Maehiro:
>The spell Clive cast in the end was meant to make Ultima's creations, such as magic, dominants, bearers, crystals and even petrification finally stop/go away from their world.
Clive is essentially confirmed alive, as petrification can no longer keep spreading in their world, just like the blight. Clive saved himself in the end and, poignantly, lost the hand he'd always used to wield magic.
The Iron Kingdom guy who tried raping Jill was the patriarch, Imreann, himself:
>Year 861 (Age 41, Jill is 13) Tries to force Jill to become his nightly “attendant” but Shiva awoke within her, and he dropped that plan. He then forces her to use her powers to commit heinous crimes.
This is the entire timeline of events that occur prior to the start of the game, with over 5,000 years worth of history.
There is a TON of new lore, such as the "Present Age" regarding the Crystalline Dominion, what exactly was the Remembrance Ceremony, and much more. Read at your own discretion! Events are written in chronological order.

Dion being younger than Joshua is the most surprising thing here
They were listed together, it might not necessarily mean that.
Gav's age is the most surprising
Wow so they refused to put any of this in their game to try and sell their trashy book
None of this lore is essential to understanding or appreciating the game's story.
What story?
>ip count stuck in neutral
It adds quite a bit of context to every noteworthy character, and it really should've been in over the MMO fetch quest filler segments like that part with Mid.
are you telling me the walls of text in this thread aren't even discussing in game story?
Funny that this retarded brand of vitriol isn't present when discussing Nier/Drakengard lorebooks. Kys
That's shitnix for you. Are you really surprised?
Huh? Are you genuinely retarded? This doesn't confirm he's alive at all. Just because he's Mythos doesn't mean the spell he cast to end the world's order as it is doesn't mean he didn't expend enough aether to suicide in the process
It does essentially confirm that Clive is alive.
Writer literally states that Clive's spell makes phenomena such as magic and petrification not work anymore in their world. Clive only lost his hand with the last bit of magic disappearing from their world, and the curse can't spread further.
Of course petrification wont happen anymore if theres no magic, but to cast that spell he needed to be part of the magic process, so he gets petrified
The petrification process could no longer continue once magic was exhausted, as we see while he's on the shore at the end. There is no more magic, hence no way for him to petrify further beyond what he had already lost.
He survived and penned the story at the end with the quill he received from the loresman.
"Clive Rosfield" could also very easily be a pen name
I rewatched the scene again and the petrification spreads from his fingers to his wrist before they dont show it anymore. If he was invulnerable after casting it either the hand should've be covered completely by the illness, or it shouldn't spread at all beyond his fingers. He even tries to cast magic a last time, he cant but it means there was still s trace there, and even after that you can see the illness goes from the hand to the wrist before they focus on his face. He was petrifying
Petrification stopped working along with magic. That's when the spell took effect.
Magic disappeared from the world when Clive made that one spark at the end, and the curse only got his left hand, after that the curse/blight literally doesn't work anymore just like magic, as per the terms of Clive's spell.
>Magic disappeared from the world when Clive made that one spark at the end
No? He casted the spell before falling
Magic disappears on the beach. It's literally shown on screen when Clive tries using fire. That's when the spell takes effect, magic disappears, curse and blight can't spread any further.
Clive quite literally saved himself with his spell.
No, he casted that shit before falling. He tries to do magic with that spark to ensure it was all gone
Anon, are you fucking retarded? The magic disappears, visibly, on the beach. It's shown to you. That's literally when the spell takes effect and magic disappears, otherwise Clive wouldn't have been able to use fire at all.
He would've frozen to death on the beach and died of exhaustion, even without petrification.
Clive survived a fall from the sky and a swim to the shore. He's not dying from a keking nap, and petrification doesn't even work anymore at that point.
>Clive survived a fall from the sky and a swim to the shore. He's not dying from a keking nap
Yeah, thats just anime bullshit. He was getting petrified tho
Clive is a known absolute unit. And petrification doesn't bloody work anymore with magic disappearing, that's what Clive's spell achieved.
Anon, what part of
>magic disappears from the world (literally shown in the scene with Clive)
>Clive only loses his hand at that moment
>curse can’t spread further, because that’s what the spell stopped too - crystal curse doesn’t work anymore
Do you not understand? He only lost his hand when magic disappeared, curse can’t spread anymore as the spell commands. He’s alive and literally can’t die from the curse.
