Expected behavior, Bethesda game, some bugs are ok, it's fine when they do it

>it's fine when they do it.
And it with this buyer's mindset that we continue to get the same glitches, same shitty style of storytelling, and the same architecture every fuckin time!!
On a slightly x2 modified engine since SKYRIM!!!

Starfields storytelling is infinitely better than fo4, we can just ignore 76, and I'd say it's far better than skyrims as well

>This response is an equivalency of saying "the shit I just took just now, was better than a diarrhea I had yesterday.."
Instead of fallout 4.
We got fallout 4..IN SPPAAAAACE
Feel free to compare it to games with as much scale as this one, though. You guys love to bring up NMS, how does that one compare? And mind you, the planets in this one have cycles (Storms, day and night, radiation, etc)
Not white or male but this game is crack to me
Also the first time I'm using controller to play a Bethesda game which is honestly not bad. Not sure why I've been such a snob towards the idea but It Just Works.
>A world devoid of threats, passion and adventure. Just empty spaces that don't test your courage or strength, just walk around and look at things and do it on repeat because "muh marvel multiverse storyline dood!"
You're right, it is the quintessential game for the modern white man
Why are people so excited by this? What's the point of a vast landscape if there is fuckall to do in it? What can you do down there? Look at trees and rocks?
Just because someone doesn't like what you do doesn't mean they are a mouthbreathing gatcha player you esl gay. I was asking because I don't see anything there besides trees and rocks, and I am trying to figure what you actually do in the game there
I love going on hikes. Why the fuck would I prefer to do it in a soulless, procedurally generated, lifeless virtual world when I can literally go outside and witness true, natural beauty? This isn’t why you play video games, or watch film, or read literature. The “death of the art form” meme that gets thrown around here every now and then comes to mind. If you’re just gonna ape the more mundane, easily accessible parts of reality, you’ve made a boring fucking game.
You know what I mean. None of the discoveries you make matter because they're all just randomly generated and stop existing the second you leave the zone. In other Bethesda games locations had permanence and the worlds felt like actual places, but if you start randomly generating everything then that feeling just vanishes.
In all seriousness though the criticisms are right, but it doesn't matter because I'm having a lot of fun. Yeah in some ways it's a step down from other bethesda games, specifically exploration. However, in many cases its the opposite. Gunplay, questing, setting, etc are alp so much better and exploration isn't all that worse honestly, it mostly just has a different type of exploration, primarily that exploration has to be intentional and have a purpose or goal in mind. Whereas in skyrim you can just wander around walking aimlessly and be rewarded with cool things, in this game that's not the case. You will have a bad doing the same thing (which is unfortunate mind you). But if you approach a planet with some type of goal in mind, whether it's for a quest, or mining, or surveying/scanning, or some other thing, you will have a beeter experience. The pros imo outweigh the cons significantly. I swear this board has no concept of nuance in opinion
>in skyrim you can just wander around walking aimlessly and be rewarded with cool things
Like what exactly? Same 3 dungeon layouts filled with draugr? I mean it's atmospheric but I never got why people worship that game. F4 has much much better exploration
There's nothing wrong with it though. It would take like hundreds of hours just to survey all the plants alone. Then you add in all the random things that spawns in and the hand crafted pieces. There's literally too much if anything
No, you're right that there isnt really anything fundamentally wrong with exploration, all I'm saying is that if you approach it the same way as their previous games you won't really have fun and you will start seeing flaws (too big and empty and no vehicle/mount to compensate). Thats why you need to have tosome purpose when exploring, whether it's to do a mission board bounty on a planet, r something else
i never played any bethesda game
i remember as a kid i wanted to try morrowind but never did
i currently have skyrim on my steam wishlist but there's always something else i want to play more
but starfield in all the screenshots and footage i've seen just looks kinda bland, doesn't appeal t me at all
i'll try to give skyrim a go sometime though
nah it's true
i was like 7 or 8 when it came out, i was playing warcraft 3, diablo 2, rayman 3, beyond good and evil and prince of persia around that time that pc was barely keeping up with
i held the morrowind physical box in a store multiple times but i had so many games already
later i got sucked into wow and didn't play anything else for years before eventually quitting for good
i even remember i was buying some gaming magazine that reviewed it very highly which is what made me interested
also i'm from eastern europe, it wasn't niche where i'm from
morrowing, gothic / gothic 2 and baldur's gate were talked about a lot among my friends who were into fantasy & rpgs at school
bro i even played myst series around that time, that was niche, not fucking tes
NTA but I found out about Morrowind from Toonami when they would occasionally do game reviews. I was in elementary school and probably watching DBZ. I remember it crystal clear and wanted to play but I had PS2 and not xbox, and my dad wouldn't let use the computer. after we bricked it somehow I didn't play Morrowind seriously until 2020. It's kino but I'm sad I missed out on it at the time.
>flat health restoration >not heath regen over time >not incrasing satiety level
Thank you for remindng me in ONE picture why the game is shit. Same shlock as Skyrim (and Fallout 4 and Oblivion and Fallout 3). Whatever the graphics are, they are tertiary to gameplay, and gameplay obviously sucks ass in Starfield.
Just ONE image to remind me - all it took.
The game is VERY long and part of its narrative goes onto NG+ and further. If you don't care about that play it whenever, if you want to have it all done by the time the DLCs hit then pirate it now and be ready.
Space feels like it's just a gimmick, because outside a handful of space fights it's just a shitty quick travel.
Combat is looter shooter without any rewarding feeling gun play.
But, it's still decent enough, and not offensive.
It's been more fun than the other stuff I played this year
I haven't played bg3, but I did play re4r, totk, ffxvi, soul hackers 2 (lol), ac6, and fe engage
Not sure what masterpieces you think came out this year exactly but most of what I listed left me pretty disappointed, especially ac6 and ffxvi
I got 700 hours in skyrim and never finished the story once so I don't really care if the story is good or not. Does Starfield still work as a space setting shooter? Is melee doable and fun?
>and i see no aliens.
Only exist on habitable planets as basically wildlife.
Unless there is some advanced species later you find I don't think it goes beyond animals.
Melee is worse than FO4, real lack of weapons and unique shit.
https://i.imgur.com/pLenNWb.png
Enjoying Starfield?
I would be if they removed half the loading screens and redesigned quests better. Too much running around for one task, then run back to the giver. Like holy shit its 300 years into the future I can't call this bitch on a phone and take a picture of completing a task?
starfield has NOTHING besides human enemies
NOTHING
no aliens
no callbacks to fallouts aliens
no easter eggs to TES
NOTHING
no planets controlled by aliens or something fun
What about all the aliens you encounter and have to fight? What about terrormorphs?
bro I know you didn't play the game but shit at least read something before you shitpost
The game could really use this kind of attack. They have robots - just have suicide drones that charge you while a beeping sound freaks you the fuck out.
>Ghouls rushing and dodging towards you >Suicide supers >Heavy weapons supers >Melee supers >Rifle supers >Tanky crabs >Every assortment of raider >Floating robots >Fast flying creatures >Nukes
And Starfield has dinosaurs. Which is much cooler than ghouls and whatever else the shit you're trying to fluff to make it seem Fallout 4 has enemies worth talking about.
In reality it's just bandits and the uh, were the good guys all along!
Ghouls were fucking awesome, probably the best enemy type in Fallout. The Super Duper mart was a good example. They come crawling through the windows, busting through doors, vents and other shit. Then they basing after you, sometimes silently. They die easily though as a balancing act but can you pretty hard. Another bonus is there is dismemberment . It’s pretty cool to shoot a ghouls leg off of one.
Fix the barebones and horrible ship battles
Add bikes/vehicles for exploration
Remove your entire perk tree and add implants/gene altering instead
have a nice day and never make another game again
>Go Stealth Archer™ >Can 1 shot level 50 legendaries at 38 on Very Hard because I also have all weapon mods and my Lawbringer is 342 base damage
I need to mod up the legendary spawn chance so I can get a legendary sniper rifle too. I've only gotten pistols
Ok so after a recent PCGamer article, many reviews and a new mod all talking about "having to watch the ship take off and land animation hundreds of times" I want to just make sure everyone I come across knows this
You all are aware you can faster travel from planet to planet from anywhere on the surface directly, right? A LOT of people seem to not understand this and are returning to their ship for every planet hop.
Why exactly is there so much seething around this game? Is it just the prefect combination of snoys having literally nothing to play and the anti-bethesda pebbitors who endlessly rewatch internet historians fall of 76 video?
It's a pretty good game, it's certainly not offensively bad at the very least, and I really can't understand getting genuinely mad about people enjoying it
The quests have all been really good
The gun designs are very appealing
The skill system is cool and forces you to actually focus (can't be Jack of all trades)
Ship building is great
