The statement is as "gay" as you want it to be. A preference doesn't always denote a meaning of sexual interest. This is the weakest outrage bait so far.

No one talks about a "preference" for men otherwise. And even if it isn't meant to be the case, why change it? And remember what localizers are like.

    Kill all localizers
Localizers are all evil subhuman scum, changing even one word from the original text always makes the result unreadable trash that has 0% in common with the original text. Localization should never be done, the only true form of translation is raw MTL output where no disgusting human being has had the chance to """improve""" it by making changes.
I'm not interested in whatever moronic fanfiction the subhuman localizer vomited out, I want the original puns, idioms, references, sentence structure and grammar untouched. I play Japanese games for their culture, not American politics, zoomerspeak and moronic memes.

Boring is good, I like instantly understanding what the skill does instead of it having some bullshit fake medieval English name. I play with Japanese voices and holy frick is it so much better, most of it is in understandable modern Japanese with the exception of a few words instead of the forced Shakespearean trash. Frick localizers, stop trying to make things "interesting" and just preserve the original meaning.

Games are art. And I think that translators should strive to maintain the original artistic vision of the creators, instead of changing it to feed their own egos.

The funny thing is I would agree with the sentiment if it weren't for the fact that every minor deviation is treated with utter contempt. Your rhetoric is worthless.

                >just accept us vandalizing games by injecting identity politics where none existed and making up dialogue to replace existing dialogue we find icky

I think statistically there will always be something crappy in a localization. But I'm pretty sure localization has been on an upward trajectory in terms of accuracy. For example in the 2000s you had 4kids and I believe Ace Attorney is very inaccurate as well. I bet all the final fantasy games and resident evil (biohazard) games are filled with inaccuracies. I'm glad you guys are here to constantly keep localizers on their toes. But I don't exactly share your outrage, I just accept imperfection.

How are people falling for this discord troony bait? The pawns saying we prefer fighting fit men over women who should be in the kitchen or at home raising kids is based af.

The whole line is stupid anyway. I didn't play DD2, but if I did, bunch of men in full plate armor just rolling up and skewering things with greatswords sounds like a good time. Shaming people for going for rule of cool instead of coomer bullshit is just moronic.

    >Looking around, it strikes me that we pawns are all men!
    >I wonder if this speaks to the Arisen's preference?
    >I shouldn't at all mind if that were to change.

Seems like an innocent exchange, and the homosexual is projecting his insecurities.

Aren't you all tired of this? How much more of this Dunning-Kruger crap do we have to sit through?

    >pick all men
    >game insinuates youre gay
    >pawns talk about wanting you to hire women and being okay with it
    >pawns from other "masters" will comment on their gay masters "issues" with women as if it was an issue they had
    vs
    >pick all women
    >game insinuates youre a creep or have issues
    >pawns talk about needing "a conversation" about it
    >pawns from other "masters" will comment on the all female party they had and again, insinuate they need "a conversation"

Woke infects even the best of games, im literally just picking who has the best stats/gear/skills and doesnt have an annoying voice or look like a asiaticmold. I dont need this double standard troonylator self insert shit.

I'm more bothered that the pawns judge you at all. Where does their attitude even come from?
      >You are a fricking pawn
      >You are beneath a human being
      >You're barely even sentient
      >You're working for another Arisen so you can bring some bread home for your real master
      >Start judging and talking shit to guarantee you won't get jack
It goes against their very nature and their goals, just doesn't make any sense. That's like getting invited to your boss's office and you start dissing his golf club or ship in a bottle collection. Career suicide.

Name a single line in 1 where a pawn gets offended and starts shit talking you based on your party make-up.
          Go on, I'll wait.

          >DD1
          >Arisen falls into the brine
          >"Sure you've made a mistake or three... don't let it get you down."
          >Arisen has asthma and pawn comes to save them
          >"Ah, where would you be without me?"
          >These are from the arrogant personality, chosen by you or their master
          vs
          >Arisen has a bunch of dudes in party
          >"Erm, do you prefer guys? You should change the party and get chicks"
          >Arisen has a bunch of women in the party
          >They imply you/their master is a creep
          >Not bound to personality

People who make male pawns and play with male pawns deserve to be called a homosexual by the game, so it's a pretty positive spin on things for once.
