That sign is telling you that if you do not follow the railroaded path, that you are going to have a bad time.
shits easy if you have the DLC weapons. i just nuke the wasps with the grenade launcher.
If you schlep all the way down to Jean Airport, you can straight-shot that shit right to Vegas if you know hot to run on the edges of the terrain that enemy AI cannot pathfind over.
If you have a .357 revolver and a grenade launcher (both obtainable in Goodsprings with DLC) you can just fly into New Vegas. It's the Icarian Flight of Mojave, if you will.
Good old pay to win. Thankfully it was only done by Obsidian. Otherwise people would have gone mad.
>Pay to win
Bethesdrones seethe because obsidian sold all four pre-order bonuses for a dollar
>defending pre order bonuses
The absolute state of ObsidiNPCs
Giving free items at the beginning is atrocious. Even the worst of Bethesda DLC didn't just magically teleport equipment in your inventory.
Just the weapons and armor would already be bad enough but it even loads you up with ammo, repair kits and healing items.
In summary
>I'm mad because people who preordered a single player game got extra items that can help them get through half the game before they're outmatched
I didn't even preorder the game and got that for free so I just sold it, games piss easy anyways.
>I didn't pre order the game
>I got it for free
I believe ultimate edition costs more. Plus everything in the kits are unique items.
I bought it for ten bucks at gamestop and I don't care if they're unique, if I wanted to keep them i'd keep them.
>If I wanted to keep them I'd keep them
If you don't collect the unique weapons than you're a homosexual, don't know what else to say.
I already did in a different playthrough, once is enough for me.
I normally dump most of the preorder items in one of the dumpsters by Chet's store. They never felt like part of the game, so I never considered collecting them like all the other unique weapons.
I always keep the flask though.
>ObsidiNPCs
That's actually a good one. Nice.
Those free items are wack as frick. Even the lead designer went out of his way to make a mod and one of the first things was removing those things and sticking them in fitting areas around the game like the crashed highwayman.
Director didnt want pre-orders so they were most likely forced to add them
>and then Frank fixed it
oh. I wanted to know how they fixed it.
I'd recommend the stream to anyone interested in New Vegas' development or mechanics. Part 2 appears to be missing.
Sawyer played the New California mod for charity, as well, and was miserable the entire time. He skimmed through as much as possible, it's clear he fricking hated the mod.
>Sawyer played the New California mod
what kind of sick people would ask that he do that to himself?
The developers donated and were in the chat or something. He kept furrowing his brows, particularly in the beginning with the coach - and the Enclave, "you were born outside of the vault" stuff.
Individual modders are fine, but as soon as you make a "community", you're fricked. Mod development teams are a plague and they belong on a cross.
>Sawyer hated the NC mod
I did to. A lot of gameplay felt dumb, and the story was ass.
Although, to be fair, it was better than frontier.
Not really, at least Frontier felt like qn actual Fallout game/expansion.
>Bug happens in NV
>Developers are trying to fix the bug but they have no clue what the frick is going on
>It's caused by dumb design choices made by Bethesda for oblivion
Such is many cases.
just more reason to hate oblivion
OP weapons given automatically to every character is stupid as frick no matter how little you have to crack open your wallet to get them
It really adds to the irony of Obsidian dickshlurpers going on and on and on about NV being an "RPG"
It's a preorder bonus that the men with the money mandated. Those weapons aren't part of the game, they're just a mod you paid money for.
So you can buy the intelligence upgrade before you hit lv 2, maxing your level up gains.
Never felt the need to do this. You can use drugs and skill mags to cover most deficiencies.
>OP
The only OP weapon there is the merc grenade rifle, and that still gets replaced about half way through the game. The really OP shit is some of the armor you get.
Armored Vault 13 Jumpsuit can carry me all the way to level 10 at least. It is pretty ridiculous.
>Pay to win
>In a single player game
ever seen the dlc list in a singleplayer ubisoft title?
I always found this argument moronic as frick. The only way it would be pay to win is if:
A) it gave you an unfair advantage against other players
Or B) the game was designed so that the average player would need the DLC to win.
I always do this on my new playthrough, it might need some save scumming, but it's completely doable with a stealth boy to sneak through the Deathclaw area and run to Vegas. Though I only do this to reach the clinic earlier to install the INT implant to get extra skill points on level up and then I go back to Goodsprings and take the long road on foot. because I'm a filthy minmaxer.
