>Dude, I arbitrarily made this one megacorp in particular my life's nemesis for no reason lmao
What was his problem.

They kidnapped his girlfriend.
and SOMA'd her into the internet
Not that he found that out for a long time, once he reached her he thought she was just flatlined.
He was anti-Arasaka before because he's anti megacorps in general (an ideology he grew into because he was a soldier in one of the wars and realized all the conflicts came down to megacorps in the end) and they're the biggest and possibly most corrupt megacorp, but that event is what made it personal and made Arasaka his life's (or unlife's) nemesis.
He hates slant eyed morons.
Johnny fucking Silverhands was already anti-Arasaka terrorist even before they took Alt.
>corpos bad!
>uses artificial hand developed by corpos
Typical NPC behaviour.
>We should improve society somewhat.
>I can't make arguments so I let comics create retorts for me.
Why bother making an argument when it was debunked forever ago? Blame the idiot somehow still using a failed one.
>Yet you participate in society
>Curious
No, I won't post it, I won't sully my computer with that.
It's a home made robo hand from his own cyber-garden
>VUVUZELA IPHONE
You clearly didn't play the game or bother to reading the original lore.
>for no reason lmao
they kidnap and imprison his one-itis in a digital hellscape that he also becomes apart of as a spooky ghost ai.
this is the worst integration of the ghost in the net trope I ever saw and I even watched lain
It was just utterly underbaked. Alt had, like two lines to say 'WoooOoooo Alt's dead, I'm the epic cyberghost operating in levels beyond your comprehension woooOooo' before turning into a plot device that agrees with Johnny's plan on a whim.
>It was just utterly underbaked
Just like the game among other things
> for no reason lmao
Are you familiar with the concept of anarchism?
Not everybody needs to have a specific personal reason to hate something.
Yeah and look how well that turns out. Anarkiddies get BTFO’d by Tankies every time the Revolution ends. What a fucking joke of an ideology.
Johnny's a cyberpsycho.
probably just regular ptsd like a big chunk of the cyberpsycho quests imply
TOTAL ARASAKA DEATH
Kill Arasaka. Behead Arasaka. Roundhouse kick a moron into the concrete. Slam dunk a moron baby into the trashcan. Crucify filthy blacks. Defecate in a Arasaka food. Launch Arasaka into the sun. Stir fry Arasaka in a wok. Toss Arasaka into active volcanoes. Urinate into a Arasaka gas tank. Judo throw Arasaka into a wood chipper. Twist Arasaka heads off. Report Arasaka to the IRS. Karate chop Arasaka in half. Curb stomp pregnant black Arasaka. Trap Arasaka in quicksand. Crush Arasaka in the trash compactor. Liquefy Arasaka in a vat of acid. Eat Arasaka. Dissect Arasaka. Exterminate Arasaka in the gas chamber. Stomp moron skulls with steel toed boots. Cremate Arasaka in the oven. Lobotomize Arasaka. Mandatory abortions for Arasaka. Grind moron fetuses in the garbage disposal. Drown Arasaka in fried chicken grease. Vaporize Arasaka with a ray gun. Kick old Arasaka down the stairs. Feed Arasaka to alligators. Slice Arasaka with a katana.
>Whatchu you say boy?
>So this is Adam Smasher in the chrome? NC boogeyman of legend.
I played the entire game just so I could kill smasher for what he did to my becca
pirated, ofc
You look like a cut of fuckable meat. Are you?
>no reason
This is bait or you speed read too much trough dialogue.
I legitimately liked the ending where V gives his body over to Johnny.
So tell me, does the thought of giving your body to a man arouses you?
Hey fuck you, you fucking hack fraud.
No I'm pretty sure he called freud
I think that's objectively the best one, right? The only other options have V dying in a few months anyway or signing her soul away to arasaka and presumably being cybertortured for eternity. I guess the panam ending is comfy, even if you burden panam with seeing you die soon, but I never cared for the nomad yokels enough to do their ending.
>her
I wish the solo ending had an actual unique outcome that wasn't just The Star + Rogue. Fuck endangering my friends, I've got 200 proximity grenades.
>He feared the reaper
>presumably being cybertortured for eternity.
I'm pretty sure the idea was that Soulkiller in the end doesn't actually do anything for you, or anyone else. It just kills you and makes an AI that's not you.
That goes for all human-turns-AI media. Same as teleportation. The game even hints it in the Arasaka ending with one of the doctors calling V the ship of Theseus.
Hell, you can argue Johnny isn't Johnny at all. He's just a Johnny chatbot.
So you are just putting a copy of a copy of a retard on your body?
>Hell, you can argue Johnny isn't Johnny at all. He's just a Johnny chatbot
I always thought that was why he was so abrasive in particular. He's johnny pulled right in the middle of an interrogation and getting his brain copied while minutes before he was shooting up Arisaka and getting curbstomped by Atom Smasher.
AI Johnny is like a Polaroid of someone being attacked by a bear, it's not their most collected moment.
that's not what happened in reality, though. Alt says Johnny's memories are wrong because he's damaged, and you DO have to know metastuff from the tabletop to know what really happened.
It's the game's biggest narrative fault, and I suspect it's because they had wanted to address it in a DLC or something before they decided on what they're doing now.
During the raid, Johnny was one of three teams in the building, the others being the Player Character from the TTRPG, and Morgan Blackhand.
