithole and then you can b***h about troonys as i leave
just paint your screen yellow, and simply mentally gestate the smell fren
ew you're asian?
No just know you're a fan of yellow paint, so thought it would help you settle down instead of stressing in front of the screen.
i'm a fan of yellow paint?
when 'homosexual' or 'Black person' is used you don't really expect them to be a homosexual or a Black person, it's just an insult (well, most of the time)
and that's the problem with the morons using 'troony' as an insult, they're so fricking deranged and obsessed they actually believe that everyone around them is a troony
>you don't really expect them to be a homosexual or a Black person
but you're both so it applies to the context of the situation.
ywnbaw
Yellow item boxes have been around as long as gaming has been in color. Zoomers need to frick off trying to rewrite history.
10/10 bait
100% bait it'll still farm (You)s
There is literally a giant X marks the spot
Unlike previous remakes this one would be the most polarizing, the og game has been ported to so many consoles it has at least 3 generations of people who have some nostalgic feelings about the original, even non RE fans have tried RE4 because of how popular it is
>Shoot red barrel
>It explodes
>Ganker now hates this
The mario, and crash assets not getting (you)s so we're moving onto this now? Anon feed me stronger bait.
Hey man I only posted the Crash box. We aren't the same fella.
Red=flammable
Yellow=?
Objective of interest.
Makes more sense than glowing barrels.
Also more realistic and immersive.
>someone hid ammo in a crate in an abandoned house
>marks it with paint so those in the know, know what crates to look for
pretending to be moronic nonstop is not a personality. you are all only 15-25 years old
Perfect I know that I can interact with him with my knife, or gun now. Thank you kind stranger I think I would have gotten lost in trying to figure out what to do in this section otherwise 🙂
You're all gonna play it anyway.
It will be KINO once it has all this implemented.
also you forgot to included *fixed ashley. the current model for ashley looks like some shovel faced dog fricking starbucks enthusiast vs og ashley who looked like your typical big boob college campus girl from early 2000s
No the main crux of the issue is that you're autistic. "muh diegetic" shut the frick up.
It would be better if they just had a glow, or a shimmer or an outline or something like that.
When the "highlighting" is done in a diegetic manner it means that someone had to have ran around and painted every intractable object yellow before Leon got there.
When when it is highlighted non-diegetically with an outline or something its easy to see the outline as not being part of the world.
>give crates, and barrels metallic rim
>don't glow but rim slightly shimmer when moving pass
there we just fixed the issue morons can still spot the items, it's not offensive, tasteful, and doesn't clash with the art direction.
>asteful, and doesn't clash with the art direction.
lmaoo
>REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE YELLOW PAINT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
All i see is how INCREDIBLY pretentious gaymers have become.
What will happen if there is no yellow paint? Will it be more "immersive" for you? will the game become harder? Do you feel more hardcore?
Sit down and shut up, manchildren. You're just playing a fricking video game.
dumb frogposter
>Will it be more "immersive"
Thanks for answering your own question. Also, it looks fricking HORRID and moronic
>people saying "lol this yellow paint looks dumb" registers as "REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" to you
why
>Will it be more "immersive" for you?
Yes.
>Will the game become harder?
No, all breakable objects already look the same.
>Do you feel more hardcore?
Truly, return to monke. Soon RE will move from Spyro on the PS1 to SH on PS1.
Devs should make this a difficulty setting you can specifically choose and solve all problems with it
OP posted the wrong screenshot.
Why does every game have to have a crafting system?
wasn't there also a crafting system in the 3 previous RE games?
Re3, re2make, re3make, and re8 all have one at the very least. I don't remember if re7 does.
RE1 had crafting, you could combine herbs. BTFO.
It makes it so that herbs don't go into your suitcase inventory and are now just items on a checklist
Did you play the demo? The herbs literally do go into your suitcase and take up slots. Then you craft them through the crafting menu and the new vile of herb mixture takes up its own slot
Yes the bad games had it
Damn RE1 is a bad game now?
Yes. 4 and 5 are the only good ones
Resident Evil nor it's remake had yellow color shit, they just let some objects glint you dumb frick.
they are talking about crafting, learn 2 read
Oh my bad, I misread the posts that's was moronic.
Read the reply chain moronbro.
>you dumb frick
How lucky are you that you are posting in an anonymous forum, and therefore nobody will remember that you are an imbecile.
>the bad games had it
Glad you came to terms with the fact that you don't like Resident Evil in the first place.
The answer is unironically Minecraft. You have to understand kids who were practically raised on that game are now young adults or late teens.
this is him. this is the player who played one, maybe two, resident evils total
This discussion is so fricking stupid it hurts, 99% of normies won't even care
Most of them will just break whatever crate they see to get ammo, why overthink this shit now?
SUPERMARKET LINE
NOTHING WORKS
GETTING OFF A PLANE
NOTHING WORKS
GIANT YELLOW X’S ON DESTRUCTIBLE ITEMS IN VIDEO GAMES
NOTHING WORKS
I feel sorry for the modders tbh. It will be an absolute nightmare to fix the damn castle and it will take at least 8 dedicated autists to pull it off
What changed with the castle?
See
It's illuminated by a bunch of torch fire and all the smoke from the firepits, so of course the interiors would look smokey, but some stupid gays thing it's forced "distance fog" or some shit.
What about the dog? How would they even make Gigante interact with him?
Hope you can shoot the dog.
Honestly I there will be a plethora of autists trying to fix the following
>castle fog
>ashley
>salazar
>inventory UI
>moron paint indicators
>weapon models
>cum rain
With the amount of shit that would need to be fixed, it'd probably be easier to mod in whatever new stuff the remake has into the original.