At that point you might as well just give yourself +1 int with the console
>that you are going to have a bad time.
>being filtered 12 years after the game released
Just transition and have a nice day already.
Or skip to the 2nd part immediately.
Here's all the ways of getting to new vegas I can think of in no particular order
>Cripple cazadores' wings and outrun them
>Do the revolver dash
>Retrieve a stealth boy from Joe Cobb's corpse/pocket
>Retrieve a stealth boy from Goodsprings Schoolhouse safe
>count on IRL luck and get a stealth boy from victor's shack
>Abuse pathfinding on cliffs
Boone as a recognized war criminal can ride the train free of charge, together with a friend of choice.
Most basic strategy
10,9,7 only, Jacks and kings for screwing with enemy
alternatively braindead strategy, 10's and 6's only, Kings to double 10's, 6 for finisher.
alternative of that is 10's and 8's where you double 8's
All cards in equal proportions.
Here's fun stuff:
Only use specific suits, add aces of suits you're not using, then jokers.
Play jokers on aces to wipe the board clean of that suit. for example, joker on ace of hears removes all hearts except for that ace it was played on.
Jokers to remove specific cards, joker on a 10 removes all 10's except for the one it was played on.
I just sneak past them with IRL luck, couldn't imagine counting on the game to save me, gay.
Just take the path up to the strip from Black Mountain. You can do it without running into any enemies on the way from Goodsprings besides a couple of radscorpions.
imagine meta gaming in a roleplaying game lol
It's a roleplaying game. Your character can have any number of reasons for wanting to visit Vegas as soon as possible.
>you can't role-playing as someone reckless enough to risk death by massive insect for the sole purpose of reaching the gun runners to arm yourself for your revenge quest
If you were truly roleplaying your recklessness would take you straight to the grave
but since you're metagaming, you're just running a tightrope around all the dangers that your character has no way of knowing exists
>decide to walk past enemies using a stealthboy you found in the starting town.
>metagaming
Would my unskilled, unequipped character just run in a straight line through all the enemies?
No, he'd study the area and the threats and weave around them to get to his destination.
Why would a mailman not be a familiar with the routes around the place he delivers mail at
why does the mailman need to ask Easy Pete who the NCR are?
>Leave Goodspring, head left at Jean's instead of going right to Primm
>Hidden Valley, kill some Barks and Centaurs
>Go through Black Mountain
>Kill 2 very easy super mutants
>Free path to Vegas
it's that easy
Now do it without any fights.
Easily
>grab stealth boy from Victor's house
>go to hidden valley, avoid, run past scorpions
>go to neil's shack
>activate stealth boy and get past the super mutants or the deathclaw that's roaming at the foot of the mountain
>you're in vegas
You can even do that without stealth boy if you're willing to safe scum.
Better. Except that blind Deathclaw WILL get you. Combat with that thing is practically inevitable. Which does mean the stealthboy. But just by following the train tracks around, you don't need to deal with it. Plus you can pick up Chopper on the way. All without ever triggering Lv 2. Otherwise, why even crawl to Vegas?
Because you're roleplaying, not metagaming.
Smells like bullshit. If you're going to RP, why are you even meta-gaming in the first place? And then complaining about it? lol get fricked.
I'm not the one complaining about it. I don't care what people do and there can almost always be an in-character reason for doing anything, even metagaming, but if you're going to get the implant for the express purpose of maxing your skill gains, that's clearly metagaming.
Of course it is. As it is sneaking around grabbing stealthboys and making beelines past high level enemies. In this case, the meta being previous knowledge of the game.
Allow me to amend my previous statement:
Because you're roleplaying, not expressly metagaming.
Not every character will have good reasons to sprint to the Clinic, but plenty can have reasons to go to Vegas quickly.
We get it, you're a elite haxx0r snip3r 360 noscope gamer and have read the walkthroughs on how to pass through the north instead of the south.
It still railroads everyone who plays for the first time without reading about it. It was the intended and designed experience. They collectively decided that they want to force the player to follow a predetermined path instead of having a truly open world.
I really like how nv guides you.
On one hand it's an open world and on other hand you have a set path that you will 100% follow on your first playthrough and get to know all factions and overall state of things in Mojave.
Just like the first 2 games.
