literal fpbp
these memelord scientists trying to blow people's minds claiming it does exist and we can never understand, always use made up entities that only exist in 2D to try and prove their point.
problem: no such entity exists in the first place. they're using a made up hypothesis to demonstrate a made up concept.
there is no 4th dimension.

As far as I know nobody's ever claimed it's a "real" thing, it's just theoreticals. It's just fun for math nerds to think about and attempt to visualize
>buhhh the 4th dimension is TIME
i hate this trope
you can have any number of spatial dimensions, and using 4 actually has benefits too. look up quaternions and how they revolutionise 3D graphics
>trope
Mathematically, we can have more spatial dimensions than three. So far time is the only fourth dimension that copuld be said to be physically proven to exist.
>trope
calling a logical concept a trope doesn't dispell it, so if you really need the autism then just grab dimension 5 or call the 5th dimension 5 so you can have the 4th be whatever you want.
Braid is actually about time travel, it's the main mechanic of the game, but there's one world specifically I'm thinking of where time is also set to the x-axis, so as you walk forwards and backwards, time in the level advances or reverses. You have to think about WHEN you're standing, not just WHERE you're standing
Not spatially 4d, but I have a project where you have to use time forward/backward and can cause paradoxes by interacting wtih yourself.
This is an example of doing something like Tenet where you go through a portal to move backwards in time, and then go into a portal again to go forwards.
4d doesn't exist.
Grow up
your dick can't

That's still 3D you moronic c**t.
>he doesn't know
left is 2D and right is 3D you literal moron
The fourth dimension is how the x, y and z axis evolve in time, how they were, how they are, how they will be.
It's not something humanly visible, but some games can try to emulate what it would be like.
>he asked, posting a 3D-to-2D .gif
Miegakuri is trying to do something cool. But it's hard for humans to really get our heads around 4D geometry.

How? Time is an illusion.
>Time is an illusion.

i genuinely don't understand what time is
Quaternions are rotation/movement, its essentially time.

It's a 2D game though, so adding time only really brings it up to three dimensions, if we have to be sticklers here.
Talos Principle does some time shit in 3D though, along with a handful of other games.
There's that 4D chess game, where every move you make creates two versions of the board that you can jump back and forth through

Posting my mansion build in 4D Miner, in 3 different scanning views:
The first two views are taken from the same point of view, just scanning along different axes.
Some other smaller build
A tower with side rooms:
A 4D sphere with its 2 equators highlighted:
Castle tower:
And pic related is a demonstration of how 4D allows for switching left and right places.
migraines aaaa
There's a 4D minecraft clone but it kinda sucks after novelty wears off

that's not 4d.
that is 3d on 3d, no not 2d, it still takes up phyiscal space in 3d so it's 3d
Moena is (I think) a 4D flying game, but it's not free, so I can't vow for its quality:

The itch.io page also has a nice document about 4D navigation:

Time "is" not a dimension, however you can indeed visualize it as a dimension and that feels pretty intuitive.
Time bends in presence of mass just like space does. How is it not a dimension?
Why cant they project 4d into 3d and then into 2d instead of taking 3d slices