Johnny gets ripped in half by Smasher, and Spyder is actually the one to Soulkill Johnny as he dies in a last ditch attempt to 'save' him. I don't recall how Arasaka gets a hold of him and chucks him in Mikoshi, but yeah.
All the cells in your body replace themselves several times before you die.
But I never stop being me. There's continuity. When you get Cave Johnsoned into a computer, you die, then there's a little (you) inside the computer who may or may not be alive.
>Everyone just assumes Johnny stole it and killed V.
>Panam swears she'll hunt you down to the ends of the earth.
>Rogue shits on you and tells you to never come back to NC.
Feels kinda bad ngl.
>Rogue shits on you and tells you to never come back to NC.
I think at that point Johnny is a legitimately changed man and probably has no intention of coming back to Night City anyway, and probably wants to wipe the slate clean by leaving everyone behind.
Yeah, that was pretty obvious, but it still feels bad that it's what she thought was happening.
That's the canon ending in my mind, bittersweet but has the most hope. And I love how you call really feel the friendship between Johnny and V. V accepts things and moves on, Johnny gets a second chance and legitimately changes for the better.
>V about to cross the bridge
>"See ya around, Johnny..."
>one last handshake
>V goes to pull away
>Johnny doesn't let him for a second, but then sadly lets go
The game had a lot of fucking faults and was rightfully shat on, but it had aspects that I really liked
>wanted to do that
>pick Rogue for the final assault after fumbling the solo assault a couple times
>realize at the choice time that you do it as Johnny
>get in a shouting argument with V
>end up "you know what ? I'll do what I fucking want"
>go to leave the body to V, while V is crying for you not do do it
I just wanted to do what's best for everyone ;_;
if you play a female V does that mean Johnny is a chud?
female V isn't canon
mankind would be better off if men would stop trying to rescue women all together.
I recently reinstalled this game again. I played it when it first came out and had 0 issues, completed in about 50 hours.
I tried to play it again and it's fucking worse? Pop in, stutters, crashes for not being the most up to date version, LOD at close distances. really weird and not worth it.
alcohol poisoning
PTSD and ODD.
>arbitrarily
>this one megacorp
Arasaka is like the Blackrock of Cyberpunk2020
I always found it odd how everyone remembers Johnny or how his friends look, like, middle aged at best. It really doesn't feel like nuking arasaka was half a century ago.
Any random band being a remembered after 50 years is the farfetched part, but Johnny nuked Arasaka so the legend persisted.
But by 2077 things seem to have stagnated anyway, the world looked the same as it did in the 2020s.
>Any random band being a remembered after 50 years
>Led Zeppelin
>Pink Floyd
>Aerosmith
>Fleetwood Mac
>the Stones
>the Eagles
>Queen
I could keep going but you MUST be a zoomer
Also didnt he fight against Arasaka in the corporate war and came back from that a dedicated anarchist? I dont remember if he fought for militech or arasaka though.
>grr you destroy our big toweru....your punishment most severe.........
>we put you in USB chippu.........
they experimented on his engram for fifty years I'd say that's a severe punishment
In the future they will turn prisoners into NPCs of some chinese or korean MMO.
Just hope they don't turn you into the tutorial target practise pinata.
Kek, chatai is better than humans right now so theres no need to even think of using humans in the future for that.
What's The best apartment and why is it Northside
Glen apartment. Not as soulless as Corpo plaza but still slick and spacious.
cyberpunk was written by lots of different people with many different ideas that don't mesh, and why would they care? each one of them was only commissioned to write a section of the lore at a time. The fact that the mega corporations are basically corpo-communist dictators yet they get hamstrung by goons on the street doesn't really make sense
Because the goons are usually being funded by other corporations
>megacorp kidnapped gf and ripped her soul out of her body
>no reason lmao
choom...
i never understood why they didn't just
>make another chip with V's personality in it
>insert it into V's body while Johnny is the host
Easy peasy, V has his/her body back
Johnny looked like he didn't wanna be alive anymore after the whole ordeal
>>Dude, I arbitrarily made this one megacorp in particular my life's nemesis for no reason lmao
As if people on Ganker don't do this with Sony.
>cast "wholesome chungus" in cyberpunk 2077
>most topics regarding the game involve johnny
The main protagonist is overshadowed in their own game.
It's almost as if there's not a lot to say about the player self insert? Do people talk about the courier any more when talking about NV?
And fuck you. I liked Keanu as Johnny. Having V do a bad keanu impression when you let Johnny take control ought to be the funniest bit of the game.
People do talk about the courier often in NV threads. Keanu was fine as Johnny but his involvement changed the game from being an RPG with 3 paths where you could choose the "idol" you wanted to follow to focusing it entirely on Johnny. It's disappointing that they went this direction but not too unexpected.
I did not care for Panam
Did you not pay attention to his backstory? Your character literally ask him why he hates the Corps, he hates them cause they control everything and ruined people lives as he tells you about that farmer story, the average common folk get shafted hard and basically have no free will
he fought in the Second Central American War. He tells you this as well, along with his dog tags and arm and how he got them.
The anime didnt have the right to be that good
It was good because it had already established universe, which made everything else click. It wasn't your generic high-school or fantasy castles bullshit with barebones world building.
t. watched like 3 animes in last 10 years
poser anarchism