Just like most crpgs, actually.
but not like fo3 or 4, sir
>second or third playthrough
>try to follow the outer edges of the map
>not really paying attention to compass
>keep getting turned back inwards without realizing
Once you realize it, it becomes obvious, but for the average playthrough it works wonders.
stand aside
and failing this, you can just get the stealth boy from the safe in the Goodsprings schoolhouse and stroll straight up the highway
Or just, frick I dunno. Follow the train tracks.
Neat thing I know
1) Wait till midnight
2) Stand in between the graves at Goodsprings cemetery
3) Shit bricks
you can hear whispers next to any grave not just in goodsprings
Outside of Goodsprings and Nellis, I don't remember cemeteries anywhere else in the game? Individual graves don't trigger the sound
idk i remember hearing them next to the two graves outside the cave that starts the honest heart dlc
There's graves all over the place. A few around the Memorial by Goodsprings and Chance's Grave at the Khan camp, for example
There's a bunch by bitter springs
do they actually say anything?
Just a myth
If it's your first time don't go north, instead head east following the roads. The graveyard is fine you should actually check it out at night and keep an ear out.
its been such a long time since i started vanilla i forgot about all obstacles.
Basically there are rad scorpions down below, and you might not be able to fight them yet.
I fought a scorpion on my way to the cemetery. Guy didn't cause too much trouble
That was probably a little scorpion. The ones in your image are big boys.
That was a bark scorpion or a small radscorpion.
Doesn't shovel have the knock down power attack? Even a lvl 1 scrub can keep a giant radscorpion on the ground for beatings
provided your melee skill is 50+ of course
Obsidian put high level enemies in strategic locations just to troll bethesdrone Pajeets
Big dick chads who actually know how to play games know how to deal with them
>Haha, my favourite game's design isn't shit -- it's actually smart! You are just too dumb to understand how all these flaws are actual positives, dumb moron.
you can scrounge enough stealth boys in the starting town to make it all the way to vegas
combat isn't the only solution to problems in a good RPG
1 Stealth boy on Joe Cobb
Potentially 1 more in the duffel bag in the Goodsprings Cave
???
1 in the safe in the school house
1 in the gas station safe
Chet sells 1 more
Don't even need logan's loophole trait
That safe loot is random, just like the duffel bag in the cave. Can't rely on it too much
F5 + F9 :^)
>combat isn't the only solution to problems in a good RPG
Good to know that savescum gays are hiding behind this statement
random loot tables are a bad design, but it's inherited from bethesdashit
not enough hours in the day to fill eveything with unique loot
solution is reduce loot sources but that's again a complete rewrite of the game's framework
FNV is just a total conversion mod for FO3 like Enderal is for Skyrim
Imagine being this moronic...
Random loot tables are a core part of RPGs, with uniquely crafted and hand-placed loot being reserved for quest or legendary items. Fallout 1 + 2 having static containers with hard-coded loot was a deviation that allowed the games to be easily broken and cheesed. Luck was and should always play a role in any good RPG.
The only thing that's worse than randomness in this regard, is level locked loot. So in a way bethesda committed the ultimate sin in making randomness unexciting and loot boring. You can't salvage that in a day.
you remind me of a guy who told me chess is random because you cant know move your opponent will make
well that's moronic
my post isn't moronic
that means you're moronic
>That safe loot is random
Stealth Boy is always there
>this game about a dangerous wasteland shouldn't ever pose a danger to the player
I think I get it. They're just really big Oblivion fans.
>Can't have the player encountering any challenge in their adventure. Leveled enemies everywhere! What do you mean this ruins the integrity of the game's world and renders any of the player character's choices meaningless?
To be fair most normalgay's first exposure to the franchise was oblivion with guns, so being confronted with worldbuilding that isn't completely separate from the game mechanics and structure is a foreign concept.
They just played those games because that's what was out when they were children and they never bothered to try any other seminal RPGs that came before to get an understanding of how much more the genre can be.
Ironically, even Bethesda's own earlier games can show you much of that.
level scaling is unironically the best way
>integrity of the game's world
fricking lmao, there's zero "integrity" to being able to oneshot one kind of human because you've killed 100 humans, but being completely powerless against another type of human because you haven't killed 1000 humans yet
I'm not going to talk to you anymore. You're a moron with bad taste and worse ideas.
Not that anon but at level 1 you can probably fight a high level person no problem provided you have a strong enough weapon to pierce their armor. Weapon skill is just the abstraction of getting better at utilizing the tools in question, with is acquired through experience. Hence experience points.