Exploration and charting planets is fun
>You don't think they're good points? >Yea well I disagree
Ok
Except my opinion isn't coming from a retard, so I'm automatically right and you're wrong.
>The quests have all been really good
Main quest is aids and a majority of side quests is KILL LOOT RETURN >Exploration and charting planets is fun
Just like pulling teeth.
>The quests have all been really good
The quests are slop with no variety or flavour, it's all as boring as the setting, a generic space game with fuck all in terms of branding hooks or otherwise. You're praising shit, retard. >The gun designs are very appealing
If you like generic weapons, sure. It's like fallout without any of the interesting aspects. >The skill system is cool and forces you to actually focus (can't be Jack of all trades)
The skill system is standard beth slop, but manages to be somehow worse than both Skyrim and Fallout 4, as well as having less depth or variety than either. Stop lying. >Ship building is great
Admittedly this is the only real USP this game has. >Exploration and charting planets is fun
Yeah, sure do love exploring proc gen slop in 5km chunks being forced to walk in a straight line for 5 minutes so you can enter a cave and find five credits and a pack of cigarettes. Fun is a useless term, it's a personal endorsement, the only thing you just did is inform everyone in this thread that your standards for quality are in the gutter. You may as well start eating shit, because that might be "fun" too right?
Fuck off, pleb. Fuck you for giving todd money for the worst Bethesda game in existence.
poorfags on pc flooding it with negative review refunds because they can't run the game on 4k ultra with their 900 series gpu
also im pretty sure this is bethesdas first game that zoomers are getting exposed to, an audience which will hatetrain anything their local e-celeb criticizes.
Yeah I don't get it either, it's a bethesda ass bethesda game. Wide as an ocean, shallow as a puddle, but hot damn you can just immerse yourself in their worlds.
It has a pretty rough beginning, and since almost all press and streamer gameplay is the beginning everyone judges it entirely by that.
Anyone who puts time in and sees how much more there is to it is then met with 'HUR DUR IT GETS GOOD AT 9000 HOURS' mockery
It is. The problem is it does ray tracing in software so your proprietary RTX shit is useless. This is then compounded by the lack of Vram and gimped bus you have. So you turn on dlss. After all, "It's better than native!™", right? R-right? Nope. Now any straight line is suddenly a strobe light and the screen is covered in a thin layer of what looks like clinical vaseline. So you seethe and hate and blame everybody but yourself : the turkey who fell for the scam.
It's the perfect storm >BG3/ToTK fags hate it because it is a possible GOTY pick >Snoys >anti-chuders, because it is the same franchise as New Vegas and has blacks and pronouns
etc
>watered down ass "chosen one" main questline, shit sucks and you strive to ignore it >every procedurally generated planet is devoid of anything meaningful to do and has very little to even see >NPCs look like shit >writing sucks hard dick for 70% of the game and is semi-interesting for 30% of the game, but is shallow and relatively brief throughout all of the game >most locations have inconsequential dialogue and no real quests, for those that have quests, they are fetch quests, perhaps with some combat >instanced load zones >lacks all soul >ship building and flight is cool and a redeemable part of the game >shooting is fun, an improvement on F4s basic mechanics >quests have no real variation in how you complete them, two different paths wind up at the same place >skills barely matter or are used for anything meaningful >speech checks suck and are nerfed in your favor always >stealth sucks and you can be kneeling in front of someone and remain undetected >overall worldbuilding is shallow as shit and you might read some shit in books or terminals that fills in gaps but through straight dialogue and generic settings you will not divine much about the world's internal logic and thus not feel very immersed >boring as fuck unless you're doing the main curated content >most satisfying loops rely on gimmicky shit like epic space battlez!!! or epic explosive combat!!! and not on worldbuilding or plot/dialogue depth >shallow ethical dilemmas where they even exist
What I like with the main storyline in Starfield is that they finally managed to not make it an urgency like "OH SHIT OH SHIT ALDUIN IS GONNA DESTROY THE WORLD YOU HAVE TO KILL IT QUICK" while your character will be doing the dark brotherhood and other quests taking months ingame
You are very much the chosen one in Starfield, but there is no immediate and immersion breaking urgency, the goal is to find and investigate those weird artifacts and temples and ghost bros attacking you
The only game where I felt like you were supposed to rush the main quest was actually Oblivion, because of all the Oblivion Gates scattered throughout the entire map. Even in Skyrim, roleplaying the distance between Holds as they're supposed to be in lore -that is to say, you wouldn't willy nilly travel back and forth because it'd be a several days travel- gives you a lot of freedom if you make leveling up part of the immersion >just escaped Helgen, in Riverwood >need to get equipment to surive and not be mistaken as someone in either part of the civil war conflict, do odd jobs and ends in the village >get to Whiterun, sell some stuff and start to plan what you'll do now that you're free from prison >inform the Jarl as a favor why not >"hey the Jarl asked me to go to this one dungeon, surely I'll do this and my new life in Skyrim free from dragons will begin!" >one thing leads to the other, you're now Dragonborn >you're low level, shittily equipped and you've just been asked to go climb a mountain one Hold over >roleplay you preparing for the journey and getting stronger why doing a shitload of quests in the area, bounties, join Companions >finally get to the Throat of the World then back to get the Horn, do all dungeons on the way then likewise when you get to Delphine and on your way to Solitude to infiltrate the Embassy >rescuing Esbern opens the door to Riften and staying a while to getting to know the surroundings and local politics, reaching Sky Haven Temple does the same for the Forsworn area >needing the Elder Scroll puts you in contact with the College, leading to easy roleplay reasons for joining it to get stronger and gain more knowledge about dragons >after defeating Alduin at the Throat of the World you can roleplay that he's "off to lick his wounds" for a bit and do some downtime exploration
So on and so forth, leaving both DLCs as post-game epilogues as they're kinda supposed to be as per release date and Miraak reacting to Alduin's death
>Oblivion
You rush the main quest to the point where you need to get daedric artefact. Then you actually do a lot of exploration to get as many as you can (but here oblivion's level-scaling comes into play and trashed to shit all the would-be exploration because most quests have a fucking arbitrary level requirement even if reward is not justifying said requirement), but in reality you either do the exploit at low level, sacrifice Azura's Star (why would you do that), or more sensibly just get Wabbajack and sacrifice it because its actually trash unlike in Skyrim. Then you are free to rush MQ, because whatever the reward is for it - its shit. The only reason to delay MQ and explore are oblivion gates and sigil stones, because Todd got traumatised by Morrowind's gameplay, and so you cannot enchant yourself anything good for shit (unless you use mods), and sigil stones of any level (especially 1) are the best thing you can get in terms of loot (ESPECIALLY at lvl 1-3).
I played vanilla Oblivion recently, and am right now playing Skyrim. They are dismal because no matter the pretty picture or "atmosphere", gameplay (and im not talking about swinging weapons, though there is that too) is so bloody bad.
Yeah I never understood the love for Oblivion, I fucking hated all the changes to level scaling and enchanting, plus removing levitation was Todds greatest crime, worse than Starfield. Morrowind is the only game I've played where it felt like you truly work your way up to god tier archmage with magic, having a gear enchanted for perma-flight and huge nukes, mark and recall, and that's before using even a drop of magicka.
Morrowind buck-broke Todd. He consistently keeps making games that stay further from RPG and into some shitty version of Redguard except with open world and some rpg elements. He could have just copied Dark Messiah, but nope. Also, levitation is not in Oblivion (much like a lot of things) because it can be easily exploited by player, and mostly because consoles could not handle open cities - so they made cities separate cells. Cant have levitation to expose all that horrible LOD for distant objects (especially in oblivion wastes). Same-ish reason why its not in Skyrim, plus because they would really not know how to deal with it gameplay wise. >oblivion >enchanting is shit and you need sigil stones to make anything decent >4 potion limit because alchemy was broken as fuck in morrowind (only if you had no self-control) >on the plus side you can make potions out of single ingredients >on the very minus side you cannot discover alchemical effects through experimentation and need to level alchemy >leveled loot tables so good luck because there are very very few handplaced items that make sense or are worth shit >level-scaling >completely crippled to fuck player power (damage increases from stats trashed to shit, stats/skills dont increase anything after 100 - few exceptions though like acrobatics and carry weight from strength) >spellcasting will deplete the shit out of your mana so chug pots or use up welkynd stones non-stop >forced to use exploits (drain health 100pts at lvl 1-3, spell stacking, 100% chameleon), conjuration+illusion to get minions fighting for you, or just plain avoid combat >some interesting loot though (like Mundane ring, ring of iron fists, necklace of swords/axes, spelldrinker amulet, some uniquely enchanted gear too) - but all of it just goes to make you invulnerable to the slogfest that is combat
Seriously, Oblivion's gameplay is so bad.
And Skyrim is not better either - same level of bad in a different way. Guess SF is no different.

