>Did the dude stop developing it
He made it before the perpetual early access fad started. He had a devblog for months and when people asked him to add this or that he always said "I have a current goal when I'll consider the game finished, then I'll release it and add mod tools, that's it". And that's what he did.
He also made like $25+ million (After steam cut/taxes) from the game so I don't blame him for fricking off and just chilling.
You are right, too bad the dev was a hack who admitted a mod made the game better than he ever could so he declared the game finished instead of working harder.
i dunno the game came out in 2014 developed by 1 guy. It's on sale for $7 right now I would say it's totally worth. I think considering these things it's pretty fine most management games like this just become fancy spreadsheets anyway after a while.
I play Endzone and Kingdoms frequently. CS was my goto for awhile but I was never able to get gud. Banished is okay, I like the Mars copycats shit like Haven is pretty cool but most of this new shit is EA so bugs will constantly gnaw at you.
I really like SimCity 2013.
>Getting prerequisites for upgrades.
>Plopping your favorite specializations.
Decent, but unfinished.
Did the dude stop developing it
Years ago.
Yep.
He just said "bro get mods instead" and considered it done.
Ironically, the mods are the games saving graces and stop it being so boring.
source?

Which mod?
Curse of the Golden Llama.
Colonial Charter
They game can't even generate decent looking lakes or rivers. They all look like they were caved out with a spoon.

Dawn of Man was pretty fricking comfy though.
On the contrary, OP. I have played Banished, which is, by definition, as comfy as Banished.
Timberborn is pretty comfy but it's still early access

>tfw tropico peaked in 4 and every subsequent iteration gets worse
