You can operate back buttons with 4 fingers instead of only 1 thumb for face buttons. I don't get the appeal of the latter control scheme, it is limiting.

R1, R2, running R1, powerstance, jumping slam (ER exclusive), weapon arts button, run/roll on the fucking B button... That's it, Souls control scheme binds any game it touches with giving the player combat as deep as genshin without elements, or bamham. I'd even say Armored Core controls MAKE MORE SENSE.

I'd recommend remapping at least the magic button to one of the bumpers, though, since the game also has a Nero Charged Shot. Or using a controller with back buttons. Much easier to hold charge this way.