The "curse" isn't really a curse. It's the body's capacity of to use magic. Like a lithium battery loses it's capacity to hold a charge.
The fact that his hand petrified means he wasn't the "vessel" that could wield unlimited magic.
The "Crystal Curse" is just a term for the petrification effect on the flesh. Light Blight is for the land.
>he wasn't the "vessel" that could wield unlimited magic
There was never such a being anyway. Ultima was retarded, a non-god without any followers left. This was a classic "Clive, a human, is closer to a god because people actually believe in him". Clive cast the spell he wanted on the world and it actually worked.
*Like Blight
It's interesting if we define god as a wish-granter. No one wanted what Ultima had in store for them but they all wished for what Clive was aiming for, so he did turn out to be the ultimate vessel holy grail after all.
Number one rule of visual storytelling: if you don't see him die, he's not dead
A petrified hand =/= death, and that's all we get to see
I think you are taking "show don't tell" too literally. They intentionally set up that scene to show Clive is not ok. He can be dead too, but there's no confirmation
Doesn't this mean he also genocides every race like Moogles who essentially run on magic to exist?
no retard the celestials decide who gets to live
No, they don't need it to live, that's the whole point. The hideout has no magic whatsoever and Nektar has been living there for years.
little sister I hear the archives whispering, if barry doesn't show up soon we're finished
Nektar so tells you they use magic to hide themselves away from people out of fear for their lives, so its still a bit of an oopsy
magic is aether. Aether doesn't disappear. It's the life energy of the planet and lifeforms. They all have aether inside them.
Dominants are dominants because they have huge amount of aether stored inside them to transform. That's why Hugo was able to transform when he destroyed the hideaway in a blighted zone
the magic is gone from this thread just let it die already, we've done all we can do
get a life loser
Cool, might read it once I play the game.
>>Year 861 (Age 41, Jill is 13) Tries to force Jill to become his nightly “attendant” but Shiva awoke within her, and he dropped that plan. He then forces her to use her powers to commit heinous crimes.
rapetards in shambles
Does anyone got that hebe Jill where she lufts up her skirt?
Another fact:
Clive only received the Phoenix blessing at 15, not long before the start of the prologue flashback.
I mean, yeah, we knew this from the ending.
I think it's more interesting that Joshua awakened to the Phoenix so young in comparison to other dominants.
how do people still not accept clive being alive at the end, the book literally quotes a line only clive was present for
Anyone needing confirmation like this that Clive lives, or who is still in denial and thinks he died, should not be allowed to make decisions by themselves. They are mentally incapable of trivial things, like how to wipe their own asses.
Ultima’s original body looked exactly like his final boss Ifrit form (winged).
that scene where titan raped that girl was disgusting. real vile shit
I just got home and haven't read the thread yet, bumping for visibility
>Clive is most likely alive
Sequel DLC confirmed?
With the way Clive's voice actor reacted at PAX and during some QA streams right before the event, wouldn't be surprised we get a post game DLC.
But how the fuck would they make a dlc without magic? Its a core feature of the game, how do you even rework combat to be fun without it?
Game mentions a cult that was searching for ways to use "magic" that are nothing like Ultima's.
What about all those animals that uses magic? Isn't a bomb just a big fireball thing. Does that mean all those animals that are magic based went extinct?
That's a good question. Most probably just lost supernatural powers.
It's never mentioned if Ultima even created them iirc. Ultima himself originally looked like a bloody giant animal, Ifrit.
Probably. But weren't a big part of them already akashic?
A lot of living things were going Akashic because of ether floods. Lamenting their disappearance along with that of magic's would be weird, at least to me, because that point they basically died.
I think that only the wraiths and bombs went extinct. Goblins, Morbols, Griffins and bros like Torgal that could channel magic, but didn't go Akashic or were basically animated aether lived on.
Makes sense, it's the same for bearers or dominants. Clive only got rid of magic itself, that's why men survived even though they were also Ultima's creation.
>What about all those animals that uses magic? Isn't a bomb just a big fireball thing.
Clive didn't destroy aether (which is basically the lifestream), he destroyed the innate ability to cast magic that was found by Ultima.
