I launched minecraft, hit fullscreen and got an instant black screen. This isn't the first time fullscreening a game made my pc crash. When I fullscreened alien isolation it did the same shit. I had to reinstall drivers for 20 minutes for it work again. Please don't give your money to these subhumans. This isn't just "slightly worse than nvidia", this is pajeet tier bad
AMD is fine if you're running Linux because the drivers are open source
They're trash.
And they're not even fully open source, because the firmware is proprietary.
werks on my machine™
Oh, look, another NVIDIA shill thread.
Why does fullscreening crash my pc? Every time I fullscreen there is a 30% chance I will have to reinstall drivers again
6700xt
Dunno, it werks on my 5700XT fine and I'm using windows. Sounds like you didn't properly uninstall old drivers.
>Every time I fullscreen there is a 30% chance I will have to reinstall drivers again 6700xt
Post the crash log to prove you're not full of shit.
turn off freesync in adrenalin
have a nice day you tech illiterate homosexual
Actual coping homosexuals
I don't need to know everything about PCs to have a normal gaming experience. This literally never happened on my shitty outdated nvidia laptop. AMD drones are the pajeets of hardware. I'm not buying this crap again
Slit your throat on the way out
>consoles are le bad
>whaaaaaaat?! what do you mean i have to configure my PC? this is outrageaous
man what happened to pcfags
just get a console bro
That sounds like a (YOU) problem.
>tech-illiterate zoomer tranny has a meltdown over shit it doesn't understand
Just get an XBOX already, Jesus Christ.
this
if you're that idiot , maybe you should just stick to consoles
You shouldn't buy a gpu in the first place. Not worth it in the slightest.
Works for me. Sucks to suck
I unironically never had a GPU driver crash on me before I bought Nvidia.
Nvidia sucks on Linux but at least they aren't giving people bans
It was the Windows driver that got people banned though, because apparently AMD didn't think to share FSR3 details with Valve until after that happened.
This isn't a unique thing to AMD either in the way it works. DLSS does the same thing in the same way FSR3 does, game engines just have to have code to be aware of it because otherwise it looks like the way certain cheating software functions.
Still advisable to upgrade to a GNU/Linux based OS if you use AMD hardware.
Actually, Geforce Freestyle did get people banned from lots of things. It uses an easily-detected method of applying filters. They are the prime example of why things like Reshade have a lightweight version with cut add-on support that promises not to get you banned from games.
It's funny how selective memory works, though. Or maybe you just didn't see the right ads to know it was even happening.
>2023
>minecraft
You deserve it
i've been using a 7800xt for over 2 months now and no issue whatsoever
Op is just a homosexual
Enjoy your shitty third rate hardware amdjeet
Had a 580 before the 6600xt i've got now. Only problem I ever had with AMD was their stupid ULPS setting making my hdd randomly turn off after the computer sat idle for a while, but that took five minutes on google and changing two registry values to sort out.
Skill issue. Use DDU before installing a new card, homosexual.
>DDU
lol, lmao even. Most of AMD related problems are unrelated to older drivers, they're just broken.
>animeshitter
>is retarded
pottery
Whatever you say, Rajeesh. Works on my machine.
I don't think you should be allowed to install your own hardware.
GOOD MORNING SAAAR. I hope Mumbai doesn't stink too much today
Nice projection. Poor pajeets will buy amd, much like yourself. amd users are actual subhumans
>sell 3080ti for good money
>get a 6900xt very cheap
>happy with it, zero issues
>buy reference 7900xtx
>overheats
>get an aftermarket one from store
>overheats
>get a borrow card for the wait
>overheats
>get new card
>massive coil whine
>ask for money back
>fuck it 4090, get cheapest on
>flawless
Eh, I tried
>get cheapest on
lol retard
But it works perfectly tho?
4090 has 100w higher tdp
>>fuck it 4090, get cheapest on
poorfag
Dear game devs, if I can’t alt+tab out of your game and come back to it 3 hours later with no issues then you have failed and your game is shit.
https://community.amd.com/t5/graphics-cards/bd-p/graphics-discussions
I've been thinking about trying an AMD card again, and see everyone saying "No the drivers are fine now, this gen is fine wine and they fired the pajeets"
Then I checked out the community support forums and it seems like nothing's changed.
Buy AMD cards for linux machines, otherwise have fun trying to keep your box stable.
It's not just the drivers, some of the retail cards like 6700XT TUF which retailed for obscene markup have BIOS issues also on windows. It really really is a crapshoot, some AMD cards work fine on windows, some don't.
Grow up, I literally have to use my older computer because I'm in the process of resoldering my 6800XT
Works on my machine.
I mean they obviously do because people still buy them and most will never have any problems. However the amount of DD you have to do before a purchase is mind boggling and even then you can get fucked. For example used AMD cards are significantly cheaper compared to their NVDA equivalents because you can't trust them to work. Warranty with AMD is extremely important.
And by cheaper I don't mean in absolute terms, used AMD cards drop in value faster even though they can be "wine fine" so to speak. Vega 56 performed way better than 1080 but fell harder in price because of the aforementioned driver issues. I mean it's a good thing if you know how to identify broken memory chips and solder in replacements or at the very least use Linux as your daily driver.
All and all used AMD cards are excellent for the performance they offer but as a regular person who doesn't have the tools or skills required it's not a good value proposition
Vega 56 was faster than the 1070, not quite 1080 level. And its price didn't drop just because of driver issues, it also needed a disproportionally huge amount of power and had coil whine.
>Vega 56 was faster than the 1070, not quite 1080 level
It was after you UVOCd it and especially after few years.