>Oblivion
This is not a good example.
Auto levelling in oblivion just don't work.
Using any non-combat skills just causes you to regularly encounter more deadly enemies.
In short, if you're running around brewing potions you're now going to get killed instantly because oblivion still had some rpg elements.
I'm talking about the intention, anon.
Skyrim is the same way. If you work on smiting and enchanting without using any combat skills throughout you'll be very underpowered
You'll be fine if you're abusing the loop though.
Skyrim is much less rpg and what skills you have don't matter much.
Yeah oblivions leveling system was really shit too. Oh you have to grind a bunch of skills or you won't get the max amount of attribute points! So much nostalgia for oblivion but man it has some really shit mechanics.
why bee line for vegas anyways
go get boone and walk up the freeway and take the tram into the city. skip the credit check, skip paying for a passport, simple as.
You need good ncr rep for boarding the tram though
I don't want to drag along a whole piece of armor just to slip in and out of the station
you only have to do it once, once you get in the city you can leave and the securitrons at freeside don't care anymore
>You need good ncr rep for boarding the tram though
You just need their faction armor or simply sneak past the dudes at the door, nobody cares on the other side since you're exiting and not entering
I thought the faction armor didn't do shit because it would reset your rep to neutral.
bump
TES and Fallout aren't timeless. No, mods do not inject new life into it. Move on. It's been out for over 10 years. They're done. You finished them. There's nothing else to do on your 100th RP playthrough.
You are a dumb moron who cannot imagine an apple in their head
>mods do not inject new life
The fact that the oldest of the games are still getting mods would disagree with this assessment. And I'm not talking low energy retextures; most are still getting full blown quest mods. Why does the idea of these games actually being effectively endless distress you, anin?
DOOM is almost 30 years old and still gets mods
Doom is a different beast, it has compartmentalized level based gameplay.
Consolehomosexual
>There's nothing else to do on your 100th RP playthrough.
TTW says hi
I am playing new vegas vanilla no dlc on a base PS3 and its still a good fricking game. It's insane how often I can come back to it in its many forms and still have fun.
Here's a good alternative to the shitty vegas rush starts suggested ITT, try this if you haven't done melee before
>Acquire stealth boy in goodsprings elementary
>Head north past the cemetary to the tribal camp crawling with cazadores
>Best approach is to creep down the overlooking cliff face
>Stealth through the camp and grab Fire Axe from one of the corpses
>Beeline south to Mojave outpost and kill ants for the guy at the front desk to receive weapon repair kits
>Proceed as normal with fully repaired late game weapon at level 5
I did like 5 rifle playthroughs before I tried this and it was the most fun I had with the game, a majority of humanoid enemies will be crippled in one power attack from this thing and melee attacks have a tendency to hit enemies arms when they're pointing a gun, crippling their arms makes their weapon go flying so it pretty much feels like you're smacking people's weapons out of their hands and then decapitating them. Highly recommend.
If you go to the repconn site at novac and kill Davidson (the nightkin that isn't hostile) you can get a bumper sword, and that 1-shot every humanoid enemy I tested it on.
>melee build in a firearm heavy game
You INT is like 2
but your big brass balls are a 9
I'm thinking of making a boxer character one of these days and just going to town on enemies. The unarmed techniques you can learn are actually extremely useful both offensively and defensively (it's to a point where I always carry a unarmed weapon around with me so I can pull off the ranger takedown)
unarmed is actually broken and it's the most fun way to play
I know it's broken, but I typically enjoy using shotguns, revolvers, and really cool melee weapons.
melee is unironically one of the most overpowered builds
just wear some heavy armor, overdose in chems, and watch as those 50 deathclaws get juggled around
right behind explosives that is, though explosives have a bad tendancy of killing you in the process
I killed myself so many times with the missile launcher in NV when I got sick of combat lmao
>just wear some heavy armor
FNV is a light armor game. Light gets all the best perks. There's absurdly tanky light armor that makes power armor pointless.
Joshua "still less of a cuck than MCA" Sawyer agrees, for it's obvious even to his thicko ass.
For melee extra movement speed + extra crits is great.
What light armor do you like? I've been using Joshua Grahms the whole time I love the crit bonus plus I wear Boones beret.
I know you want to make a stealth archer anon, but melee is definitely broken in FNV. Running up to people who are shooting you might seem stupid but you can teleport to the nearest target with VATS. It's not pretty but it's abusable.
