The resolution is just fine. The issue is that some assets are designed to cut off at the black bars. The Goku I posted for example has no legs or hands where the bottom bar is.
I'd maybe consider that in itself a valid justification if transformations, support films, non-attack active skills, and sprites had the same problem, but they don't. The first 3 are purposely designed to fit all screens and the last doesn't have any clipping issues by nature.
iirc they all give out the same amount from the boss battle, but I think I used stage 5 in the distant past. I think 7 is best to avoid since the robots have multiple phases. If that doesn't work out, just run 1, 5, and 7 all once to test.
You can make the UI's background expand vertically, but the SA animations are still letterboxed because the assets aren't that big and it would look like shit stretched in one direction.
I'm not looking to stretch it and when I try the full screen mode in that game bar thing, it fricks up the touch screen. What I want is to just remove the black bars and the only way I can get that at this point is to let the game run in the background for a few hours in the middle of a battle, start it back up, and hope the game reboots for a sec and removes them.

I beat lve, lgbtq, lge all no items with them. Same with any of the idbh missions. They also have uses in sbr and esbr. These first 4 red zones are also doable with them. I also did 2 gods with them. So I'd say 95% of content theyre fine with.

Red Zone is the only hard piece of content left in the game. It's very easy to walk all over the LGE etc, ESBR, and SBR these days with the amount of powercreep and bloated leader skills.

Power absorption is probably the best you're going to get but most of these units don't share many if any ki links.
You could swap out str buu with teq buu maybe? Or teq king piccolo/str tao maybe it's not a very cohesive team but all of the members are good enough on their own. I'll even test it if you give me a minute, the buus will be great for healing.

Aside from obvious things like attack and defense, they have some pretty bad Ki problems under not-optimal situations, and sometimes even the optimal ones aren't enough.

Bojack does better with STR Boujack, but you still need to fully LL10 both units and you can't transform the DFE because he loses the Support effect and turns into a 6 orbs memer.

By that metric, the WWC event will be easy as frick, we may or may not get another Legendary event that's well balanced to the current power creep, and the 8th anni event will have 3 or so impossible stages with mostly easy or medium difficulty stages.
Which means decent EZAs will have a year or 2 long shelf life as they've been having.

Honestly, the red coin system is kind of a shitty pity system. If you don't pull the new unit then you have to wait for that unit to return on a new banner, which can take 2-3, maybe 4. If it's a dokkanfest lr then you have to wait a very long time, and it's especially bad for gbl because we have to wait 11 months for the WWC units to return and they're usually power crept by the time they return. I wish that the new unit would be guaranteed after x amount of summons.

It depends on your rng and if you have the new LRs or not. Every phase can ruin you with a stray super and Baby can do multiple AoEs/supers per turn + stun.
For example, I got to the last phase and set up my phy Gogeta for a Dokkan mode, but he got stunned in slot 1 and I died before I had the chance to do shit.

Why the frick would they give his active skill stun rather than delay attack like Pikkon? Literally every red zone and long event are immune to stun long before this is useable and you will never proc it in SBR due to the fights being too short. What were they thinking?
I guarantee you his damage reduction was higher, but after realizing how broken Bejita and Trunks were in practice, they lowered it. Zimzam shafted again, for the final time. Imagine your 5 year old LR being better than you on release.
The numbers on him don't seem too wild but what he's actually doing is pretty nutty, 200% ATK & DEF on Super with 20% - 30% damage reduction, and a guaranteed additional Super when both of his SA effects is greatly raising ATK & DEF? WITH potential super effectiveness? He's going to be really good
I was expecting less dull animations after Golden Freeza and Vegeta/Trunks, but that just makes it an even easier skip on top of being a garbage character.

OPTC doesnt auto set it like Dokkan. The mirrored leader also isn't maxed out or has abilities. Or at least not until the next update coming up where the mirrored leader copies your leader strength finally, in that case it took 8 years for that.

Get the leader for a category, put that in the first slot, select the category from the list and fill in the remaining slots with characters on that category. The links and shit barely matter anymore, just pick good LRs and they will carry you through most content.

The first wave wasn't bad at all. Ledgic is weaker than the god event imo and the others are around or only a little harder. The new ones are hard but 13's typing make him very manageable. Haven't managed Baby just yet.

