because different writers handled different storylines
i hope the retard in charge of Paladin's "OH NO THE MONETARISTS STICK THEIR FINGERS IN OUR PIES, NOW MAKE THE OATHKEEPER SHINE FOR 5 SECONDS WARRIOR I HAVE THINGS TO DO" garbage never wrote again
Amaurot > Dead Ends > Ala Mhigo > Aetherochemical Research Facility > Praetorium for me.
You just can't beat Amaurot.
Though prioritizing replayability, probably Dead Ends on top. Amaurot gets ahead because I'm an Amauroboo. Dead Ends is probably more replayable and visually spectacular. Amaurot is basically the same scenery until the last boss.
Amaurot has really, really bad trash and the second boss is a complete wet fart. The First Beast is fantastic though and its difficulty is what i feel should be the standard for said dungeons. I actually ranked Dead Ends higher on bosses because its first and second bosses are both entertaining and they have teeth
Ala Mhigo is still great despite SOUL EXTRACTION ARF shows its age with its bosses being basically named trash and there being nothing threatening about them, and Praetorium, even with its revamp is still boring compared, the magitek armor section is its greatest strength
Amaurot > The Dead Ends > Aetherochemical Research Facility > Ala Mhigo > Praetorium
I would put Aetherochemical Research Facility at the very top if it was before the rework, actually. Just really, really good boss fights there in terms of mechanics.
all MSQ dungeons from ARR and HW did. ARR ones most, HW a bit.
Stormblood and beyond just got made duty support compatible I think, though. For better or worse.
>music
The newer the better, pretty simply >presentation
EW >= ShB > HW > SB >>>>>>>>> ARR >boss quality
EW > ShB > HW > SB > ARR
I don't even remember the SB bosses other than Zenos, but I'd guess they're better than the ARR bosses. Pre-rework I'd put ARR miles behind, but Prae got an improvement and SB probably got a downgrade with trusts >story wow factor
EW >= ShB > HW > SB >>>>>>>>> ARR >replayability
Like all dungeons, I don't want to do any of them after the first time
I'd rate similar to most but only on the basis that aetherochem (and honestly Lahabrea himself at this point) really needs ascian prime to be a separate fight, it's easily one of my favorite dungeons in the game aside from the last fight being a weird pseudotrial that could honestly be the first phase of Thordan instead considering how poorly that trial seems to age no matter how they rebalance it
sorry but the FFXIV guild drama was so fucking toxic because of the people it attracts that it destroyed my irl friend group, i'm going back to my giant shoulderpads and fat draenei titties in wow, thanks
A tank CAN solo the second boss pretty easily. The first one can pose problems because of the instant kill debuff, Hysteria, and stack marker. The first boss is one of the very few dungeon encounters where a healer actually has to do anything so it fucks a lot of people.
Are you an Y'shtolafag, an Estinienfag, or interested in an autistic Vampire D/Bloodborne character? If the answer is yes, you missed on some fanservice. if the answer is no, you really didn't miss out on anything because unironically the best part of the MSQ was just the fanservice moments.
The raids were cool though, and Tataru quest was a really nice revisiting of old npcs which was what I had hoped for the patches.
Buncha months.
The only real indicators we have of time passing are Yugiri saying the boat trip from Doma to Eorzea was 6 months, which is bullshit because it doesn't fit with the "Everything happened in under a year" narrative (but to be fair her boats sucked way more than ours and she was transporting way more people), and that Ryne was said to have the same age as the twins in ShB but now has 17 in the lore book, but that might just be because she's spent one more expansion on the First.
ARR takes place over about a month, with a small gap between ARR and HW when you're holed up with Haurchefaunt, Stormblood is about 6 months from start to finish with most of it being boat trips, shadowbringers takes about 2 weeks on the First but only a couple days on the source. There's a small time gap while waiting for Krile to get you a Sharlayan visa. Endwalker itself takes a few weeks. There's a few month gap between 6.0 and 6.1, and 6.x is over about a month, mostly waiting for Y'shtola to divine the next piece of the puzzle and Cid to fix the scales and make the aether channeling devices.
I wouldn't be surprised if at least one is. The Source is fairly advanced, despite having Ascians press the reset button every now and then, so Shards with no calamities could definitely have made more progress than the Source.
I doubt it seriously matters. If I'm OT PLD and the MT has anywhere south of 60% HP there's a good chance I'll pop it when a buster is coming. That said, don't be surprised if the healers have tunnel vision and don't even notice your HP dropping, or scramble around in a blind panic to both hit you with every OGCD heal they have if it's a hefty hit.
To fit the MMO trinity while still making them sorta resemble their usual counterparts.
I'm resigned to having another mage just use green's name, but I was hoping for some concrete idea of what it was actually going to do to at least not feel redundant.
6.5 MSQ basically had the green mage symbol right in your face.
Yoshi-P's shirt could be a hint at green (because the turtles are green) or their ability Shell (because turtles have a shell) or both.
I ain't played since the second manderville phase, I have no idea what's going on in MSQ
Part of the conundrum with Green Mage is it doesn't really have an identity and they've only shown up in three games, all of which use the initial Tactics A2 job as a blueprint (comprised entirely of spells scalped from Black and White Mage's books; think of how Slow/Stop/Haste/Hastega usually goes to Black and White Mage if Time Mage isn't around). And two of the games it appeared in were mobile, Tactics S and Brave Exvius. It'll pretty much HAVE to be mostly original since its job identity is basically just the Protect spell.

Like I said, all that in consideration, I'd have no choice but to expect the unexpected with a green mage and how xiv works in general. I was hoping intern-kun fucked up somewhere yet and we have a clip or job icon to paint a picture.

Blufever got the living shit sued out of him for the Shadowbringers era leaks so sadly we don't have any leakers in Squeenix anymore. The closest we'll get is the official benchmark and media tour stuff.
They're not shy about debuffs if Machinist getting Dismantle back is taken into consideration
The issue therein is "what would Green Mage even DO for Debuffs when all of its shit was yanked from BLM and WHM?" and probably its main focus will be DoTs since Reaper and Sage both reused shit from Dragoon and Dark Knight
An idea I've rattled around in my head for Green Mage is they have types of DoTs unique to them, and the DoTs interact with each other, like an Oil DoT that slows and damages, but when a Fire DoT is applied the Oil is consumed and deals a large instant damage burst, and vice versa with applying Fire then Oil. And do things like an exploding DoT on a target spreads the DoT to nearby enemies.
I mean, it's a job that doesn't have a real reason to exist in the one game where it's present. That leaves room for them to just go hog-wild on making something entirely new out of it. Might get some things like Ivalice buffs too. Though really, I wouldn't be shocked to find out that it takes some or all of the DoT stuff SMN used to have and makes a dedicated job for the concept.
Still in guessing phase, supposedly the TMNT shirt at Fanfest was a hint towards both jobs. Dual swords was a hint towards Viper so I'd guess they're gonna take after Red Mage and make a more melee-ish caster using sai, a bo staff, or nunchucks
Iirc they have some onmyoji (thaumaturges) and geomancers (conjurer equivalent) but GEOs use bells in XIV and onmyo still use staves, technically Seiryu uses a jian sword
6.5 MSQ basically had the green mage symbol right in your face.
Yoshi-P's shirt could be a hint at green (because the turtles are green) or their ability Shell (because turtles have a shell) or both.
>a year from now, 8.0 is announced >turns out, while the WoL was busy taking a vacation, the eorzea alliance fell >the three city states are now opposing factions, you are given the option to pick allegiance between either your starting state or whichever grand company you belong to >open world pvp added >8.X updates will be written according to which faction is winning the war on average across all servers
>7.0 was sold as a FFXIV reboot that would fix everything >barely looks any different, everything else is exactly the same >BBUT LOOK AT THIS LALA'S CHIN
This is so fucking pathetic. CBU3 gotta be the laziest devs I've ever seen. 10 years later, three gens apart, and it still looks way worse than 1.0.
i'm interested in seeing why yoshida keeps harping on so much about 7.X being multiplayer focused. "no trusts for dawntrail dungeons or non-MSQ dungeons" is already a very interesting start
>"no trusts for dawntrail dungeons or non-MSQ dungeons"
You mean the MSQ dungeons or all dungeons? I'd find it wierd if they removed Trusts now all of a sudden after making such a big deal of making the MSQ playable solo (except for trials).
misremembered and mixed up two different pieces of information - dawntrail will not have any optional or non-necessary dungeons (all dungeons will be trust compatible), and they aren't going to build trusts for optional dungeons from previous expacs https://www-famitsu-com.translate.goog/news/202310/22321423.html?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=wapp

This. Dunno how Expert Roulette is gonna work. Maybe it'll be be the level 99 dungeon and 100 dungeon at first, or they're going wild and make you do two level 100 dungeons in the MSQ.