They could have at least given us a capped height version of levitation though, just enough to be out of melee range and float over hazards. They don't seem to understand that having out of the way methods where people can "break" the game is perfectly fine as long as its immersive and fun. Skyrim's only really better than oblivion due to the graphics, melee combat and superior mods imo.

Eh... Graphics, non-potato faces (but they are fucking expresionless/emotionless), yeah - sure Skyrim has that edge over Oblivion. Mods? Debatable because skyrim has an updated engine, ergo more functionality, and thus has unfair advantage in terms of modding. Does it have more and better mods than Oblivion, sure, but when judging the game, you never roll mods into account - you judge it as it is.
As for combat - no, Oblivion's is better. Much much better than Skyrim's. Unless you are playing Oblivion in 3rd person (which begs me to ask why would you play the game in vanity mode because 3rd person is vanity mode in oblivion), because 3rd person camera in Ob is a follow-type and its very very wonky to play with it.

The only thing i do to break Morrowind early game is get the boots of blinding speed and make a resistance spell and cheese it until it works so I can go fast. I don’t start breaking the game until the DLC.
>because Todd got traumatised by Morrowind's gameplay.
Thank god because Morrowinds gameplay is far and away the worst in the series barring Arena, even enchanting and Spell Crafting don't save it at all, the only thing that comes close to saving it is exploring with the levitation spell combined with boots of blinding speed.
Breaking the game and clicking nuke gets real boring after awhile and Morrowind is one of the best examples of that. If you don't even want to put in the effort to do alchemy, enchanting, or spellmaking you can get the same effect by putting the game on max easy mode and that's the experience of the game with all those
>complete alternating currernts >shopkeep npc doesnt even say anything just continues their generic dialogue when interacted with >Other Npc just becomes generic named npc who says they have 3 jobs on the backburner and no one to help
>Start game >Customize character immediately >Pick backstory >Customize wife/husband >You get a snarky but lovable daughter who looks like both of you as a companion.
This game could've been kino. They have absolutely no soul.
Why are spacers/ecliptic/crimson fleet basically all the same fucking thing? I've had moments where I've entered a dungeon filled with one of them and my companion starts referring to them as one of the other two, even the game can't tell the difference.
You'll probably get like 30 in cities, 45 on planets, and 60 in interiors. I recommend the settings here and download the DLSS mod for better graphics.
Thanks

>BREAKING: 10 year old midrange processor no longer top-tier for present day PC building, more at 11.
Given the way Ganker acts most of the time that is indeed shocking news.
You'll probably get like 30 in cities, 45 on planets, and 60 in interiors. I recommend the settings here and download the DLSS mod for better graphics.
>Cybershit 2077 unironically looks better and runs better than starfield.
As does four year old RDR2, Denuvo hampered Hogwart's Legacy and even the fucking Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Todd has literally no excuse for this shit.
Yes considerably
Better quests, actual multiple ways of completing quests, better gunplay, better story
Although I think fo4s companions are more memorable
same type of shit, maybe worse >Builds are even less distinct, perks are skyrim tier % increase >the enemy variety is a step back, 90% of the time it's just human with gun, but some of them have several layers of sponge instead of one >NPC faces are a step back, despite some new tech they scanned aboriginals into the game so you have to bend over backwards not to make a monster >guns are even more idiotic, but there is a more complex magic weapon (legendary) system >the main quest is even more of a railroad, sarcastic is back with a vengeance >you have to fast travel everywhere which breaks up the gameplay too much, and there is no survival since you can just teleport away >more in depth disease/wound system, but again just teleport to a clinic >new mechanics which don't add much (like ships) but they removed others like local maps (lol), beds you can rent, NPCs are up 24/7, no power armor, no legs/arms/chest armor, no rads, no scavenging for trash and breaking it down, no stimpack animation, drugs are worse, food is pointless +5 health >fallout has a consistent theme, this game struggles to feel like a space game which is in part due to the bland OST
But mods aren't our yet, so it's not even close - F4 is the better experience
>Builds are even less distinct
Stopped reading there
You can't even lockpick, sneak, or boost without taking skills. You really can't go fo4 jack of all trades mode, you need to pick 1 or 2 categories and focus or else you will be lvl 50 with a bunch of tier 1 and 2 skills
>4 tiers lockpick >4 tiers sneak >4 tiers boost pack >4 tiers weight lifting
That's already level 16 if you are actually going to grab all the "essentials"
With the addition of space and ship stuff on top of that you arguably need piloting, targeting systems, etc so you really do need to focus alot more than fo4
Also having advancement tied to challenges is infinitely better than having them level gated
>removed others like local maps
Not too torn up about this. Local map has progressively been getting noisier and worse since Oblivion. It's utterly fucking incomprehensible in Fallout 4.
So modkit is not out yet? I guess they are pulling Skyrim and Fallout 4 on this - half a year to wait until modders can start fixing it, unless someone hacks up TESEdit to work with SF.
And yeah, what you typed sounds horrible.
nah
fallout 4 has a more interesting world and you can actually walk around it and find cool shit everywhere
post apocalyptic is way more interesting than boring human-only empty space
am i a bitch for playing on easy? i just wanna enjoy the game...upping the difficulty only turns enemies into bullet sponges, it's not like first person shooter combat is hard or anything.
except it makes sense when they do it. enemies/bosses have movesets that can be dodged, parried and blocked. what can you do in an fps? take cover? it makes no sense for enemies in these types of games to have high health pools
I found a quest chain that lets me work with UC SysDef to infiltrate the Crimson Fleet and it made me hate this game. The fleet are written very sympathetically with grey morals and all of their members have interesting backstories and are full of personality. Meanwhile the UC SysDef contacts have like 5 lines of dialogue each and are the most boring big questline npcs in the game but if you side with the fleet everyone in Constellation hates you despite them claiming they give their members autonomy to make their own decisions and calls.
I finally got Starfield, and fuck. I thought you all were memeing or just being contrarian, but the game really does suck. Everything looks like there's some shitty haze filter applied, it has zero soul, the first mission with Vosco, he's so shit I can't even listen to what he's saying, and it's just so boring! I've got 113 minutes in, I hope Steam gives me a refund.
Replaying Skyrim is all I have thought about while playing this shit. Good Lord, what were they thinking with all these disjointed areas. it's impossible to immerse myself. it's completely different from any of their other games, in the worst possible way.
I'm enjoying it so far but I've either skipped tutorials or I'm at a complete loss.
How do I smuggle contraband? What are the best upgrades for the starting ship? I'm getting wrecked being an undercover agent of these pirates, every time I go to Jupiter there's shops waiting for me to wreck my shit and any weapons I buy are garbage.
What's the best way to level up?
The description of the deception skill says it gives you chance to pass a scan, and I think you might be able to use outposts with cargo links to smuggle them into the zone without putting them on your ship? I've been wanting to test it out but haven't gotten around to it, atm I store all my contraband in a chest on an outpost to deal with later. There's probably some intended way that's simpler than these but I haven't engaged with that side of the game much
>How do I smuggle contraband?
Put it in your ship's storage (little green terminal screen near pilot seat) and when you get to a scan you'll have a chance to get it past the scan (59% without perks or the signal jammer)
Overall, pretty mid. The last ~3 missions were kino as hell though, the silent hill lab was kinda spooky and chasing the emissary and the hunter through different timelines to beat the shit out of them was a fun final boss battle. Also neat getting to see a timeline where you die instead of one of your companions. Looped into NG+ but probably won't replay it for a few months.
it occurred to me while mars, that realistically any bases on mars wouldn't really have ladders or stairs if someone was building them for productive efficiency.
>Enjoying Starfield?
Not really. For a game about exploration, I'm feeling remarkably uncompelled to actually explore. The fact that you don't have to actually travel anywhere, that you just appear after a loading screen, takes away a lot of the engagement and "emergent gameplay" Bethesda games tend to do well.
Alien planets are pretty much all the same, I've seen the exact same model used for different aliens about three times now. Since you can't actually see where you're going before you get there, there's no sense of wondering what's over the next hill like in Fallout or Skyrim. Doesn't help that this might be the most uninteresting sci-fi setting of all time.
This game is a real step down from Bethesda's previous games in almost every respect. Except maybe the story, but after Fallout 4 anything would be an upgrade.
Todd's a fucking moron as always. Markets the game's "exploration" (fast travel) as its main selling point. The quests are the only thing that makes Starfield fun
can you still craft stuff if you put all your materials inside the infinite lockbox at the lodge? or is just the materials inside your ship that count when crafting?
What are some lore or state of the galaxy you would change to make it more interesting. I would have leaned far more into a Cold War situation with Freestar and UC
Shit, I posted my take on the wrong thread. So far my feelings on the game are the same as when i first played Fallout 4, its a good, sometimes even fun open world experience but its a mediocre rpg, even then id say Fallout 4 is superior. Like a lot of bethesda games, theres some potential here but it just ends up being frustrating because they still can't figure out depth in dialogue, quests or gameplay. The ships are a glorified fast travel tool, the on land traversal is a chore, the skills are uninspired and a lot of the weapons are lacking style or identity. Its a very 6/10 game overall, i wouldnt spend 70 dollars for it though.
Lots of people criticize some of the stupider visual aspects of fallout 4, like the tanks and other shit, but overall I'd take the look of that game and bethesdas general take on fallout over starfield any fucking day. At least it has something, starfield looks like it was shat out by an AI
I don't known if I'm going crazy but I turned my undervolt off on my 6700xt so it's at stock voltage and it seems to be running better because it's drawing more power.
Game is unironically kino if you actually enjoy space autism. People shitposting about how bad it is compared to NMS/ED probably don't actually play these games. True space autists take what they can get, and FDEV certainly dropped the ball ages ago.
The ship gameplay I'd basically ED when you drop into a POI and just dogfight. >but there's no newtonian flight model
Yeah and so are the standard flight controls for ED. >menus
About half of ED is interacting with menus in your ship and in starports.
>forced to travel by menu
Objectively false, look where you want to go then press E then R, you can travel through the entirety of a star system including landing and taking off without opening a menu *once*
>2060 and installed on hdd
im aware you are the poorest of poorfags but you could literally buy a better gpu and a big ssd for 50 bucks each. Why suffer like this
Next time try using the mining laser in combat, unlike all other weapons it won't kick you back when firing in zero G and if you first charge the shot with right click you can melt through enemies
>you've lived long enough to see people unironically state Fallout 4 has better RPG mechanics, roleplay and dialogue choices than... well any game ever really
I want off this wild ride
Not even that, you've lived long enough to see people say Fallout 4's greasy clay-like character models look better than Starfield. I think some people genuinely haven't gone back to look at a vanilla F4 screenshot in eight years.
I prefer fallout 4 crafting cause its straight to the point and most complete also i prefer scavenging juck that scanning and spending a whole battery of a mining lasor to mine a rock
Stuff like neon, argon etc right?
Of course my dumb ass didn't try that, now I gotta remember where I saw neon since need some to go rice out my guns with LAMs