> Not grabbing Chance's Knife literally on this exact path.
> Not-crit stabbing your way to the airport to get Knock-knock, the unquie axe.
3/10.
Caravan strategies?
Currently I've been using only spades diamonds and hearts in my deck, because if you use the same suit of card you don't have to follow that increasing/decreasing rule. Also I don't play with queens.
someone actually plays it?
Currently I've won 4000+ caps from it. I've won 6 games so far and lost 0.
I play it when I make Luck-based Happy Merchant characters who want to break all the Casinos over my leg and make a fortune that rivals Mr. House's.
Does luck stat even do anything for caravan? It may as well do nothing for roulette as it's implemented
No, it doesn't. Caravan is a mostly skill/strategy based game.
No, but it does when you're playing in the Casinos, and I only play Caravan when my goal is to make all the money.
The idea of leaving the entire Vegas region penniless is funny to me.
For me, a normal 52 card deck plus 2 jokers
Actually makes you think how to play
Meta decks are all mindless because the game is poorly thought out
No
Playing NV right now, I'm going for an NCR playthrough. Currently I've taken care of nelson and cottonwood cove.
I'm doing a BoS-turned Legion playthrough. Shot at the NCR too many times, and House is a technological abomination, so I guess it's off to Caesar
Bros... Is there ever gonna be a tutorial that's as good as goodsprings?
The plywood yacht in 2016 hitman was ludo.
it was fricked up in the next two games.
>Add some quest mods
>They add incredibly long, linked, and labyrinthine dungeons that have so many paths and doors it's impossible to remember where I've even been before.
I'm also sitting on so many caps I could buy the entire wasteland multiple times over because I have an addiction to looting and selling shit in games. And I have nothing to spend any of it on.
>the mod dungeons never account for the fact that pipboy cannot properly display maps of areas with more than one vertical plane so the samey looking cave system is completely unnavigable
>the only building in vanilla with that issue is King's School of Impersonation
:^)
Looks good to me
>let's reuse the exact same story for 6 games
>no let's not make an actual cool game with playable ghouls or mutants
frick you
Remember Fallout Online?
somehow i completely missed that, learning about it now though, shame
It was never going to actually happen, man. Not worth lamenting.
Remember Van Buren?
kino lost
I remember the initial concept of getting into this space station, B.O.M.B. i think it was called. There's this iteration of Joshua Graham in it but he's unstable as frick that he'll insult everyone if he accompanies you.
>fo3pajeet gets banned
>for once in years several good fallout threads have been delivered this past two days
its like i'm in a dream, its surprising how one autistic sperg can completely frick up threads to such a degree
What was his deal anyway? Was he being genuine or shitposting?
It's likely he did like FO3, but over NV is debated. He was doing it to troll people and unfortunately other homosexuals thought "yeah, that's funny" and started doing it too. That's why for the past 2-3 years it's been impossible to have a good fallout thread.
As someone who only occasionally went on threads it was pretty funny, especially early on with all the todd edits.
It was funny for like, 4 minutes. You are genuinely a moron if you find it funny with how long it was spammed. At its peak like 10% of Ganker was people spamming that shit.
well I didn't browse Ganker constantly and even then I rarely visited fallout threads because I played the games to death. But I feel for you if you just wanted genuine conversation about either game.
considering how mentally fricked most of this site has become i can no longer tell
I think the real pajeet has left and it was some other moron with genuine brain damage that tried to impersonate him and make le ebin trole attempts
I wonder how would sawyer feel playing frontier.
The original pajeet (the one posting in all caps all the time) was definitely unironic and clearly moronic
People picked up his style because being moronic is easy (You)s
Basically in spite of his obvious moronation he's a god tier troll because people can use him bait verbatim and rusatle everyone's jimmies
yeah he was a brute force troll for the ages
as genuine as a literal moron with a superiority complex can get
he shits up threads for things other than fallout too
more like range banned right? I think they were constantly evading
You guys are aware you can just walk through Hidden Valley and just sneak around a couple super mutants then take the route up past the wounded NCR soldier through the chasm with the falling boulder and get to the NCR safehouse right?
You can get to Vegas while ignoring all combat and only having to sneak around 2 super mutants without having to abuse AI or hug cliff edges. All quite easily.
yeah
I have literally never used the Primm path to vegas. You can sneak past the deathclaws and you can shoot the giant fly things. This game is easy as frick.