I think 7.X will have another Bozja again and probably even the non-combat content will be like Ishgard restauration with tons of people, but some people clearly are expecting way too much (again).
The chink streamer and others are parroting similar takes with no citation. Stating that "Yoshi-P said 7.0 will have an all new battle system!"
I genuinely don't know where they get these headcanons from.
I think what he said was something about how they're working on a new type of content, but they don't know if it'll be something like forays or something new entirely.
He mostly just said it's new "lifestyle content", which could mean a lot of shit from restoration to some new Diadem to multiplayer Island Sanctuary proper, and that it will be very multiplayer cooperation focused. As much as I'd like something experimental like, say, a Eureka take on an isolated region with Deep Dungeon setups that aren't instanced or some other shit, it's not gonna be an Eureka or Bozja probably.
I think he specifically mentioned battle content in interviews, but I don't fully recall. (I don't care about forays and such as much, anyway)

Dunno, actually. The auto-translate of that article only gives that impression.
Auto-translator: >However, we are currently in the process of planning a completely new type of battle content that has never been seen before. We are also discussing what to do with the next series of large-scale games that use the entire area, such as "Southern Bozya Front" and "Forbidden Land of Eureka", and we are planning to take on new challenges. As for Valiant Dungeon, please look forward to the producer's letter LIVE tomorrow (July 30 Japan time, the second day of the fan festival)!
Supposedly manually translated: >Naturally, we persist in our discussions and creative brainstorming for unique battle content. For large-scale battles like Eureka, we're still keen on creating content within that realm. We're committed to generating new challenges in this field. Please look forward to details regarding components of the Variant and Criterion Dungeons in tomorrow's Letter from the Producer.
Entirely different meaning. One implies they're right now planning a completely new type of battle content, while the other says that they discuss it more as a concept, and do so all the time. I think a lot of people who go by the auto-translated version will be disappointed if they take it as gospel.
It helps to have a 1.0 screenshot handy for this kinda thing (pic related taken from https://youtu.be/kbNLD7waYI4?t=169)
Note that jaggy clothing and ugly ground when viewed from close-up are still present, and the main graphical benefits over current 6.X are >better lighting >higher texture resolution on buildings, city features, etc. >better cutscene choreography and heavier use of foliage >belts and models for them
frankly 1.0's presentation is its key advantage, and most PCs could barely handle it in due part to shit like that dumb resolution scaling option that made no fucking sense. but peel back the shaders and better lighting, and you have a worse XI with high-poly assets and a different world that wasn't really as interesting or intricate as Vana'diel.
>elementals are capable of destroying the world if a gnat farts wrong in the forest >shadow ghost ascians need a pirate to grab a massively powerful artifact (enough that it was used to summon alexander in heavensward just to tie that plot thread off) off the shores of limsa for them because reasons >shadow ghost ascians in general >primals are true spirits or minor gods and capable of feats like resurrection, but lol you wouldn't have seen this anyways because titan and leviathan were shelved until 2.X for cultural sensitivity (earthquakes and tsunamis in japan at the time) >beastmen are naggers again just because XI did it >trying to hype up ala mhigo as eorzea's overall cultural center since it's close-by and under garlean occupation, but even 1.X does a poor job of giving any reason why anybody should really give a shit about it beyond the fact it's gaius's stronghold
1.0 looked good in selective areas (visually, not literally "areas" as in zones) and worse than ARR in others.
Whereas Dawntrail proves to just be an improvement to what is already there.
There was a discussion about umbral, astral, and unaspected magic last night and someone mentioned a retcon with umbral and astral.
What other retcons has XIV been through?

Ganker how do I get the rdm homosexual in my group to switch to a good job? He refuses to play anything else and it's causing our prog group to take longer than it should.
I liked G'raha. After a whole expansion of doing the Adoring Fan act, it's really starting to grind on me. He's got good faith to burn after how cool he was in ShB, but damn dude it's gonna run out some day.
I stopped liking G'raha when I realized that he really just said "adios and get fucked" to everyone who was by his side when he was The Exarch. Doesn't even bother to ask after Lyna of his own accord.
Cunt.
Oh yeah the Lyna thing was just fucking uncharacteristically cuntish of him. I don't blame him for leaving them because it's not like it was by choice, but the fact he needs to be reminded that they care about him and that he has an adopted granddaughter was fucking awful.
>I don't blame him for leaving them because it's not like it was by choice, but the fact he needs to be reminded that they care about him and that he has an adopted granddaughter was fucking awful.
Exactly. It's not that he left. He had to leave, and he can't stay by them or take them with. But the complete lack of care about or for them. Like he just used them and then, when his shiny hero popped up to sweep him off his feet, he basically dropped them like an anvil.
Distasteful.
I stopped liking G'raha when I realized that he really just said "adios and get fucked" to everyone who was by his side when he was The Exarch. Doesn't even bother to ask after Lyna of his own accord.
Cunt.
The one part in Endwalker I liked with him was during the Final Days part when he stopped being your #1 fan for a bit and remembered he is a 100 year old city leader and took charge to stop the people from panicking and making shit worse.
That scene was hilariously bad, he's just yelling generic "commands" at like 6 people while there's a monster chomping someone's head off right in front of him. I know exactly what the writers were thinking how the scene should go and they failed spectacularly to capture it that way.
I liked G'raha. After a whole expansion of doing the Adoring Fan act, it's really starting to grind on me. He's got good faith to burn after how cool he was in ShB, but damn dude it's gonna run out some day.
Honestly I wish the writing team had enough common sense to make more distinctions between the Exarch from the homosexual who just has his memories installed, Graha just plain doesn't have a hundred plus years of experience as a leader so him stumbling trying to present himself as such should be more pronounced
I like him but he needs something more after losing his job as crystal janny.
He needs a concrete job that comes with an identity of its own since he doesn't even really have one, probly Viper and you could delve deeper into his adventurous side for Dawntrail becoming less like the nerd he was in EW and more like the WoL he looks up to.
Just fucking give him back his bow, damn. It's such an obvious way to go about it. As he is right now he's just doubling down on what Y'shtola already does, and if they have him become a Viper we're just gonna have two expansion in a row where G'raha steals the trailer moment.
Nobody in the Scions is a fucking ranged dps. Give him back his fucking bow from the Crystal Tower raids. Say Tataru empowered it with crystals from the Crystal Tower so it has synergy with his unique powers.
>where G'raha steals the trailer moment.
I still have to wonder why G'raha of all people because he lolconjures aether weapons on a dime without ever specializing as a character. I get we can't make cutscenes to accommodate for different jobs (yet can accommodate for Scholar knowledge or being a Healer), but this spellcaster suddenly pulling out the fucking aetherpool sword and shield was still dumb as hell.
I feel like the whole idea that the Scions split and kinda squabble competitively in Dawntrail might be an interesting idea because it might be the start of them each starting to figure their specializations more. Right now they have a backstory, the shit they've learned over Shadowbringers (unless you're Alphinaud and thus since Heaveansward) and a class, and that's kind of it. A new era where they actually settle goals and figure on what they want to do now that their primary job is over can go a long way.
Their "specializations" have always been a clusterfuck. Thancred stopped being a rogue, Y'shtola stopped being a conjurer, and I'm pretty sure Urianger was supposed to be a thaumaturge, but he was kind of off doing his own thing. Not to mention Alphinaud being an arcanist. Estinien, and I guess Lyse, are the only ones who stuck with his specialty.