So monsters like bomb should still exist because the eight elements still exist
I think the DLC content will probably be prequel. Safe bet is that one will focus on Dzemekys, where Leviathan and his dominant are the focus.
Other piece of DLC could be before the events of the game, like how Ultima appeared before Barnabas, turning him ageless and Akashic. Or something focusing on Cid, maybe how he saved Benedikta and Midadol.
But that's my conjecture, 1 DLC focusing on stuff from the past, way before any of the main cast were born, and something focusing on 1 character from the cast.
>ip count didn't go up
The problem with a prequel DLC is that it would not show the core character cast that fans want to see more of. I really doubt they're gonna do that.
I think they're going to do one big post game Leviathan DLC and the other one will be something like a Bloody Palace (that door, which appears fairly early on in the main game in Rosaria).
I think doing anything postgame ruins the integrity of the story. From how they've talked about this, they don't mind telling more stories set in Valisthea or its world, but they want to make sure the game tells its own complete story, which it does. I feel that for anything set after the game's story ends is better left for sequel stuff. Like, how does Leviathan even work in this context where Clive has already killed Ultima and magick/things associate with it cease to exist?
To show Leviathan I think they'd have to way into the past. And I already suspect they will pick someone from the cast of the main story to expand upon, my guesses being either Barnabas or Cid. Maybe even Joshua himself in that time second time skip before we see Clive again as "Cid" in Dhalmekia.
Or they could go wild and the DLCs won't be restricted to a single playable character like the main game. Only time will tell.
Leviathan kind of puts a huge dent into that, and honestly I think it's pretty clear they're using this kind of "open" ending precisely to keep fans talking about the game and get them hyped for a dlc that's been in development for a while now. Leviathan is basically confirmed, leaked. They said in some interview that they didn't even plan dlc, which is marketing speak as you can clearly see.
A prequel would make the dlc impersonal (literally who are these characters). Inserting Leviathan into the main game plot is also near impossible, as it logically should change the events of the game a lot OR exclude the main cast (literally who issue again).
You say that, but prequel DLCs worked wonders for Xenoblade, and I'm sure to keep it relevant some sort of connection would be established. To me having Leviathan be the focus of postgame DLC would require too much clever writing for it to not come off as a total ass pull. Basically, they can give themselves a lot more leeway by making stuff happen before the game's story ends, even if its just a few year before, than by setting up stuff for after the game ends.
I think they want to appease fans with the DLC. And most fans do not want a prequel. They have Ultimania history lessons for that shit.
*I think they want to appease
yoshit would've made a final fantasy if he was concerned with appeasement
Each Final Fantasy has its own fanbase, autist
yeah all of the real fans like 1-9
anything after 6 aren't real fans
each final fantasy has their own fans, autist
yeah all of the real fans like 1-6
There is a TON of new lore, such as the "Present Age" regarding the Crystalline Dominion, what exactly was the Remembrance Ceremony, and much more. Read at your own discretion! Events are written in chronological order.
>real fans
Do you want a cookie
an actual final fantasy will suffice
Well you can grow up and move on, because 1-9 ended eons ago and we're talking about what 16's fanbase wants for the DLC
we're all moving on at this rate, 16 killed the franchise
Please, I hope it's true and you guys finally fuck off. You said the same thing in the last 5 games.
>You said the same thing in the last 5 games.
I liked 15, I wanted to love it but oh well. I told you I liked it and you called me 15kun
Ok dude, see you next thread year
I won't be here for the next thread my shift is almost over
>what 16's fanbase wants for the DLC
Pic rel is nips.
West at large wants anything with Clive post game. Also quite a few people want Jill/North and Cid stories.
the one in the Blight? I tried to run there to activate it on so many occasions thinking there will be a superboss or something secret
Yes. I think that them placing that door in a relatively early game area is no coincidence. Probably a dlc dungeon.
FF16's combat designer previously worked on DMC's Nero
What a hack
The NPC girl, Asta, in the Hideaway had a crush on just about every man. In this specific order:
-Otto
-Cole
-Gaute
-Blackthorne
-Goetz
-Gav
-Dion
-The Bard
-Joshua
-Clive
I only noticed recently she changes outfits and poses too.
Goetz: merchant backpack
Gav: cute orange outfit
but joshua is actually dead right
Melbourne: 4.25am. 52f. clear
Does the Ultimania leave anhy hint as to why the DLCs could be about?