Yep. Basically anything larger than the usual ore node you'll need to go right upto it and manually collect
>Right click
was it just me not paying attention or did they genuinely never explain this mechanic? i had to google "starfield why cutter can't break calvinhobbsium?" and the first result was "things starfield doesn't tell you"
yes, my enjoyment has been increasing as I get familiar with how to do things.
not having maps is one of my pet pevees in video games but im managing.
im looking for barret damn it. found out he was taken hostage but dont know where he is
>was looking forward to playing payday 3 open beta this weekend >find out they want my email if i want to play >skipped >get game pass and download starefield >uninstall after reaching the first pirate base
now i have to wait for armored core 6 to go on sale
Maybe if they added more loading screens it would be better. Maybe every time you sprint for 10 seconds you get a loading screen, that would fix the game for me
>want to join Crimson Fleet >can't massacre the UC leadership right then and there >want to kill the CF and stay with UC >can't massacre the top CF leadership
This is Dawnguard shit all over again.
I got stuck on Kryx's Legacy and got hardlocked and almost lost my entire playthrough because the quest is broken as fuck. One random quicksave from an hour ago saved my shit. I kept getting teleported into a square box with all of the dead named NPCs I'd killed so far in my playthrough (im on xbox). Broken as fuck
The game has been really bad for me the past dozen+ hours and I think that quest bugged for me too. This sarah quest I have to talk to her and she says two lines and then just walks away (the dialogue view never leaves and nothing happens). The objective before it didn't allow me to start a conversation with some girl but it corrected itself after a few hours. The game has been crashing nonstop during this time and if it doesn't crash, it gets stuck on load screens. My thought is that I've mowed down too many wild animals and it fucked up the game.
man i had some CLASSIC bethesda last night, i quick saved the game and closed and went and did other stuff, relaunched, the npc's i was supposed to talk to in the room with me had despawned. so i had to console myself the key they were gonna give me. then later in the mission one of the enemies fell through the floor and i couldn't 100% wipe them, so i had to console through the floor and finish him off
what do you do if you bought this on xbox? suffer?
Your save carries over between PC and Xbox.
You only need to buy the game once and you'll have it on both platforms.
Bethesda stopped using the Steam workshop for mods, preferring their own internal workshop system (but most of the time you'll use an external site like nexus).
Oh boy I have a lot of things to say about this game. The NASA generic sci fi aesthetic is a gamble that did not pay off, the art direction is pretty much awful, New Atlantis for example is frank soullessness. And it has the same problem that I have with Neomuna in Destiny 2 where the location that’s advertised as a city isn’t an actual city, it’s on the outskirts of a city with low rise buildings that offer nothing to be found. My biggest complaint with the game is the skill system. There’s a lot of stuff that I want/need to do but can’t because skill points are a rarest thing in this game. To make real skill progress you have to strictly focus one of the four sections, spending a point elsewhere will set you back significantly. A fix to this seems to be only requiring skill points for the badges and not the upgrades tiers within. Also most if not all the base badges should be unlocked at the start of the game. Though tbh I would just overhaul the system, it’s less comprehensive than Skyrim’s skill tree while also more difficult. Sneaking/pickpocketing is a flat out downgrade.
There’s also way too much useless clutter/items. Not being able to dismantle weapons/armor for resources/traits is incredibly disappointing. The only option is to sell, but the vendors are poor af.
While I’m at it I’m sick and tired of the carry weight system, not saying it should be removed but it’s in dire need of innovation.
All in all this game should’ve been more concise and precise. Bethesda should’ve scrapped the procedural/resource collection aspect and went all in on exploration and combat. Skyrim but in space but much bigger is what they should’ve aimed for. Lots of skills, good crafting, meaningful loot, and immense “dungeons”. Less Fallouty, though I’ve never played.
>Spend 2 hours getting fucking powers and all the tedium entailed >Get to "that" quest for the lodge or the eye >Say I need to go to the eye >Events in the lodge start anyway >Miss the eye >"oh no it's too late!" >Fuck >Go to reload save >Fucking game overrides all my saves except for one from 2 hours ago before I did any of the powers
Fuck anti savescumming bullshit
game is completely sauceless - environments range from Neon to ugly, combat feels terrible, ship combat feels like i'm reading ancient sanskrit i can't understand how to not get fucking destroyed yet im about to jump on and build a shitty little outpost. todd has done it again (until phantom liberty)
make sure youre putting power into your engines for evasive maneuvers, also abuse your thrusters to get better positioning during combat. you can turn on a dime and get the upper hand on higher level ships if you know what youre doing.
What mods are you waiting for? >Immersive Animation Franework port >some sort of ballistics/armor mod so enemy tankiness depends on what they're wearing/how they are armored rather than how much HP they have >level unscaler >more destructible clutter items >gore/dismemberment
not him, but give us some bethesda-likes then anon >mount and blade >kingdom come deliverance >kenshi?"
that's all, even then most of these games arent really good substitutes. kenshi has no content or questing for that matter, kc:d doesn't fulfill/scratch the same itch mostly because it's not sandboxy enough and combat is actually worse than skyrim. Only mount and blade is even close and the devs gave up on bannerlord
I own a Wii, a PS3 and a PS4, and I've been running a 3570k for the past 10 years because not a single game has released that warranted an upgrade, so no.
i was actually getting really distracted by running around scanning shit on that planet before i realized "wait this quest is taking longer than usual"
go back to your ship and stand still, open the scanner, turn 360 degrees and walk away in the direction the scanner starts distorting. you'll end up inside a building. what happens next is even more confusing. just fly around and press E on the fairy dust clouds until the game decides to end the flying tutorial
im playing this game shitfaced most of the time so that makes it feel like even more of a fever dream

Hows the zero g combat? Haven't come across any dungeons with no G yet but I know they showed it in the trailers. You'd think there'd be more space stations with no G.
Very fun, I think. The recoil is a big factor and the area being pretty much a 360 battleground give that extra challenge. I also wish that there was more of it.
I might try and make a proper zero G space station dungeon when CK comes out
Or at least a bunch of them for the procgen to pepper around the place.
Honestly if they wanted the hard scifi route all the stations should have been no G, why would you slap a FTL grav drive onto a station anyway, unless they're so cheap that they can just to have antigrav
You can do as many zero G combat as you want actually
When attacking a ship, make sure to destroy its grav drive, and when you board it, the ship's interior will be zero G will all their shit flying around
This can also work for your ship if your grav drive gets destroyed
And it's actually fun yes, especially with a shotgun
Oh that makes sense
I'll have to try that next time pirates NEVER SHOULD HAVE COME HERE me

>spend like 5 hours setting up outposts to funnel resources into a main base >want to transfer my ships cargo to my base when i land >there is no option to move ship cargo to base cargo >you can transfer from the base to the ship, but not the ship to the base
What the fuck were they thinking?
I was until the flaws just got too much. Like what fucking major gun store in the capital of an entire faction only has 100-200 rounds of each ammo type at a maximum? At least let me craft my own ammo Todd you fucking 3rd world brained gay.
it has some impressive interiors and despite this garbage engine and its limitation does really good job at creating good atmosphere.
it's a little bit boring for a RPG game, but im gonna keep playing since there's nothing else to play anyway.
I am, but it's an underdog game at the end of the day, that much is obvious. It may not see as much mainstream success as BG3 or Zelda, it might not even win the GOTY award, but it's my personal GOTY right now.
Between that, talking about how nothing is quite like a good English liquor, and comments on how she can't imagine people living *like this* in every non-utopian place you hit up she makes for a really great Space Karen.
I really wanted smuggling to be more involved, maybe have a little bit of depth with handling contraband, but it's just shielded cargo modules and the Trade Authority. Disappointing.
It's exactly one place that is a franchise. You deliver the contraband to the equivalent of McDonalds in every location with no variety or deviation in approach.
yes
This is what she actually looks like, pedo