Thancred and Y'shtola mixed in their previous class abilities with the new jobs, it's why Thancred has stealth abilities as a GNB and Y'shtola attacks using all elements at once. >Urianger was supposed to be a thaumaturge
Arcanist. He had the exact same education as Alphinaud and Alisaie, just earlier. He's also the only who has actually just completely dropped his previous abilities, in Mothercrystal if you're healing he can go dps and you get a comment of him trying to remember how to.

I wish he still had a helmet but I think the devs know too that the Trueblood helmet is garbage in-game.
Just need to make a bigger distinction on the kind of nerds they are. The only "pure" nerd is Y'shtola because she's the only one that has enough passion for knowledge for knowledge's sake that she goes out of her way to seek it, so make her double down on that (honestly she already has) while Urianger focuses more on mystic and esoteric matters, and delivering insightful speeches like has already has so many times. Basically intelligence vs wisdom, or science vs spiritualism. They overlap slightly in this universe but that just means it's a reason for them to keep relying on each other while still having a clearly defined difference. Alphinaud and Alisaie haven't even really focused on their nerdism that much, Alphinaud is more concerned with being a diplomat, and Alisaie they've even retconned into not being a nerd at all by saying her field of expertise at school was basically sharlayan PE. G'raha is really just a nerd about things that happen to concern him personally, aka his heritage and the shards. And even his well of information on the shards ran out long ago. At this point he's educated, but he's not a dedicated nerd in the way Y'shtola and Urianger are. He didn't even like having to stay in studying and doing paperwork with Krile.
Which speaking of relying on each other, it'd be fun to see Alphinaud and Thancred work together as a diplomat + spy deal.
Oh and of course there's Krile. But I'm not saying anything about her until we see what she's doing this expansion.
When I think of nerdy I think of the role that's served in the dynamics of a conversation, not necessarily the things they do as individuals.
WHat you're saying is true that they focus on different things and that Y'shtola is a nerd among nerds but the essence of what happens during conversations is different perspectives of different nerds coming together.
Think of the dynamic between Hythlodaeus, Emet Selch and Venat and compare that to our group, they're all essentially nerds but only Hermes acts that way in terms of how conversations play out making them way more fun as characters.

>Think of the dynamic between Hythlodaeus, Emet Selch and Venat and compare that to our group, they're all essentially nerds but only Hermes acts that way in terms of how conversations play out making them way more fun as characters.
Tbqh I thought the entire dynamic between all of those characters was carried entirely by Emet-Selch.
You can't really say Hythlodaeus, Venat and Hermes had a dynamic between them because they barely even address each other enough to set one up. The entire thing came down to >Hythlodaeus likes to tease Emet. >Venat likes to tease Emet. >Hermes sees Emet raging and laughs nervously about it.
>where G'raha steals the trailer moment.

BIG SOFT TACOS, OH BIG SOFT TACOS, OH BIG SOFT TACOS, SO BIIIIIIIIIII-IG!
>XIV is such a theme park MMO that it can't really afford to spare time to fleshing out its world worth a damn with what feels like a living, breathing amount of detail
i'm not tryin to start shit but rather ruminating on how static things just feel once you're in that endgame grind now
It started with the PS3 in mind so I don't mind loading screens until they randomly take 2-3 times as long for no good reason. But the fields are just so empty unless you're either a gatherer or on Fates and Hunt Trains.
I don't hold it against the game, but if I have to answer the question "why does XIV not feel as immersive as it could", then that is a good example of why.
I can't take it anymore. This hurts too much. I am a tier 3 sub to her and I asked her multiple times to give FF14 a try.
But she always ignored my donations.
I am very sad right now, someone post Ryne.
The "Scion conflict" will be brought to an end when they see Juan's new outfit showing off pecs and everyone simultaneously agrees they want to rally behind those muscles.
It might also bring peace to the Tural political conflict, who knows.
if you don't like it even the tiniest bit by level 30 just quit and don't look back
alternatively if you can't handle a boring grind but you want to posture as an MMO oldfag and power-grinder, fuck off
the good story starts with Ifrit, it's just bogged down by mmo padding because the team never wanted to make ARR really feel like the game the expacs made it into
I know it was Titan and it came after IFrit, I just think the wine and cheese part of ARR was
the most memorable in how fucking vacuous can a task be for WoL. Even Y'shtola was like "What the fuck, why is this even a thing, you know we're trying to save the realm right".
>better part of a decade later in game updates >can still criticize the Champions for that dumb bullshit as they realize you really do hold a grudge for it
You literally can play through ARR and the first two expansions for free at your own pace.
There is no reason to seethe about "ugh i gotta get through x and y before I can.....-" because it literally costs you nothing.
>say MMO is bad specifically because it doesn't focus on the adventure and the playing the game with other people part, and exploring the world >ffxiv fags shit their pants

probably referring to shit like PSO2 and Monster Hunter and thinks games with hub town stuff are inherently shit, while considering anything with instanced content to be an immediate disqualification
It's kind of wierd they don't, but I'm just gonna assume they didn't want to potentially make the Elpis scenes come across as silly when Hermes' voice starts going insane and it translates into just faster WEEE OHHHs.
>is the guy interpreting g'raha's request to you to go back to the first as him completely ignoring his people. lol

lalafag mad because his cathusbando got told off
>the nummiest bait in the thread is the guy interpreting g'raha's request to you to go back to the first as him completely ignoring his people
But that's not what happens? G'raha doesn't tell you to go to the First, you agree with all the Scions and the only one who says something about the people there is Thancred asking that you say hello to Ryne for him. Then you come back, say the same to G'raha from Lyna, and he has the "Huh? ...oh shit, right." moment.
He's laser-focused on his bestie and hero, most all of the Crystarium NPCs tell you about the Exarch being a really weird guy who thinks he's more mysterious than he actually is, but they love him anyways.

That too, but I didn't mention it because I personally don't care for it. (I miss Hythloshadeus)

Yes. I am mad.
But also I guess it means I don't need to bother with the set.
Same goes for the Gaia set.
Undyeable, no hair tied with it, one-piecer.
Why is hair in this game such a bitch, man. I get they have to mostly design Viera/Miqote/Au ra to be able to support them, but it really baffles the mind that with dozens upon dozens of hairs, most of them look like shit even if you throw redraw/upscale mods and yet they are incredibly stingy about making new hairs despite how relatively simple asset-wise they are compared to whole pieces of armor and gear.
Not sure why they were stingy in the past, but I guess I can see why now with 7.0 on the horizon.
Since they're trying to get all fancy with the light direction crap.
I hope it doesn't mean we get fewer new hairstyles t b h. We already have a gigantic backlog as is.
>still hasn't disproven that g'raha dropped the people he supposedly formed personal relationships with like bricks >just get vaguepost in a spiteful and catty and dismissive way
Most intellectually honest and secure G'rahafag.
>demanding any other races
Viera and Hrothgar being untenable to the point that they can't even make proper hats for them at all has literally removed any future races from the board because they don't want to repeat any of this again.
and because they're lazy you're never seeing anything more than buttcapes, ear-removing hoods or circlets/faceguards, and other shit
Even as someone happy with FF14 and EW, I find it weird that CBU3 is so fucking up their own ass about the clipping shit with hats. So much shit already clips. Just let viera and hrothgar ears stick through or whatever.
the thing is if you're a Miqo'te, torso and head pieces are altered to accommodate for the tails and ears respectively, if they bother in the first place. that's actually fallen off more and more nowadays. CBU3 somehow takes Hrothgar and Viera ears as a genuine trouble they don't want to deal with so they just started shortcutting
That picture of the Odin set with a rigged cape might have something to do with it. That was datamined back in 6.1 but remains unused

Isn't that just the old Odin set? Not sure what the rigged cape has to do with anything.