My guesses are:
First that stupid iluminati org that shows up in some side quest to steal some book that talks about the history of the continent
Second in the dim area, theres some fallen building and clive says something along the lines of "I cant open this now",wich is the only location he says something like that
Does someon have that hebe 3D Jill where she lifts her skirt?
that pup looks just like luna's pup from 15. maybe Nomuras genius isn't completely lost to yoshit
Wow, it would be so cool if we had a medium to tell stories through audio and video!
>grayscale can no longer keep spreading in their world
kek this pos game really is a game of chuds rip-off
How's the story/ ending. Did it have a nice "feels" ending like xv did?
Everything about XVI is an improvement over XV. Stories and characters especially. I didn't buy a single friendship between the main cast of XV despite watching the dogshit movie and anime.
And yes, Clive and Jill unironically have a better love story, and a better ending, than XV. XVI is the most emotional I've gotten for an FF since VI.
Thanks
I mostly agree, but not everything is an improvement. The main downsides are customization and build variety. You don't even get to control party members. It's a step in the right direction but they need to either have more weapons or let you control party members that play differently like the ff7 remake.
I was talking about the story retard, 16's weapon system was fine
>Everything about XVI is an improvement over XV. Stories and characters especially.
Don't call me a retard for reading what you type dumbass. The combat is great but there is a lack of variety. That is a fact.
the combat perfectly fits what yoshit designed, changing it changes the whole scheme you stupid gay
That's not what I said. You're either retarded or trolling.
I said the combat is great, but there is a lack of VARIETY. The game goes on far too long for the system it has. If you could control different party members it would go a long way. Even DMC 5, a much shorter game, allows you to control different characters.
I was talking about the story. and no point did I mention combat you schizo
You literally said everything. Do you need me to greentext what you typed again? FF16 is an improvement for sure, but it doesn't improve on everything.
no I didn't
>Everything about XVI is an improvement over XV. Stories and characters especially.
You can lie all you want
look at you carefully scouring the thread, fetching the ramblings of a dead game. thank you snoyim, I'll review what you've worked so hard to bring me later
he didn't say that
>If you could control different party members it would go a long way.
It really wouldn't, ToA has the same issue despite having like 8 controllable part members.
It would definitely help
If you are talking about Tales of Arise the fundamental problem is that the combat system is dogshit to begin with. The game play very differently, and in Arise's case, shit like bad arte tracking, enemies and bosses that cannot be stunned and a compounding of issues (Law has artes with long attack strings and shit tracking, and outside of breaking barriers, the unstunnable enemies and bosses make his gimmick basically pointlessly).
I don't think XVI is nearly as "fundamentally" broken as Tales of Arise both have the core issue of ability dumping being the activity you are doing most consistently. Adding and removing characters doesn't do particularly much other than give you another character to dump differently flavored abilities with, not to mention that XVI already covers many bases with just Clive that Arise does spread between like 5 characters. Removing the execution req for abilities like what is in DMC is a major and basically unsolvable issue.
It has been done before, in games like MGR and Automata. The mechanical simplification of cuhrazee games.
For example I think MGR never took it far enough, Sam was a more interesting and fun character than Raiden, who needed weapon switching. I was also expecting the game to stay true to MGS and to give Raiden melee attacks or combo routes modified by the O button (traditionally the button MGS used for melee and choking).
Automata was the best of both worlds, with relative easy execution but a lot of variety that could make it complex.
Both of those games aren't ability-based, though. Automata is a simpler Bayonetta, yes, but the sole complexity is the combo modifiers. MGR isn't even close to either of those, MGR is much closer to something like Sekiro. It's mechanical complexity is sourced out of the enemies you fight, and not Raiden's moveset, although the boss weapon modifiers ultimately achieve the same thing that Automata's weapon swaps do to a lesser degree.
Either way, neither are a great representation of what XVI was trying to be or even could be with updates.
Considering the combat is so similar to DMC, the ability to control additional characters could add a lot. They could have totally different fighting styles, spells, and attack animations/combos.