Not my first time playing the game but playthrough doing it hardcore and having a surprising amount of fun with the difficulty. Had to just abandon that one dog companion quest because he kept dying and I am actually looking over my shoulder for legion all the time. I bet the game is easy though if you just rush to the fastest way to complete it though.
devilish
No, its not easy and you can't do shit to kazadores with your starting gear.
Too much autism about straight up rushing to vegas. What for? So you can finish the game in 14 hours by just doing the main quests? There's nothing else in vegas really, the journey from goodsprings to the city sets up the context for the story.
meh
Maybe you're overthinking it
It's that simple gamer reptile brain wanting to get something or to something that the game doesn't want you to reach early.
guess we're looking for different things in games. For me it's more about the journey that the dev intended and not the actual mechanics and boundaries of the game itself.
Yeah I'm sure all of us did that the first time we played the game and a lot of us now like to go about it differently on repeated playthroughs.
Personally I like getting a rifle pretty early on like around Primm and spinning back around and trying my luck against the Cazadores. s'pretty fun.
I like stretching out my arrival to the Strip for as long as possible, so it really feels like I had to journey there. Getting to Freeside and working my way through all it has to offer before finally hitting the Strip and starting the big league political shit is fun.
they wanna get rich from savescumming the casinos as soon as possible
>savescumming
just have 10 luck bro
Also, don't forget to grab Chopper, the unique, uhh, chopper, from the Wolhorn Ranch while you're sneak scumming your way to Vegas. Strictly speaking, Ratlslayer isn't that far from there either, but those rats are no joke.
The rats are easy if you have frag mines but yeah they are deadly.
Test
Nope.
post your fnv waifu/husbando
mine is arcade, he's too cute
I always make a beeline for her every playthrough, even if she doesn't fit the run. I don't know why, but I love her.
>gungay comes in with his fetishization
alright
I wish we could get new fallout in mexico from at least somewhat competent studio (Not by bethesda for sure)
Got the urge to play this game, turns out it was already installed with this thing set up lol.
Is it even worth playing? I'm not that far in (wading through the city with the tank). Seemed interesting so far.
I've never played it, but no.
No.
It's not as bad as frontier but it's still fan mod in its worst sense.
How can I get the game to run at 1440p? I can only choose up to 1080p
have you tried using the mod that makes it use Vulkan?
The what now?
https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/76432
I don't know if it will help. I just know that it has to do with rendering the screen, so I thought maybe it could.
Never had such a issue
you sure your computer isn't fricked?
Works on my machine
Straight up just type 2560x1440 into the resolution area of the launcher.
>mods that add all sorts of new combat techniques but do nothing to buff the shitty enemy AI
Get fricked
>This mod makes combat more engaging!
>You just die quicker
you're talking about mods that don't exist
Does anyone have a mega with HD wasteland clothing that some homosexual mod had removed everywhere?
How does Ganker feel about kNVSE? What's your favorite weapon animation mod?
vanilla is best
kNVSE is a godsend.
I don't really like this guy's animations though. The only I use of his are those That Gun animations. all his anims have this weird artificial quick camera shake on most actions with the gun during the reload.
Rockbiter's stuff is pretty good. His laser Rifle and R91 anims are my favourite
>Tell Veronica to stay with the Brotherhood then blow up the bunker
>Have Boone shoot his friend then give him to the White Gloves and have them join the Legion
>Sell Arcade into slavery and have the Remnants fight for the Legion
>Shoot up the Gun Runners for their weapon schematics
>Convince Cass to go with the peaceful option, denying her of sweet revenge, then piss her off to make her leave you, shoot her in the back and slaughter the Van Graffs and Crimson Caravan yourself
>Tell Lily to stop taking her medicine
>Shoot Pacer in the face while wearing full NCR clothing
>Kill Bill and Jacob to stop their addiction problems
>Help the Omertas bomb the Strip
>Don't repair ED-E and smash him to bits
>Leave Raul at Black Mountain and kill Neil so that more supermutants will come there
>Give Keene the mark 2 prototype and tell Henry Lily should not wear it, then later kill Calamity
>Promise private Stone you won't tell on him for a share of the loot, then tell on him
>Turn on Helios' security system and choose emergency output to render the plant inoperable
>Activate the Weathers' bomb collars
>Tell Frank to kill himself
>Tell Janet to just run to the Boomers right away
>Tell Raquel all the ants are dead (they're not)
>Tell Lindsay mr Cuddles is dead
>Get Melody's teddy and then rip it in front of her
>Disconnect House and leave him there
>Destroy the Securitron bunker
>Fire a mini nuke on Kimball
>Bomb the Monorail then kill Curtis
>Tell the Khans they suck dick and have them suicide bomb the dam
>Shoot Ulysses in the head with an epxlosive .50 MG before he's even allowed to speak, then nuke both NCR and Legion
>Kill Caesar, join Yes Man and destroy the dam's generators
>Leave the Mojave behind, travel to Zion and impregnate Waking Cloud several times over
>Shoot Ulysses in the head with an epxlosive .50 MG before he's even allowed to speak, then nuke both NCR and Legion
but this Black person has like 3 million HP, there's no way you can one shot him because i tried
He didn't say he one-shot him. He said he shot him before he was allowed to speak.
