I'd like to see actual ball-and-chain flails like the ones the bellkepper-clones use or the man-serpents from DaS3. I was really disappointed when ER finally introduced "flails" and they ended up just being the exact same thing as clubs but shittier.

Fromsoft is way too fricking lazy to add 6 new ones when Elden Ring itself only added what... Flails and Heavy Thrusting Swords? This is probably placeholder shit that will never see the light of day, but I want crossbow or some sort of primitive firearm

Knowing that we'll be getting new weapons is hardly ruining anything, on the contrary, it boosts our lil' dopamine craving heads with wonder.
This has been a complaint of mine going back to DaS2. You actively get penalized for trying to go all-in on casting because the "cycle through all your spells with a single button and only have one usable at a time" mechanic means it becomes exponentially more cumbersome to use magic when you have more magic equipped. Counterintuitively you're encouraged to stick to like 2-3 spells because it's a lot harder to juggle 5-10.
The most annoying part about this is that ER already kinda added a system that would've somewhat fixed things. They introduced ashes of war. Why the FRICK didn't they just use the ashes of war system to allow you to hotkey slot 1/2/3/etc spells to your catalyst so that it can always be used without needing to manually swap back to it first?
Instead we have ZERO ashes of war available for seals, and the one (1) ash of war for catalysts is a fricking useless joke.
Instead of that bullshit we should've just had a magic analogue of the AoW system. At a bonfire you can choose to "infuse" your staff/seal with attunement slot 1, attunement slot 2, etc etc etc.
Like imagine being able to cycle through your incantations but still being able to pop Catch Flame at with L2/R2 at any moment without needing to cycle back to it first just for that.

It's actually really powerful though, it stacks Bleed and Frosts like crazy.

I really doubt they are adding new weapon categories, but I hope they add weapon/catalyst hybrids and more paired weapons.
Maybe a bo-staff style weapon class with a twinblade-like moveset, only more thrusts and pushes.