Did you....read my post? If DMC had button select abilities, playing Nero and playing Dante would be functionally indifferent. The mechanical depth (and fun) that comes from the playable characters in DMC is based out of the differences in execution- you aren't going to see the same input string twice between the two characters. Tales and XVI have the same issue in that the differences in execution are nonexistent, no matter the animation flair that comes attached, you are ultimately just selecting something from a menu at the end of the day. Thus, it all blends together and quickly becomes stale, the enemies don't pressure you enough for evasion and response to be the core loop like a Souls game, the damage input isn't complex enough to be the core loop like DMC.
They would not be functionally indifferent if the abilities were different. Besides button select abilities only really make sense for Clive from a story standpoint. Other characters could be reliant on combos, while others could have their own unique mechanics. Even just adding more combos to Clive would be great. There is so much they could have done to add variety.
>They would not be functionally indifferent if the abilities were different.
Yes, they would. FFVIIR has this exact issue too, where no matter who you are "playing", the core loop boils down to slamming (x) elemental spell that the enemy is weak to over and over. The exception to this rule is Tifa, which is why she's the most fun to play and the character you see the most footage of. It also helps a lot of her animations can be exploited to avoid damage, but that is another story.
I'm not nearly as critical of VIIR because it it's trying to be an action game, but it is a good representation of what I'm talking about. Yes, on a basic level Cloud and Aerith are different, but the realities of the combat system means that playing either of them is rarely ever any different.
>Other characters could be reliant on combos, while others could have their own unique mechanics.
At this point, you are talking about creating a completely separate combat system, which wasn't going to happen and isn't going to happen.
>Even just adding more combos to Clive would be great.
Yeah, like how about not having menu select abilities be the core of your action RPG? Lmao.
>because it it's
*it isn't
>on a basic level Cloud and Aerith are different, but the realities of the combat system means that playing either of them is rarely ever any different.
Couldn't disagree more. Sure the input cycle is similar, but ideal positioning and more importantly feel is very different from character to character. Aerith has slow ranged attacks, while tifa has short range rapid punches.
>At this point, you are talking about creating a completely separate combat system.
No I'm not. Even Clive has a few combos. That could easily be expanded upon.
>how about not having menu select abilities be the core of your action RPG?
That works for me too.
>feel is very different from character to character.
Superficial. I guess if it entertains you, all power to you, but if my play-by-play stays exactly the same from character to character I'm going to get very bored very fast.
>No I'm not. Even Clive has a few combos. That could easily be expanded upon.
What are you even talking about with "combos"?
>Superficial
It isn't superficial. Just because characters have similar button inputs doesn't mean the effect of those input is. The abilities themselves can lead to vastly different playstyles. For example, one ability could be a short range aoe burst with a long windup, while another might be a quick ranged piercing attack that damages everything in a line. Optimal positioning and use are different. The fact that both are bound to triangle means very little.
>What are you even talking about with "combos"?
I'm talking about consecutive inputs leading to a unique effect. For example the magic burst combo in FF16. You press square then triange repeatedly with specific timing to pull it off.
>The abilities themselves can lead to vastly different playstyles. For example, one ability could be a short range aoe burst with a long windup, while another might be a quick ranged piercing attack that damages everything in a line. Optimal positioning and use are different. The fact that both are bound to triangle means very little.
The whole point I was illustrating with VIIR specifically is that this was very often not the case, as it isn't the case in VIIR, it's rarely the case in XVI, and it is basically never the case in ToA. You are never going to get an ability-based combat system in which every ability is special, unique, and different. It has never happened and it never will happen because there's just not enough evolution in the action game genre to have it work. Even something like Dragon's Dogma is carried by factors outside of it's ability selection, which is very sparse and has little variation. Even then, I'd say it achieves more than something like VIIR and other peers because at the very least you are getting an entirely different playstyle out of ranged classes.
>I'm talking about consecutive inputs leading to a unique effect.
Okay so something they intentionally removed from the very obvious DMC inspirations with the intention of simplifying the system? Why would they add something in they very pointedly stripped out? It's literally the source of the issue, the entire point of the discussion, is that "consecutive inputs" are barely a thing in XVI.
>The whole point I was illustrating with VIIR specifically is that this was very often not the case.
This is the part I disagree with. In FFVIIR the characters are different enough to make playing each of them feel unique. They all have varied attack speeds, attack ranges, combos, animation cancels, and abilities. Criticizing the fact that button inputs are similar is superficial by definition.
>"consecutive inputs" are barely a thing in XVI
Yes and my point was there should be more. Other characters could be more reliant on combos. This wouldn't require a new combat system as you stated.