jej
are you even playing the game?
how do you find time to spam your waifu 24/7 and play
ye
Holy mother of kino.
exploring has been my favorite thing to do
same bro and based for using my same armor
constellation mission board is the best part of the game
>terrain literally glitching
>that shit lightning
10 YEARS IN THE MAKING
Expected behavior, Bethesda game, some bugs are ok, it's fine when they do it
>it's fine when they do it.
And it with this buyer's mindset that we continue to get the same glitches, same shitty style of storytelling, and the same architecture every fuckin time!!
On a slightly x2 modified engine since SKYRIM!!!
Starfields storytelling is infinitely better than fo4, we can just ignore 76, and I'd say it's far better than skyrims as well
Of the things to doompost and complain about that's a retarded one to go with
>This response is an equivalency of saying "the shit I just took just now, was better than a diarrhea I had yesterday.."
Instead of fallout 4.
We got fallout 4..IN SPPAAAAACE
>23 FPS
RIP to your character's right ankle
are you playing on low? whys it looks so shit
God it fucking pisses me off that microsoft doesnt crack the whip. They spend all tgis fucking money and this is the result?
>Big rigs tier cliff
Kino, truly the white man game
loooool
>impressed by empty procgen slop
And the attention they put to the planets, yes.
yooo is this the new halloween version of the fortnite map?
looks more like the battle pass to me
Looks more like a legendary skin to me
Those ground textures are ps3/Xbox 360 era
Feel free to compare it to games with as much scale as this one, though. You guys love to bring up NMS, how does that one compare? And mind you, the planets in this one have cycles (Storms, day and night, radiation, etc)
nms has all of that too lel
NMS has all of that and a better story, better exploration, better resource mining, better space flight, better combat.
>NMS has all of that and a better story
Yes. And?
The funniest thing about Starfield is how it made Ganker defend No Man's Sky and Star Citizen of all games.
I'm starting to see why this game is getting so much hate. This appeals only to white men.
perhaps that is true. I love camping and exploring the wilderness in real life
That would explain why third world snoys are in perpetual meltdown mode
huh?
post hand.
That explains why this game has pronouns and woke shit.
wrong ive dumped 40 hours into it and im hispanic. games just fun also FUCK HEATLEECHES
you're white adjacent. that is why you enjoy it.
You're right, it is the quintessential game for the modern white man
SOVL
you hid your fps this time
I've never had my FPS displayed in any screenshot I take. I wonder who you think I am
easy to get overpowered legendary armor you can get early on with a free ship
Why the fuck is everyone wearing this same space suit
it's statistically good and free with an early quest
not using it myself because i think it's fucking ugly.
You can grab the 140 all protection suit in the Lodge basement at the start of the game because there's a crack in the door
i don't need to exploit the game; it's already easy enough as-is
yeah I know but I don't want to "cheat" like that in a first playthrough
>not using it myself because i think it's fucking ugly
Fucking same
Looks>Stats every time
It's easy to get and powerful, but the game is piss easy so I don't know why people use it. Fashion is more important
Don't know
Especially when you can go to a lvl 25 system and find armour with 40 points more on all defences.
Its one italian larping as pajeet, falseflagging and spamming since the early access
lord knows why
agreed, ye
The fuck is that black hole?
It's actually the dark side of a planet.
HOLY KINO
White man game indeed.
Youre not even white
Damn, they released Starfield for PS3/PS4 systems?
Kinda based tbQh
Absolute ludo, with none of the pretense of artificial content that other games have. Just pure exploration.
that's pretty cool, is this like skyrim where there's little points of interests strewn about?
No, it's mostly empty with some like one type of beast monster per planet and the occasional copypasta enemy outpost.
yes
are they randomly generated or handcrafted?
I kneel
Why did you screencap your own blatantly wrong post, the only replies yo which were correctly calling you wrong?
Kinda put into words the major reasons I like the game. I do hope the baiters shitposters and Indians fuck off these threads in the following weeks.
What's Todd's e-mail?
t. >Verification not required.
The bar is on the ground. This isn't even Skyrim tier.
>This isn't even Skyrim tier.
You're an idiot.
Why is the game so fucking ugly?
made by jeets
To go with this ass ugly society that can't make a decent video game to save their lives
You can't do anything with it, what's the point of making an Outpost?
What's the point of playing video games?
absolutely nothing
it's the worst part of the game
>absolutely nothing for miles
LUDO KINO MASTERPIECE
Why are people so excited by this? What's the point of a vast landscape if there is fuckall to do in it? What can you do down there? Look at trees and rocks?
>Look at trees and rocks?
look man if you spend ungodly amount of money on gacha to pay for pngs, you have no high ground to critisize others .
Just because someone doesn't like what you do doesn't mean they are a mouthbreathing gatcha player you esl gay. I was asking because I don't see anything there besides trees and rocks, and I am trying to figure what you actually do in the game there
You sound like you don't go on hikes much
I love going on hikes.
Todd literally thinks his audience is too dumb to recognize the same spacer outpost 20 times in a row.
based
Big empty fucking nothing.
Serious question: how can you guys enjoy scenery like this if you know it's all randomly generated and isn't actually "there"?
>how can you play a game if the stuff is not actually there
retard. Literal retard
You know what I mean. None of the discoveries you make matter because they're all just randomly generated and stop existing the second you leave the zone. In other Bethesda games locations had permanence and the worlds felt like actual places, but if you start randomly generating everything then that feeling just vanishes.
NOOOO YOURE NOT ALLOWED TO ENJOY THE GAME
>Same 3 dungeon layouts
Objectively wrong, there's not a single copypasted dungeon in Skyrim
>exploration
There's nothing wrong with it though. It would take like hundreds of hours just to survey all the plants alone. Then you add in all the random things that spawns in and the hand crafted pieces. There's literally too much if anything
No, you're right that there isnt really anything fundamentally wrong with exploration, all I'm saying is that if you approach it the same way as their previous games you won't really have fun and you will start seeing flaws (too big and empty and no vehicle/mount to compensate). Thats why you need to have tosome purpose when exploring, whether it's to do a mission board bounty on a planet, r something else
The mantis suit is ugly, I instantly sold it.
Whats that fucking outfit lmao, worse that the toilet armor
uhhhh I thought volumetric fog was bad???? guys do we like it now?????????
What trogoldyte told you that?
im on the fence about it.
i never played any bethesda game
i remember as a kid i wanted to try morrowind but never did
i currently have skyrim on my steam wishlist but there's always something else i want to play more
but starfield in all the screenshots and footage i've seen just looks kinda bland, doesn't appeal t me at all
i'll try to give skyrim a go sometime though
>i remember as a kid i wanted to try morrowind but never did
bullshit
nah it's true
i was like 7 or 8 when it came out, i was playing warcraft 3, diablo 2, rayman 3, beyond good and evil and prince of persia around that time that pc was barely keeping up with
i held the morrowind physical box in a store multiple times but i had so many games already
later i got sucked into wow and didn't play anything else for years before eventually quitting for good
>nah it's true
i find it hard to believe that an 8 years old would even know of such a niche obscure neckbeard game much less want to play it.
sounds like a personal problem
>fatherless household
>brotherless household
You fucked up your build, you should reroll
i even remember i was buying some gaming magazine that reviewed it very highly which is what made me interested
also i'm from eastern europe, it wasn't niche where i'm from
morrowing, gothic / gothic 2 and baldur's gate were talked about a lot among my friends who were into fantasy & rpgs at school
bro i even played myst series around that time, that was niche, not fucking tes
>he never went to rental stores as a kid and picked some random-ass game you had no idea about and finding a new game you love
Its not an mmo anon doesnt matter if you re 18 years late
Yes.
Looks like a nailgun. Nailguns are cool.
it doesn't sound right when you say it like that
>NAAAAILGUN
It's growing on me now that I am away from new san francisco.
This, they should have started the player in Neon.
maybe when patch day rolls around but it's too much of a buggy mess to bother with at present
>made is 6 hours
im proud i got that far as a bethesda hater. game is ass, but every bethesda game is ass.
Yeah it is pretty good.
I would kill for some chicken Tikka rn
Game is shit though
>Highly detailed random objects
>PS3 terrain graphics
What the fuck is this shit?
>flat health restoration
>not heath regen over time
>not incrasing satiety level
Thank you for remindng me in ONE picture why the game is shit. Same shlock as Skyrim (and Fallout 4 and Oblivion and Fallout 3). Whatever the graphics are, they are tertiary to gameplay, and gameplay obviously sucks ass in Starfield.
Just ONE image to remind me - all it took.
The actual healing items like medkits in the game are % based but yeah, theres not a limit on how many you can use.
I wish I had a better PC.
It still looks like shit on ultra
your wish is granted
They are releasing dlc and mod support next year
Guess I'll get it sometime next year then
should I play now or what for the dlc to come out
The game is VERY long and part of its narrative goes onto NG+ and further. If you don't care about that play it whenever, if you want to have it all done by the time the DLCs hit then pirate it now and be ready.
Todd looking old as fuck. Time comes for all of us
Yea man
It's fine.
Space feels like it's just a gimmick, because outside a handful of space fights it's just a shitty quick travel.
Combat is looter shooter without any rewarding feeling gun play.
But, it's still decent enough, and not offensive.
It's easily my goty
>a billion good games this year
>fags are gonna still shit themselves over todd's latest garbage
honestly? it makes me mad.
Name 5 good games that came out this year
Baldur's Gate 3
System Shock Remake
Jagged Alliance 3
Pizza Tower
Cyberpunk 2077:Phantom Liberty
>Cyberpunk 2077:Phantom Liberty
Didn't came out yet. So no past tense there, redditor.
It's been more fun than the other stuff I played this year
I haven't played bg3, but I did play re4r, totk, ffxvi, soul hackers 2 (lol), ac6, and fe engage
Not sure what masterpieces you think came out this year exactly but most of what I listed left me pretty disappointed, especially ac6 and ffxvi
its like
he thinks people cant play more than 1 game.
>Getting angry over other people's gaming preferences
You truly have nothing in your life worth getting mad about, do you?
I got 700 hours in skyrim and never finished the story once so I don't really care if the story is good or not. Does Starfield still work as a space setting shooter? Is melee doable and fun?
gameplay seems fun, but im three hours in and i see no aliens.
>and i see no aliens.
Only exist on habitable planets as basically wildlife.
Unless there is some advanced species later you find I don't think it goes beyond animals.
Melee is worse than FO4, real lack of weapons and unique shit.
I would be if they removed half the loading screens and redesigned quests better. Too much running around for one task, then run back to the giver. Like holy shit its 300 years into the future I can't call this bitch on a phone and take a picture of completing a task?
>loading screens
This is a parallel reality future where phones and internet and bad words don't exist
It's kinda like FO4 but worse in every way.
Fallout 4
>Ghouls rushing and dodging towards you
>Suicide supers
>Heavy weapons supers
>Melee supers
>Rifle supers
>Tanky crabs
>Every assortment of raider
>Floating robots
>Fast flying creatures
>Nukes
Starfield
>Enemy with rifle
>Robot with gun
this
starfield has NOTHING besides human enemies
NOTHING
no aliens
no callbacks to fallouts aliens
no easter eggs to TES
NOTHING
no planets controlled by aliens or something fun
Imagine something as flashbangs or smoke grenades?
>Spacer throws smoke
>Have 3 of them then rush in to you for melee
Something so fucking simple
its just boring humans in red, green, blue suits
thats fucking IT
What about all the aliens you encounter and have to fight? What about terrormorphs?
bro I know you didn't play the game but shit at least read something before you shitpost
They re just spore bugs i prefer zetans from fallout
>generic 4 legged aliens that walk towards you
WOW

It's amazing, some of them even FLY.

Yes.

OK finally a criticism of the game that is valid.
The game could really use this kind of attack. They have robots - just have suicide drones that charge you while a beeping sound freaks you the fuck out.
>OK finally a criticism of the game that is valid.
>finally
have a nice day
>game hypes up mind controlled aliens and mechs
>they're banned by the space geneva convention and hardly appear in the game at all
The robots are vasco with gun really pathetic considering its the same engine as latest fallout
my favorite is vasco but with ring around body
>Ghouls rushing and dodging towards you
>Suicide supers
>Heavy weapons supers
>Melee supers
>Rifle supers
>Tanky crabs
>Every assortment of raider
>Floating robots
>Fast flying creatures
>Nukes

Wew. They could've done with adding actual alien races but don't think Fallout has a lot of variety.

Yup KEK guess ill gonna do a mcguffin hunt to solve my life
Ok so after a recent PCGamer article, many reviews and a new mod all talking about "having to watch the ship take off and land animation hundreds of times" I want to just make sure everyone I come across knows this
You all are aware you can faster travel from planet to planet from anywhere on the surface directly, right? A LOT of people seem to not understand this and are returning to their ship for every planet hop.
Yeah, tutorial's obtuse and the menu is horrifically unintuitive but once you figure it out it's easy to hop around the entire universe.
No , game lacks ill wait dlc
Why did you screencap my wife?