No, the old Odin set doesn't have any cape at all. A fully flowing version was found sometime around late ARR/early HW but removed, likely for looking kinda wonky and being RAM intensive, especially when more than one person on-screen is wearing a cape. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nR37n3dM-0

I see. But does the set look at all... you know? Better?
Do you think they will actually add it for players alongside a bevy of other player gear with cape physics, or is that just hopeful?
If anything, the fact that we still have a bunch of one-piece sets in the game feels more lazy to me than the absence of capes.

Looks really neat. Wish ingame capes had those physics.
They can't accommodate for viera ears because they're too massive to make earsleeve for for every helm.
But they can at least let the ears poke through and just pretend there's a hole there.
It worked for other MMOs.
Even as someone happy with FF14 and EW, I find it weird that CBU3 is so fucking up their own ass about the clipping shit with hats. So much shit already clips. Just let viera and hrothgar ears stick through or whatever.

Korean games do a great job with cosmetics but we all know why, I was a huge fan of the "fantasia" system BDO had, allowing people to change their character on the fly was pretty neat.
endwalker was bad, not heavensward bad but it was still pretty bad hope dawntrail is good though no im not talking about story you stupid homosexuals I mean the expansion as a whole
There is no fucking way I would have wanted an entire expansion in Garleamald. Fuck that, it was depressing as fuck. Which is ok in short bursts, no fucking way for an entire expansion. Shitty, snowy, Tundra, burning landscapes, war ruined. Yeah I'm ok with what we got.
They said they will but it won't all be at the release of 7.0 but over the span of the expansion they're going back and reworking old gear to bring it up.
Don't know but if I recall I saw some shit about him thinking Hydaelyn and Zodiark were made by Allagans or something?
Everything was just.. Allagans.
Because he probably treated them like... what are they called in in WoW? The big stone gods? Who are "behind everything"?

The FFXIV community should forever feel shame and embarresment for ever giving this guy so much money. The only silver lining is that he wasted all of it and then went into massive debt thanks to buying a house (which he has since sold and now him and his wife had to move into an apartment) and his wife's miscarriage medical costs.
>The FFXIV community should forever feel shame and embarresment for ever giving this guy so much money
I completely agree with you, the next part of your post though. How the fuck do you know all of that unless you've been watching him? You are part of the problem.
>That's the best loremaster XIV can muster?
Just the one who was the biggest lolcow. I don't follow youtubers but I heard he got invited to some gathering of XIV loremasters and he couldn't keep up with anything because he knew significantly less and had the dumbest takes.
I'm actually amazed at how much better it looks now, the materials panel they did really has me interested in what they'll do to gear moving forward as well as what they are remastering from the old sets.
Can't wait to see if they update other weather effects too.
Without dooming, I unironically hadn't realized we'd gone backwards so much.
I know they didn't wanna go photorealistic with all the deep pits and such, but I know they stated that left was what they were aiming for in terms of fidelity.
Right looks a lot, lot more flat and lower quality. Disappointing.
I dunno. I feel like it depends on the examples being used and the lighting.
Picrel for example I feel like is pretty high quality looking.
I also dunno how much of what they're showing off is actually the whole thing. They tend to show off specific stuff in an isolated manner.
I kinda wish it didn't at this point....I spent well over 5k hours with it. Maybe close to 10 and still haven't done all content. I doubt it's even possible at this point. I can't even recommend it to friends because there is too much shit in this game. I really whish it would just slowly fade out and they would make the next game. Or update the engine or something. I basically only queue for pvp these days and even that just burns me out. Also add a non story progression or something. All the newfags skip dialogue anyway. Not that I would care since I'm maxed in everything anyway but I was leveling alts for that 30 day free subtime once and skipped everything and just did quests and fates and it was actually really enjoyable. Whole leveling experience should be like eureka honestly.
What did it win?
Birb SEXO!!!
I really hate that an MMO got some of the best storytelling in the FF franchise. They really need to give Ishikawa her own FF game.
It's all anime schlock though.
It won me a ticket to quitting the game once the last update of the expac lands.

Kissing Ryne and Gaia’s feet while they make out with each other!
Sure.
Ryne is a service sub and Gaia is a paper tiger.
Yeah but it’s not that hard to convince a girl to let you kiss her feet since it’s a semi-romantic gesture and unique sensation
Hmh. Fair.
Gaia's wearing stupid high platform boots, though. Why not kiss those?
Then why aren't Ryne & Gaia in the next expansion?
They're recuperating after WoL made both of them heavily pregnant.
>finally leveled DRK after all these years
>that 60-70 job questline
>those fucking quest journal entries
Absolute kino.
Why couldn't PLD have a questline even half as cool and interesting damn it.
Call me a homosexual but the whole Fray thing was nowhere near as interesting as the two arcs after that.
The Myste arc was definitely the highlight of the whole job for me and maybe the best job quest in the entire game.
DRK being schizo kino was a very pleasant surprise
It's probably the one good job questline.
I really liked the black mage quest. It's schizo kino by proxy, so to speak.
The BLM quest being about the power of friendship but your friends are beast tribes was a weird but welcome storyline.
SAM 50-60 quests were amazing
One of the greatest story moments in this entire game.
SEEEEX
I really enjoyed the 80 quest as well, people don't talk about it too much but it was nice.

Official power ranking for level X.0 dungeons, taking into account music, presentation, boss quality, story wow factor and replayability
The Dead Ends > Ala Mhigo > Amaurot > Aetherochemical Research Facility > Praetorium
I did it!
I...I killed them all...
So fuckin kino, i watch it every time
>Ra-La
Fair point, honestly. Amaurot just gets ahead for me simply because of my biases.
Dead Ends is pretty good in all ways.
Amaurot > The Dead Ends > Aetherochemical Research Facility > Ala Mhigo > Praetorium
I would put Aetherochemical Research Facility at the very top if it was before the rework, actually. Just really, really good boss fights there in terms of mechanics.
ARF got a rework also? Shame, it was my favorite dungeon.
all MSQ dungeons from ARR and HW did. ARR ones most, HW a bit.
Stormblood and beyond just got made duty support compatible I think, though. For better or worse.
It's a good rework, but it's one of the dungeons that were perfect the way they were.
The Hraesvelgr dungeon is one I'm unsure about.
Ascian Prime is now a sprout and mentor destroyer.
>music
The newer the better, pretty simply
>presentation
EW >= ShB > HW > SB >>>>>>>>> ARR
>boss quality
EW > ShB > HW > SB > ARR
I don't even remember the SB bosses other than Zenos, but I'd guess they're better than the ARR bosses. Pre-rework I'd put ARR miles behind, but Prae got an improvement and SB probably got a downgrade with trusts
>story wow factor
EW >= ShB > HW > SB >>>>>>>>> ARR
>replayability
Like all dungeons, I don't want to do any of them after the first time
Overall I'd say EW > ShB > HW > SB > ARR
Kinda based. I somewhat agree t b h. Dead Ends bosses are mostly pretty neat, and the scenery is nice as well.
Rule 13
pretending to be Ganker staff
I'd rate similar to most but only on the basis that aetherochem (and honestly Lahabrea himself at this point) really needs ascian prime to be a separate fight, it's easily one of my favorite dungeons in the game aside from the last fight being a weird pseudotrial that could honestly be the first phase of Thordan instead considering how poorly that trial seems to age no matter how they rebalance it
The Dead Ends is my favorite dungeon in the game on all fronts.
I love the storybook-like presentation, the music, the visuals, and the bosses.