>They all have varied attack speeds, attack ranges, combos, animation cancels, and abilities.
....all of which don't matter, because the combat system is ability-based and the fact Cloud can even swing his sword becomes irrelevant by hour 5, maybe 10. Are you reading? Because I've definitely already said this. It's the inherent flaw in ability-based systems, even if Clive had 12 weapons to choose from it wouldn't matter because you'd still be choosing abilities straight from a menu.
>This wouldn't require a new combat system as you stated
It essentially would, lmao. "Just write in some combos bro", like are you serious? That isn't how design works, dude. You can't just, create a combo-based combat system out of thin air.
>all of which don't matter, because the combat system is ability-based.
That doesn't make sense. Unique button inputs aren't necessary for gameplay variety. It's much easier to be able to simply change what that button does in certain circumstances. This isn't a fighting game. Besides, weren't you just saying the combat system isn't going to be radically changed?
>It essentially would, lmao. "Just write in some combos bro", like are you serious?
I literally typed out an example of a combo that exists within the game. So yes it would be possible to add more combos to the existing system. You should probably stop before you embarrass yourself.
>So yes it would be possible to add more combos to the existing system.
I never said that this wasn't possible, I said that asking them to design whole new characters that are purely based out of combos and not ability selection is never going to happen because that's essentially an entirely new combat system. As I already said, they intentionally removed basically any semblance of input complexity already. They aren't going to walk that back and there's much more that goes into designing a character in a character action game than just "lol bro well there's already one combo so just add more lmao". And you have the nerve to tell me I'm embarrassing myself? Get fucking real.
>Besides, weren't you just saying the combat system isn't going to be radically changed?
Yes? Fail to see how this damages my point or is even relevant.
>Unique button inputs aren't necessary for gameplay variety. It's much easier to be able to simply change what that button does in certain circumstances.
Easier and hinders gameplay variety, yes, because you are never going to have a suite of fully unique skills that will keep someone occupied for 40 hours. If there's no effort to be had in executing the abilities it doesn't matter that you've changed the context, the player is still fucking bored unless they are a retarded knuckle dragger who just wants to see pretty lights go off. And besides, VIIR doesn't even really "change what that button does", like I said in one of my earlier posts you are ultimately just spamming Fire/Lightning/Wind/whatever with the exact same range and animation ad nauseum, with the limiting factor of mages being more effective either being outright removed from the game or so inconsequential I never noticed it.
>there is a lack of VARIETY.
NTA but there's a bunch of different setup builds you can switch between throughout the game. And Ultimaniac is now an infinite air combo simulator, exclusive to the mode.
It's a huge issue because the combat itself is great. it's noticeable by the end though IMO.
You mean you wanted to unlock more abilities earlier? I can understand that. Personally I think once you get Titan there's already enough variety with builds.
I meant it's not a huge issue. my bad for the typo.
>It's not a huge issue because the combat itself is great. it's noticeable by the end though IMO.
Unlocking them earlier would be nice though. Or having more eikon abilities unlock for the ones you already have as you progress. It just felt like there weren't enough options for such a long game.
What did they change with ultimaniac? I thought it was just fixes to scoring (that didn’t even do much) and changes tp rime and gouge.
So you're saying XV has better combat lmao?
No I'm saying FF15 has more variety. FF16 feels more like an action game than an RPG. This isn't a bad thing, but the game is too long for the system it has imo. It would be better if you could control and upgrade other party members.
I feel you, but do not agree with the multiple party member thing. The game could have trimmed the fat like with Mid's ship building, that sidequest chapter thing from FFVII R affected XVI adversely.
I think expaning Clive's base moveset and all Eikons giving him another weapon he could tap into like Odin's is a better solution. I went expecting Clive to be a streamlined/dumbed down version of Dante, but he resembles Nero more.
I agree with your criticism as well. I also like what they have in place for Clive. It just doesn't feel like final fantasy to me when you can only control and gear one person. In my ideal world they would keep the current system for clive, but allow you to control the other party members as well. It's not like the dominants lose all their power after Clive absorbs it.
>It's not like the dominants lose all their power after Clive absorbs it.
True, but this was a point of contention that made for drama at the end of the game. Notions of what is or isn't, of what feels or doesn't feel like an FF game are vacuous to me - if it has FF in the title next to a number, it's a mainline game.