A bog octopus in space!? How terrifying.
IM GETTING INSANE SAVE ME RACIST CAT
Why exactly is there so much seething around this game? Is it just the prefect combination of snoys having literally nothing to play and the anti-bethesda pebbitors who endlessly rewatch internet historians fall of 76 video?
It's a pretty good game, it's certainly not offensively bad at the very least, and I really can't understand getting genuinely mad about people enjoying it
Name one good thing about it
The quests have all been really good
The gun designs are very appealing
The skill system is cool and forces you to actually focus (can't be Jack of all trades)
Ship building is great
Exploration and charting planets is fun
They're all shit
Guns look nice
It's fucking horried
Although nice, serves absolutely zero point
All you have from that is nice looking guns and a nice ship builder.
Decade of effort.
>Those are the good points?
>Yea well I disagree!
Ok.
>You don't think they're good points?
>Yea well I disagree
Ok
Except my opinion isn't coming from a retard, so I'm automatically right and you're wrong.
You can be but not only wasting xp but also pointless challenges
>The quests have all been really good
Main quest is aids and a majority of side quests is KILL LOOT RETURN
>Exploration and charting planets is fun
Just like pulling teeth.
Cope moar
majority of side quests is KILL LOOT RETUR
That's 99% of games ever made
and does this change the fact that KILL LOOT RETURN is bad quest design?
Highest settings with no frame drop
It's shit
>poorfag GPU
>highest settings with no frame drop
Bullshit, unless you’re playing at 1080 with 66% scaling
I have your processor and upgraded to an XTX. I *just* make it. No way your card can run it the way you describe. Stop lying.
You have an AMD gpu, it’s the Nvidia cards with the issues.
Yeah I don't get it either, it's a bethesda ass bethesda game. Wide as an ocean, shallow as a puddle, but hot damn you can just immerse yourself in their worlds.
These games are only immersive to people who barely play any games.
I'm just happy to get freelancer with a new coat of paint
How in the hell is Starfield anything like Freelancer?
He's just baiting you.
Yes but I want to see him actually try to rationalize this one. I'm curious to see how retarded things can get here.
How is it not?
Burden of proof is on the one who made the claim. How is Starfield like Freelancer?
lol
Not as retarded as I'd hoped to see.
It has a pretty rough beginning, and since almost all press and streamer gameplay is the beginning everyone judges it entirely by that.
Anyone who puts time in and sees how much more there is to it is then met with 'HUR DUR IT GETS GOOD AT 9000 HOURS' mockery
It threatens the LGBT agenda of Baldur's Gate.
It isn’t optimized in the slightest.
Yes. That means (You)
gobble gobble

