You gotta define what you want more than just “pure” and “not metroid or castlevania”.
Master of Darkness and Kid Icarus.
A pure platformer would be a game that focuses the vast majority of its gameplay around the jumping and/or the platforms. Usually there would be different kind of jumps possible or have some momentum, and most of everything is solve through the jumping.
For instance Adventure Island, even though you do get power ups to shoot at stuff, those are just temporary bonuses (like the flower in SMB), they're not the chore of the gameplay, which is using your various possible jumps to overcome the enemies and platforms.
Castlevania is like 10-20% platforming, Mega Man is like 50%.
What about puzzle elements? Is Wario Land 2 a pure platformer? What about games with “gimmicks” almost everly level like DKC2? I think SMB3 and Sonic 2 would be my favorite that really fit the criteria. For 3d platformers it gets even harder. In collectathons like Banjo Kazooie or DK 64 the main focus is hardly on jumping. Even in Mario 64 there are levels where little to no jumping is required. Crash runs through whole levels with only a jump or two. Croc maybe? I suppose Ninpen Manmaru on the saturn oddly enough is the closest to a “pure” 3d platformer. It has no attack and is basically a tank-controls linear jumping obstacle course, but its not as good as the others I listed.

I can't think of many levels where that'd be true. Even the auto scrollers have tons of jumps.
I think your description defines jumping flash for ps1 pretty clearly.
