Completely breaking the game with unbelievably OP shit and glitches and one shotting bosses is the best part of these games and I’m tired of pretending it isn’t. Nothing stops you from adding extra challenge, they don’t need to worry so much about the minimum.
The entire series needs to be like hexes were in DaS2. Imagine strolling up to that irritating shitc**t Gael and casting Climax once and he fricking explodes. I’m cumming just thinking about how incredible that would be.

Frickin this dude gets it. Like the entire point of the souls games is to start as a tossed away random dude and build your character up to be a god slayer. Only dipshits think you shouldn't be strong as frick or crazy by the end. Like pull your head out of your ass and stop trying to be a try hard, you ain't that guy

        This
It's like playing daggerfall and complaining that you can rape daedra into submission through speech alone by the end.

I almost completely agree anon. The only thing that I disagree with is using glitches. I prefer my character to be powerful rather than the game being weak.

I agree if we're talking about DeS or DS1, and DS2 and DS3 to a lesser extent. There are very few fights in the earlier games that challenge the player to fully express their character build through mechanical interactions. In DS1, when I kill O&S with a +4 BKGA I picked up in the Catacombs (like I did last weekend), I'm engaging with the best part of the game: feeling the bosses bend the knee to your knowledge and preparation. I think Artorias and Manus are the only bosses who are complex enough to feel like real opponents capable of fighting back, rather than large enemies transparently acting out their AI routines. In other words, they're the only bosses who deserve my respect as a player.
More bosses in the DS2 DLCs, DS3, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring belong to the former category, and so when I cheese the shit out of them I'm actually depriving myself of an opportunity to express my character's build against a strong foe. At least, that's how I feel.

I've one-shot bosses or cheesed them beyond belief, but it just feels like a waste after I prove I can do it.

I like the feeling of being powerful. I don't like restricting myself or playing by the boss' rules. I like making powerful builds and unleashing them on my bosses. The only challenge I put on myself was to not use summons for anything but the godskin duo in the main story. I beat the main storyline and then I also summoned for Malenia because if she's gonna cheat then so am I. She was actually incredibly satisfying to beat and grind down, so much so that she's become the ultimate test for my builds. "Can it trivialize Malenia" is now my benchmark for builds. Unfortunately my first build didn't pass the test since I had to respec to make something else. Although thinking back it probably could have if I cast fire's deadly sin since it would have applied stance break when she was done with her hyperarmor frames.

What build did you make anon??

      >Nerf bleed katana
      >Nerf ice stomp
      >Nerf rot spread
      >Nerf shield block
      >Nerf stagger fire
      >Nerf stagger sword
      >Nerf random speedrun routes
Why waste dev time doing this? People interested in breaking the game are still capable of breaking the game, normal players barely care about this shit. Who are they trying to please?

RIP Hoarfrost stomp that shit was so funny
I used it after my first playthrough to get the platinum because I'm a console chud so I beat the game with HFS twice in 1 night for the endings

My original build was a Str/Fth build using Lion's Claw+GV+Electrify armament on a Giant Crusher. It worked amazingly well for nearly every boss but since Malenia gets so much hyperarmor, instant recovery and the ability to cancel animations I was constantly losing my rhythm. Especially when I would stance break her, but due to my recovery it was impossible for me to reach her weak point before she recovered. Buffering was also an issue.

What I used to beat her was respeccing into an end/mind build with the greatstars that I then applied bloodflame to. I could reliably get her down to phase 2 with no issue after that but it took a while, and the second phase was tedious to learn and more dangerous since I didn't have as much time to recover stamina. So I summoned a mimic tear for distraction and bled that b***h to death. Looking back I kinda regret using a mimic tear and not a weaker summon, since I feel it kinda taints my victory despite the summon doing frick all in my last attempt besides holding her attention for five seconds twice during the fight. I also wish I knew about the bloodboil aromatic, if I had I wouldn't have summoned since I would have enough stamina.

I want to do a STR/INT build that uses a brickhammer with frost enchant for the DLC but have never done STR/INT, any tips or must-haves?

Lion's claw is a very good ash of war for any large weapon and should fit on your build.

I never go past RL125 and still make builds that do 600+ a hit. Really not interested in socialising with people who can't make a good build under limitations. Also probably isn't good with the character creator at all so they end up making some moronic face and a name like "Shiggykekmogkino"

Elden Ring is the purest form of starting from nothing and becoming a Godkilling legend. It's the ultimate power fantasy game.
I WILL use broken weapons, spells, and ashes of war.
I WILL summon my mimic tear.
I WILL buffstack to kill enemies in the blink of an eye.
Bosses tremble when they see me walk through their fog gate.

    Neither:
    >uber-chad offliner
    >fights all bosses with Black Knife Tiche by his side
    >only needs a bleed katana to win
    >never blocks, only rolls
    >will cheese whenever possible
    >explored everything, collected every weapon, found every secret, advanced every story line... it only took 7 playthroughs and tons of guide reading to achieve
    >ready for DLC
