It's actually orange and that killed it for me. I get that it's Valve's color but I'd much rather have a green or a white Deck.

You're joking right? Even just the jump from Van Gogh to z1 extreme is huge. You can't play most AAA games at 60fps with Van Gogh where the the latter usually accomplished 60 or at least gets close. A Series S equivalent Deck 2 would be huge for 60fps and even 120fps support.

every worthwhile game released this year is playable on the old deck and the oled is even better. deck 2 would need to release around the same time as the next console generation for it to be truly worth upgrading from either of the current deck models
I don't know, I'm always indecisive when it comes to purchasing stuff. It took me 3 fucking years to choose a TV. I already have a strong PC and I mostly stay home but I do love handhelds, so I should use it, hopefully. Though there's still that fear that I'll stop using it after a few months or they'll announce SD2 in a couple of years and it'll be the same price for double the performance or whatever.

I have a top tier PC but I love using my steam deck for emulating old games and playing indie games. Being able to pick up off your save from your PC in bed or outside is really the draw of the deck. If you have a lot of steam games it's a no brainer decision

That was my thinking when I ordered it, plus VNs. I also have a pretty hefty backlog on Steam that I'm slowly working my way through and most of them are verified for the Deck.