>entire party wipes in dead ends
This shit just doesn't happen in amaurant. So dead ends is better
I have never seen a wipe in Dead Ends, ever. You can kill all three bosses solo as a tank.
The first boss is a struggle for the mentally deficient.
I thought it was the 2nd boss.
A tank CAN solo the second boss pretty easily. The first one can pose problems because of the instant kill debuff, Hysteria, and stack marker. The first boss is one of the very few dungeon encounters where a healer actually has to do anything so it fucks a lot of people.
Who the fuck still plays this dead garbage in 2024?

Pretty good, only slowdowns in Limsa.
But also we don't know how it will be perform after the graphics update.
What's the canonical amount of time between 2.0 and present?
Have sex
with who? with you? with lalas?
No time at all. Endwalker quests still refer to there still having been only five years since the calamity, just like ARR did.
I wonder if the remaining reflections aren't all sci-fi and shit
I wouldn't be surprised if at least one is. The Source is fairly advanced, despite having Ascians press the reset button every now and then, so Shards with no calamities could definitely have made more progress than the Source.
i imagine one of the reflections will be ff7 style
I liked the Ancients and their questline. Emet-Selch is a good character.

Is it a good idea to Cover the tankbuster on other tanks in pve, or will I just fuck over the healers when they just have to heal me instead?
You should check if the MT is a DRK and only do it after you see them use The Blackest Night.
For what purpose
If you're doing anything below Savage just let the main tank take the hit
I doubt it seriously matters. If I'm OT PLD and the MT has anywhere south of 60% HP there's a good chance I'll pop it when a buster is coming. That said, don't be surprised if the healers have tunnel vision and don't even notice your HP dropping, or scramble around in a blind panic to both hit you with every OGCD heal they have if it's a hefty hit.
The only time you should use cover is to protect the last healer while they LB3

Has the new mage been leaked yet or are we still in guessing phase?
most likely green mage
>debuff mage in a game where everything's immune to shit above level 50
Oh I fucking hope not.
bro they changed a bunch of jobs up for ff14
To fit the MMO trinity while still making them sorta resemble their usual counterparts.
I'm resigned to having another mage just use green's name, but I was hoping for some concrete idea of what it was actually going to do to at least not feel redundant.
I ain't played since the second manderville phase, I have no idea what's going on in MSQ
>I ain't played since the second manderville phase, I have no idea what's going on in MSQ
krile got her ass on some clover ears
>ears

Cute, I guess.
>job

Blufever got the living shit sued out of him for the Shadowbringers era leaks so sadly we don't have any leakers in Squeenix anymore. The closest we'll get is the official benchmark and media tour stuff.
They're not shy about debuffs if Machinist getting Dismantle back is taken into consideration
The issue therein is "what would Green Mage even DO for Debuffs when all of its shit was yanked from BLM and WHM?" and probably its main focus will be DoTs since Reaper and Sage both reused shit from Dragoon and Dark Knight
Just add attributes for elemental and physical damage. Maybe stats too.
The only class to get fucked by resists is BLU, everyone else has 100% hit chance on all their debuffs save for tank/WHM stuns.
>everyone else has 100% hit chance on all their debuffs save for tank/WHM stuns.
Sleep?
Foot Graze?
Leg Graze?
To be frank, I completely forgot those abilities even existed.
Everyone does because they're useless, besides maybe in deep dungeons.
Idk do the turtle people in notchina have a spellcaster in their lore
Iirc they have some onmyoji (thaumaturges) and geomancers (conjurer equivalent) but GEOs use bells in XIV and onmyo still use staves, technically Seiryu uses a jian sword
6.5 MSQ basically had the green mage symbol right in your face.
Yoshi-P's shirt could be a hint at green (because the turtles are green) or their ability Shell (because turtles have a shell) or both.

i'm interested in seeing why yoshida keeps harping on so much about 7.X being multiplayer focused. "no trusts for dawntrail dungeons or non-MSQ dungeons" is already a very interesting start
>"no trusts for dawntrail dungeons or non-MSQ dungeons"
You mean the MSQ dungeons or all dungeons? I'd find it wierd if they removed Trusts now all of a sudden after making such a big deal of making the MSQ playable solo (except for trials).
misremembered and mixed up two different pieces of information - dawntrail will not have any optional or non-necessary dungeons (all dungeons will be trust compatible), and they aren't going to build trusts for optional dungeons from previous expacs https://www-famitsu-com.translate.goog/news/202310/22321423.html?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=wapp
>dawntrail will not have any optional or non-necessary dungeons (all dungeons will be trust compatible),
Fucking hell, they are going to cut the two extra level cap dungeons.
might be we'll get something earlier as a replacement for it like a v/c dungeon right off the bat
I don't think that was actually said anywhere verbatim.
This. Dunno how Expert Roulette is gonna work. Maybe it'll be be the level 99 dungeon and 100 dungeon at first, or they're going wild and make you do two level 100 dungeons in the MSQ.
>"no trusts for dawntrail dungeons
never said
>keeps harping on so much about 7.X being multiplayer focused
you mean a comment made in one interview?
I think 7.X will have another Bozja again and probably even the non-combat content will be like Ishgard restauration with tons of people, but some people clearly are expecting way too much (again).
what do you find so exciting about a rehash of a rehash of an instanced zone with mobs to kill
It'll be like Island Sanctuary, but on a boat with fishing and diving. Think farming Laver in IS, but that's all there is
I think he specifically mentioned battle content in interviews, but I don't fully recall. (I don't care about forays and such as much, anyway)
Dunno, actually. The auto-translate of that article only gives that impression.
Auto-translator:
>However, we are currently in the process of planning a completely new type of battle content that has never been seen before.
Supposedly manually translated:
>Naturally, we persist in our discussions and creative brainstorming for unique battle content.
I think a lot of people who go by the auto-translated version will be disappointed if they take it as gospel.
did you miss all the graphical overhaul stuff that was shown off at the panel and NA FanFest?
(more likely, you're just shitposting, eh?)
>way worse than 1.0
It helps to have a 1.0 screenshot handy for this kinda thing (pic related taken from https://youtu.be/kbNLD7waYI4?t=169)
Note that jaggy clothing and ugly ground when viewed from close-up are still present, and the main graphical benefits over current 6.X are
>better lighting
>higher texture resolution on buildings, city features, etc.
>better cutscene choreography and heavier use of foliage
>belts and models for them
jesus 1.0 looks like shit
frankly 1.0's presentation is its key advantage, and most PCs could barely handle it in due part to shit like that dumb resolution scaling option that made no fucking sense. but peel back the shaders and better lighting, and you have a worse XI with high-poly assets and a different world that wasn't really as interesting or intricate as Vana'diel.

