Oh no! A guard! You can see them through walls thanks to quiet/dog marking them, or through the Drug That Gives You Wallhax. you shoot them in the head with one of your several silenced nonlethal weapons >use scope to see they're a pathetic S rank, not even S+, so you don't fulton them >move on to fulton a box of materials
It really could have been the greatest stealth game ever made, in some ways it still is but even after all these years you can't ignore its unfinished state and that makes me very sad.
The Japanese only make Hapa characters to justify having White characters in their stories - even Solid Snake is part Japanese, through his mitochondrial DNA.
It’s quite bad and I hated playing it. The story is overwritten and it feels like every single line of the script is supposed to be quotable and dramatic and that got old very quickly because it’s not really that well-written. The gameplay has some questionable design decisions, but I suppose it’s something you can appreciate if you get proficient. AI is as stupid as ever and the world design is extremely bad.
>enough time has passed where you can remove yourself from the initial disappointment.
Nope. Literally few hours ago I remember how fucking hyped I was during trailers and how fucking slow time went by waiting for this DOG'S SHIT.
I liked it a lot and still look back on it pretty fondly. I didn’t play Ground Zeroes until this was actually out and never bothered to play Peace Walker which likely has something to do with me not being disappointed in it like other MGS fans were and still are.
My only real gripe with this game was that the boss fights pretty much all sucked. I found myself thinking of the game as a TV series where is the previous games reminded me of movies. I had a lot of fun with MGO3, too.
The story is too sparse and the stuff that is there is conveyed in an uninteresting way. They made a mistake thinking the open world was going to be interesting enough to want to sit in for long stretches of time, so the mother base cutscenes being this little treat every now and then was not proportionate to how many times you’re going to be flying in and out of the zones. The game really needed a fully realized, fleshed out open world, similar to rdr2. There has to be interesting interactions or locations to make you want to immerse yourself into the overworld and pretend you’re actually some merc out in the wild doing wet work for pay before you evac out for R&R. You can tell that was their vision and it just fell very flat. That dev team really needs to drop the silent protag kick real badly too, it’s hindering their games, it just comes off as a poorly written high school/college level writer thinking being silent and stoic is a personality, when the game suffers for it repeatedly.
Great game, I ended up putting 150hrs into it. I feel bad for anyone that wasn't able to enjoy it and apparently there are a lot of these people on Ganker
I wish V had been Solidus, but I still liked the game. Didn't really care for a lot of the extended/supporting cast and wish it focused more on just V, Kaz and Huey. Quiet can fuck off, so can Man on Fire and even Skullface. The game didn't really seem like it needed an antagonist. Just Diamond Dogs trying to function but the three core members butting heads while still remaining friends despite disagreements is all it needed. That and some better level design.
Making you play the first mission all over again with literally 0% differences made me hate an already disappointing game even more
this
Made me realize I don't enjoy sandbox stealth and the arcade-like linear levels of 1-3 were way more fun
I liked it, although it not being finished it still annoying.

ERM ARE YOU PLAYING THE GAME THE OPTIMAL WAY???? YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO DO THAT AND CRITICIZE THE GAME!!!
I always liked it

Its the first and only MGS game I've played and I loved it a lot
Haven't played it yet. Been meaning to, but need new usb stick to update muh ps4
game is a 7/10 but this is still the greatest game trailer of all time
shoul've been able to kill moron children
one thing from stopping this game being based
btw on my motherbase EVERYONE is white
Anon Kaz is a hapa...
That's good enough, japs are basically white anyway, just different white

I enjoyed it when I first played it, and I enjoyed it when I replayed it a year and a half ago.
Last time I truly enjoyed a AAA game.
Still the best 'revenge bad' story in vidya when you look at all the subtext. But the whole parasites plotline is lame as fuck.
it should have been "revenge good" instead
Don't really care that much for the overall game, but still hum the main motif from time to time. Shit's good.

only part I enjoy is the squirt gun

I didn't even bother to finish it.
Interesting sandbox and tools. Shit tier level design and shit story still makes this game to a failure.