I think giving Clive a more expansive moveset and the eikons giving him a secondary weapon would have been better, alongside something more akin to KH revenge value system because as it is, the game gets into a loop of
>okay, gotta manage my abilities well so I destroy the stagger bar, and the cooldowns are done by the time I can unleash hell on this boss
I know you can play around it, but I feel this is a pitfall the game will naturally encourage most efficient players to fall into. Stagger the boss, find the best rotation of abilities to maximize damage. For me it was
>Stagger
>diamond dust
>zan lvl 5
>lightning rod
>rift slip
>dancing steel
>LB
>Zan level 5
>Gigaflare
I agree with everything you said. It don't care that it felt more like an action game. I care that the combat generally lacked variety considering the length of the game. At the very least the base combat talent circle or whatever you call it could have been expanded.
Can Diamond Dust freeze the stagger bar? I've been using DD to stagger, maybe I've been doing it wrong?
No. DD is to stagger or build up the damage multiplier. One DD one a staggered enemy basically gets you to 1.50 damage.
I want them to patch in
>press X to kiss Jill
>press L3 and R3 to penetrate benedikta
ANYONE GOT THE 3D HEBE JILL WHERE SHE LIFTS UP HER SKIRT?
I need it for the timeline.
Melbourne: 4.02am. 58f. clear.
What's the lore behind this scene?
I mean it's pretty simple. Barney is lonely, his will is weak and he lets Ultima control him with porn hallucinations.
He was in the middle of going down the rabbithole (or maybe he was already at the bottom)
>25 ips
HOLY DEAD GAME LMAO
you're not fooling anyone Barry, I keep track of the stat threads and it was definitely 26 when you posted
im sorry that was rude of me
keep having fun bye
Can't blame Imreann for wanting some of that teenage poontang.
>stop petrification
>this means he loses his hand
stop switching ip's barry you can't fool us
I hated FFXV. I hate downer endings. I hate dumb logic like Clive literally casting a spell that REMOVES PETRIFICATION but then having petrification setting in, and somehow still losing the hand. I also hate Barry. But most of all, I hate people who HAVE to have a scapegoat whenever more than person has a criticism for a game in a designated discussion circle. Newsflash, gay: Ganker is more than one person. More than one person hates something that you like. Go back to plebbit if you can't stand someone disagreeing with your zeitgeist
It doesn't "remove" petrification. Already stoned body parts remain stoned. It just can't spread any further, the curse doesn't work anymore just like magic doesn't. So Clive saved himself and Jill, and made sure Valisthea wasn't entirely blighted in the end.
OP should have worded his post better then, sue me.
DAMN BRAT, I'LL SUE
It's worded clearly though, listing several things with a slash. If you wanted to use one verb, those things (magic, curses, eikons) just don't work anymore.
you don't understand how verbs work, must be esl
You must be retarded or shitposting kek.
Magic and eikons are inaccessible. So bearers can't exist but it's not like the people themselves disappear obviously.
Blight and curses stop and can't spread anymore.
Crystals don't exist anymore because they're destroyed (Origin was the last).
How do you summarize? None of these Ultima-created plagues work anymore.
esl and a reddit spacer
sad state of affairs
You don't even understand what you're shitposting about. Open the window.
I don't consider posts that lack the required reddit spacing, try again little sister
Try taking meds kek. An overdose.
I'm just here to discuss clive rosensteins grayscale condition and here you are replying to me in esl
You're just here to show you're a mentally ill shitposter. I know.
only those of dragon blood are immune to the grayscale blight
>ip count still doesn't increase
I think we should all take a screenshot of our post that shows the ip count before posting, it's the only way to be sure we aren't talking to barry
they killed her off way too early
Cid dlc could mean more of her and barnabas.
I am fine with this as long as we get to see him fight semi primed Dion
Barry isn't here, he has a very distinct posting style because he is retarded. You guys should stop trying to disregard any criticism as schizo ramblings, because in the end you start acting similar to Barry.
Holy shit even mirrored cover has more interesting build than the game KEK
>>Year 861 (Age 41, Jill is 13) Tries to force Jill to become his nightly “attendant” but Shiva awoke within her, and he dropped that plan.
it's finally over bros
Got a couple of funny threads out of that autist though.