>beastmen are naggers again just because XI did it
>trying to hype up ala mhigo as eorzea's overall cultural center since it's close-by and under garlean occupation, but even 1.X does a poor job of giving any reason why anybody should really give a shit about it beyond the fact it's gaius's stronghold
1.0 looked good in selective areas (visually, not literally "areas" as in zones) and worse than ARR in others.
Whereas Dawntrail proves to just be an improvement to what is already there.
Friendly reminder only trannies still play FF14 after Stormblood.
There was a discussion about umbral, astral, and unaspected magic last night and someone mentioned a retcon with umbral and astral.
What other retcons has XIV been through?
What was the retcon?
There was no "retcon" about umbral and astral, you might want to read those posts again.
Hey guys, just starting today as a monk lmao, any tips on playing the game?
no you are a bigger who needs to be wiped out
lalas are for lalas only
that's my lala
I will not play this game until I can fuck Tataru. How long before that happens.
You're gonna have to wait for subs to start dropping, moment upon which they'll enable npc EBing.
1 year of tranny guys
FREE 5 MINUTE PAINTINGS OF YOUR FFXIV CHARACTER! Happening NOW! 🙂 It's a player organized ffxiv event where an artist makes paintings of YOU! twitch.tv/thepopotoartist
why do people do this
i hate it
some people have no shame
The worst part is how fucking dogshit her art is and the one time I checked her channel she was crying about AI art.
I am going to hold down Yugiri and shave her bush
I suspect au ra might not have bushes to begin with.
Whats your evidence for this?
Male au ra have no facial hair, they just get scales where it would be. They both also get scales in arms and legs where body hair would grow.
On that same premise, I suspect they don't have any pubic hair. They might have scales down there.
but they don't have scales under their arms, or on their chest, they don't have a scaly happy trail. There are Male Au Ra faces with facial hair options
does he play tranny guys?
Why is every big streamer playing WoW instead of our critically acclaimed MMO?
I thought we were the most popular?
ffxiv is dead
You've begged for streamer attention for this game more times than the actual number of XIV stream views
Ganker how do I get the rdm homosexual in my group to switch to a good job? He refuses to play anything else and it's causing our prog group to take longer than it should.
Bro not everyone can play black mage (the only good job in the game)...
Sex with buns.
have a nice day, trannies.
Do people really like Graha?
Only trannies and homosexuals
Adoring Fan catboy following me is funny as fuck, I like him.
Cunt.
what is he supposed to do, take the entire crystarium with him?
Ask how they're doing at least?
Instead
>Lyna's doing alright by the way
>Lyna-who? Oh.. yeah, hehe.. that's great. Eh...
he was already characterized as kinda senile as the exarch
Honestly I wish the writing team had enough common sense to make more distinctions between the Exarch from the homosexual who just has his memories installed, Graha just plain doesn't have a hundred plus years of experience as a leader so him stumbling trying to present himself as such should be more pronounced
I don't mind G'raha, I just despise the fanbase
>that whole channel
https://twitter.com/liz_ard_XIV
>that Ultima Thule animation
Holy fucking cringe.
>a brazilian lizard-girl will never be this attracted to you
nauseating
I get we can't make cutscenes to accommodate for different jobs (yet can accommodate for Scholar knowledge or being a Healer), but this spellcaster suddenly pulling out the fucking aetherpool sword and shield was still dumb as hell.
it's the same shit as alisaie making a crystal sword before red mage was shown off
The problem with the scions as a group is that its mostly made up of nerds. This becomes VERY apparently when Thancred and Estinien aren't around.
Kind of Alisaie too but she's still a bit of a nerd.
All of the core scions need to grow in different ways so we don't just rely on Thancred and Estinien all the time..
Estinien is such a chad he not only stuck with his original job, but sticks with his only combat job glamour using the AF gear.
I wish he still had a helmet but I think the devs know too that the Trueblood helmet is garbage in-game.
Alisaie is a dumb cunt and a shitty jobber shes just there to yell and take up cut scene time.
Yeah but she has a nice ass I want to grope so it evens out.
based
I want to break her limit
I want to pull her up against me until she's flat against my chest and then drive my fingers into her shorts.
>Ameliance made the twins new outfits
>put Alisaie in tight shorts
based mom trying to help her daughter catch the WoL's attention.
>Alphis even more or a lordling noble .
Built for tomboy midlander or thighlander wols.
Well, it worked. I wanna feel her up every time she turns around and shows her ass off in those tight shorts.
Alphinaud is much cuter and kinder than Alisae.
Making hytlodaeus a twink has been a diaster for mystery naggerdom.
Emet Selch being a technically correct asshole was part of it and also ties in with his nerdiness
We didn't spend that much time with them so we didn't see that much but what we did see was generally loved, it mostly serves an example of how to do this type of character better.
The entire thing came down to
>Hythlodaeus likes to tease Emet.
>Venat likes to tease Emet.
>Hermes sees Emet raging and laughs nervously about it.
BIG SOFT TACOS, OH BIG SOFT TACOS, OH BIG SOFT TACOS, SO BIIIIIIIIIII-IG!
Why is every female character a lesbian? I just want to find a nice mommy to EB...

How is our trailer doing?
>XIV is such a theme park MMO that it can't really afford to spare time to fleshing out its world worth a damn with what feels like a living, breathing amount of detail
i'm not tryin to start shit but rather ruminating on how static things just feel once you're in that endgame grind now
remember anon "living, breathing world" used to just mean that cows didn't respawn quickly in everquest
No offense but a lot of the things shown in that video are in FFXIV too.
it's fine to me
the part what makes it not "living and breathing" is that it's all instanced boxes with loading screens between
It started with the PS3 in mind so I don't mind loading screens until they randomly take 2-3 times as long for no good reason. But the fields are just so empty unless you're either a gatherer or on Fates and Hunt Trains.
I don't hold it against the game, but if I have to answer the question "why does XIV not feel as immersive as it could", then that is a good example of why.
>even Pokimane is playing WoW
I can't take it anymore. This hurts too much. I am a tier 3 sub to her and I asked her multiple times to give FF14 a try.
But she always ignored my donations.
I am very sad right now, someone post Ryne.
I hate all the cringe stream snipers. We would NEVER treat her like this in xiv
burying my face into Meteor's muscle booba
Calm down Venat.
No idea but I love it, can't wait for Clive's outfit in XIV and the modders to make a big muscle pecs version of it.
What's with CBU3 character designer and male boob window?
They know their audience is full of fags and latinas
At least it means we get female boob windows too.
well player surveys have shown there's a lot of female players plus queers so ofc they'll sexualize men
The "Scion conflict" will be brought to an end when they see Juan's new outfit showing off pecs and everyone simultaneously agrees they want to rally behind those muscles.
It might also bring peace to the Tural political conflict, who knows.
>have to play through hours of singleplayer game to reach the "good story"
terrible MMO
there is no good story in this pile of shit
if you don't like it even the tiniest bit by level 30 just quit and don't look back
alternatively if you can't handle a boring grind but you want to posture as an MMO oldfag and power-grinder, fuck off
>wow is a dumpster fire, therefore my wow-clone isn't a dumpster fire
Buy a skip if you just want to get to the themepark part.
the good story starts with Ifrit, it's just bogged down by mmo padding because the team never wanted to make ARR really feel like the game the expacs made it into
If they can't take you at your wine and cheese then they don't deserve you at your Light the way.
That was Titan. But also keks.
I know it was Titan and it came after IFrit, I just think the wine and cheese part of ARR was
the most memorable in how fucking vacuous can a task be for WoL. Even Y'shtola was like "What the fuck, why is this even a thing, you know we're trying to save the realm right".
it was memes
>better part of a decade later in game updates
>can still criticize the Champions for that dumb bullshit as they realize you really do hold a grudge for it
My favorite thing is that they had you do it AGAIN in Stormblood Ivalice raids.
i liked helping matsuno make bacon-bread for his elf wife
Nobody cares about what you want or like.
Opening a book halfway through to get to the "epic bombastic shit" is also retarded.
a realm reborn sucks always recommend people to skip it
You literally can play through ARR and the first two expansions for free at your own pace.
There is no reason to seethe about "ugh i gotta get through x and y before I can.....-" because it literally costs you nothing.
>finish the gay ball carrying part of the fall guys thing first of the entire grp
>eliminated
????
you carried all 3 balls, and not just one, right
yes. Literally right as I got over the finish line for the last one (blue) and no one else had finished.
Bird sex
bird is not for sex
>say MMO is bad specifically because it doesn't focus on the adventure and the playing the game with other people part, and exploring the world
>ffxiv fags shit their pants
everytime
repeating yourself every day is not trolling
Try another MMO who focuses on what you want.
don't claim to be an MMO when you don't meet the basic qualifications
Destiny 2 is also not an MMO
*your* basic qualifications.
an entire genre is not beholden to you, sorry fren
>not an MMO
>not an RPG
Who is the game for? Trannies and coomers?
cycle IPs harder you obsessed bitch
And what are the "basic qualifications" of an MMO? Not your personal opinions, the actual ones laid out in writing.
not a lobby game
Lobby game?
probably referring to shit like PSO2 and Monster Hunter and thinks games with hub town stuff are inherently shit, while considering anything with instanced content to be an immediate disqualification
Go on.
Explain.
t. erper
Not sure why you replied to me just signing your own post as "erper".
bnuuy bois
I feel like when you go back to elpis everyone there should've done that WEEE OOOHHH WEEE WOWWW talk like in amaurot
It's kind of wierd they don't, but I'm just gonna assume they didn't want to potentially make the Elpis scenes come across as silly when Hermes' voice starts going insane and it translates into just faster WEEE OHHHs.
That would've been cool too, but I understand why they decided to make them more human.
Echo, motherfucker.
the echo should slowly mingle words together until eventually the language is full english
you can tell when you're using the echo to understand their voices. the shape of the dialogue box changes
the nummiest bait in the thread is the guy interpreting g'raha's request to you to go back to the first as him completely ignoring his people. lol
>is the guy interpreting g'raha's request to you to go back to the first as him completely ignoring his people. lol
imagine you actually have to engage with the point, not just strawman it
lalafag mad because his cathusbando got told off
>the nummiest bait in the thread is the guy interpreting g'raha's request to you to go back to the first as him completely ignoring his people
But that's not what happens? G'raha doesn't tell you to go to the First, you agree with all the Scions and the only one who says something about the people there is Thancred asking that you say hello to Ryne for him. Then you come back, say the same to G'raha from Lyna, and he has the "Huh? ...oh shit, right." moment.
G'raha was senile as the Exarch.
I didn't get that impression.
He's laser-focused on his bestie and hero, most all of the Crystarium NPCs tell you about the Exarch being a really weird guy who thinks he's more mysterious than he actually is, but they love him anyways.
you mean him opening a letter with a fish wasn't a giveaway?
This. Lalafags not only shitposter, but lorelet husbandofags.
Graha haters are delusional Broccoli, there are reasons to dislike him but most Anons just harbor personal hatred
Eat a mint, spearmint!
i believe its 100% aesthetic. if the crystal exarch was some gandalf looking fucker they'd like him more
>Eat a mint, spearmint!
You don't need bait when you're spearfishing dummy.
You fucking goon you got me with your wordplay
>*nom*
Yummy yummy bait...
*mooches u*
how's that for bait
>want to feel that urge to play again

