All we know is it'll have some kind of scaling or something like that, but you can toggle it off and be overpowered if you're a b***h boy.

there was nothing about toggling it off but miyazaki did say that players dont have to use the system if they dont want to

            >but miyazaki did say that players dont have to use the system if they dont want to
Okay, I can see this happening, and if THAT'S the case, then it means the OPPOSITE. It's not like you can turn off the DLC scaling, if you want an easy time with it. I think what that meant, is that you can OPT OUT of making yourself stronger in the DLC, like a challenge run.
Basically like collecting beads and memories in Sekiro, and then just deciding not to use them at the idol to upgrade your stats.

      cute worm

We don't know any details yet.
All we know is that we will have a seperate way of upgrading our character. We don't know if this affects our HP/DMG or boss HP/DMG or whatever. I too am highly sceptical but we'll see. I think it's a result of ER's bloat in numbers. Late game both enemy HP and damage is just absurdly high so instead of just further inflating it for the DLC, they needed a parallel upgrade system.

All we know is it'll have some kind of scaling or something like that, but you can toggle it off and be overpowered if you're a b***h boy.

Unless they make the mobs in the DLC to only take damage from a new damage type that can only exists on only DLC weapons/spells, which only takes upgrading materials exclusive to the DLC, I don't see how they can "equalize the playing field" by any type of scaling.
If they're referring to a harsher version of multiplayer scaling then I don't think it will help at all against high level characters stacking 5 buffs to shit on bosses or use 3 types of spells to deal with legacy dungeons.
Even still, higher level characters will have more HP, FP and stamina to work with at least, and can use spells to heal themselves which is more efficient than Flask healing.

        sage

they guy you're replying to mentioned a way they could equalize damage in his first sentence.

          Anonymous

Well duh, I'm trying to suggest a sekiro style leveling equivalent in my first sentence. What do you think the guy is suggesting? Re-introduce health and damage stat and bans you from using any and all spell/weapon from the base game? They might as well make a new game at that point.

You can get to Mogh's place early with Varre's quest, farm inifinte runes, track firsts bearings for upgrades and stomp on 2/3 content easily.

Btw to enter DLC you need to kill Mogh AND Radahn.

Once you're there it's trivial to gear up. At worst you're looking at a few hours to be strong enough to beat him and Radahn. A far cry from 80% of the game.

          >shitty gear
You can get a Lvl 10 somber weapon at that point. Somberstones 1-6 are just lying around.
For 7 you need to beat either Radahn or Godskin noble.
8-9 are not even a minute apart from each other in Dragonbarrow, a place you can warp to from limgrave.
10 is in the Dynasty Mausoleum midpoint.

With a +10 weapon you can easily farm the albinaurics or just use the offloading exploit a few times if you're that lazy. And just progress Yura's questline to get Eleonora to invade you for the magick tear.
I currently have 2 characters sitting there who did exactly that, beat the minimum amount of bosses, one is using the Fallinstar Beast Jaw and the other the Dragon Halberd and both are level 55 and 58. Mohg is super doable with a +10 weapon at that level. No cakewalk but I'd rather fight Mohg on level 50 that Malenia on level 200.

Radahn is holding back the stars (the sun is a star) Ranni's fate is held IN the stars, because stars relate to magic ergo the starting class ASTROLOGER for int magic, freeing FATE also effects Miquella somehow, the DLC is all about Miquella, which is why you have to kill Radahn AND mohg. the dlc entrance IS the egg, read the fricking interviews.

      >you literally can't get to Mohg if you don't kill Radann since you can't get to Leyndell without killing him
      1. You can get to Mohg by doing Varre's quest in Liurnia.
      2. You can go to Leyndell without killing Radahn. He doesn't actually block anything in the game except one small part of Nokron.

You're not supposed to do that, it's not official
        >2. You can go to Leyndell without killing Radahn.

    >spend literally hundreds of hours farming every single item, gesture, spell etc. in the game in preparation for the DLC
    >get so burnt out that I no longer have interest in ER
    RIP
I should’ve went with the bare minimum of equipment and use whatever I find in the DLC