nvm you can one-shot him just like he described lol, should have done this, frick this boss
I hate Chris Avellone like you wouldn't believe
This kills the laniusgay
Yeah the Legion can overwhelm Boomers and the Brotherhood of Steel but somehow they can't do the same with 4 old men in outdated power armor. That's so stupid.
>all these morons who bought the meme that New Vegas has good writing
All 3d Fallout games are shit and Fallout 2 was a massive step down from 1

No one except a few autists play Fallout 1.

fallout 1 is the best in the series by a wide margin
for me? its knock knock
Two Step Goodbye
>its another episode of VATS glitches out leaving you standing there for a few seconds at the end, resulting in you exploding and nearly dying instantly when vats finishes
Ah a man of culture who enjoys playing with 5 crippled limbs for extra damage
It just works.

Old Glory. Stealth crits take down deathclaw mothers and alphas.
I used Lucky for the longest time but since I recently finished slogging my way through Honest Hearts, I now love the Light Shining In the Darkness
.45 ACP strong
Dinner Bell
>not a single comment on this extremely based arby n the chief reference
Zoomers are truly fricking everywhere
>All American
>Dinner Bell
>Knock-Knock
>Lil' Devil
>Nades for good measure
one of my favorite runs
using a mod to put attachments on special weapons makes it even better
>reinstall fallout new vegas
>awful flickering LOD textures
>wtf? it wasn't like this before
>as it turns out this just happens to people sometimes and nobody knows why and there's no fix
awesome, now I get to stare at a cancerous eye sore in the distance while I play
the only way to increase gamebryo draw distance leads to save file corruption and crashes
welcome to bethesda games
there are placebo draw distance values that decrease performance without actually increasing draw distance
thanks Todd
use xLODGEN
I did, I generated LOD based on Viva New Vegas's LOD instructions. Thinking about uninstalling the mods that need a new LOD and just using Vanilla LOD.
Bethesda game engine is just something incredible.
There are just so many fricking "well it happens and there's nothing you can do about it" bugs.
There's an NPC east of Novac that's normally dead. However, one time as I went there, I could see he was alive but as soon as I got within a certain distance, the model lost its rigging and the mesh just collapsed into an expanding flesh pile. When I backed away, it sucked itself back up into a regular NPC again. I could repeat this by just walking back and forth. Was hilarious.
> the model lost its rigging and the mesh just collapsed into an expanding flesh pile
I love when this happens
one of my favorite things in fallout is how you can throw a grenade and then shut a door on whoever is on the other side

Tale of Two Wastelands I guess
The FO3/NV mashup mod
No Jury rigging?
I like the hand loader perk you get with 70 repair I never made my own ammo before my last playthrough because I thought it was tedious but with the hand loader + EDE you can make really strong ammo. The magnum buckshot is nice, get the dinner bell + magnum + knockback and you can kill anything easily it's fun knocking back death claws.
being able to make your own .50 cal AP/Explosive is pretty neat if a bit expensive
coin shot is satisfying
Don't think you can make your own explosive .50 BMG you must be using a mod but you can get make the match ammo which is stronger than AP.
Finally going to start Old World Blues for the first time
what should I know before going in
Is it going to inventory restrict me again like Honest Hearts?
old world blues actually has a player home so you really don't need to worry about your carry weight going into it
So far I've been using Nipton as my player home and I've shoved maybe a full indiana jones tier warehouse into that small safe by now. It takes minutes to scroll through the whole thing and I'm kind of worried if I ever lose it all somehow.