>don't wanna do anything and not excited for anything

The game is dead, anon. Flee, and never return

alright, I'm gonna need a glam that looks close to Emet's emperor robe
also did they change something about Island gathering? I'm sure they refreshed on a timer but now I need to actually circle around for them to respawn
https://ffxiv.eorzeacollection.com/glamour/151143/emet-selch
This is prolly the closest you'll find until they add Emet's glam to the cash shop (if ever)
yeah, I was thinking of that robe as well
GIVE US MORE GARLEAN GLAMS YOU FUCKS
Hopefully Garlean Restoration soon.
Don't think it'd give us Solus glam, though.
garelinaggers get nothing. Seethe more.
Fairly sure there'll be a Garlean Restoration Effort at some point.
They did say they were willing to give out Garlean glams and gunblades now.
GOT YOU!
everyone i know who i thought were lifetime subscribers to ffxiv, im talking like 5000hrs playtime minimum, are now shiting on the game and went to play wow classic hardcore. what gives?
ffxiv is dead and yawntrail is just more of the same
0 hype
What is there to be hyped about?
Trailer was a wet fart of a homosexual eating a taco, generic trash anime combat and dogshit music to boot
No exciting new features, no risks, just the same garbage as the last 10 years with a different coat of paint
incredible, you've strung random buzzwords together into an incoherent post
anon, don't feed it
true
>No exciting new features, no risks, just the same garbage as the last 10 years with a different coat of paint
So like every game franchise today.
jesus christ that's not real is it? ultimate soul v soulless right there
You know I used to be pretty fond of Hogger. I had a lot of dumb funny experiences fighting him with friends and alone back when the world was new and I didn't know any better.
Seeing him like this now is... oof.
breeding G'raha
>look into modding because I want to get hire resolutions on stuff
>what bodies get updated clothes to match is random
>a huge chunk of everything is awful looking coomer crap
>some creators expect €10 for a single item
>the three main websites are either Nexus or the two worst website I have ever seen for modding ever
>the community is full of people bickering over the most petty shit ever
I guess I'll be sticking to the defaults.
>can't manage to win a single fall guys game
:c
Man, I really would've preferred:
Venat, Elpis Emet and old man Lahabrea hair over Durante and Caveman Lahabrea hair. :V Durante's hair is *o.k.* but Caveman Lahabrea's whacky Einstein hair sucks, and there were a lot more better candidates in EW or past expansions.
Hythlo hair
That too, but I didn't mention it because I personally don't care for it. (I miss Hythloshadeus)
But yes, we could have gotten:
>Hilda hair
>Yotsuyu hair
>Gaius hair
>Venat hair
>Hythlodaeus hair
>Old man Lahabrea hair
>Emet-Selch hair
>young Emet-Selch hair
Did I miss anything?
>Yotsuyu hair
YES PLS
all the hime cuts we have ARE SHIT
Gaia and Ryne.
Yugiri.
Light Avatar Minfilia.
Estinien.
Merlwyb.
Kan-e-Senna.
Nanamo.
Ysayle.
>Release the Ysayle glam on the cash shop, despite the glam being something you can mostly recreate with other gear
>don't release the Ysayle hair with the glam to entice people to buy the outfit
Actual fucking morons.
Yes.
Can you write that again, you dumb fuck?
Sure.
I would have preferred Old Man Lahabrae, Elpis Emet-Selch or Venat's hairstyle over the hairstyles we got. (Younger Lahabrea and Durante)
>still hasn't disproven that g'raha dropped the people he supposedly formed personal relationships with like bricks
>just get vaguepost in a spiteful and catty and dismissive way
Most intellectually honest and secure G'rahafag.
Give me Kain's super-long ponytail and bang or give me death. The closest equivalent is Fourchenault's braid.
Imagine the clipping
I will take the clipping gladly.
they need to give us more big hair in general
At least the Durante hair is LONG(ish)
They were shying away from that for far too long.
This. Shit will clip anyway. Shit clips as is. If we have the option we can at least glam around it or decide whether the clipping is worth it.
kino also I want hien hair
Delete Viera
Finish Hrothgar
Make playable Lupin
Retcon or redo Endwalker
Make the Garlean expansion
Sure
No
NO lmao
No. Endwalker needs no retcons/redos
Absolutely not. Garloids are shit
>demanding any other races
Viera and Hrothgar being untenable to the point that they can't even make proper hats for them at all has literally removed any future races from the board because they don't want to repeat any of this again.
>new races can't have hats
>enable hats with a mod
>look perfectly fine
Lazy japs
if by "perfectly fine" you mean "viera ears look fucking stupid on most hats" then yes
and because they're lazy you're never seeing anything more than buttcapes, ear-removing hoods or circlets/faceguards, and other shit
the thing is if you're a Miqo'te, torso and head pieces are altered to accommodate for the tails and ears respectively, if they bother in the first place. that's actually fallen off more and more nowadays. CBU3 somehow takes Hrothgar and Viera ears as a genuine trouble they don't want to deal with so they just started shortcutting
>and because they're lazy
you'll eat shit next expac
NTA but curious why you feel that way.
That picture of the Odin set with a rigged cape might have something to do with it. That was datamined back in 6.1 but remains unused
Isn't that just the old Odin set? Not sure what the rigged cape has to do with anything.
No, the old Odin set doesn't have any cape at all. A fully flowing version was found sometime around late ARR/early HW but removed, likely for looking kinda wonky and being RAM intensive, especially when more than one person on-screen is wearing a cape. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nR37n3dM-0
cash shop items arent indicative of gear design
Show me the cash-shop page for the Odin set with a cape, anon.
>seriously expecting to be anything other than cash shop when it drops
you poor delusional soul
you are so fucking mad about the cash shop
>uh that's probably cash shop bro
>NO YOU'RE SO MAD, YOU'RE MAD
lol,
lmao even
>i was calm and YOU WERE SILLY
calm down time
I see. But does the set look at all... you know? Better?
Do you think they will actually add it for players alongside a bevy of other player gear with cape physics, or is that just hopeful?
If anything, the fact that we still have a bunch of one-piece sets in the game feels more lazy to me than the absence of capes.
Who the hell cares what I think, I'm explaining why an Odin set was posted.
Looks really neat. Wish ingame capes had those physics.
They can't accommodate for viera ears because they're too massive to make earsleeve for for every helm.
But they can at least let the ears poke through and just pretend there's a hole there.
It worked for other MMOs.
