Elden Ring Replay value

Its 3 weeks until the expansion drops and i have yet to start my second playthrough.
I replayed DS1 4 time, DS3 5 times and BB 3 times and Sekiro 2 times
Yet i can't find any motivation to replay Elden Ring why is that? I think its because the world is too big and its tedious to replay it and open all the map, its tedious to light all the graces for better and easier traversal between the areas and im too lazy to do it.

I like this game but one playthrough of it and i was satisfied i never felt like that in the older games.

Any tips to restore my motivation? I tried most builds during pvp so its not a build issue

trying a build for pvp is not the same as playing it in pve

same, beat it once and once with 3 friends and the seamless mod. imma play the dlc in like half a year when it gets a discount, no motivation at all atm

Motivation? Why? Just go at your own pace. Don't force yourself. If you don't wanna play, don't. Don't play something just because everyone else is or a DLC is coming out. It won't go anywhere.

I wanna play it for sure, its just like i hope i can finish it before the expansion drops, i will easily boss rush the game but the in between areas like caves and all that are going to be super tedious, you need them to make traversal easier and to open up the map, you also need them to have loot and shops and all those upgrade materials, so i feel like i will do a second playthrough but im going to skip a lot of stuff because the first one i 100% the game and it has been 2 years and im finding it hard to do the 100% another time.
I regret going for 100% on my first playthrough, i should've played blind and waited to 100% on the second one. baka

Hours count is irrelevant you dummy, i have 680 hours in DS3 and 70% of them are because of PVP lol
I also have 320 hours in Elden Ring but replaying the whole game again is a seriously tedious task for me. the side content is just not that exciting.

Stop roaming the world. Just use the interactive map, to find the bell-bearings and cookbooks you need. And focus on beating shardbearers. Basically ignore the peninsula. Kill Godrick, and Radahn, then make your way to Mohg.

    What replay value
I've made 3 honest attempts at a second playthrough and flaked off every single one
One was Str/Int with a heavy focus on FP, I just Carian Phalanx everything to break posture and riposte
Another was tanky with a knife, daggers can't hit the huge enemies in this game so it just wasn't as fun to play
Another was a Quality build with lots of FP to do Ashes of War but nothing really felt fun
Started a modded playthrough in Convergeance, with a necromancer with a zweihander, lance, and the mohg great rapier I forget the name of

The enemies are just too boring to respect and nothing is fun

I remember i made a backup save when i finished it in 2022 then i went to NG+ kept everything as it is level 130 and finished the game on NG+ just boss rush mode, meaning i skipping everything and went straight for the big and important bosses, it was a test of my skill, once i finished it i reloaded my backup save and turned it off for months, then i started to play PVP for few months and then i uninstalled it.
I have been trying to get back into it for 2 months now but im failing and instead im firing up a new game or watching a new tv show lol

A bigger/longer game requires a longer wait time until you replay it again. I've been wanting to do a second playthrough for a good while now but I've deliberately been waiting until after the dlc releases to do that.

I can't say. I played all the souls games replayed DeS, DS1, DS2, Sekiro and ER. Did not replay the Niohs and DS3. Can't say what the problem id here.

ER is very short on replays, especially NG+. If you did everything or close to it you don't have to do it again unless you want to dual wield some unique weapon. You can just rush the remembrance bosses and the few non-remembrance bosses that are required to unlock them.

Yeah i did that once but i want to open the map for the expansion and i want all my shops to be ready and all my quests completed, this is a tedious task.
Not complaining about the game quality, its great, i just find its replay value inferior to the previous Soulsborne games

The DLC is a separate zone entirely. There will be very little overlap between the base game and SotE. Aside from Mohg and Radahn having to be dead, there might also be an alternate Malenia intro.

Any way to open the map quickly? some sites of grace are obnoxiously hidden at lower areas and because of fall damage and terrible traversal i need to circle around mountains to reach them, if this was like Zelda it would be no problemo.
I guess my best bet is to use interactive map and grind it in my free days.

What do you mean by opening the map? You can run past every enemy and hit the graces you want. You don't need to do every tomb, dungeon, catacomb, npc quest and hit up every merchant on your repeat runs.

              Anonymous

I know but some sites of grace are too far and i would like to open them, like in the Volcano area for example its tedious to unlock them again, you are right i dont need them but i have OCD i need to refill the map or else its going to bug me.
I dont want to fail quests, some quests fail if you kill certain bosses, you have to pay attention to the progression, i feel all of this is going to be annoying, but i also feel i have to do it before the expansion drops.

sure never said it was, im asking for tips to motivate me into replaying it and having the same fun again.
for example my most fun playthrough in DS3 was my third run when i was using demon scar with pyromancy and dark build, i also used some faith spells to mix up my play style, this was my favorite run by far, compared to that my first run of DS3 was a lame ass quality build with dark sword where i spam r1 and dodge and use shield, night and day difference.
i think its because i 100% at first run instead of making a blind run first. should've done that and its also a big ass game so replay value is lower, you can rush ds3 levels faster.

Have you done it before? If so, shouldn't that sate your OCD? Pick your weapon/build and plan accordingly. Go to the required dungeon/cave etc. to get started and then start running around everywhere. Avoid all the bosses.

how do u people replay games like these, they are all about exploration and discovery.
refighting bosses in sekiro was super fun tho, the harder versions are great. elden ring needs this.

if you replay the game, you also refight enemies

cool, but I'm asking OP, who uses the image of a shitposter trying to trash Fromsoftware games here, to prove his claim about replaying several times Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3, Sekiro and whatever.

I 100%'d it at release and just plan to use that save. Not sure why you need to replay? If I want to play through again after the expansion Ill just go ng+. Also respec is available before ng+ if you want to play a different build, this post makes no sense. If you want challenge in ng+ just trigger respec refund and dump extraneous souls.

Because based on my old time experience with Fromsoft games, their expansions are better if you play them on NG+
I'm sure if i play it on NG it will be a cakewalk, tried that once wasn't that fun. since then i make sure to play them on ng+

Same thing, just activate ng+ and rush to expansion if you want

SotE does have the new difficulty system. Its likely levels and NG+ number won't matter.

          Anonymous

Problem is they never confirmed it so i can't know, and if its not true then im stuck with a new empty map of ng+ when it releases and this makes it annoying you have to open up the map and refill the shops with all upgrades or else you will need to pause the dlc run and go look for items in the open world which kills the pacing. idk

Meanwhile I am super excited to replay the game and am only holding off because if I start too early I'll just beat the entire game before the DLC. I've wanted to replay for a while since I didn't even do everything my first playthrough (missing a decent amount of boss achievements, I don't even know where these frickers are) and am looking forward to trying a new build.

Replay it with the map engine
i did it and focused on specific things instead of wasting time
ignored shitty dungeons with nothing useful
