Nintendo exclusives + why would I play PC games on a portable device?

  12. 3 months ago

i already own a switch and the deck has no exclusives to warrant a purchase

I don't want a hand held device. It's annoying to keep track of and recharge, too small of a screen to enjoy, poor audio and controls. Why would you have any of this aside being a kid who gets bored on family trips or wants to show off to your friends at school?

Why would I buy that under-powered steamy trash when the Rog Ally already exists?

      >underpowered
      >performs the same as the Ally because it doesn't have the Windows bloat performance overhead
The Ally only outperforms the Deck in Turbo mode when tethered to the wall, which completely negates the point of a handheld.

the same as the Ally because it doesn't have the Windows bloat performance overhead
You're fricking delusional, even with Windows 11 the Z1 extreme APU on the Ally outperforms the steamy shit even unplugged, but hey you at least you get one 1 hour at most with your games with your shitty 4 core chip LMAO.

I've seen benchmarks and it's stupidly close in many scenarios especially at the same wattage. Also the Steam Deck can be had much cheaper with people getting rid of the LCD version. I just got one for $200.

          >You're fricking delusional
Not tethered to the wall and running on battery, the Ally at best performs the same as the Deck, and on average performs considerably worse. The lows are in the single fricking digits.

I got a switch on release because I was still a highschooler and went places
I don't need a deck because I'm always on my PC anyways and the games I play primarily benefit from a keyboard and mouse

Because there's no port for Nintendo Switch cartridges in it, therefore I'd rather have a Switch and a gaming laptop

I don't give a shit about their kiddie shit IPs and every other multiplat they get is always the worst version of a game to play.

I own a Nintendo Switch because it has games :o) that I, my friends and my family like to play with each other. I bought it in 2018.
I could never really come up with enough reasons to own a Steam Deck considering I don't play games out of the house or in bed often and already own a PC. I get the appeal of playing such a huge library of console and PC games portably, but since I play games handheld so rarely to begin with I'm happy to just stick to using Steam Link or Remote Play with my phone or tablet and a controller instead.