>grow up
>literally
>linux
You're not only retarded, you're also autistic. Feck off dumb tranny.
>some of the retail cards like 6700XT TUF which retailed for obscene markup have BIOS issues also on windows
It does? I have one and it's great. The cooler is ridiculously overbuilt for the card's power level so it never goes above 60 C.
Bought the 5700XT when it came out and it worked on my machine, even with their early RDNA driver shenanigans. Have you considered that maybe you should've DDU'd your Nvidia drivers?
works on my machine
I genuinely have never met anyone who used AMD graphics and/or processors at any point who haven't ended up regretting it and upgrading to nvidia/amd. Even more recently with ryzen I had heard it was really good but I was surprised to find a good friend of mine who bought the 16 core variant a few years back ended up upgrading to Intel after a year or two because of all the issues he had with the ryzen which he says are no longer issues with intel. Amd just can't do anything right.
Nvidia/intel*
>r/ThatHappened
Why would I lie? I haven't been a PC gamer for years so I don't know of the issues if they are or aren't common but he had a ton of issues, even with small things like the motherboard type he needed for that processor had active fans for that specific motherboard type which was really loud and annoying. He went through like 3 or 4 and they either had annoying fans or unstable bios updates.
>even with small things like the motherboard type he needed for that processor had active fans for that specific motherboard type which was really loud and annoying
nagger wat
sounds like he's talking about x570 boards
Using those overpriced meme boards makes his friend even more retarded. No wonder he's having issues.
The motherboard model type he needed for the 16 core processor at the time only came with fans on the motherboard as opposed to passive cooling which most other motherboards have. And the fans on these motherboards were really loud and annoying. Keep in mind these were the top of the range ryzen motherboards as well (obviously for a 16 core processor) costing 300+ so it's easy to see how someone can be annoyed with what they're getting considering the money that's been spent.
>Why would I lie
Why would you post a thread that gets made around here at least once a month, it's obvious you're just trolling. Plus, your OP is just the typical Ganker "I'm a retard and this is why thing is bad!" There's no way you can be genuine. If you are, I suggest you get professional psychiatric help
You're confusing me for someone else
reminder to stop kvetching
i had nvidia cards for the last 9 years and now i have my first amd card since september. never had issues that weren't related to an unstable oc or driver corruption that could be fixed with ddu.
are you people really that stupid? i know this is Ganker but i thought you guys were a bit more tech literate than the average normie. instead of doing some basic troubleshooting you just bitch and complain just like the guy i sold my old NVIDIA gpu to. he messaged me a day after he bought the card and started throwing a temper tantrum about how i scammed him cause his pc keeps crashing. turned out he didn't uninstall his old drivers and used a sata to pcie adapter to power the card lmao
>37 / 7 / 22
russian amd schizo spamming on cooldown
Try playing better games
AMD? sounds more like op is MAD
User problem most likely, HOWEVER, I do know AMD GPUs aren't ideal if for older games, like Directx 9 titles or older, but those are usually fixed with DXVK.
It's a mixed bag. Some of them work perfectly and some of them are a fucking slideshow. The only reason I'm switching back to Nvidia with my next build. Pretty happy with it otherwise.
even as a new pcbab i knew not to go with AMD lol
atleast you got the brown noctua fgt
>israelitevidia jacks up the prices of their 4090
>at the same time anti-AMD shills are suddenly out in full force
really makes me hmmm
yeah, amd is such serious and threatening competition to nvidia that nvidia has to pull all the dirty tricks out.
I have an Nvidia GPU and I can't say much about AMD GPUs, but their CPUs are great.
i will do the needful and buy 10
thanks you sirs
>t. nvidia/intel shill
>AyyyMDTrannies in full force
AMD is shit
>AI jeetslop
Good morning Durgesh
Redeem the 4090 yes
>shitty AI image for comparison
The BMW on the right is a classic and would be worth more
full translation:
>microshit auto updated my windows which broke the drivers i was using
>i had to then update my drivers to fix microshit's bullshit
>i then blame amd, instead of the fascist AIDS-ridden corp who thinks its in my best interest to have 0 say about my own fucking computer
Why AMD poorfags cannot ever take blame.
>poorfags
I gave my 4090 to my niece for free two she can play minecraft.
Bought a kino 7800 xt instead
Damn, I wish i was your niece, though I wouldn't waste a 4090 on minecraft
As opposed to what, Cyberjunk?
There are no good games available that will make full use of a 4090, might as well just play Minecraft.
Because they're mentally ill. This isn't just a (shitty) product to them, they feel like they're a "team" and they must protect each other no matter how shitty their gpus are
paid street shitting goyvidia shills are at it again
>his gpu needs "drivers" to work
lmao
>I had to reinstall drivers for 20 minutes for it work again.
Winjeet issue
I'm not switching to your meme os
thank you sir, do not redeem the linux
>winblows and goyvidia shills all in one thread
Stinking the place up like New Dehli over here
Buy an ad.
>I launched minecraft
Running dual monitor setup on RTX3080ti and 7700X igpu, it works just fine.
amd drivers are notoriously known for being janky and hard to work with. you should have considered doing more research before buying a gpu.
I've also been getting blackscreen/driver reset errors lately. I'm gonna have to try using the older drivers
Win10/6700XT
Oh no!
Sounds like a skill issue
Interesting video. The big question - is that artificial Nerf even with free VRAM on 8Gb OR that's some smart allocation that limits resolution when you hit full VRAM?
I would say
>windows problem
But various brands have always had a history of fucking things up, like Asus reusing fans from Nvidia to cool AMD GPUs and causing overheating.
So, my question to you OP is: what brand did you get?