>BG3/ToTK fags hate it because it is a possible GOTY pick

>that quest on neon
>get in the elevator
>WALTAH

No it runs like complete ass. Thanks Todd
I'm waiting for some mods and patches before playing it.
Depends what kind of mods you're waiting for, because the creation kit won't come before some time.
>watered down ass "chosen one" main questline, shit sucks and you strive to ignore it
>every procedurally generated planet is devoid of anything meaningful to do and has very little to even see
>NPCs look like shit
>writing sucks hard dick for 70% of the game and is semi-interesting for 30% of the game, but is shallow and relatively brief throughout all of the game
>most locations have inconsequential dialogue and no real quests, for those that have quests, they are fetch quests, perhaps with some combat
>instanced load zones
>lacks all soul
>ship building and flight is cool and a redeemable part of the game
>shooting is fun, an improvement on F4s basic mechanics
>quests have no real variation in how you complete them, two different paths wind up at the same place
>skills barely matter or are used for anything meaningful
>speech checks suck and are nerfed in your favor always
>stealth sucks and you can be kneeling in front of someone and remain undetected
>overall worldbuilding is shallow as shit and you might read some shit in books or terminals that fills in gaps but through straight dialogue and generic settings you will not divine much about the world's internal logic and thus not feel very immersed
>boring as fuck unless you're doing the main curated content
>most satisfying loops rely on gimmicky shit like epic space battlez!!! or epic explosive combat!!! and not on worldbuilding or plot/dialogue depth
>shallow ethical dilemmas where they even exist
Already debunked, sorry sweaty
What I like with the main storyline in Starfield is that they finally managed to not make it an urgency like "OH SHIT OH SHIT ALDUIN IS GONNA DESTROY THE WORLD YOU HAVE TO KILL IT QUICK" while your character will be doing the dark brotherhood and other quests taking months ingame
You are very much the chosen one in Starfield, but there is no immediate and immersion breaking urgency, the goal is to find and investigate those weird artifacts and temples and ghost bros attacking you
Tbh you re the chosen two but yep the intro is so convenient a moron give you all because you saw galaxies by touching a mcguffin
Is comfy
The only game where I felt like you were supposed to rush the main quest was actually Oblivion, because of all the Oblivion Gates scattered throughout the entire map. Even in Skyrim, roleplaying the distance between Holds as they're supposed to be in lore -that is to say, you wouldn't willy nilly travel back and forth because it'd be a several days travel- gives you a lot of freedom if you make leveling up part of the immersion
>just escaped Helgen, in Riverwood
>need to get equipment to surive and not be mistaken as someone in either part of the civil war conflict, do odd jobs and ends in the village
>get to Whiterun, sell some stuff and start to plan what you'll do now that you're free from prison
>inform the Jarl as a favor why not
>"hey the Jarl asked me to go to this one dungeon, surely I'll do this and my new life in Skyrim free from dragons will begin!"
>one thing leads to the other, you're now Dragonborn
>you're low level, shittily equipped and you've just been asked to go climb a mountain one Hold over
>roleplay you preparing for the journey and getting stronger why doing a shitload of quests in the area, bounties, join Companions
>finally get to the Throat of the World then back to get the Horn, do all dungeons on the way then likewise when you get to Delphine and on your way to Solitude to infiltrate the Embassy
>rescuing Esbern opens the door to Riften and staying a while to getting to know the surroundings and local politics, reaching Sky Haven Temple does the same for the Forsworn area
>needing the Elder Scroll puts you in contact with the College, leading to easy roleplay reasons for joining it to get stronger and gain more knowledge about dragons
>after defeating Alduin at the Throat of the World you can roleplay that he's "off to lick his wounds" for a bit and do some downtime exploration
Zoomers
Morrowind buck-broke Todd. He consistently keeps making games that stay further from RPG and into some shitty version of Redguard except with open world and some rpg elements. He could have just copied Dark Messiah, but nope. Also, levitation is not in Oblivion (much like a lot of things) because it can be easily exploited by player, and mostly because consoles could not handle open cities - so they made cities separate cells. Cant have levitation to expose all that horrible LOD for distant objects (especially in oblivion wastes). Same-ish reason why its not in Skyrim, plus because they would really not know how to deal with it gameplay wise.
>oblivion
>enchanting is shit and you need sigil stones to make anything decent
>4 potion limit because alchemy was broken as fuck in morrowind (only if you had no self-control)
>on the plus side you can make potions out of single ingredients
>on the very minus side you cannot discover alchemical effects through experimentation and need to level alchemy
>leveled loot tables so good luck because there are very very few handplaced items that make sense or are worth shit
>level-scaling
>completely crippled to fuck player power (damage increases from stats trashed to shit, stats/skills dont increase anything after 100 - few exceptions though like acrobatics and carry weight from strength)
>spellcasting will deplete the shit out of your mana so chug pots or use up welkynd stones non-stop
>forced to use exploits (drain health 100pts at lvl 1-3, spell stacking, 100% chameleon), conjuration+illusion to get minions fighting for you, or just plain avoid combat
>some interesting loot though (like Mundane ring, ring of iron fists, necklace of swords/axes, spelldrinker amulet, some uniquely enchanted gear too) - but all of it just goes to make you invulnerable to the slogfest that is combat
Multiple logical fallacies detected.
>work your way up
Everyone that has played Morrowind past a first playthrough in the last 20 years just abused mechanics to become retardedly OP in the first two hours. We've all done it.
>past a first playthrough
I only ever had a single playthrough that lasted over 1000hr kek.
If you don't even want to put in the effort to do alchemy, enchanting, or spellmaking you can get the same effect by putting the game on max easy mode and that's the experience of the game with all those
And yet people will say
>It's a Bethesda game, did you expect it to be different?
and
>It's so fucking good, bros B^)
in the same breath
Well the pasta literally called the game redeemed
You see that mountain?
You can explore it.
> And so the starborn wasted time in another universe nobody knew why he skipped even his parents
I'm enjoying the $70 I didn't spend in other ways 😉
Wow what a great contribution to the conversation. Lmao retard
>complete alternating currernts
>shopkeep npc doesnt even say anything just continues their generic dialogue when interacted with
>Other Npc just becomes generic named npc who says they have 3 jobs on the backburner and no one to help
Its like every sidequest was writtin by an AI
No sadly emil isnt an ai
Yes. I'm over 10 hours in and haven't even left New Atlantis yet.
>Start game
>Customize character immediately
>Pick backstory
>Customize wife/husband
>You get a snarky but lovable daughter who looks like both of you as a companion.
This game could've been kino. They have absolutely no soul.
No thanks im tired of family trope thank god is an optional trait
Who else stole the space suit behind the glitched case in the Lodge?
I just use unlock command besides the click code element its still janky shit since skyrim but by that cae i just tcl aka noclip
Why are spacers/ecliptic/crimson fleet basically all the same fucking thing? I've had moments where I've entered a dungeon filled with one of them and my companion starts referring to them as one of the other two, even the game can't tell the difference.
>i7 4770k
>GA-Z97X mobo
>rtx 3070 I know im bottlenecking like crazy but I got a good deal on one and upgraded from a 1070
>16gb ram
Am I even going to get 30 fps?
More or less yep but dont loose your shit if new atlanta loose fps its an unoptimiced moronian shithole
Thanks
BREAKING: 10 year old midrange processor no longer top-tier for present day PC building, more at 11.
>BREAKING: 10 year old midrange processor no longer top-tier for present day PC building, more at 11.
Given the way Ganker acts most of the time that is indeed shocking news.
>i7 4770k
lol
You'll probably get like 30 in cities, 45 on planets, and 60 in interiors. I recommend the settings here and download the DLSS mod for better graphics.
am using a 3050 and with nvidia control panel settings changed up I get acceptable fps, at least outside of the first big city
I made the same upgrade from a 1070ti to a 3070.
CPU is a huge bottleneck for the game because of lousy optimization.
Cybershit 2077 unironically looks better and runs better than starfield.
>Cybershit 2077 unironically looks better and runs better than starfield.
As does four year old RDR2, Denuvo hampered Hogwart's Legacy and even the fucking Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Todd has literally no excuse for this shit.
I keep misreading Ecliptic as Epileptic.
KEK i just with spacist to racist and the uc unatco
So, is it better than Fallout 4?
yes, by a lot
Hell no.
Is shit better than pee?
thats up to the viewer to decide!
Yes considerably
Better quests, actual multiple ways of completing quests, better gunplay, better story
Although I think fo4s companions are more memorable
same type of shit, maybe worse
>Builds are even less distinct, perks are skyrim tier % increase
>the enemy variety is a step back, 90% of the time it's just human with gun, but some of them have several layers of sponge instead of one
>NPC faces are a step back, despite some new tech they scanned aboriginals into the game so you have to bend over backwards not to make a monster
>guns are even more idiotic, but there is a more complex magic weapon (legendary) system
>the main quest is even more of a railroad, sarcastic is back with a vengeance
>you have to fast travel everywhere which breaks up the gameplay too much, and there is no survival since you can just teleport away
>more in depth disease/wound system, but again just teleport to a clinic
>new mechanics which don't add much (like ships) but they removed others like local maps (lol), beds you can rent, NPCs are up 24/7, no power armor, no legs/arms/chest armor, no rads, no scavenging for trash and breaking it down, no stimpack animation, drugs are worse, food is pointless +5 health
>fallout has a consistent theme, this game struggles to feel like a space game which is in part due to the bland OST
But mods aren't our yet, so it's not even close - F4 is the better experience
>Builds are even less distinct
Stopped reading there
You can't even lockpick, sneak, or boost without taking skills. You really can't go fo4 jack of all trades mode, you need to pick 1 or 2 categories and focus or else you will be lvl 50 with a bunch of tier 1 and 2 skills
>you need to pick 1 or 2 categories and focus
more like get the stuff you want from the first two tiers, after that who cares
>4 tiers lockpick
>4 tiers sneak
>4 tiers boost pack
>4 tiers weight lifting
That's already level 16 if you are actually going to grab all the "essentials"
With the addition of space and ship stuff on top of that you arguably need piloting, targeting systems, etc so you really do need to focus alot more than fo4
Also having advancement tied to challenges is infinitely better than having them level gated
>they removed others like local maps
This is what's really confusing, why wouldn't the cities have maps??
>removed others like local maps
Not too torn up about this. Local map has progressively been getting noisier and worse since Oblivion. It's utterly fucking incomprehensible in Fallout 4.
So modkit is not out yet? I guess they are pulling Skyrim and Fallout 4 on this - half a year to wait until modders can start fixing it, unless someone hacks up TESEdit to work with SF.
And yeah, what you typed sounds horrible.
>half a year to wait
The longer they leave it the more this game is going to get panned.
nah
fallout 4 has a more interesting world and you can actually walk around it and find cool shit everywhere
post apocalyptic is way more interesting than boring human-only empty space
no unironically, i liked this and fallout 4 but fucking hell its more annoying and somehow the character models look worse
>Doesn't support custom resolutions
Man, fuck this game
it's okay
man this looks so ugly
i remember playing witcher 3 like 8 or so years ago and it was so much prettier to look at
that the fuck
It's surprisingly great
It blows the outer worlds and fallout 4 out of the water
am i a bitch for playing on easy? i just wanna enjoy the game...upping the difficulty only turns enemies into bullet sponges, it's not like first person shooter combat is hard or anything.
No, elite enemies needing several mags to kill is not fun.
it's okay when fromsoft does it
>it's okay when fromsoft does it
except it makes sense when they do it. enemies/bosses have movesets that can be dodged, parried and blocked. what can you do in an fps? take cover? it makes no sense for enemies in these types of games to have high health pools
bitch
I am now enjoying Starfield
god DAMN thats a perfect roll right there
jesus christ
>fallout 4/76 legendary system
Bloody hell... that is indeed bad.
Pirated it, and deleted it. Shit runs so bad its crazy. Will try again in 6 months maybe.
>Need to get high-tier research to build high-tier extractors for high-tier research
>The resources have literally no point after that
epic
Who has link to DLSS3 crack?
I found a quest chain that lets me work with UC SysDef to infiltrate the Crimson Fleet and it made me hate this game. The fleet are written very sympathetically with grey morals and all of their members have interesting backstories and are full of personality. Meanwhile the UC SysDef contacts have like 5 lines of dialogue each and are the most boring big questline npcs in the game but if you side with the fleet everyone in Constellation hates you despite them claiming they give their members autonomy to make their own decisions and calls.
I enjoyed. Played through it once and dont feel like starting ng+. Its an ok bethesda rpg 7/10, no way it has any longevity even with mods
Bro if you are already done I can't imagine you even did the faction quests, which are infinitely better than the main quest
Sad way to play games
I am! Have a good day out there in space today fellow explorers!
every named npc is essential and you're not allowed to kill them
Not true, I just shot the freestar collective ambassador in the face when I got sick of trying to negotiate with her and she died
Lmao that not even remotely true
You can murder a surprising number of names npcs, even ones tied to major faction quest lines
Yes.
i'm not buying it til the sex mods come out.
What are the best abilities for being a space mage?
no build needed, just fly through the space rings and get your star shouts
