Essential mods for a first time playthrough of Fallout 4?

Essential mods for a first time playthrough of Fallout 4? I know the dialogue once is big where it removes the voiced options. What other ones should I get?

I mostly prefer Vanilla with slight mods for more immersion.

I only download stability mods. I always prefer the vanilla experience. Try looking at the Fallout 4 Midnight Ride guide. It’s by the same guy who made Viva New Vegas

NPC overhauls, sim settlements 2. Bodyslide cbbe for female, super hero physique for male, outfits for your body slides. Like 4-5 weapons to your taste (grenade launcher, semi auto rifle, a couple melee weapons are my preferreds)

Yes actually, it kicks in after the mirror intro. I forget what it’s called but it’s pretty dang mandatory

Are there any mods that add holstered weapons to the player without making them armor pieces that need a ton of scripting to have them (dis)appear when drawing/holstering them?

      >Thanks, Piper, but... it was implied you're not always thinking that way by your first statement.

usually I like stuff that adds more types of weapons and armor for variety.

Look up Leagacy SPECIAL on the FO4 nexus page. 33 attribute points to distribute (like previous FO entries) instead of 21.

Place Everywhere. Getting rid of the game telling you no to being able to place an object for building makes building anything way better. OCDecorator to place clutter objects so they don't fly everywhere at a nudge.

I've been recently modding both and it is laughably clunky to play FO4 after NV. What the frick is up with companions just not following you, disappearing, the fricking system where you press E and then choose talk, trade etc. None of it functions.
What the frick were they thinking?
    But to answer,
    >New Vegas gun mods
    >colour correction
    >weather
    >unlimited companions
    >Darker nights
    >reduced legendary enemies (bullet sponge non canon homosexualry)
    >no special intro
    >scrap everything
    >tales of the commonwealth (lore friendly quest mod, adds heaps of shit you will think is vanilla)
    >load accelerator
    >pip boy flashlight
    >defense gun
    >pipe gun re texture/rework
    >pip boy 3000A
    >classic holstered weapons
    >modofonto fonts
    >man menu replacer
    >Point lookout (FO3 dlc complete remake)
    >Project Mojave (Go to the strip and a few NV locations, completely remade. Pretty amazing stuff

      companions

Never understood why people play with this shit.

      >makes the game way too easy because you just run around with a whole squad of people mowing everything down instantly
      >tight spaces become a nightmare with all the NPC companions getting in your way constantly

IMO just get the mod that lets you bring dogmeat and 1 companion. Also its fricking stupid to mod your first playthrough. At least play partway through the game and start modding things you dont like. Dont just mod right away.

        >Never understood why people play with this shit.
It's mainly because I've played a ton of fallout, and FO4 enemies become bullet sponges really quickly anyway

I used to imagine travelling around with my party in old J/RPG's and TES and FO let me live that experience in real time. To balance it out I usually mod in difficulty enhancers and mods that increase enemy amount and variety that turn most fights into all out skirmishes or firefights. Enemy AI and boss mods are starting to get good too, there's some interesting ones for Skyrim.

    >first time playthrough
Why the frick would you use mods on your first playthrough? Your first playthrough should be 100% vanilla unless you need something to fix a game breaking bug

Starfield is going to be so fricking bad unless Bethesda drastically fixed their shit. Recently played FO4 and man was it bad full of glitchy bullshit
