Noone 'cracked' any drm, the capcom drm in many games (and well before all the drama) does not affect modding in any capacity, and even the guy who makes the mod manager for all re engine/Mt framework said it has no affect on modding.

The entire drm drama, similar to the whole dd2 'deleting saves bricks your account' thing are completely false.

Yes, all of them in both locations, every chest unlocked except the big one.
"Game of Wits" popped up as being completed and got the achievement just before she started to leave.
Sphinx gave me the "well frick you then" line after I shot her and flew away while the weird unmaking tentacles and blight effect were on her.

You have to shoot her weak point which is her wings. And also maybe you did do this but the arrow has to be equipped from the consumables in your inventory.

How come telling Captain Brandt that I was looking for Ulrika after she ran away from Melve completed "Readvent of Calamity"? Now I can't progress in her quest line. I literally picked her up from Harve and teleported her to Melve to put her right in front of her father and neither one cares.

Happened to me too. Don't listen to anyone else in this thread.
You have to get her low HP until she tells you that she's fricking off.
Then you equip the arrow of unmaking and shoot her just as she lifts off and it will actually kill her.
I had to watch some homosexual e-celeb's clip to figure it out because all the threads and claims online are bullshit and made up. If you shoot her immediately with the arrow she just fricks off, because it hard caps her at the final bar for the stupid fricking dialogue.

don’t know, my final riddle was the one that gave me the unmaking arrow and I equipped it immediately turned around, shot her in the wing and it killed her. think it doesn’t work if you hit her somewhere she wouldn’t take damage when you fight her, I don’t know, but it definitely works as a one shot kill

since you keep getting trolled and im feeling generous, ill tell you the reality

the sphinx will never die to the unmaker arrow in the first area. she's first found on that big mountain shrine, right? well if you use an unmaking arrow on her there, she'll say 'lol you're a brainlet' and not die and fly off to the 2nd location. if you solve her riddles there, she'll also fly off to the 2nd location (you can catch a ride by grabbing her before she takes off fyi)

its only at that second location, AFTER YOU'VE STARTED THE FINAL 'RIDDLE' WHICH INITIATES A FIGHT WITH HER, that she will die from the unmaking arrow

I finished the game a couple days ago. I think it's fine, it's not as much as I wanted, but my main complaints are that there was no equivalent to the everfall, there were barely any unique dungeons it was all mines and caves. not even a cool ass catacomb. would've liked more than 4 skills, miss weapon switching. in the first game i felt like i had a lot more reason to grind dragonforged and good gear but everything seems to die extremely fast in DD2 even without cheesing fights.
the 'post-game' world if it can be called that gave me pretty much zero reason to explore it as opposed to DD1's just to see what had changed. the fact you don't even fight the dragon if you want the true ending was a terrible idea, and fighting the dragon itself was even worse than grigori. i kept hoping i'd see a hydra or an evil eye but they never appeared, and otherwise enemy variety felt very lacking, not even a wieneratrice like cmon.

something happened that i never expected while playing the game, and it's what i just wanted to play DD:DA again. there was something crucial missing about the entire feel of the game. like the music for example, did any of it even hit close to stuff like cassardis theme or eternal return? because it felt very generic to me.

i don't know, a lot felt like it was missing. i still thought the game was fine, but in the end i really feel DD:DA was better. sincerely hope we get an equivalent to BBI.

      Anonymous

they've pushed the game out hoping "open world exploration" would carry the experience and they wouldn't have to bother with constructing proper quests or dungeons or even events in many cases. meet someone here, escort someone there, hopefully something fun happens on the way.

it's got good bones, it really feels like a narrative design team could have cobbled together something satisfying with it given time. a story with a beginning, middle and end with memorable set pieces, plot threads that actually resolve after being set up, and a few dungeon crawls could have made a 10/10 adventure.

the final riddle is to fight her, you fricked up

      Anonymous

You didn't frick up. The game did because of its moronic event flags. Her fricking off is her "death state". So "killing" her with arrow just instantly puts her into that state. You need to get her into that state by hitting her enough to aggro her and THEN get her down to dead the regular and only after that when she goes into frick-off mode are you allowed to kill her with the arrow. It's utterly fricking moronic and unintuitive when the arrow literally says it will instantly kill anything.

        >You need to get her into that state by hitting her enough to aggro her and THEN get her down to dead the regular and only after that when she goes into frick-off mode are you allowed to kill her with the arrow

You are fine to just switch, anon. Even in the first game when there was a difference, there has never been a reason that you couldn't say level Sorcerer for 195 levels and then play Fighter just fine. Most of your stats will always come from gear. You might be weaker than a Fighter who levelled Assassin (?) for 195 levels, but you'll still be stronger than all the enemies you'll face. It seems too is even less restrictive than not being that restricted.
Also Fighter almost certainly doesn't raise strength that much anyway. At least going by the first game growths.

I thought someone was trolling when they said that 1 did it better than 2 but they really weren't lying. And the walking on enemies thing just makes the game easy so that part isn't even an improvement. The only improvement to 'climbing' is that knocking over enemies by pushing or pulling them as well as the feedback from weighing them down or hitting them while they're off balance feels good. Particularly the pushing/pulling aspect, that's a novel feature that works pretty well.

From my experience climbing is tank controls. Up will always be moving forward relative to how your character is positioned on the monster and down is obviously moving back.

Some classes essentially lose 1 button, others none.
For example Mages always had the heal, now it's standard. So is fast casting. Same for Sorcerers, free stam + fast casting.