But what about Clive?
Clive was a gentlemanly turbovirgin until Jill boob pressed him and he got the memo it's fucking time
You're not wrong but there's also all those years at Sanbreque.
Clive said all he did was killing and sleeping in the dirt
At the brothel he acted like he was deaf
The way he acts the whole game, the only one he desires is Jill
>Jill is pure
Knew it
>she's pure
Jill got railed by Clive spartan mode outside, on a wild fucking beach, and then over his desk at the hideaway
I always thought Valisthea was the planet's name, but it's just the continents of Ash and Storm?
Yes. There are lands referenced outside valisthea as well. A main continent. Think of valisthea like japan or the uk.

Nice Bible you got there ,a shame that bullshit isnt ingame and didnt read it completely
You wouldn't read it even if it was in the game.
Melbourne: 7.40am. 60f. sleeping with a restful ease that only victory could provide
these 16 threads sure dead when barry isn't here to carry them. yoshichuds should thank him
Harpocrates wa the one that wrote the book
Jill decided to give Joshua's name, since Clive would do the same
>not Edita
>Year 861 (Age 41, Jill is 13) Tries to force Jill to become his nightly “attendant” but Shiva awoke within her, and he dropped that plan.
we're free. she's pure.
Shiva saved her virginity
>Shiva saved her virginity
Well technically not
>Can force her to murder people by threatening to kill the kids
>Can't force her to fuck him under the same conditions
Smells like they didn't think this through and now are trying to poorly retcon this possibility
If you paid any attention to the story, it's because the Iron Blood see bearers and dominants as subhuman abominations. Seems Imreann's faith was bigger than his dick and desire.
maybe he doesn't want his dick to turn into a popsicle by her subconsciously? idk, man.
Mogged by BG3, Elden ring and genshin impact
Is there a scan of this book out?
The book is 700 pages long anon
I'll buy if it gets translated to english...
Draw Clive anally buttfucking Joshua in the ass
It's the other way around.
no thats gay
If it's not in-game, it doesn't matter.
This isn't WoW. You shouldn't need to read 12 different books to understand what happens in the game.
Newfag
They may be worthless for making games, but Squeenix has mastered what a beautiful child looks like I guess.
You just know.
What the fuck is this concept
Is it supposed to be in Ironholm? It gives her a warlock look.
>Ultima's creations
>Humans are Ultima's creation
Fake news by people who didn't play the game.
Obviously means only the bad shit Ultima created to use and torture humans, they straight up list it in the book
What is Metia? And why did they show this star or whatever it is thousands of times implying it's something essential for the story?
>What is Metia?
Some bullshit that ties into FFXIV.
Play the game.
I finished the game. I still don't understand. Help me.
It's basically an artificial moon Ultima created so he could keep tabs on humanity. It's in one of the codex entries, I believe it's the one for Ultimatius that updates after you either finish the game or start NG+.
based post
I nominate you for "honorary straight"
>What is Metia?
It's symbolism. Stars are believed to be tied to fate, and you pray to the star to wish for a better fate (think astrology). It also symbolizes the relationship Clive and Jill have as the red star is especially shown when they're together.
When Metia fades, it means that the fate is broken, but it also means they're not symbolically connected through this star anymore. That's why Jill believes Clive died when it fades, it didn't answer her prayers.
>What is Metia?
The Mythology surrounding it is only in the English version. In Japanese it's just a wishing star.
Magic comes from the stars. Bearers are the descendants of the fallen aka "The Celestials". They're called "bearers" because they bear the blessing of the stars.
In English, Ultima in tells Clive and Joshua that they created mankind and went to sleep.
What he means is that they altered the life already on the planet to host their spirits. Thus creating the beastmen. And later, the Eikons.
Life = Magic. They say as much when you visit the deadlands. The bearers turn to stone, and the land turn to waste, not because they're drained of aether, but because they don't have the will to live.
The beach Clive washes up on in the end is on Ash, where he and Jill made a fun naked time promise. It's accompanied by the same music, just with lyrics.
>"...that we might look upon the moon again, together"
>"Do you see it too, Jill?"
They escaped their "fate" as bearers. As dominants. As Ultima's beasts of burden.
Literally no one cares and I'm the biggest FF fan
you need to take a screenshot of your post that shows the ip count, it's protocol now