LR Super 17 is ass and will get you killed if you're unlucky or not careful. You probably need a 2 dupe Omega for the crit and having LR Shadow Dragons at 90% is a must. Also take teq Nuova if you have him with 3+ dupes.
Beyond that, you just have to keep trying until it works out.

I have over 700k, that's not the issue. 170 support film would eat up 51k each time. Making that decision once would be fine, but doing it 5 times would instantly blow a third of my savings and I'd rather keep that around for when I inevitably have to frantically search for gregory/gero/reverse medals every half hour again.
This is all the same problem at the root. You don't play the game enough and that makes it so you still have to worry about things like this at all. Keeping unawakened units in your box unironically does negatively affect your summon rates.

I did great on this banner though. I went from having 0 of the featured units to having literally all of them except Buutenks, some with dupes even. I only put in about 500 stones, too.
They are for the most part but eza androids are super useful on an androids/cell saga team, especially if you don't have every cell gero and the teq Droids.
They're free too you get the eza just by playing the game so it's worth it. Though I could be wrong, I never saw anything about ezaing them I just played the game and got medals for then. They hit like a truck and have great defense post super, but not before so they aren't a first slot unit.
This is the team I use.
PHY Ginyu is ok with the eza but he's expensive AF
STR Goku and Vegeta are pretty good
STR Beepan is useful
AGL FP Frieza is good
AGL Androids are good with EZA

you can run easily the Ginyu Force team without him, just with AGL Ginyu and the F2P ezas if you want, they are good (not red zone good, but you could probable beat some LGE with them)

Sworn Enemies and Dragon Ball Seekers are as straightforward and obvious as you can get. The only flaw with the composition of either is the heroes and villains that share a team in the latter, and even that's fixed simply by just taking an entire super or extreme team.
All I can give you is that Bond of Friendship is a stupid idea despite working well. If you want to make an all Trunks team, you can already do that, so it's pointless as a backbone for a new category.

I just don't see how it's more than a novel gimmick. The only common link all those characters have is Cold Judgement if that, meaning it'll be really difficult to run without a 4 ki lead and bottleneck units who simply won't link properly here regardless.

I know that PHY Nuova was introduced 6 months before GT Bosses was a thing, but why even add him in that and not GT Heroes when he's nearly useless in a majority Extreme team.
Phy Gotenks was the first and only case of this happening I can remember. Nip players got really pissed off about his passive and b***hed about it to the point that they nerfed him right before release. I can't even really fully remember what the buff was, but I want to say that in his passive he not only nerfed his def for the first 7 turns, but also his atk too. So instead of being a 60% buff it was -60%.
can anyone give me some really basic teambuilding advice for virtual clash? I'll admit I'm a big moron and mostly just use the wiki to spoonfeed me teams, but I want to try to get into actually building them. I just can't tell from reading them which units are great tanks, or stuff like that.
Build mono type teams for each boss and throw in units with sealing, stuns, or debuffing for the more challenging bosses. I got away with having one leader be 100% and the other be 90% for most clashes until i got type leaders and better units in general. Once you get enough units you can start making passable mono type category teams like PHY Gokus Family
You can throw in some f2p teams like team bardock or the ginyu force as filler for level 1 so you save teams for level 3. i also throw all the Representatives of Universe 7 f2p/gold coin LR units under a Goku&Frieza lead as another filler team since they pretty much are worthless elsewhere
200% teams are also able to brute force some of the later stages
One tip i saw that was actually useful is put all your units you want to use for Ultimate Clash under a tag in the character list so you can select all instead of having to select every individual unit every time you want to change things up. It also helps to update the roster whenever you pull better stuff

Each boss fight is a seperate fight and they are only one type. Having type advangtage gives your units guard which gives you a better chance to survive with a shitty team
The "stages" in virtual battlefield are all Individual fights you use a different team for. Battlefield typically has 2 fights of each type. So the simplest way of doing things is making mono teams, 1 super and 1 extreme for each type, and using type advantage.
ie:
Level1 Stage1 Teq Goku: use an Int team
Level1 Boss Agl Vegeta: use a Teq team
Level2 Stage1 Int Goku/Vegeta: use a Phy team
Level2 Boss Teq Goku: use your second Int team
etc
In typical battlefields thee different bosses will have different status immunities, and you'll probably want to use units that can apply the debuffs they're vulnerable too and/or buff their own defense. The current Anniversary one is fairly simple though so just use your strongest units.