They really didn't screw over casters, I guess the most useless double utility slots went to Magick Archer (Ring function + manual aim) but on the same token they changed their normal "auto-attack" into a free Hunter Bolt (from DD1, except actually useful) - for example Ricochet hunter is no longer useless outdoors because you can quickly spam it and switch to eletric auto-attacks, whereas in DD1 you were just fricked with that element as a MA, and in DD2 you don't feel obliged to bring Ricochet for indoors + Boltchain Stake for outdoors (new element changing "Hunter Bolt" as a substitute)

"build" this is the problem. You're not "building" a mage, you're intended to go and rest at a campfire and swap out to spells that will help for what's coming ahead. Any weaknesses that you have can be covered by inspecting pawn skills in the rift, losing maybe 2 minutes out of your life. Even base Dragon's Dogma was about preparation.

yes, its a seeker token and wakestone. You use the catapult near the entrance to the castle, wayyyy over across the field with the drake. catapult treasures are cool but they all give such shit rewards. A mediocre cane and mace, 2 seekers tokens and a wakestone. There, that's ALL of them.

Just from the story it feels like the game was in development for a year at best.
      >There's only a handful of quests in the game and most of them end abruptly or weirdly with barely a conclusion
      >The main NPCs used for marketing and are on the cover don't actually do anything whatsoever

And don't get me started on how awkward unlocking the three remaining vocations are, especially Trickster which you are given absolutely randomly.
The game genuinely just falls apart in Battahl and if Itsuno and/or whoever was overseeing this doesn't get fired over this then there is no god.

I'm pretty sure if you go back to the gate it will automatically open for you if you get close.
Alternatively there is a cave (or potentially multiple ones) that you can take back too. Just walk along the cliffs close to the border and you will find one eventually. Just be aware that you'll have to scale the cliff and might not see it from ground level.

There's a flower shop right there too where you can buy and craft flower bunches to gift out.
Then just run outside, get a few of them following you and go into your house. You'll see them saying stuff like "Why do I have to share this space with this prostitute?" or whatever and eventually a fight will break out.

You'll get a pop up the first time one of your pawns infected. They start acting weird, ignoring orders and being more aggressive, then they start clutching their head during idle animations and their eyes turn red. If you ignore it for an entire week without killing/dismissing the pawn and then rest at an inn, they turn into a monster in a cutscene and kill literally every single NPC in the town.

It's "emptier" but less annoying compared to DD2. If you backtrack somewhere it's not forcing you to slay the same 5 goblin camps over and over again.

          Anonymous

I love DA but this is why I was suggesting people play it before 2. I'm 30 hours on my first run, barely touched the game. The exploring is good in DA but it's not even close to touching 2 in how seamlessly the world's setting builds on the experience. 2 is like an endless bag of "what am I going to do today?". DA has exploration but it's tied to side questing and MSQ. You're not going to take your pawns and immediately start exploring in DA. You can but that experience won't be the same as 2. It's a bit more limited in space and you kinda get put in a SQ or MSQ mood. The exploring is really good post-game and NG+ because of DLC from DA. So you'd probably have a more fun post-game in DA, but whenever 2's dlc comes out it'll be the DA equivalent. I'm sure you'll have fun but in my experience with DA I'm not sure I ever did much of just starting the game and exploring until post.

DD2 is bigger than DA. They're both good games. I think 2 vastly improved exploration and made the over world more interesting. The first hour of D2 is a lot cooler to me than DA

I just recently 100 percented DDDA before 2 and yeah most of these gays are just full of nostalgia. Like, the catacombs was cool but it wasn't that fricking cool. Waterfall cave was just as good from a gameplay perspective. I am looking forward for the complete 180 in opinion when the expansion comes out and everyone pretends they loved the game the whole time.

they were singular but they were a lot more fun than anything i found in DD2. whenever i did find a unique-looking dungeon in DD2 it was two or three fricking rooms.

There's catacombs, but they're skyrim draugr tier. Copypasted the same way the caves are.
I found one temple with a Medusa in it, but it was just one giant room in the side of a mountain.
I thought this would be the first thing they'd fix over DA1, not make it worse.

First game is way better in that the world is built for actual adventures, and yes those come in the form of quests because it's an RPG
Most of 2's quests are boring nonsense that just bounce you back and forth between settlements you can cart to so that you can talk to people

Meanwhile I honestly appreciate 1's tiny amount of hidden content you can explore for more, those post game unmarked lesser dragons in some of the game's cool locations that drop lore hints on you are more meaningful to me than the Sphinx having all that buildup to just feel like it was designed as a joke Itsuno threw in as a bet

I like it. 2's is better because it's bigger and have caves, but I don't care for the corridor nature of 2. The general design and aesthetic of 1 is really nice, it's just smaller in scale and ambition.

Holy shit archer pawns are so squishy, like the last three archer pawns I've hired have died super fast and their damage feels awful. I'm guessing I need to just look at their stats more than their skills at this point. Either that or the AI for archer pawns is trash and they don't fricking do anything, like shooting pillows at a tank.

Archers do little damage unless they non-stop fire at vitals, which requires them to use that one specific minigun skill they have.
The AI sometimes does that, albeit rarely. Also seems to depend on medal status. Archers just suck in general honestly and are only good for immediately decimating harpies.

T-TWO WARRIORS?!? I might try that, was considering two Sorcerers or Sorcerer and a Mage for spell casting amplification thingy to speedcast spells. I'm about done with hiring Archers though, really pissing me off with their shit damage and stupid AI. I play a Thief myself, but if I go back to Spearhand then that might make more sense to hire a Thief. I'm guessing Spearhand, Thief, Warrior and Sorcerer would be good. My pawn is a Sorcerer anyway.

How disappointing, still gonna try it out once I get it. I like that Warfarer is a jack of all trades vocation, and I saw some Magick Archer techniques in a video and they looked really cool. I'm most likely going to end up sticking with Thief, Spearhand or Warfarer for the rest of the game. Thief is the ONLY fun vocation I have tried so far, like legit FUN.
