Why do we even like that mod?
The devs are just yet another discord cult of autists.
They don't even respect lore as they say they do, most things they come up with are total bullshit (ebonheart city), sometimes even completely missing the subtle loree implications (Tarhiel being an imperial and not a telvanni).
Not to mention most of their new models are akward, and most new creatures look like from a bootleg version of star wars (water striders, wtf). Yes, it's all cherry picking, I know, but i still think they are overrated and have a reddit tier writing.

      >Not to mention most of their new models are akward, and most new creatures look like from a bootleg version of star wars
To be fair most creatures in Morrowind look like the bootleg version of something. Like the Nix Hound, what the frick is that even? A mix between a horse and a stag beetle, that sucks blood?

Nix hounds are pure kino, just like silt striders. They are giant bugs that are otherwise identical to hounds. They were created by Vivec to hunt the dreugh long time ago (which is total Vivec bullshit btw).

If you find yourself asking that question, you might've stumbled upon something that's actually original and creative.

Is there a way to dedicate years of your life to a 20 year old rpg without being autistic

Most of the good rock bands had one autist and then three or four other guys who were mostly in it for the pussy. The modding scene is like that except instead of pussy they want internships.

I mean, there's nothing really wrong with using your mods to get into the an industry you obviously like enough to develop shit for free. Emphasis on YOUR mod.

The worst part is that they want to portrayal the house Dres like a feminist matriarchal society ruled by vampires, which is nonsense. They got all this bullshit from a book in which a dress spy worked for a vampire (a game at dinner), but that book was literally written by a political rival of house dress and a known liar, so it's obvious that the book is just a slander. Holy frick how can they be so dense? Worst part is that if you tell them this they would probably just ignore you, because they are not as open as they say they are.

I hate this kind of shit so much.
What do hyperliteral morons even get out of TES lore? Most of it is extremely boring if you don't understand the perspectives at play.

In terms of discord cults, it's at least less cancerous than OpenMW.
And neither remotely compare to shit like Skywind.

What kind of cult can there around a game engine? The only problem someone can have is the fact not all lua mods work there, but no one but the most extreme autists - bordering non-verbal kind - uses mods like 'Painting in Morrowind.'

Maybe because it’s just because TR is older, but I find the PT stuff more well thought-out and designed.

      >Why do we
There is no "we". No one in this hellhole of a board agrees on anything and every single thread devolves into pointless insults and ramblings.
      >like the mod?
Because despite the obvious flaws you pointed out it has easily the best content ever made for Morrowind short of the vanilla main quest, with some of the questlines (Almas Thirr Temple) being good even compared with other rpgs, having a grasp of faction relations and politics few other projects match.
      >The devs are just yet another discord cult of autists.
Is a revolving door project with devs going in and out. There is no secrecy and little permanency too, with several senior devs retiring last year. Sure they have their goofballs and idiots, but the community is much more healthier than your typical Skyrim mod project.
      >The don't even respect the lore.
They do for the most part, but the issues you point out here are valid and genuine objections. Even still, the lore crafted for the factions, their relations and their dynamics is even superior to vanilla in most instances.
      >most of their new models are akward.
Only in the case of the old content (Telvannis, like the water striders).
      >reddit tier writing.
Some old quests have questionable writing, but not the case at all with the modern ones and, again, Almas Thirr is easily the best content ever produced for Morrowind. I understand reddit writing as unnecsarily preachy and filled with bad humor, both things TR lacks completely.

      >Feminist matriarchy.
Don't be disingenous: While the matriarchs are present, Dres is in no way or form "feminist" nor more equalitarian than the rest of the factions in vanilla. More important: The matriarchs are inmoral villains, so no reddit writing here either.

Yes, they are dump and are afraid people are gonna get mad if they integrate its content with the vanilla game, despite being an optional mod.

I've found the content gives me a little bit of that first time morrowind feeling again. They have their own interpretation of the lore but I haven't encountered anything too out there in my play time.

New optional content is always worth it.
I'm currently playing through it and so far the quests were at least as good as the original ones.
Recently did a quest for the Temple where I had to deliver a message to Port Telvannis, cure some slaves and convince some commoners to support the Temple instead of the wizards.

I tried a new playthrough recently and almost all of the new quests in Dominions are broken for me. I remember playing some of the same quests on a previous playthrough and they worked fine. In this case, I had bugs with the lighthouse guy in Teyn and also in Teyn the girl who told her mother she was engaged. I have no idea if I have any other mod that conflicts with those scripts and I honestly have no will to go through all my mods and find that out.

Got an axe from the fighters guild in ebonheart called unending. It has some scripted magical property but I can't figure out what.

The axe buffs you with 30 strength when your silenced. I assuming it has different buffs for different negative magical effects.

Is it fine to install it on a first playthrough? I won't go to the places until I'm done with the main game stuff but it'd be nice to just have it there.

Probably better just to stick to vanilla for your first playthrough. Also TR is not end game, it's meant to be similar to Vvardenfell with areas of varying difficulty. It works better either on it's own or going back and forth between Vvardenfell and the mainland. Going at the end with a high level character means you'll roll through most of it without difficulty.

One positive about Tamriel Rebuilt is they seem to understand that all the guilds should give interesting magical rewards.