>>cum rain
Straight from GTA SA definitive edition lmao. Wtf was Capcom thinking?
You can, you know, not buy the game if you hate it so much. The original is still there, you still own it, you can still play it whenever you want.
Literal youtuber npc dialogue. Got any opinions of your own on that empty skull?
Don't worry you'll get all that next week.
Yeah people are just whining at nothing. I want to see real shit. Guess this game is going to be pointless to discuss until the game is actually out.
What's to discuss? The game came out 18 years ago.
Your suicide date and where you're gonna livestream it.
At your house over your body.
>sexo doll
As if the coomer shit alone wouldn't make your opinion worthless you just had to have an actual moronic take attached to it.
>cringe
being angry and discussing yellow paint
>based
making memes about yellow paint without being butthurt
Should have been better gatekeepers.
>this shit never used to happen back in the days!!
>he's still trying
anon your baiting skills need work. should be "what is different in this that isn't present in REmake4 CHUDS?!"
N-no......... not............... the color yellow.................................
red barrels is needed in a combat scenario for the player to have a quick aquisition of what opportunities they have
yellow tape is useless in its scavenging scenario, there is no rush to know what can be looted or not + it kills reasearching for stuff + it's ugly
the only game that has forgivable markings is mirrors edge because is intended to be fast paced so you need a visual cue to know where to go
as far as i remember in re5 crates had no markings and no button prompt, how stupid must their new audience be?
RE5 does the same lighting thing that RE4 did.
RE5 crates were full_bright so they always stood out, and dropped items had a giant glow. Hidden treasures sparkled.
Remember when reddit wanted the island removed because IT'S SO HAAAARD? that's why yellow paint exists so literal downies stop crying about the difficulty
You morons are unironically so preoccupied with shitting on RE4 that you didn't even notice the same yellow tape was in RE2 and 3.
Quite literally not a single soul gives a frick about demake 3 tbf
>The doors and windows don't glow in the original
Was there a single door or window that you couldn't use? Is it the same for the sequel?
Chimping out over yellow boxes when it's literally a game that you fricking played 20 years ago lmao. Even IF they perfect it, it's a fricking 20 year old game lmao.
You morons wouldn't have any idea what progress looks like in the sphere of videogames if it hit you in the face, and most likely you have the same opinion as moronic homosexual journe-girlsts who don't play anything but consume goyslop like Blizzard games and whatnot.
You're gonna buy it anyway
>buy
>replay the og in celebration of the remake, normal mode
>out of ammo at various points

i do the greatest part about people calling it "casual" is the fact
1.re4 is already a very casual game
2.the remake willl 100% be harder
not that it matters, cause most people (like you gays) will play it about once on normal.
>Ganker doesn't understand basic video game design decisions
The silence speaks for itself
>Ganker prefer to explore maps for ressources and feel rewarded when finding hidden loot
sorry zoomer, not everyone wants to be spoonfed everything
This isn't resident evil 1. RE4 maps are simplistic as frick in comparison.
It's RE4 moron. It's a linear arcade shooter. This isn't the game for rewarded exploration.
There was treasure hidden everywhere. While it was very linear you still need to look around and examine what's to do,
now it's just a a yellow line telling everything.
Maybe stick to movies.

But you're defending the troony tapes.
noby
Treasures are still in the remake and still hidden. Maybe YOU should stick to movies cause you clearly don't play video games. Fricking dumb Black person.
>hurr the treasure is still hidden there is only a giant yellow arrow pointing to it and a yellow cross marking it's exact location
>it would literally unfindable if there weren't also a mark on the map!
Fricking idiot.
>has literally no argument so he has to outright lie to act like he has a point
Genuinely pathetic.
>replaying to bait this obv
ngmi
Look at this thread and tell me what's bait and what isn't. The line is so blurred I can't tell anymore. Plenty of people genuinely are that moronic.
Man you guys are clowns, have fun with your moron proof game, fricking imbeciles.
>HEEEAAAALP THERE IS A POT ON THE FLOOR HELP I FORGOT WHAT A DOOR IS
>Serious Sam 3
>spoonfeeding
that's now what this game is about. also i just remembered treasures exist, so look for those i guess. (if you are being genuine play re7, TONS of really cool hidden stuff taking advantage of the FPS view)
Despite the obvious glowing pickups Serious Sam 3 is filled with secrets that rewards exploration and platforming
That's a faulty argument because as you know the dumbest special needs kids get playtesting jobs and directly result in these yellow markings being added.
Hopefully they'll make it optional at some point. I'd love to turn it off
The problem stems from the fact that modern games are unnecessarily cluttered with useless stuff in the name of "realism". Not even film or television stage design does this. The end result is that there is too much shit that fights for your attention that you miss what you should be seeing. Compare the level design of remake to the original and you will see what I mean
Uh no? You know what a door or a windows is maybe check them out?
It's not cluttered with clearly breakable crates that everyone can figure out.
>it's not cluttered
Yes it is
>Hmm that pot maybe it's breakable
>Oh it isn't!
>HEELP HEEEELP BETTER PLASTER THE ENTIRE GAME WITH YELLOW TAPE
unbelievable
I don't think you're understanding me, you sperg. The yellow tape and paint is dumb, but the ultimate issue lies with modern games needing to plaster every centimeter of the screen with pointless stuff in order to be autistically" life like.
>all this coping
>all these deflections
>much yellow paint
now i know the remake will be good Ganker as usual is wrong about everything