They already do it with Au Ra horns, too. They literally just never cared to make those horns even make plausible sense for any headgear.
That, for one. But I also think it'd be difficult. Especially for horns and ears with different options.
Didn't the Viper hood in the trailer already mess with cat ears?
Yeah. It cuts them off. At least for now.
Probably at least Find The Flame and Cid's Hideaway.
Even as someone happy with FF14 and EW, I find it weird that CBU3 is so fucking up their own ass about the clipping shit with hats. So much shit already clips. Just let viera and hrothgar ears stick through or whatever.
>he's replying to himself now since nobody else will
How quaint.
Why is the doomsissy having a conversation with himself?
What do you mean, golbez armor and kate meta are very important topics also the hype is dead.
thread is too angry and whiny, post silly screenshots
Femra thighs look soft
I want a bunch of orchestrion rolls in the 16 event
I assume there'll be at least 2.
XV got a bunch, so I expect just as many.
Just fucking give me a buzzcut without tribal pattern cutouts.
Seriously? The fuck is wrong with homosexuals in this game?
I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to zones, MSQ and graphics...
But TWO DYES MAN, TWO FUCKING DYES.
>WOAH, WE GET A FEATURE THAT MOST OTHER GAMES HAVE???
>EXCEPT THOSE GAMES USUALLY HAVE 3 DYES AND WE GET 2???
>THAT MOST OTHER GAMES HAVE???
lol
Actually, I should have stated that most other games *with dye systems* have
>that most other games *with dye systems* have
again: lol
i like playing this game more than those other games with dye systems tho
Yeah but the point is, those shitty games can do 3 dyes with 0 issue yet we barely get 2 10 years later
Name 4 MMOs with multi channel dye systems that aren't korean.
Okay I have a lis-
>not korean
wtf man that's just not fair
Korean games do a great job with cosmetics but we all know why, I was a huge fan of the "fantasia" system BDO had, allowing people to change their character on the fly was pretty neat.
Guild Wars 2
Elder Scrolls Online
Phantasy Star Online 2
SWTOR
TWO
FUCKING
DYES
All the other stuff is kinda expected.
We'll have to see more at JP FanFest re: lifestyle content, which is the only unknown-ish right now.
Because 99% of the latter is [REDACTED].
I miss when the ARR dungeons had a hodgepodge of armors instead of full sets.
clown fashion needs to stay go
Graha is a bad character.
So is alisaie.
I wish we got b team scion kino.
endwalker was bad, not heavensward bad but it was still pretty bad hope dawntrail is good though no im not talking about story you stupid homosexuals I mean the expansion as a whole
All they had to do was make the Garlean expansion. Still befuddled on why they decided to sacrifice the big conclusion expansion.
garlinaggers eternal cope is wonderful.
Because most people didn't want an entire expansion on Garlecope.
It might have been cool if we had done some zones in Garlemald and some zones in Corvus, but i'm happy with Endwalker either way tbh.
I wonder if they'll backdate the dye stuff.
I'm sure they won't. Not immediately, at least.
They also have to progressively update the old gear to the new graphics, so I'm pretty sure they'll do both at once.
That... is a good point.
If they're down in the nitty and gritty, they'll have to fuck around with that stuff, anyway.
They said they will but it won't all be at the release of 7.0 but over the span of the expansion they're going back and reworking old gear to bring it up.
So like the MSQ dungeon duty support stuff.
I wonder what the cadence will be and where they start and how.
>raid
>only watch Zepla
>two more months until femhroths
Whoever wins we lose.
do they actually have massive hips and thighs?
no that's a modded miqo'te
their legs look closest proportionally to femroes' legs
Uh XIVbros......our loremaster just left us for WoW. What do we do now????
>our loremaster
Bwahahahaha.
He left? Fucking finally, the last of the WoWugees now the only one left is Zepla, she needs to go back.
Preach can stay hes a good Norf lad
>our loremaster
Is he the loremaster who took notes of the least important things and got common story beats completely wrong?
That's the best loremaster XIV can muster?
Didn't he think Mount Gulg was Zodiark?
Don't know but if I recall I saw some shit about him thinking Hydaelyn and Zodiark were made by Allagans or something?
Everything was just.. Allagans.
Because he probably treated them like... what are they called in in WoW? The big stone gods? Who are "behind everything"?
>Is he the loremaster who took notes of the least important things and got common story beats completely wrong?
yes
>7000+ subs
I don't follow youtubers but I heard he got invited to some gathering of XIV loremasters and he couldn't keep up with anything because he knew significantly less and had the dumbest takes.
bros... why does the newest version of the hyur look markedly worse than the "1 month test" example?
that shit's still gotta run smoothly on consoles my dude
you are not going to get a KMMO autism graffix game out of this without mods
consoles straight up aren't getting it
hell, the graphics update is an OPTIONAL toggle on PC anyway
>he still thinks consoles are whats holding the game back
we are talking about the graphics update not whatever dumb cahntent you're thinking of
consoles are still holding the game back, having to make sure the ps4 and 5 can play it means the pc version gets fucked over
and the new graphics still look like shit compared to even ps4 games
consoles arent holding anything back because the average pc player probably plays on a pc comparable to last gen consoles
I'm actually amazed at how much better it looks now, the materials panel they did really has me interested in what they'll do to gear moving forward as well as what they are remastering from the old sets.
Can't wait to see if they update other weather effects too.
Viper AF looks fucking amazing
needs to show more cleavage
BIG
VIPER
TIDDIES
fuck yeah
I can't tell if you're being serious. looks just like some random gear set.
that'll do, pig
that'll do
It has zero identity whatsoever, much like the actualy job itself.
If the job was merely named "Corsair" and was the exact same, you'd be creaming your pants.
Anon he's trolling with the image.
I dunno. I feel like it depends on the examples being used and the lighting.
Picrel for example I feel like is pretty high quality looking.
I also dunno how much of what they're showing off is actually the whole thing. They tend to show off specific stuff in an isolated manner.
They look like plastic dolls now, they overdid it with the highlights in the eyes and shinyness of the skin. It looks horrible.
I think it looks fine. Especially considering it's an external lighting source.
Before, they looked like actual plastic dolls.
Is there a server for people who aren't homosexualy communists?
this ain't WoW anon you aren't gonna find a world where /shout chat is /misc/
Balmung uldah gets close