Nah if I remember you get to keep your weapons and get a nice hideout. It's a pretty good DLC it's has a very comedic tone which I liked at first but it got kinda old. I don't think I'm going to play it on my current playthrough it does give you some really strong perks though.
god damn it you guys you can't do this to me, I'm like 70% through my replay of fallout 4 and now you have me wanting to replay new vegas for literally like the 12th time
I haven't even touched 4 yet
Maybe some day
I can only get like 25% of the way through fallout 4 the story and characters are just so fricking lame. Does it get better later? Is the institute a well done evil faction like the Legion? I liked the game play and exploring was a lot of fun. Factions are just moronic though maybe I'll start a playthrough so I can murder all the minutemen.
It really doesn't
I did one character over the course of the release to last DLC and it was so fricking boring.
Every time I tried a new character it was the same shit with barely any differences.
I even tried to play it again recently with mods and nothing fixes the broken base game.
I fricking hate Bethesda why can't they hire a half decent writer? Well I was thinking of reinstalling it but I guess that's gonna be a big nope. I can't even kill the fricking minutemen homosexuals what's the point. The writing seems to be getting progressively worse for their games I can't imagine what kind of shit they are going to try to pull with ES6. Are women the problem?
the lead writer is to blame, emil pagliarulo
the guy has a very cartoonish style to his writing
the bad guys are completely evil unless you're actually moronic (see Institute), then you have people like the minute men who are so unbelievably good given the world they live in you'd almost assume they have some secret agenda
>Is the institute a well done evil faction like the Legion?
No, institute is like think tank but more inept and without any real reasoning behind
>Murder all the minute men
They're all essential NPCs.
>Is the institute a well done evil faction like the Legion?
>Does it get better
>is the institute well done
Lad they don't even know why they do anything
i played the game 3 times now and i still don't quite know why the frick they do the shit they do
so no
if you don't enjoy the gameplay then just quit while you're ahead, the story in it is really bad
i hear far harbor is better but i can't take the story of 4 seriously at all so i never managed to finish it, i think the main story really kills any sense of believability in the world
if you do enjoy the gameplay loop then check out 76, if it runs okay on your pc then it's worth your time. i recently got it for like 8 bucks at a key site and i'm really enjoying my time with it, the map is way more interesting, the places too, my only issue is the same i have with 4, that being that most of the map feels fricking dead, compared to NV at least, but the places are way more interesting to explore than in 4, imo
>tell myself I'm going to do something other than a crit cowboy build for this playthrough
>end up making yet another crit cowboy build
I would love to use TTW to replay fallout 3, but there is so many damn fallout 3 mods that don't work with the new version of ttw yet, and the fallout 3 mod scene is so dead they may never get updated for it.
isn't the process of porting mods relatively simple
Are there any new big quality quest mods? I finished a play through around summer last year and I've been itching to do another one after I'm done with my current F4 horizon one. I liked th3overseer's mods but it seems he stopped due to some nexus drama. So, are there any other big quest mods that have released over the past year?
Havasu blues is nice for a 1 man project who started off with 0 knowledge of geck.
>mangled denari have the same value as 5 NCR dollars
Poetic.
Crimson Factory redux I'd recommend if you're looking for something of a 2-4 hour shitpost dlc mod that's still pretty fun. It's not polished whatsoever, the humor is just whatever the author finds funny, and lots of areas are minimally changed dlc zones, but its SOUL incarnate
It feels like the only way to enjoy Fallout4 is to strip out the entire MQ and play FROST or some horror overhaul with survival mode.
No idea if there's any good quest mods but I can't bother to reinstall and try any
be thankful it's a natural filter
the alternative is mass exposure and jon quitting out of shame
Nuking the NCR and the legion is the only correct choice
Anything above normal difficulty is a waste of time
Am I autistic if I enjoy Dust's playthrough more than vanilla? I even tweaked the values on my modded playthrough to make it close to Dust
>Reduced max HP to 200
>Reduced carry weight to 50 (strength only gives you a +10 bonus)
>Used console commands to reach level 40 so that every enemy is at that level (but I don't increase my skills or choose perks that affect combat, just dialogue ones)
>On top of it, playing with BLEED and Economy Overhaul to make caps harder and avoid getting rich by selling raider weapons early
*Dust's gameplay
