Wait this game is actually amazing.
Did I just miss the wave or is this one of those games that went completely under everyone's radar?

Reviewers screamed that it wasn't an open world, story driven crafting sim with LGBTQ romance options and shit on it for having the gall to be a 2006 era TPS in the year 2022 when in reality it just needed to be released at $30 and it would have gained traction. So I guess?
It was very bland and short so it came and went.

Did Evil West steal your lunch money or something?
The game must be pretty shit if you only could get 10 hours out of it.
>t. every game has to be 100 hours
You are what has ruined video games.
NTA but the last thing you should expect from an action game is getting several dozen hours out of it via replayability, be because you want to master the game or because you want to clear all the difficulties.
And I talk as someone who isn't that big on action games. These were the only ones I played last year and while they're 15-20 hours long affairs i still got more than twice as much from them.
Not looking to replay things again and again. Evil West isn't a masterpiece and if it had been released at $30 it would have been far better received.
>Not looking to replay things again and again.
Then why bother with a game belonging to a genre whose main point is replayability through mastery?
Why would anyone who plays action game listen to anything you have to say then?
Good to know there is only one way to enjoy a game.
>Genre literally designed around replayability,
>"no, you're playing it wrong, my casual one-and-done way is the only valid one"
And honestly you just made Evil West look ten times worse on my eyes. If someone so casual as you could finish it in 10 hours for someone with some experience with action games it will take no longer than 2 or 5 making it not worth the $50 they're asking for it, replayability or not.
>no, you're playing it wrong
Way to put word in my mouth. Your very statement is my issue with the game, value for the money.
>Way to put word in my mouth.
No, it's exactly what you're claiming. You look down on people who replays games, and claim that a 10 hours one and done experience is not only is perfectly fine and dandy but it's the only way videogames should be experienced.
Isn't that how moviegames are designed? Just 7 hours then move to the next product?
Holy shit, bro. Way to over extrapolate.
>genre designed around replayability
What are you smoking my homie
love me sum generic tower climbing
>The game must be pretty shit if you only could get 10 hours out of it.
no Gears of War game was ever over 15 hours to complete and usually that was on Insanity difficulty. a game doesn't need to be 50-100hrs to be good.
No, they didn't. Eat your meds, stupid mutt.
have a nice day
It came out, everyone said it was shit for a couple of days and that was it. What's good about it? I've got it on my list as a "Maybe" still.
Mostly just that the gameplay is really fun.
They have a ton of weapons and abilities for you to play around with and you can do stupid shit like knocking enemies into the air and slam dunking them into explosives or doing the devil may cry juggle with the revolver.
It's linear as frick and the levels are pretty boring but I think the combat makes up for it.
The story and setting is also campy as frick if you're into that kinda stuff.
>It's linear as frick and the levels are pretty boring but I think the combat makes up for it.
That's DMCV in a nutshell and it's still easily the second worst game in the series after DMC2
Bad taste pls leave
It's the universal consensus.
nah
Yes it is.
.
The only reason the game was tolerated was due to being the first non-reboot mainline game in 11 years.
When the honeymoon was over every single DMC fan realized the game was bad.
You like making up stories don't you
>It's the universal consensus
You can't even say that with a straight face
Sir for your bravery of saying new thing bad I award you one internet. *Holds up spork respectfully*
I was REALLY hyped for it. Actually wanted to buy the game because it was supposed to be a blast from the past old school tps.
Turns out it's garbage. Just like Calisto Protocol, yet another game I had high hopes for. There is just no hope for modern video games not to suck shit dipped dog dicks.
Thank frick I don't preorder or buy vidya on day 1 anymore. b***her 3 was the last time and even then I sold the collector's edition at 200% profit. That way I've been saving thousands of dollars over the years.
Not even worth giving a (You). What absolute horseshit.
morons think this game was supposed to be a third person shooter? It's a fricking brawler with some gun moves.
This.
It's basically diet DMC with cowboys and vampires and lightning.
I don't know why they went so hard with the lightning bullshit but I'm extremely ok with it.
>morons think this game was supposed to be a third person shooter?
because that's literally how it was advertised.
>It's a fricking brawler with some gun moves.
just like Turdismo Protocol.
what is it with westoid developers and their obsession with third person over the shoulders melee combat that sucks the ever living fun out of everything?
looks like a copy of Goy of War and I'm not into that
It has similarities but its different and better. You have like at least twice as many options in combat as you do in nu GoW games. Combat system is what if nu gows combat system would give you more options and would be more fluid with more combo possibilities. Game would be judged a lot better if it would be longer with more open levels but its budgety AA game so scope of it is understandable.
You have to be fricking moronic to compare calisto protocol to this game. I know you Black folk have dogshit takes but damn.
>but its different and better
your pocket change budget AA turd has nothing on God of War. Scram troony.
Its very good i loved it and im currently 100% it. Game is suprisingly challenging so i assume lots of people got filtered. I just finished 100% Sekiro and started playing Evil west on hard and was suprised how hard the game is but not in a bad way in other games i go through hard easily without problems but here it was good challenge and now i play through on Evil.
Does it feel fair on Evil difficulty?
I'm playing on normal right now and plan to do Evil difficulty next but I was worried they were gonna just bloat the shit out of the enemy hp.
Some of the fights already get kinda opressive when theres enough elite enemies on screen, like those annoying flying dudes I have no idea how to effectively kill them when I'm being assaulted by two other elites and a swarm of guys.
Its not fair on Evil actually but its not that bad like in other games nowadays. Enemies have bloated HP but if you played on normal you shouldn't have any problems. Yeah even normal is pretty hard in comparison to other games but if you learn attack patterns and their AoE hitboxes then you wont have problems.
>its a fricking snoy Black
This explains everything.
Please sir, your redeem is too strong. Do not hang up until 100% excellent
I punch the vampires so hard they explode and shoot lighting and rip them apart for even bigger guns so I can punch even bigger vampires that I can rip in half. good gaem
Magnificently described.
We need more games like this.
it is animated like a 2005 third person shooter
that tells me to not buy
Have they fixed the coop yet? I didn't really care about people saying the gameplay was meh so long as it had working coop, but then I read that progress didn't even save for your coop friend and he was basically just working for you for free.
It looks kind of cool but I heard it had a lot of performance issues across platforms. I thought my PC wouldn't be up to dealing with shoddy optimisation but the PS5 version runs at 1080p for the 60fps mode so that put me off too.
looks like dogshit, and this thread reeks strongly (pun intended) of pajeet redeemer energy. hard pass.
It's just Nu-GOW but even worse.
It's pretty mediocre so far. I mean a steampunk weird west setting seems like it should be fun, but going through the actual levels feel like a chore and absolutely lifeless. Can't even recommend it as janky, it's just plain lame and it takes a lot to make that kind of setting lame.
I'm with you OP, game is a huge blast. Gonna get it for some friends and play co-op
I played the opening level and was unimpressed, combat wasn't very engaging and the writing didn't grab me. Did I give it up too early?
Yes. Combat gets a ton better after you unlock stuff. NG+ plays amazing because of that. Im fricking tired of action games holding back cool shit behind progression system. I wonder if we will ever get a game that will design levels and enemies around player already having cool shit instead of having gay ass ability points every single fricking time.
I played it for 30 minutes before dropping it, it's very mediocre.
>Blurry visuals (Thanks Unreal Engine and TAA)
>Very heavy melee combat magnetism, it would be hard to miss any attack with such heavy melee "autoaim"