This. I came back only for all the free shit this anni and was immensely disappointed despite having such a fun team now. I can't just play a few high level pvp matches and call it a day. It always has to be an hour of daily grinding, a dozen hours in pvp for a decent rank and chump change in CC, fumbling around in ToP since I don't have specific Zenkais and can't even get them from the drip-fed shop, rinse and repeat.
It's a combination of all the most cancerous shit going on at once. When you make an account just to abandon it and never set the friend lead, it defaults to whatever random crap you pulled. The bot made for the QR code scan is just spitting out bot accounts for that and it's the Anniversary so people are just generally rerolling and abandoning accounts as well as botting because they don't want to play the game.

3 dupes and the extra stats really help for putting him in slot 1 in the last phase. You should be using 1 dupe minimum, but the more you have, the easier your life will be.
You either don't have all copies of the Shadow Dragons or you didn't grind their links, so which is it? This is also pre-super which gives them an extra 240% to both stats.

The resolution is just fine. The issue is that some assets are designed to cut off at the black bars. The Goku I posted for example has no legs or hands where the bottom bar is.
I'd maybe consider that in itself a valid justification if transformations, support films, non-attack active skills, and sprites had the same problem, but they don't. The first 3 are purposely designed to fit all screens and the last doesn't have any clipping issues by nature.

I beat lve, lgbtq, lge all no items with them. Same with any of the idbh missions. They also have uses in sbr and esbr. These first 4 red zones are also doable with them. I also did 2 gods with them. So I'd say 95% of content theyre fine with.
Red Zone is the only hard piece of content left in the game. It's very easy to walk all over the LGE etc, ESBR, and SBR these days with the amount of powercreep and bloated leader skills.
Janembuu and Xeno Goku/Xeno Vegeta do.
The rest top out around 300-400k though under best conditions.

Power absorption is probably the best you're going to get but most of these units don't share many if any ki links.
You could swap out str buu with teq buu maybe? Or teq king piccolo/str tao maybe it's not a very cohesive team but all of the members are good enough on their own. I'll even test it if you give me a minute, the buus will be great for healing.

WWC always introduces some gimmick event that's never actually hard, just long and tedious.

Honestly, the red coin system is kind of a shitty pity system. If you don't pull the new unit then you have to wait for that unit to return on a new banner, which can take 2-3, maybe 4. If it's a dokkanfest lr then you have to wait a very long time, and it's especially bad for gbl because we have to wait 11 months for the WWC units to return and they're usually power crept by the time they return. I wish that the new unit would be guaranteed after x amount of summons.

It depends on your rng and if you have the new LRs or not. Every phase can ruin you with a stray super and Baby can do multiple AoEs/supers per turn + stun.
For example, I got to the last phase and set up my phy Gogeta for a Dokkan mode, but he got stunned in slot 1 and I died before I had the chance to do shit.

Get the leader for a category, put that in the first slot, select the category from the list and fill in the remaining slots with characters on that category. The links and shit barely matter anymore, just pick good LRs and they will carry you through most content.

Personally once I beat Red Zone I plan on saving all of my dragon stones until some more Hard Content comes out. It's not safe to pull on any banners until I know what I'm dealing with and anything I get will just be powercrept anyway.

The first wave wasn't bad at all. Ledgic is weaker than the god event imo and the others are around or only a little harder. The new ones are hard but 13's typing make him very manageable. Haven't managed Baby just yet.

LR Super 17 is ass and will get you killed if you're unlucky or not careful. You probably need a 2 dupe Omega for the crit and having LR Shadow Dragons at 90% is a must. Also take teq Nuova if you have him with 3+ dupes.
Beyond that, you just have to keep trying until it works out.

I have over 700k, that's not the issue. 170 support film would eat up 51k each time. Making that decision once would be fine, but doing it 5 times would instantly blow a third of my savings and I'd rather keep that around for when I inevitably have to frantically search for gregory/gero/reverse medals every half hour again.
This is all the same problem at the root. You don't play the game enough and that makes it so you still have to worry about things like this at all. They've done a few 170% leads now. I don't think it's possible to make a good guess beyond shooting at the dark anymore, although I agree with most of your reasoning.

