It's a shame because Hopes set up a ton of potential in the earlier chapters with the much needed extra lore on the surrounding countries (and Jeritza speedrunning White Clouds never gets old). It just totally shat the bed after the timeskip, on all three routes no less.

I would say the world building and some characters are really good, but the actual plot is really mediocre.
Engage is why I won't be buying Fire Emblem games on release day anymore. The game got censored a lot and honestly it's just not good. I feel like I wasted my money on it.
It actually straight up stunned me that Three Houses did not have the weapon triangle. It's legitimately not a tactics game.
3H has the weapon triangle, it's just tied to trained weapon skills.

the two statements are separate. It's not a tactics game because they removed the main strategy consideration. It would be like if XCOM removed accuracy and every shot had a 100% chance to hit and the only change was how much damage you did.
Three hopes has no romance in it though, hell engage technically has more life sim elements in it.
