DS, the remake suffers from Atlus remake syndrome with new soulless art, the 'mystery new girl' forced into the plot, and the game having a sappy generic happy ending compared to the original's bittersweet ending. Also the worst part is how they nerfed the xp and gold earned from battles trying to force you to buy their grinding DLC.

Why the fuck do they always do this?
Because dark, solid shading is basically nonexistent on most games now. Evaporated around 2011 or so after a decline from 2008. Franchises that have gone a long time also saw a big decline in hard shading there too, such as Digimon, and only a few major artists or very cartoony styles like that of Yuji Himukai retain such solid shading.
Although I will say if the art were used for an original game instead of a remake, I doubt people would have an issue with it. There seems to be a lot of reactive, almost instinctual hatred of light linework or shading nowadays when compared to anything with dark/solid shading as it's gotten so rare in comparison. Aside from the oddly shaped heads in some, the new art isn't awful, but is markedly less distinctive and memorable.

You didn't pay attention, didn't you? Than "ancient demon" is a human that got corrupted by the experiments of some assholes that wanted ultimate power for conflict.
Its still a total copout that all the problems just get resolved by that, plus it has incredibly stupid shit like Heiss coming back to help the party which takes away all the emotional weight from his sacrifice
Fuck off, this is a game about fucking time travel so anything can be fixed (except certain event and the fact it cannot be fixed no matter what actually makes MC despair). Also as an extra fuck you: if you get absolutely everything then the MC obtains an extra power that lets him go to save the princess and the now uncorruted dude from the void they would have remained trapped forever with after the true final boss.

Yeah, it was implied that humanity fucked up the world trying to screw with mana but the remake tosses that all out and had some big bad who was responsible for it that they just needed to kill to make it stop.

Wait, I got a detail wrong, so let me elaborate: the "ancient demon" was some nornal dude that felt in love with the princess of an ancient empire but her parents say "hell naw!" And fused the dark chonicle with him, turning him into "the singularity" that destroyed the empire and started the desertification.
Considering that the empire that created the singularity used the flux and the chronicles to rule the continent with iron fist and created the red chonicle specifically to conquer alternate universes then it is still about "human conflict".
3ds,
it's better, has more content.

Shit taste and confirmed for getting filtered by the original game needing easy mode, the 3DS game basically voids everything about the original neutral ending that left vague hope for humanity, but nope instead they never get their shit together so they need the protagonist to baby sit them for all eternity.
There's no sense in arguing with retards like you who consider the change to being able to save anywhere a "QoL improvement."