They are for the most part but eza androids are super useful on an androids/cell saga team, especially if you don't have every cell gero and the teq Droids.
They're free too you get the eza just by playing the game so it's worth it. Though I could be wrong, I never saw anything about ezaing them I just played the game and got medals for then. They hit like a truck and have great defense post super, but not before so they aren't a first slot unit.

The only one that bs is Low Class Warriors and at least that one has cohesive links. The issue with other bad categories tends to just be a lack of attention rather than anything else.
I would not consider ki blades swords and the game doesn't either.
Categories like Sworn Enemies or Dragon Ball Seekers or fricking Bond of Friendship are moronic and only get by because of how many samey units it has, which Swordfighters can definitely get a pass for for Trunks cards
Sworn Enemies and Dragon Ball Seekers are as straightforward and obvious as you can get. The only flaw with the composition of either is the heroes and villains that share a team in the latter, and even that's fixed simply by just taking an entire super or extreme team.
All I can give you is that Bond of Friendship is a stupid idea despite working well. If you want to make an all Trunks team, you can already do that, so it's pointless as a backbone for a new category.

Phy Gotenks was the first and only case of this happening I can remember. Nip players got really pissed off about his passive and b***hed about it to the point that they nerfed him right before release. I can't even really fully remember what the buff was, but I want to say that in his passive he not only nerfed his def for the first 7 turns, but also his atk too. So instead of being a 60% buff it was -60%.
It was just a loss of 7 or 10% hp on his 12 ki super.

can anyone give me some really basic teambuilding advice for virtual clash? I'll admit I'm a big moron and mostly just use the wiki to spoonfeed me teams, but I want to try to get into actually building them. I just can't tell from reading them which units are great tanks, or stuff like that.
Just use your best units
Build mono type teams for each boss and throw in units with sealing, stuns, or debuffing for the more challenging bosses. I got away with having one leader be 100% and the other be 90% for most clashes until i got type leaders and better units in general. Once you get enough units you can start making passable mono type category teams like PHY Gokus Family
You can throw in some f2p teams like team bardock or the ginyu force as filler for level 1 so you save teams for level 3. i also throw all the Representatives of Universe 7 f2p/gold coin LR units under a Goku&Frieza lead as another filler team since they pretty much are worthless elsewhere
200% teams are also able to brute force some of the later stages
One tip i saw that was actually useful is put all your units you want to use for Ultimate Clash under a tag in the character list so you can select all instead of having to select every individual unit every time you want to change things up. It also helps to update the roster whenever you pull better stuff
Why mono type teams? I'm looking at the units on the wiki and it seems like each stage has two different types of units. Should I only worry about the one marked as the boss?
Type teams for each boss
Each boss fight is a seperate fight and they are only one type. Having type advangtage gives your units guard which gives you a better chance to survive with a shitty team
The "stages" in virtual battlefield are all Individual fights you use a different team for. Battlefield typically has 2 fights of each type. So the simplest way of doing things is making mono teams, 1 super and 1 extreme for each type, and using type advantage.
ie:
Level1 Stage1 Teq Goku: use an Int team
Level1 Boss Agl Vegeta: use a Teq team
Level2 Stage1 Int Goku/Vegeta: use a Phy team
Level2 Boss Teq Goku: use your second Int team
etc
In typical battlefields thee different bosses will have different status immunities, and you'll probably want to use units that can apply the debuffs they're vulnerable too and/or buff their own defense. The current Anniversary one is fairly simple though so just use your strongest units.
After the Namek level, they're also all weak to SA Seal so it's super easy.

Alright. Somehow I barely have any extreme type units though, so I might be in trouble.
You could do a mixed mono team, 2 super teams, or whatever you have units for. The team having coherent links would be ideal, but just having full type advantage under functional leaders so your filler units can at least guard and buy time for your good ones to win should be enough.

This. I came back only for all the free shit this anni and was immensely disappointed despite having such a fun team now. I can't just play a few high level pvp matches and call it a day. It always has to be an hour of daily grinding, a dozen hours in pvp for a decent rank and chump change in CC, fumbling around in ToP since I don't have specific Zenkais and can't even get them from the drip-fed shop, rinse and repeat.

He's better if he has BBB active and not in the last phase. Shadow Dragons' support is extremely valuable for floaters and general big dick damage.
3 dupes and the extra stats really help for putting him in slot 1 in the last phase. You should be using 1 dupe minimum, but the more you have, the easier your life will be.