I finally got Starfield, and fuck. I thought you all were memeing or just being contrarian, but the game really does suck. Everything looks like there's some shitty haze filter applied, it has zero soul, the first mission with Vosco, he's so shit I can't even listen to what he's saying, and it's just so boring! I've got 113 minutes in, I hope Steam gives me a refund.
It's absolute garbage, this is true.
Don't believe reviewers. They're all corrupt, or cowardly. They wouldn't dare draw the ire of microsoft. An implicit sword of damocles, if you will.
Oh I'm trans btw
I've never had anyone do that to one of my posts, thanks chud.
The game would be 10/10 if there were a mod to center the third-person camera in the middle like Elden Ring
patch when
no, but i am enjoying the shitposting
Anyone else get bored of it halfway through and started a new playthrough of Skyrim instead?
>Looped into NG+ but probably won't replay it for a few months
"Just consume the product and get excited for the next one".
>consume the product
There is no next product until the next FF7R.
Yep.
Just can’t take the audio delay every time there is NPC dialogue.
Just can’t take it.
Unfinished game.
it occurred to me while mars, that realistically any bases on mars wouldn't really have ladders or stairs if someone was building them for productive efficiency.
The usual routine of going to your ship to use the nav map to and take off then activate grav drive is still there if you so desire
Todd's a fucking moron as always. Markets the game's "exploration" (fast travel) as its main selling point. The quests are the only thing that makes Starfield fun
It's alright. More of the same from Bethesda, enjoyable in small doses.
can you still craft stuff if you put all your materials inside the infinite lockbox at the lodge? or is just the materials inside your ship that count when crafting?
>the stupid sohla bangawala meeting
I lol'd
The entire concept of NG+ makes the game depressing given the context for it. Kind of makes sense that all the Starborn are schizos.
What are some lore or state of the galaxy you would change to make it more interesting. I would have leaned far more into a Cold War situation with Freestar and UC
meh
Todd is always going to win.
Not really. I redeemed a free month of game pass ultimate for it and i've spent more time playing monster hunter rise.
No, it is garbage. I refunded and bought AC6 instead. Armored Core is way better than this shit show.
You're forced to travel by menu. It isn't a space game, it doesn't even have proper physics for spaceships. Game's awful.
Between this, nms, and outer wilds, I'm eating fuckin good.
Handcrafted world will be always superior
I just did the first Vanguard mission, it was actually pretty great. Much better introduction to the big fuckoff monster-type enemy than Fallout 4
Haven't played yet. I expect every new game to be shit and it usually is. I'll play it expecting it to be shit and be happy if it ain't
Yeah until this, just refunded btw
>My equipment is freezing up here, can't stay out here too long
>turn towards her
the dialogue options are complete cringe. its either 'straight to the point' or the other 3 options are reddit quips
2060 and installed on hdd, game was a mess
uninstalled after half an hour
lipsync and music was all over the place
space combat was piss boring, ground combat was boring
way too much loot everywhere
i'll try the game again in the future when i have a better pc
>2060 and installed on hdd
im aware you are the poorest of poorfags but you could literally buy a better gpu and a big ssd for 50 bucks each. Why suffer like this
bro the game needs SSD cause it use skyrim map sice as cells
>disable an ecliptic ship, board
>zero g close quarters battle commences
Was pretty cool.
Next time try using the mining laser in combat, unlike all other weapons it won't kick you back when firing in zero G and if you first charge the shot with right click you can melt through enemies
I think I would like this game well enough if I could find a story thread that I actually thought was interesting.
IT GETS GOOD 12 HOURS IN
>you've lived long enough to see people unironically state Fallout 4 has better RPG mechanics, roleplay and dialogue choices than... well any game ever really
>"a whole battery of a mining lasor to mine a rock"
>he doesn't know
Right click, doofus
Not him but how do you mine the larger chunks of stuff, my cutter doesn't do shit even on max beam focus
If its a huge thing on the ground try collecting with E its probably gas or liquid.
Stuff like neon, argon etc right?
Of course my dumb ass didn't try that, now I gotta remember where I saw neon since need some to go rice out my guns with LAMs
Yep. Basically anything larger than the usual ore node you'll need to go right upto it and manually collect
Why i need to right click to get an efective lasor? Thats dumb
You're hyperfocusing the beam as an alternate fire mode. It's cool
It's more that the primary fire mode has no reason to ever be used.
>Right click
was it just me not paying attention or did they genuinely never explain this mechanic? i had to google "starfield why cutter can't break calvinhobbsium?" and the first result was "things starfield doesn't tell you"
9 hours in.
yes, my enjoyment has been increasing as I get familiar with how to do things.
not having maps is one of my pet pevees in video games but im managing.
im looking for barret damn it. found out he was taken hostage but dont know where he is
Enjoying my refund this game is years of mods away from being enjoyable.
>random CTDs
Yep, it's a Bethesda game alright.
I was but now the bugs are piling up. Now I'm about to save myself the headache and drop it.
>was looking forward to playing payday 3 open beta this weekend
>find out they want my email if i want to play
>skipped
>get game pass and download starefield
>uninstall after reaching the first pirate base
now i have to wait for armored core 6 to go on sale
Good. Go away gay. Why do you spend your time posting about a game you hate gay?
I'm playing it but I'm not enjoying it.
no
very, especially the random ct's
the way ng+ works is pretty cool but i wish there was more to it
Maybe if they added more loading screens it would be better. Maybe every time you sprint for 10 seconds you get a loading screen, that would fix the game for me
Not really but whatever
>want to join Crimson Fleet
>can't massacre the UC leadership right then and there
>want to kill the CF and stay with UC
>can't massacre the top CF leadership
This is Dawnguard shit all over again.
IM AT THE END OF THE GAME AND THIS SARAH SIDE QUEST IS STILL FUCKING BROKEN EVERY FUCKING OBJECTIVE IS BROKEN FUCK THIS PIECE OF SHIT!!!!
Every game has bugs retard
Lemme know when you lose your progress gay. Probably can't afford the game.
If you didn't beat the vanguard simulation through tier 6 on very hard then you didn't beat the game
t. top 99.7% percentile sigma II stdev of pilots
how can you possibly do that
I can't even beat the first ship on very hard at level 70
the in-game debug tools the instructor hints at you to use and smart positioning when the waves come in
So basically just weave in and out of the space station?
Not the space station in my case, but a big ass asteroid that wouldn't be destroyed by enemy weapons fire, more a planetoid, really.
I'd use it as defilade cover and beat the enemies as they came in view with my LoS blocked from the rest of them for a precious few seconds.
Tier 5 and 6 are a bit of a crapshoot though, then you really need to rely on your debug allies to soak some fire while you burn some of them down.
man i had some CLASSIC bethesda last night, i quick saved the game and closed and went and did other stuff, relaunched, the npc's i was supposed to talk to in the room with me had despawned. so i had to console myself the key they were gonna give me. then later in the mission one of the enemies fell through the floor and i couldn't 100% wipe them, so i had to console through the floor and finish him off
what do you do if you bought this on xbox? suffer?
playing on xbox and nothing like that has happened to me.
quick resume works great on this game.
anyway, if you bought the game, then you also got the MS Store version so download that one.
>download the ms store version
why
Your save carries over between PC and Xbox.
You only need to buy the game once and you'll have it on both platforms.
Bethesda stopped using the Steam workshop for mods, preferring their own internal workshop system (but most of the time you'll use an external site like nexus).
GotY for me
Oh boy I have a lot of things to say about this game.
>Spend 2 hours getting fucking powers and all the tedium entailed
>Get to "that" quest for the lodge or the eye
>Say I need to go to the eye
>Events in the lodge start anyway
>Miss the eye
>"oh no it's too late!"
>Fuck
>Go to reload save
>Fucking game overrides all my saves except for one from 2 hours ago before I did any of the powers
Fuck anti savescumming bullshit
Ive see that ive should do main quests first before doing anything else. Is this true?
Yes until into the unknown bug. It's been 10 stinking days and still no update?
game is completely sauceless - environments range from Neon to ugly, combat feels terrible, ship combat feels like i'm reading ancient sanskrit i can't understand how to not get fucking destroyed yet im about to jump on and build a shitty little outpost. todd has done it again (until phantom liberty)
make sure youre putting power into your engines for evasive maneuvers, also abuse your thrusters to get better positioning during combat. you can turn on a dime and get the upper hand on higher level ships if you know what youre doing.
It's alright
vehicle mods when
not doing another playthrough until theres fucking vehicles to get around on planets
it's kino
first bethesda game I"m not going to buy
feels good to be free
What mods are you waiting for?
>Immersive Animation Franework port
>some sort of ballistics/armor mod so enemy tankiness depends on what they're wearing/how they are armored rather than how much HP they have
>level unscaler
>more destructible clutter items
>gore/dismemberment
At that point you might as well play a better game if you need that many mods to enjoy
not him, but give us some bethesda-likes then anon
>mount and blade
>kingdom come deliverance
>kenshi?"
that's all, even then most of these games arent really good substitutes. kenshi has no content or questing for that matter, kc:d doesn't fulfill/scratch the same itch mostly because it's not sandboxy enough and combat is actually worse than skyrim. Only mount and blade is even close and the devs gave up on bannerlord
>five (5) mods
>"that many"
zoom zoom
I own a Wii, a PS3 and a PS4, and I've been running a 3570k for the past 10 years because not a single game has released that warranted an upgrade, so no.
I was... up until it shit it's pants after I commandeered a new ship and was gathering some loot from a couple of containers I filled earlier.
Comfy
>regulator
Good god this thing FUCKS. No reason to use the ueagle after getting one of these.
Whoa, she lost her suit. Quite a fighter though.
Why won't the game let me rename my ship? It refuses to change.
>Can't fuck main girl
Yeah, that's a failed game right here.
Yeah. Crafting suck dick though
menu, fast travel, pew pew pew, meny, fast travel, talk talk, menu, fast travel, unloading crap, menu, select destination, menu, menu, fast travel
add to that that i just finished the vanguards with 2 morons and a robot, wanting to do the wild west questline, starts of with a moron again...
>looked into the mod that removes blacks
it doesn't change questline npc's.
and that was the end of starfield.
Am i being unreasonable or is this quest fucking terrible? i've been roaming this planet following these gay ass anomalies for 2 fucking hours now
Filtered.
i was actually getting really distracted by running around scanning shit on that planet before i realized "wait this quest is taking longer than usual"
go back to your ship and stand still, open the scanner, turn 360 degrees and walk away in the direction the scanner starts distorting. you'll end up inside a building. what happens next is even more confusing. just fly around and press E on the fairy dust clouds until the game decides to end the flying tutorial
im playing this game shitfaced most of the time so that makes it feel like even more of a fever dream
you don't have to follow the distortions at all, just open the scanner and press A on the undisovered locations
r8 my ship
You have to make it orange, anon
I am, actually.
Oh that makes sense
I'll have to try that next time pirates NEVER SHOULD HAVE COME HERE me
You can do as many zero G combat as you want actually
When attacking a ship, make sure to destroy its grav drive, and when you board it, the ship's interior will be zero G will all their shit flying around
This can also work for your ship if your grav drive gets destroyed
And it's actually fun yes, especially with a shotgun
>spend like 5 hours setting up outposts to funnel resources into a main base
>want to transfer my ships cargo to my base when i land
>there is no option to move ship cargo to base cargo
>you can transfer from the base to the ship, but not the ship to the base
What the fuck were they thinking?
Honestly no because every corner I have to sit through a fucking load screen.
another starkino screenshot bros
deleted it after 5 hours
Are there any loverslab mods yet
I've put ten hours in and it's pretty fucking boring.
I was until the flaws just got too much. Like what fucking major gun store in the capital of an entire faction only has 100-200 rounds of each ammo type at a maximum? At least let me craft my own ammo Todd you fucking 3rd world brained gay.
im trying to.
it has some impressive interiors and despite this garbage engine and its limitation does really good job at creating good atmosphere.
it's a little bit boring for a RPG game, but im gonna keep playing since there's nothing else to play anyway.
>but im gonna keep playing since there's nothing else to play anyway
This, also taking notes on exactly what I want to fix with mods
GIVE ME VEHICLES
I REFUSE TO WALK THAT MUCH
the AI is crap
too many women (seriously, where are all the men? why do women do jobs that they have no interest in doing irl?)
I'm still having fun tho
Is that Canadian actress Sarah Gadon?
I am, but it's an underdog game at the end of the day, that much is obvious. It may not see as much mainstream success as BG3 or Zelda, it might not even win the GOTY award, but it's my personal GOTY right now.
all i see
Not everyone appreciates the milfy look.
Between that, talking about how nothing is quite like a good English liquor, and comments on how she can't imagine people living *like this* in every non-utopian place you hit up she makes for a really great Space Karen.
That's what Yurop shitposting sounds like in general
I really wanted smuggling to be more involved, maybe have a little bit of depth with handling contraband, but it's just shielded cargo modules and the Trade Authority. Disappointing.
>smuggling is just concealing cargo and delivering it to people!
Wtf did you expect?
It's exactly one place that is a franchise. You deliver the contraband to the equivalent of McDonalds in every location with no variety or deviation in approach.
No, is too strong for my weak PC
>Screenshot of some procedural planet
>K-K-KINO
you people can just get Space Engine, it's free
how do I enhance DLSS sharpness? the in game sharpness tool for fsr doesn't do anything
Yes, stopped playing bg3 and ac6 fpr now.
